Went in for a cappuccino but ended up ordering a matcha and toast with almond butter. I've been here before and ordered the shakschuka and avocado toast and it was really good but I haven't been here since it's been expanded and renovated. So the Matcha was really good. I think a little pricey for the serving size but it was good. The toast was deee-licious. Fresh baked, soft, excellent tasting bread with sweet almond butter. Delish! My sister ordered a vegan pastry with berries on it and that was really good too! I was lucky enough to find metered parking out front and it wasn't a busy day so there were plenty of seats available inside and no wait in line. Sometimes you forget something as simple as cinnamon and sugar toast can be so good! That was actually my favourite toast in comparison with the ricotta and jam toast. Unimpressed with the wild mushroom pizza, too much garlic that were not chopped up fine enough (and this is coming from a garlic lover!), it became very overwhelming. Plus the pizza crust bottom was badly charred, not good! Affected the flavors. I had wanted to try their sourdough cinnamon roll but they sold the last one to a few parties ahead of us (this was 11am weekend so you might need to get there earlier if you want this) so I will be back! read more

I learned about this place a few months ago and this past weekend my girlfriend and I were able to stop in for brunch. The space was definitely smaller than I would have thought. Also very crowded. Walking in I liked that we were greeted. I always appreciate that. My girlfriend and I are on the Keto diet but that day I was on a treat day Haha so we ordered a few different things and I ate most of everything. We had to return the first order of the Shakshuka due to it being slightly burned. My girlfriend makes it herself at home and didn't like that burned taste. The BLT was fantastic. I don't like small size of coffee they serve. I'm a real coffee drinkers, coffee drinker from New York, and this small cup of coffee thing Los Angeles has going on is very frustrating to me. Once we were given the second plate of Shakshuka, we were very pleased with it. My girlfriend enjoyed it and we both loved the sauce. I'm a half Italian American who makes my own sauce so I can be very picky with red sauces and their's was delicious. The Shakshuka was also served with two different types of their freshly baked bread. They were also very good. The cinnamon toast was so flavorful. A sweet treat in itself. Over all we enjoyed our visit. The few employees I interacted with were very nice and attentive. I'm a customer service first type of guy and they all gave great service that didn't go unnoticed. I would probably go again just to try a few more menu items on one of my next treat days. If you're in the area I would recommend stopping by. They offer valet parking which is nice. I love it here! The pizzas are amazing, I love the spicy sausage! The breakfast sammie, the BLT, and the morning bun also a winners. There's still a lot left on the menu that I want to try but this place is great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. My god the bread is fantastic here! Service is on point as well. Walking in you get hit with the smell of freshly baked bread and everything looks amazing! This place is DOPE. I was on a struggle bus in Hangover Town, USA and just wanted carbs and fat and coffee. Lodge Bread is a short walk from my place, so I dragged myself out of bed and met a couple friends for lunch. The cafe itself is pretty small with a handful of tables inside and some nice seating on their front patio. We snagged a spot inside pretty easily even though it was a holiday and the entire city of LA was out and about. I ordered a big old slab of avocado toast and a cold brew, both of which totally hit the spot. I would've loved a fried egg on top but they said they couldn't make it, which was fine. I also asked if they had hot sauce after getting my toast and one of the awesome staff members brought me a little bit in a ramekin. I doubt this is usually free and it was so, so good--I'm going to see if they bottle and sell it next time I'm in. Other noteworthy things about Lodge Bread? They have a $100 bread making masterclass that's pretty intriguing. You can buy a loaf of their fancy bread to take home--you can bet I'll be here before my next dinner party or nice picnic. The banana one was superb but the apple one was a different type of bread - kind of rough instead of soft/chewy/doughy. We all ordered a pizza in addition and I really enjoyed mine! What can I say. Hands down my favorite bakery. Their sourdough bread is splendid - moist and chewy with grains. I've tried their ricotta jam toast, shakshuka and miso chocolate chip cookie and I loved everything. Since their bread is so amazing, I'm sure all of their toasts are good. LODGE BREAD CO. YUM YUM YUM. GLUTEN FOR ALL! I'm so glad Lodge Bread Co has the amazing reviews that it does because being in LA and basically serving only gluten can be counter-intuitive, but there's no denying that what they're doing here is legit! All their bread is baked fresh daily and you can smell it as soon as you get within a block. You can even watch the bakers making the bread and other menu items right behind the glass, but try not to stare and drool with your mouth wide open because apparently that's "frowned upon" and "not normal" or whatever. Loaves of bread are $6-10 and all fantastic, but I'm a simple guy so I have a soft spot for the Country bread. Whether you make a sandwich with it, top it with butter and jam, or just eat it with olive oil and balsamic, there's no going wrong here. I've also tried their cinnamon roll ($5.50) and it is MASSIVE; like I almost took it all down in three separate sittings but still had some left. It has a good amount of cinnamon and sugar in it, but it's not too sweet and actually more bread-y. The icing on top has orange zest in it which makes the flavors pop and balances out the sweetness from the cinnamon sugar. Not your typical Cinnabon experience! (And usually that would be a bad thing but here, it's a very very good thing.) Can't wait to come back and try their pizza! read more

Lodge Bread is a very notable exception to this rule. The bread, desserts, sandwiches, hummus, just about everything is truly leveled-up. They've a cohesive approach to what they're doing, you can tell something is from Lodge, their use of tangy starter, ability to blend crispness with chew, sweetness with sourness, they're the goods. Its an expensive place but you can't get the same experience for less or for more, it is what it is and its incredible. I was introduced to this place and I can't stop thinking about their sourdough cinnamon bread and the heavenly frosting that comes with it. They are open during COVID and to avoid lines you can also order online. I've only tried a few things on the menu but for sure number one thing to get is the sourdough cinnamon bread with the whipped cream frosting. Its the perfect texture and consistency. I give myself a generous amount of whipped cream with each bite but if you don't have a huge sweet tooth you can probably just due with eating the bread. It actually carries okay till the next day just toast it or microwave it. I have tried their citrus cake as well. It's more of a lightly citrus pound cake. It's not that sweet and the flavor is again light. But it would be a good combo with tea or ice cream. I also tried their take on a baklava croissant which to me was just a croissant with sesame seeds on top and chocolate in the middle. I don't think I would get this again.
