We came for a weeknight dinner with a reservation as a group of 4 and were seated inside their second building. This restaurant is so cute and I already want to come back during the day to sit on their patio. Neon lights combined with grandma's porch type of aesthetic. I LOVED the white truffle gnocchi and would definitely get it again- the best flavor and good gnocchi texture. The artichoke beignets were also great- imagine arancini with artichoke. But I would totally pass on the vodka pastas and burrata appetizer...the vodka sauce did not taste right and the burrata was too solid. We really enjoyed our night here on New Year's Eve! The service was quick and the ambiance of the place truly is beautiful. We have driven by many times but haven't had an opportunity to drop by. When we arrived we were seated quickly and we loved that they had a belly dancer going through the inside of the place. I'm assuming this was just a special event thing since it was new years. We have actually tried several of their other similar locations around the Bay Area and this was by far one of my favorites. The food is always good hearty. What a lovely place! I felt like I got transported to Italy! Came here last night for a 5 course dinner with wine pairing from St Michael-Eppan Winery. What a lovely presentation from Matia and his partner. The wines were amazing, my favorites were Sanct Sauvignon 2023 and Sandy Valentin Lagrein 2021 (red - almost black wine). The dishes were incredible! Each one cooked to perfection and were brought out to us warm and so delicious. This was such an impressive event and would love to see and go to more of these. The people there were the nicest, the people who worked there were so kind and friendly. We had the front private room for this event which was perfect and cozy, with hundreds of bottles of wine on the wall and the wine fridge. It felt like we were in Italy at a lemon farm dining. I had such a great time. The back patio was so cute and charming and the restroom was super clean. Loved the experience here and would love to come back again. read more

I brought a friend here for her birthday lunch. We were sat outside. With the perfect weather and the decor it was really cute. We ordered the mixed calamari and shared the carbonara. The food was decent (pretty salty but still good) and the portion sizes were large (which is why we shared). They also give you an olive tapenade with bread for the table. The main reason this isn't a 4 star review is because of the service. Immediately after we were sat by the host and given menus& drinks, someone came by to take our order. We said we needed more time and they came back again another minute later. We said again we needed more time. When we were ready to order we couldn't find anyone for another 20 minutes. Since we were catching up, waiting was no big deal but we definitely felt rushed when we first sat down and thought it was funny we couldn't find someone when we were ready. There were another couple of strange incidents where another staff member stood over us and watched us eat for a couple minutes without saying anything. All in all, it's a very cute place with good food (but a little too salty for my taste) if you don't mind some occasional weird moments. read more

Thursdays are for impromptu dinner nights! Tonight we had the pleasure to visit Locanda Ravello in Danville. The front of the restaurant was beautiful & great for pictures. The restaurant was full of people - which is a great sign. We were greeted by the nicest hostess, I wish I caught her name. Over all the service and staff was impressive and very helpful. Our waiter Valerio was attentive and friendly ! My friend ordered the carbonara and penne pasta with vodka sauce he was definitely hungry. Both were so flavorful and tasty! In order a Caesar salad and chicken Parmesan. Unfortunately, the chicken Parmesan wasn't the best. The chicken was cooked great, but it lacked the cheesy goodness. The spinach was not seasoned at all and the potatoes were extremely brand. It was an an interesting pairing.. I wouldn't suggest that dish . However I saw someone order the salmon and that looked amazing. I would check that out. Atmosphere is warm and cozy. Amazing time here! Food was delicious from start to finish. We started with their famous meatballs. The sauce was fresh and not overwhelming. Meatballs were tender and full of flavor. My friend ordered Branzino that was finished off at the table. I ordered their special pasta and we rounded with some refreshing drinks. Service was attentive. My only callout was if you are inside one of their side rooms it is very difficult to hear yourselves talk. But overall a fun place. This is a quaint gem tucked in the Danville area on prospect street. They have 3 indoor seating areas and 2 patio areas. Portions are good, service was good and the food was amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. No steak sauce needed which is rare. Comes with a salad and fries. Absolutely great!! Came here for the first time from out of town and glad I made it here. I'm not sure how the other Italian places are in the area, but this was excellent. Very authentic Italian food, the owners all speak Italian and know how to bring a piece of Italy to California. We started off with the fritto Misti which was excellent - lightly battered and fried, big portion to share amongst 3-4 people. We also tried the meatballs, also good. Pizza was great too, we ordered the margarita and sausage with funghi which had a taste of truffle paired nicely. Honestly, our entire meal was excellent. We hosted a lunch for a group of 8 today at Locanda Ravello and had a wonderful time. The service was excellent, but the food truly stole the show! Dish Highlights We ordered a few excellent entrées, but the Branzino was absolutely sublime--we ordered three servings, and they were all perfectly prepared. Similarly, the Spaghetti Vongole was fresh, flavorful, and tasted authentic. The Vegetarian Panini also made for a great, hearty option for the non-meat eaters. Dessert Showcase You must save room for dessert! Our table enjoyed a wide range of offerings: the Tiramisu was classic and decadent, the Zeppoline were warm and delightful, and the refreshing Torta Limoncello and Sorbetto Limone provided the perfect light finish to the meal. Overall Experience Our server and the service overall were excellent and handled our large party flawlessly. I wish I had taken photos but I'm 9 months pregnant and the people eating with me were just lucky to keep their fingers with how hungry I was when we arrived. I digress. First I want to say that this is the first place that I have eaten since the before times where the price felt right for what I got. With how expensive it is to eat out these days I wanted this to get top billing. The food was spectacular. Even pregnant I'm not easy to please when it comes to pizza or any Italian really. My husband was born in Sicily and we generally find that $40 for a plate of even decent pasta is rage inducing and we can always make it better at home for $10. We came here for lunch: they started us off with complimentary bread and Kalamata tapenade (the perfect way to start), then we ordered the Pizza Diavola and Frito Misto to share after I ordered cannolo and my husband ordered a cappuccino. The bill came to $67 before tip (for reference my husband and I ordered lunch at the Kebab Shop last week and paid $50 for a plate, a wrap, and some hummus which was all chain food crap). The pizza crust was perfectly thin with bubbles and a light char. The toppings were salty and creamy and perfectly balanced. The frito misto had prawns, calamari (rings and tentacles), and artichoke hearts. It came with a small salad and a sauce that seemed like a kalamata aioli (but I'm not sure). The rings were a tiny bit chewy but everything else was lovely. We also accepted their offered pepper flakes, parm, and chili oil. GET THE CHILI OIL. It's AMAZING and house made. The cannolo was enormous. One side was covered in chocolate chips and one side with pistachios and the most important part was that it was FILLED COMPLETELY THROUGH. This is an often missed piece and yet so important to the structure and credibility of the cannolo and its maker. The service was good, the owner was friendly and conversational, our waters were always full, the dishes were cleared very quickly, and the staff were all friendly. I haven't eaten a meal out in a long time that was as satisfying and worth every penny as the lunch I just ate at Locanda. I will be back very soon and many times after that, until they call the cops on me for stalking. read more

We drove up for a birthday dinner but were disappointed with the food. The neopolitan pizza wasn't grilled enough, the tomato sauce was fresh but lacked the depth didn't taste the basil at all. It truly feels like you're in another country and has so many surrounding bars and lounges that are walking distance for a night cap! The staff is always so pleasant and really make you feel like family. My boyfriend asked the waiter a question and he pulled out the open chair next to him, sat down with us and took the time to make conversation. THAT is the kind of service more Bay Area restaurants need (opposed to always feeling rushed!) As gif food, the Pizza Tartufa is the BEST, especially paired with the Vodka Penne! I use the leftover sauce to dip my crust. I eat it at least once a month and could probably every week without getting tired of it be sure to ask for the chili oil (not flakes!) I always forget what it's called, but they'll know what you're taking about. Beware, a little goes a long way - super spicy but flavorful! Would give 10 stars if I could! read more

The Octopus Salad and Margherita were table favorites for sure. The octopus was extremely fresh and blended together well with the rest of the salad. The Margherita was Italian-style with a thin crust and little flop overall. The buffalo mozzarella was something new but extremely fresh and flavorful while the tomato sauce was slightly sweet yet tangy. No wonder why there's always a line and great word of mouth. read more

After dining at Locanda Amalfi in Pleasanton I was intrigued in trying this location, but I left sadly feeling slightly disappointed. The restaurant itself was very beautiful. The outdoor patio dining area was spacious and decorated very nicely. I was meeting my friend and we decided to try pasta and a pizza. We were greeted by our server and we were told the specials for the day. One of which was a Spaghetti and Lobster Bisque, and we decided to try that along side the San Daniele. For starters we ordered Insalata Vesuvio, which included mixed greens, strawberries, oranges, toasted almonds, burrata, and a orange and citrus vinaigrette. Very light and refreshing salad, the burrata added a nice creamy element to the dish. Our entrees were delicious but they definitely didn't meet perfection. The lobster bisque itself was very bright and fresh, the whole cherry tomatoes in my opinion was a very good touch. What really caught my attention was how noticeable the lobster flavor was incorporated into the sauce. However the lobster was over cooked which led that to become chewy. The San Daniele, which included 24 Month aged Prosciutto, wild baby arugula, tomato, fresh mozzarella and shaved parmigiano-Reggiano was slightly underwhelming. Due to too much arugula it seemed to overpower the other ingredients. The prosciutto itself was very flavorful and there was a generous Amount added which is always appreciated. Sadly the table next to us ordered pizza as well, and we noticed that they had the same waiter as us. The waiter asked them if they,d like chili oil or Parmesan for the pizza and we did not get that option. It had me wondering if it was because of our age? Since the couples next to us were much older than us. It seems to be that they were the target crowd. We would have appreciated if we were given the same kind of hospitality. At the end of our meal we were given a complimentary shot of caramelo, a caramel infused vodka. That was a very nice gesture from our waiter. We reserved several tables for 15-20 people for my grandma's 75th surprise birthday dinner. Aside from being treated as if we were a pain in the ass as soon as we entered, the "short ribs" in the tortellini has the consistency of refried beans, the sauce makes it OK. The server who hates the elderly offers to slice my grandma's cake, the slices come out as lumps instead, as if he used a spoon to cut them. He charges us $90 for the gracious cake-cutting. My family and I love Laconda in Danville. We're never had a bad meal or poor experience there. The employees are friendly, the service is excellent and the ambiance is lively. Took my mom and spouse here for an early Mother's Day dinner on a Friday. We love the very family-like vibe of Locanda Ravello, with the tables embedded amongst what looks to be repurposed almost-home like plaza. It feels friendly and has authentic Italian charm. We've been to the Amalfi location and like that there's some variety of options like this that are available in the East Bay. Our server was prompt and kind, and gave us the specials. He also rescued other tables from the sunny day, moving large and heavy umbrellas, so shout out to him. Clearly keeping busy, but with a jovial smile and hearty laughter. We ordered a ton there, including our usuals (octopus salad and fritto misto - calamari, prawns, artichoke hearts). These appetizers got wolfed down completely. No leftovers. Some of the other memorables included their special of the day/week: a 12 oz rib eye that was perfectly cooked (medium rare), and included a salad and fries. We also got the pizza tartufata, but asked to replace the truffle sauce with a more traditional marinara (mozzarella, chiodini mushrooms, prosciutto) as one of the fam isn't into truffle flavor.. which I guess makes it more pizza marinara, since tartufata is truffle (facts). The eggplant parmigiana was also melty-delicious and one of our faves. I was on the dry tip for a health reboot, so got a non-alcoholic beer (probably for the first time). It ended up actually 0.5% alcohol, but that just made it taste like the lightest beer ever; it was nice for a refresher in the heat. All in all, I was pleased with getting to treat two lovely ladies to a Mother's Day, along with other fam, and felt well-nourished and catered to. Another plus is there is plenty of parking in downtown Danville, off of Front Street, with not just one, but two parking lots. One possible gripe is that tables were fairly close together. Reminded me of a Valentine's Day outing I had where people were near touching elbows. It made it feel a bit more home-y though and the chatter was lively.
