On our way home from Sedona we decided to stop in Prescott for breakfast. You Yelpies told us this was a great place and you were RIGHT! First off, I love to sit outside whenever possible and this place has a couple little sidewalk tables...score! Secondly, our server, Evelyn, was wonderful! Our coffee and water never went dry, Evelyn was friendly, and the service was quick and efficient. Finally, the food...I always try the biscuits and gravy at a new place (I'm quite a biscuits and gravy snob) and let me say, these were the BEST BISCUITS AND GRAVY I've ever had! In addition, the thick slice bacon was perfect! I normally don't eat the breakfast potatoes that come with a meal and I give them to my hubby, but these were amazing! Really enjoyed breakfast at this cafe. My biggest hangup with little spots like this is that the coffee tends to be subpar and tastes like it was diluted. Have to say this was not the case--their coffee was strong and full of flavor! I ordered corned beef hash and eggs over medium and my hubby got the Jo's special. Both plates were very delicious- portions were large for the price as well. Service was prompt and polite. We didn't wait very long for our food either- or maybe it was because we were looking around at the decor. Lots of interesting things to look at in this great spot! This place is a tasty little breakfast treat! I traveled up to Prescott with some friends recently and one of the suggested the Lone Spur for breakfast. Located across from the square it looks like a tiny store front restaurant. It is much bigger on the inside than it appears on the outside. My first question was what kind of coffee they have. Farmer Brothers! WOOHOO! I am not a coffee drinker but I needed it and Farmer Brothers is all I will drink it is very smooth love it! So they get a star for that alone. The waitress was an older lady and you could tell this wasn't her first time at the rodeo if ya know what I mean. She knew her stuff and made recommendations. I decided on eggs, hash-browns with onion, whole wheat toast and bacon. I asked how many pieces of bacon come with that thinking 2 or 3. Her response 5! I said 5! She said yes 5. These were thick cut too! All this for about 9 bucks! Long story short they serve a great big huge breakfast! It is delicious as well. I tried my friends french toast and oh my they serve it dredged in corn flakes with side of banana & walnuts. It is a huge order as well. There was 20 min waiting even after peak time so my expectation went up, but it got completely crushed when I was waiting for another 30 min for the food and finally got the cold corned beef with soggy potatoes. I thought it took long time to get food since they cook sincerely and freshly, but what I got was just readymade potatoes soaked in oil. Nobody comes to get order or give check until you literally ask. If you just sit down and wait for eye contact, you will be there forever since nobody bothers to check the customers' basic needs. If food was great, I could give better star but as I said it wasn't fresh food even before discussing the tastiness. Good food! It was our first place to eat after we moved here, early on a Saturday morning. Super cute place. Tons of character. The server was a complete sour puss and turned us off from going back. Hey we all have a bad day, I get that, but damn get in another line of work. It felt like she went out of her way to be snotty. I asked if there was any gluten free items, and she poured on layers of sarcasm and acted even more bitchy. Trust me, that question cannot possibly annoy her more than it does me. This whole place, I'm a word, is meh. Meh food, meh service, more than meh prices. While we didn't wait long to be seated, I can see a lot of people waiting a while after us. If we had waited as long as some others, this would be a one star review. I ordered the large ham steak and eggs meal (came with toast and potatoes) and my wife ordered their "special" French toast meal (cinnamon raisin bread rolled in corn flakes). The first clue to how the rest of the meal would go was the high prices, the second was the service. I asked if I could switch out the toast for pancakes, I offered to pay the difference. I was told "I can sell you a pancake for the price of the pancakes. We don't allow any substitutions." Odd, but ok. The meals arrived and the potatoes were way over done and tasted like old oil. The large ham steak was dry and tough. My eggs and single piece of toast was good (hard to mess up toast) and the fresh strawberry jam was tasty. my wife's bacon was overdone and the "special" French toast was hardly special, nor worth the $13.00. I would have said something to our waitress, except she didn't come back to check on us until she dropped the check off. By then, I just wanted to leave. Never coming back here. Meh. read more

The Biscuits and gravy are mediocre, but the crazy western (I mean death is everywhere-skins, skulls, antlers-not for anti-hunting vegans) theme and the super kind and friendly service make the whole experience perfect. Who knew?! I was told this is the place to go for breakfast! The food was good, great little vibe in the restaurant, loved the decor. Our server was attentive, although, a little pushy on the upselling. It was uncomfortable to a point. The only complaint on food was the breakfast potatoes...very dry and bland. My folks and I came up to Prescott for an early medical appointment for my Dad. We decided to have breakfast here afterwards. As the waitress was seating us, I headed back to the restroom. You pass the kitchen and I noticed it was filthy. The restroom was filthy. If I'd been by myself, I would've left. We ordered breakfast and while we were waiting, I was noticing how dirty the walls were, the floors were gross. The waitress brings out our food. This waitress put two MOLDY biscuits in front of my folks. I immediately called her over and asked "is this mold?" They were huge spots of mold, the size of pennies. She said "Well that's funny, they just came in yesterday" as if that made it any better. Those biscuits went through how many sets of hands before they reached our table??? She promptly brought two mold-less biscuits to the table, or maybe she just scraped it off in the kitchen who knows. I had ordered the French toast and immediately decided I wasn't going to eat it because I couldn't check for mold. Mom didn't want me to embarrass her, but those kind of standards in a restaurant are unacceptable and DANGEROUS. I am livid that they tried to feed my (senior) parents fn mold! The grits were a gelatinous lump of cold cream -of wheat-like stuff, the country fried potatoes were just over-done dried up potatoes with only one onion chunk in it, no other seasonings. I liked this restaurant when it first opened around 2004. The food was delicious and the management was friendly and responsive.That changed under new management and expansion. I recently revisited it and I was greatly disappointed. COVID-19 or not there is no excuse for completely ignoring the customer in regards to taking orders promptly, coffee refills etc. Even getting the check was a chore. If you value your hard earned money then stay away from this place. It seems to rely solely on the fact it is conveniently located downtown. Not the one to write reviews and unsure if there's new ownership but anyways. We used to come frequently and always had great service and food quality was good. This morning though was a complete 180. Our server, Ken was a little too much. When our food came, his hands were slightly touching the food on the plate. He also informed us that they were out of country potato's (that came with what we ordered) and gave us a substitution without asking. Had we known we would have ordered something different. With that being said, my husband's breakfast didn't taste right and the meat tasted off. The breakfast I had ordered wasn't accurate either but we just let it go because we were in a slight rush and didn't want to deal with sending it back. We overhear the same thing happen with a nearby table with something they ordered not being available and a substitute brought out without asking and they didn't seem pleased either. It's fine if you're out of something but you need to ask the guest what they would like to do. Not just assume a substitution is fine. Then when it came time to pay, we handed him a card and he kept asking us if we had cash which clearly we didn't otherwise we would have paid by cash. He had trouble running the card on their device and it took him what seemed like 15 minutes to figure it out. However, during this time of us waiting for our card to leave he was trying to multitask in helping other tables. Eventually he comes back and we look at the receipt and notice he ran our card for another tables order. Already annoyed, we let him know and it took another several minutes to void it and get it figured out. When he comes back, we didn't receive the voided receipt of the other tables breakfast we paid for. When we asked the manager upon leaving, we STILL couldn't get the voided receipt because they said it was a privacy issue with the other tables last 4 of credit card number showing. Which is funny considering our cards privacy wasn't handled correctly. So we left with it being unresolved and will have to dispute with the bank if the charge doesn't fall off. Really disappointed with the experience and how it was handled. Won't be returning. read more

Great breakfast/lunch in a cute little town!! We were a party of 5 and we were seated on a Saturday morning in about 10 minutes. Food came out within about 10 minutes of ordering. My mushroom Swiss burger was one of the best burgers I've ever eaten and I've eaten some burgers in my day. The kids enjoyed the pancakes (huge portions even the short stack), the corned beef hash and the breakfast burrito. Our total was only $56. What a deal. Great place! read more

I would rate 3 stars on Service alone. Not fast dining by any stretch, 30 minutes for breakfast seems a bit excessive in my opinion. The onion rings were pretty delicious, but overall just about everything lacked flavor. Maybe that's because my taste buds were burnt off by the awkwardly flavored Bloody Mary, maybe it was too much horseradish, pepper or tomato but something was off, I couldn't put my finger on the flavor but it wasn't pleasant.
