Kudos for the great service and good food! I was a waitress for decades and have compassion for waitstaff when they have a large group...yet also can be a tough critic. The person in whose section we were seated did an outstanding job when I was there recently on a Friday night in the back room. Time for an update of London Bridge Pub. Almost, not quite, a five-star experience. (Wish I could add half a star.) London Bridge Pub offers great comfort food. DH loves their Fish and Chips and compares others to the ones from here. The chips are nothing special but the fish and coleslaw are excellent. Guiness on draft is a MUST with this meal. My choice in comfort food was the Cottage Pie. Generous serving and I still ate the whole thing! All too often side dish vegetables are an after thought -- either undercooked or overcooked. These were perfect. No leftovers for me. A rather pedestrian Cab was my beverage of choice. Despite my clean plate, I made room for dessert. DH and I shared the Sticky Toffee Pudding with a scoop of delicious vanilla ice cream. We had passed on the ice cream, so the upcharge for the ice cream was waived. Sticky Toffee Pudding is hard to find and when I see it on a menu, I always try it. While the portion was on the small side, it was perfect after my "clean plate" lunch. The last time I had Sticky Toffee Pudding was at a pub on the East Coast. And it was more like gingerbread. Delighted to see that London Bridge Pub knows how to do the real thing! Special kudos to our server, Julian. He said it was only his second day on the job. He did have to check for answers to a couple of our questions. But we found he was professional and personable. We sat in the lower level of the pub, but apparently it has expanded to the second floor. We have been coming here for years and it is one of our standard stops whenever we visit the area. The restaurant is part of the Fisherman's Warf and so there is a huge lot with ample paid parking all around the restaurant. There are also some public parking structures across the street within walking distance. This is a British pub restaurant and while they have standard American dishes like burgers, they are known for their British dishes. Having eaten fish n chips in numerous locations around both the UK and in both American restaurants and British pubs in the States, I can say that London Bridge Pub's fish n chips is one of the most authentic and high-quality versions available in the US. Their curry dishes are just ok. As for the American dishes that we have tried, their salads are good and their bowl of sourdough clam chowder is not bad. We have never had a problem with their service. The servers have always been friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back on our next trip and recommend trying their fish and chips when you are in town. read more

Tried a new place yesterday, as we were searching for a British pub where we could find great fish & chips. We found it! We were fortunate to score a very relaxing corner table which happened to be surrounded by comfy couches. It was there we met the amiable owner, John, and enjoyed great conversation. We had delicious ales, the wonderful bangers 'n' mash, and the best beer-battered cod fish & chips to be found anywhere! Brilliant!! We came here for some drinks & it is a bare bones place. We sat in the back room & it was comfortable with couches & small tables. They also have regular tables. It just did not seem like the cleanest place as we could smell a bit of dog odor as they are pet friendly. The service, though slow, is friendly & they have a great selection of drinks. There is a decent-sized outdoor patio and a couple of fire tables that parties up to 6 can eat at. When outdoor eating is allowed again, this will still be a go-to fav for my family. The best local place for authentic, delicious fish and chips... even the coleslaw is fresh and yummy. I attended a special event with a large group on Friday night at prime-time so I did not expect it to be as good as usual. Was I surprised! The food came out quickly, the service was great, and the perfectly done Icelandic Cod was on-point! Even though the place was very busy, you don't get a crowded feeling there as it is spacious and well-designed with lots of little side rooms, nooks n crannies, and two patio areas. It had been several years and my husband said remember that pub? Yep! Let's go! There is easy parking and We took a walk on the pier and then strolled over to the pub and loved it again! Great servers, fun pub ambience and great food. We were ravenous after a long drive, and so happy to be here and to be taken care of on our 43rd anniversary trip. Saw a man with clam chowder next to us, so I wanted it too! It was creamy, and full of rich clam flavor and lots of clams. They didn't make too much money on this cup for sure. The fish and chips are hand dipped and fried to perfection. We love calamari small and tender with light batter, and that's what we got with great homemade tartar sauce. Im a fan of fresh coleslaw without guar gum and fillers. This was fresh made today, crisp and had a perfectly balanced dressing. The decor is so London pub style. The fish and chips is good. You get a huge piece of fish. The batter is just right, not too thin and not too thick. It has that beer-battered flavor I look for in a fish and chips. I love that they automatically serve it with malt vinegar. The coleslaw is a creamy coleslaw and it's not too sweet, I like it. The chips aren't my favorite. They are a little thick and lacking in taste, at least according to me. They also have a fairly sizable beer selection and I can always find a good one to pair with my meal. One of my sons usually gets the burger. It's a huge burger and it's served with the same fries as the fish and chips. He shares my opinion on the fries so he usually doesn't finish them. My other son is a huge fan of the clam chowder in the bread bowl. It looked good but I didn't try it myself. The location is great, it's right on the water and you can look out over the boats. We always choose to sit outside, even during non-pandemic times. The quality of the food is consistently good, the location is great, and I love that we never feel rushed to eat and go. We can sit back, relax, enjoy the view, and have a good meal paired with a beer. That's pretty much everything I want in a Monterey Bay restaurant. read more

Very expensive for what it is. The tab for two diet cokes, two fish and chips, and a curried fries appetizer, plus 15% tip, was just a hair under $90. That's absurd for what it is. The outside tables have a lovely view over the Marina but the attraction ends there. The food is pretty marginal and seriously overpriced. The fries/chips are pretty bulk food service grade. The fish in the fish and chips had that "frozen for the last year" sponginess. Definitely not worth the touristy prices. read more
