A great vegan poke bowl is hard to come by, and Loco Poke is no exception. I make a call ahead of time just to hear out their options to which I was reassured there was plenty. They didn't have tofu as I am accustomed to finding at other poke spots and their staff was having real trouble knowing what items were vegan or not. Ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl. Chicken was dry and there was no sauce for the bowl. The food items in the bowl were all at a different temperature which made the bowl smell rancid. The broccoli had burn marks but it was cold, the onion and edamame seemed lightly microwaved and in between hot and cold. I'm only glad that I didn't try to eat their raw protein items. read more

Unfortunately, the bowl is a small plastic salad bowl and the portions are small -- at least for the price. It costs too much not to get full! Update: 12/22/2022 I'm very sorry to have to give such a low review. Firstly, I like small businesses and want them to succeed. And secondly, my husband and I have been on opposite sides of the fence regarding Loco Poke, and I really wanted us both to love it this time . Unfortunately, our meals were both not good tonight. There was way too much sauce on the rice, so much so that neither of us could finish our meals. On top of that, the flavor of the sauce was not good. I don't know if the overabundance of sauce affected the flavor of all the other ingredients or not, but everything -- seaweed salad, imitation crab salad, pineapple, the ponzu sauce itself -- tasted "off" and not fresh. I'm very sad to say we will probably not return to Loco Poke for a very, very long time. read more

I wasn't looking to try anything new. I was actually just picking my girlfriend up from work (her job is right around the corner), and we were thirsty and wanted to pick up some quick drinks from the liquor store next to Loco Poke before starting our drive back to Sacramento. But as we pulled up, we spotted Loco Poke and wondered what it was so we walked in to try it. Best way I can explain this restaurant is that it's a little bit like Subway but instead of putting sandwiches together you are putting your own bowl together with rice, noodles or both and adding raw fish. The toppings that you put into your consist of different types of raw fish, sauces, toppings. It's different but you really need to try it to understand how good it is! My overall impression is very good of this great establishment and it seems the bowls you put together here are very healthy,and you can put bowls together that are very good! If you told me earlier in the day that I would have been putting together a bowl with raw fish then I wouldn't have believed it. For people who are familiar with eating sushi, I put stuff in my bowl that you would find in sushi (example: rice, tuna, salmon, poppy seeds, avocado, soy sauce and more) But at this place it was very good. And the smoothies they make here are very good. This is the type of place I can eat at every day but it would be a bit on the pricey side and I'm not in Lodi every day. Favorite Poke place in the local area! Food is fresh and usually quick to get. LOVE their matcha shake. I also love that they are open to suggestions on their social media, which is a nice change for a restaurant. It feels like they really care about giving 100% satisfaction to their customers. Plus they always have deals going on which is nice! Definitely recommend it to everyone I know. With COVID going on, and online to-go ordering a convenience, I wish the online ordering system better reflected how you ordered in person. I found you couldn't pick a sauce to mix in l, for each step, and you can't mix the type of meat per scoop. (Ie: a regular order with 2 scoops tuna, 1 scoop shrimp is unable to be done) Maybe if a "Order Notes" section was added to the ordering page that would be helpful? read more

Has anyone else noticed that the bowls are getting smaller and the price is higher? It's too bad this is happening because I love poke and considering this is Lodi's only Poke option the market is cornered. I purchased a veggie bowl and wanted an extra scoop of edamame and was charged .85 cents for it. It's the only protein in the bowl!! I mean come on!! Extra scoops of anything and it's almost an extra dollar? The owners have become greedy and stingy. I don't think I would recommend it because of the price. For the price I paid for 2 bowls I should have just gone to a sushi restaurant. Too bad because a year ago I would have highly recommended the place!! read more

This poke location is the absolute best in Northern California! The freshness of all the foods and many choices from each category make it our must stop for seafood and chicken. I had the regular size bowl with rice base. My protein was Salmon and Hamachi with green onions, tobiko and edamame. The choices for sauces are so varied literally more than 10 types. I had them add hot oil and ponzu to mine. The customer service is excellent and the restaurant and bathroom were extremely clean! Loco Poke will always be my first choice! read more

First time coming here, arrived right before the crowd started coming in. Staff quickly helped me and the rest of my party. Order like a usual poke place. I liked that they had quinoa as a base for a healthier option. I ordered my meal of a regular bowl with all tuna for the protein. If I forgot to ask for one thing, staff was happy to help me add more things. Took my food to go and it was delicious. A couple pieces of the fish may not have had the best texture but that can happen anywhere. The only thing I didn't care for was the consistency crab salad. This may be my preference but it was more chunky than the regular crab salad one day, then a different texture another day. There was an awful lot of rice compared to the rest of the bowl. Regardless, I will still come back for the fresh toppings and delicious sauces, (My fave is the unagi sauce). I would have to take off a star for the crab salad consistency and the rice to protein/topping ratio. read more

my husband and i are huge poke enthusiasts and had this place recommended to us by a friend. we decided to try it for pick up since we didn't live too far away. we picked up the order as soon as it was ready and drone only five minutes to take it home, but i noticed immediately that my salmon and tuna did not taste fresh. the texture of it was off for some reason and it felt really chewy. my husband got the chow mein bowl because it was a unique option, but it felt doughy and undercooked while tasting salty. he had the loco sauce on his bowl and despite coming with a spice warning, it wasn't spicy at all. i tried it as well, and even though i have a low spice tolerance and can't even finish a bag of hot chips, i ate a couple of spoonfuls and felt no kick. this place has a very diverse menu abs i wanted to like it for that, but i was really disappointed. read more

Decided to come here with my co workers to try this place out. I was pretty excited that Lodi finally have a poke place. First thing I noticed, the inside decor was very simple and nice. Now food wise, I ordered a regular bowl with three protein scoop. Right when I told the individual who was helping me how I wanted white rice as my base, she asked me what kind of sauce I want to add on my base. I thought it was a little weird until I realized later why they suggest it but the sauce I chose was their loco sauce (which is suppose to be very Spicy) and their house sauce. I love rice but they need to change up their bowls or at least know how to portion it up. I noticed how 3/4 of the bowl was mainly rice... The place has limited protein option compare to Sacramento poke places and others. Their protein was cut up smaller than what I'm used to compare to other poke places. Their topping was also limited. I was not a fan of how they dice up their jalapeño and how green onions/onions are served as toppings when they shouldn't be.. Tasting wise, their spicy sauce was not spicy at all. I tasted more mayo in the sauce than anything else that was added in. Overall a two because of their customer service was decent and the place is clean. read more

I'm so glad I finally tried this place. Walked in on a weeknight and there was a steady stream of customers. The menu and ordering process is posted directly on the wall and provides limitless combinations. Ordered half kelp noodles half mixed greens, along with chicken and shrimp. I haven't been to a poke place that does not offer imitation crab meat as their regular topping/base. My bowl was half rice and proportions of sashimi and toppings were a bit too off for me. Sauce was very basic and standard and not much taste. it could be because I didn't ask for extra. I prob would and should have if I had known how much rice was in that bowl. I also didn't like the fact that they mixed my spicy tuna with the sauce. Other poke places I frequent do not mix any "marinated" sashimi with their sauce at all. There weren't many toppings to choose from either. Overall, I found myself very disappointed after reading all those raving reviews about this place. I don't know where these 4-5 star reviews are coming from, but this place is not real poke. I ordered a bowl and the nachos and they were the most bland food I ever tasted. It had little to no flavor at all. On top of that the price is really overpriced for what they offer. Recently moved to Lodi and have been exploring. Thankful for this new place. First time here today and the service started great! The men described the menu and options well. The setting was clean and welcoming. The serving size was perfect. I ordered a regular, brown rice, lite mayo sriracha sauce option, my protein of choice was 1 scoop of Tuna, 1 scoop of salmon, 1 scoop of crab which I love that they have the crab option!
