Server was nice and polite but she brought the bread and forgot about soup and salad ( not a busy time). Just stopped in for a quick bite and beer. It is evident why very few guests. Say at bar top. Dirty dishes stacked around. Not inviting area to dine. Bartender greeted and let know was busy. Eventually got a beer. Was able to order wings. Bread was served. 2 different managers walking around made no attempt to help clean up area or direct anyone else to do so. Got wings in a timely manner. Took a bite of one of the drums and a bit dry but ok. Realized did not get buffalo sauce that comes with. After about 5 minutes get bartenders attention and she brings buffalo sauce. I attempt to eat one of the flats and it is actually almost hollow inside due to being extremely overcooked. Check the rest of the flats and they are all in same condition. Sit for another 5-8 minutes and get bartender attention again. She apologizes and offers to make new order. I decline and ask for tab. She says I will get a manager. She goes to back and returns a couple minutes later with the check but no manager? Wings were removed but was charged for the beer that I drank about 20%. Hi Y'all! I'm back with another much unanticipated review! (As opposed to the predictable anticipated version, which I admit I don't represent well.) In any event, The evening was one of those special occasions that don't come around very often, which in my case means that my kid took me to Dinner, I still paid, but he took me, as in his car, a gesture in good faith to show his appreciation for having me as his mom. So, I chose to go to Longhorn Steakhouse, I had been to Longhorn a handful of times, albeit different locations, still 'Longhorn' none the less and for the most part I always associated it with good food and good service, if not a bit pricey. The reason for giving it only 3 stars was primarily based on the chef not delivering on what the menu promised. But maybe it wasn't his fault. Although the night air was a bit chilly, and the wind rather brisk, I was glad to be getting out after a long week. For a Friday night, I was surprised to notice that the place wasn't packed, and even better, there was no wait to be seated. I personally prefer a more intimate 'out of the way' setting, so I was thankful my daughter in law spoke up and asked if we could be seated at the booth tucked away in a corner of the room with a lovely view of the fireplace. It lended a warm and inviting feeling to the overall space as well as a better vantage point for 'people watching'. I found the quick service better than average and I'm certain the waiter introduced himself, I just don't remember what his name was. This is important. If you're my waiter and I remember your name, you've made an impression and are more likely to be tipped well. The Waiter with no name was pleasant enough and I was impressed by the attention he showed us in making sure our drinks were refilled and that he asked how everything was. I like attentiveness that doesn't go overboard. My son and I ordered the 12oz Prime Rib his preference being cooked 'well done' and as for myself, I like my meat a little pink, which to me means medium to medium well. We all had a choice of a salad ( House or Ceaser), or an additional side to substitute . We each had a salad. Not too much to say about salad. Except what you put on them. Thats what really differentiates one salad from another. Dressing. I prefer to ponder who thought up to call it that. I'm strange that way. It may seem sublime, but I find it deeper than that. Before deciding on our main course , we ordered up the appetizers. One of white cheddar stuffed mushrooms which for me gets a ratting if 'okay', and the second choice being some type of shrimp 'do dad', ( obviously I wasn't much impressed with the shrimp appetizer or I would have remembered it's name). Reference 'no name' waiter earlier. I personally found the shrimp appetizer to be a bit too 'spicy' for my sensitive taste buds, but the kids didn't comment and instead gobbled them up without hesitation while my sons wife kept ordering sweet tea refills. The main course arrived in short order and was brought out to us piping hot, fresh from the kitchen by what I can only assume to be the 'kitchen girl', (nice of her to bring it to us but again that 'no name' thing), and wasn't sure if she would be getting part of the tip or not and found it rather inappropriate to ask, however, that did not stop my daughter in law from asking for 'A-1 sauce' *Side note; evidently no one ever told her that some chefs take personal offense to this request. Having said that we continued on with our meal and noticed right away that my sons Prime Rib was anything but 'well done', he found it very undercooked, ( I found it to be 'sub prime'), but he did not send it back, and ate it anyway, ( I assumed that maybe he was a little embarrassed by the A-1 request made earlier), And while I must complement the expeditious service and attentiveness of our waiter, I was somewhat disappointed with my choice of the Prime Rib. I feel it was misrepresented in the menu by saying 'melt in your mouth' because clearly this was not the experience I was having . I personally found my serving although cooked to the 'medium' state I requested, it was more on the 'tough and chewy' side rather than the 'melt in my mouth' sensation referenced in the menu that prompted me to order it in the first place. The hi-light of the table talk was when the waiter asked us how many containers we would be needing and my sons wife chimed in, '3 and 1/2' !‍ All in all it was an enjoyable evening and felt good to be in the presence of loved ones that love me back every bit as much. After going through some recent health issues, I looked at my recent Yelp reviews and realized that a good number of them were health related. So, after snagging a promotion at work recently I decided to celebrate by taking myself out for a nicer than usual meal while also getting my latest restaurant review. Unfortunately, with the side of town I was on there really wasn't anything local that I hadn't already reviewed - or at least nothing that really drew my interest. So, after looking around for a bit I spied this LongHorn Steakhouse and realized I'd actually never been to any of this national chain's locations. So, I decided this would be the place. Located in front of Castleton Square Mall, LongHorn Steakhouse was practically the definition of a "perfectly fine" restaurant. It neither blew me away nor really did anything wrong - the service was fine, the food was fine, the prices were slightly higher than I usually go but mostly fine, and the atmosphere was generally pleasing. As you arrive, you'll notice they have a row with several accessible parking spots. They also have a very nice, ADA compliant concrete ramp, complete with rails and the surface accommodations for those with visual impairments. They have a double-wide, double entry arrangement where you enter toward a hosting station. You are then seated in either a table or a booth. They seemed genuinely surprised this was my first visit, though were determined to make it a good one. For the most part, they did. I was seated promptly at a comfortable 4-top table. The tables are situated very nicely for wheelchairs. There's plenty of room and easily a larger power chair could fit. The interior is cozy, warm, and intimate with relatively soft country music playing overhead. Given this is a country-themed steakhouse, that's thematically appropriate. Being a steakhouse, they emphasize steaks with a few other sandwiches, salads, and an array of appetizers and other items. I contemplated a steak, but ended up going with their steakhouse bacon cheeseburger. I will admit I don't usually order "cheese," but I didn't see an option for plain and decided not to raise an issue. It comes with seasoned fries and the burger is cooked to order. In my case, this meant medium-well. Of course, I ordered my usual unsweetened iced tea. The orders also come with complimentary bread. My server was Dennis and he was perfectly fine. See, there's that theme again. He served everything in a timely manner and checked in regularly but not intrusively. I did feel a bit rushed - while my meal was done, I was reading a bit and thought it a bit pushy to arrive with both a check and a refill to go. I love the idea of a refill without asking, but making it to go was a bit presumptive. But, again, he was perfectly fine. The food was good. The burger was a little off with texture (this means little pieces fell off the patty - which should not happen). However, the taste was fine. The fries were good, perhaps a bit on the smallish size in terms of order. The entire bill came in just over $16 without a tip. The atmosphere was initially quite pleasing, though I did notice that as the crowd started to form it definitely got louder. That makes sense, I suppose, but it is a weird contrast with the intimacy of the setting. The difference between a 3 and a 4-star for me is often "Will this place end up on my rotation?" I honestly don't think LongHorn will. If there's one thing that was missing it was that sense of hospitality. While one hosting person, in particular, was very welcoming - for the most part the service never really went beyond functional/competent. I can instantly think of multiple restaurants at the same price point where I get that feeling. As someone who cares about service as much as I do food, I'm more likely to go where I'm going to feel a bit more welcome. However, if I were in the area and wanted a finer meal this would be perfectly fine. I also wouldn't hesitate if someone wanted to meet here - especially during an off hour when it's quieter. It's good to snag another restaurant review, though I wish the experience had been a bit more positive. Next time, I stick to my values and look for a local joint! read more

Sooooo... this dining experience actually started out BAD!!! Like, my husband and I sat for over 10 minutes before being acknowledged. Then, once we were acknowledged, we were told that there was no server working our seating area. My husband was starving, so he was frustrated, so we decided to leave. However, the manager noticed that we were leaving without being served, and he inquired what was happening. We explained what we'd experienced, and the manager said that HE would be our personal server if we stayed. Not only did he provide excellent service, but he also comp'd one of the meals (and we specifically said that we were NOT looking for that), but he said that he wanted our return business. My partner and I went here a few days ago. We were put on a waitlist and after waiting a half hour we were sat at a table that had so much trash in one side of the booth my partner sat next to me instead of across from me. The waitresss was exceedingly rude, and became nearly hostile when I ordered a margarita. I am a petite woman, but in my thirties, and she was so convinced I gave her a fake id that even after she got her manager, who confirmed it was real, and I am indeed old enough to order alcohol, she gave me the lightest margarita in existence with a scowl. I paid $13 for strawberry juice that might have been next to tequila in a past life. When she brought us bread she just dropped it on the table and left. My partner ordered a soup that was never brought out. His filet was perfectly cooked; my ribeye was ordered medium rare and delivered far past well done. My partner wanted to see the manager and didnt want me to tip at all, but I at this time was still giving her the benefit of the doubt that maybe they were understaffed. We were her only table until we were nearly ready to go; the table sat across from us she was chipper and upbeat to, so it was just us she was being awful to. Presumably because she thought, despite her manager confirming I was indeed over THIRTY(I have gray hair!!) I gave her a fake ID because it was out of state. Also, she decided the small tip that I gave her (I shouldn't have tipped AT ALL) wasn't enough so she wrote a 1 in front of it. This was the first night my partner and I both had off together in months, and it was an absolute nightmare of a date and neither of us enjoyed it. I don't know if our waitress was having a bad night or what, but her hostility was not warranted nor appreciated. I also work in a restaurant and could never imagine treating a client, who I rely on to tip me, this way. We had a very positive Curbside to-go experience with Longhorn Steak House on April 1. We've had a Longhorn gift card stuck up on our bulleting board for a few months, so this shelter in place time seemed like a great opportunity to go ahead and use it. Please note that you cannot order steaks for carryout. It's not on the menu. However, three of us ordered grilled and batter-dipped shrimp platters. They were delicious. The eight-count grilled shrimp was savory and perfectly flavored. My husband ordered a rack of ribs and was absolutely thrilled at how perfect they were. He just kept repating, "the meat is just falling off the bones." When we pulled up in the parking space, an employee stepped to the car, asking us to verify our last name so he could retrieve our order. He brought us our food in two large bags and secured our gift card to run it inside. He came back to the car for us to sign our copy and wished us on our merry way. The atmosphere was nice and my waitress was very friendly. We went at the perfect time (6:30 PM). It was getting very crowded about 7:30. My steak was the right size and the sides (Mac and cheese and creamed spinach) were delicious. The spinach was a bit too creamy and needed more spinach. I had a gift card, but I'd go back again. They say there's a first time for everything, and last night was a first. I have never had a bad meal or a bad experience in the many times I've dined at a Longhorn Steakhouse. They are usually one of my favorites of the chain steakhouse varieties. And I actually considered some other places last night, but because I had a long, difficult day at work, I decided I wanted to go somewhere where I would get a great meal. I used their great app to order curbside to take home. Now, I ordered a 9 oz Filet with Parmesan Crust cooked medium, I ordered a Lobster Tail with it, in which I specified "no seasoning". I got a baked potato with everything but green onions. And I got a garden salad with Ranch Dressing. Now, I ordered it around 7:20pm to be ready at 8:25pm. I had to be somewhere at 9pm. I arrived and went into the curbside area and checked in. However, I waited and waited. Finally, 15 minutes later, my order arrives and naturally I was late getting to my destination as a result. The steak was a TERRIBLE cut of filet. I think the extra two ounces from the smaller filet, was probably fat and grizzle. It was Medium Rare (very red, instead of pink). The Lobster Tail was seasoned, so I had to do my best to wipe it without losing the flavor. The Baked Potato Toppings were all in one container together, and yes it had the green onions in it, so I could not eat any of it, and basically had to use the butter from the bread to put on my potato. And if they gave me a thimble of Ranch for my salad, that would be putting it generously. The best part of the meal was the loaf of bread I got. Needless to say, I will be going back to the 86th Street location at Trader's Point the next time I go to Longhorn. I will not be back to this location. Very disappointed. I don't usually frequent chain restaurants, but I was given a giftcard for LongHorn, so I made a special trip to visit last week. Overall, it was better than expected. It definitely has the chain vibe with generic menu options that you'll find anywhere, but I thought the atmosphere was a bit nicer than some other big box steakhouses. I was expecting blaring country music with peanuts all over the floor and was pleasantly surprised to find a nice, quiet atmosphere with friendly, helpful servers. My daughter and I thought this place was terrific, which is especially gratifying for me since my daughter had been fighting me about going here. We had the mushrooms with cheese appetizer, which was simply amazing. She had a burger, which she said was delicious, and I had a 6 oz steak with rice, shrimp scewers , and a baked potato. They served warm bread to start with. Everything was wonderful! Even with cocktails, it didn't "break the bank" to eat here. The parmasan crusted chicken is really good. It's creamy and very flavorful. Don't order if you don't like cheese. It came with choice of two sides. You can choose from baked potatoe, sweet potato, mashed potatoes, seasoned french fries, rice pilaf, or steamed broccoli. I ordered the sweet potatoe with butter and cinnamon on the side and steamed broccoli. I wanted the steakhouse mac n cheese (A signature side for an upcharge) but figured I better not since the parmasan chicken was full of cheese. The perfect strawberry margarita-Long pour is huge and yummy. It's big enough for two people. The parmasan chicken is also big enough for two people. The service was excellent. This is normally our go to for a mid-priced steakhouse. The steaks are seasoned well, so they are flavorful. They also are decent quality, so are pretty tender. The cooks do a good job. We have been once or twice when service was slow, but for the most part / most of the time the service is really good. And Service has always been very friendly. I enjoy the bone-in ribeye. The chopped salad was wonderful. The lettuce was fresh and crispy as were the cucumbers and tomatoes and croutons. My husband ordered the filet mignon. It was either a low quality of steak or wasn't trimmed correctly. It had entirely too much fat and gristle on it. The drinks we ordered from the bar were an old fashioned. I'm not sure that there was anything other than alcohol in it because it was too strong to even drink. We had to ask for a small glass of pineapple juice to mix with it just to make it tolerable. Worst dining experience by far. Came here with a medium sized group for an 80th birthday celebration. My husband and I normally don't support corporate chain restaurants with no personality. We prefer local, mom and pop type places, with prices that reflect the quality and quantity of the food served. We waited over an hour for our food to arrive at the table. Our children were begging us to feed them as the first plate arrived. We expected the other plates to come soon after, but were nowhere to be seen. When the last plates were served, most in our group had already finished eating. I was most offended by the fact that this place charged me $14+ for an order of chicken fingers that I could have paid $5 for elsewhere. The amount of food was laughable, especially for a "large chicken finger plate". There was not much difference in size between the adult finger plate and the child's portion. But the child's plate included oranges, and mine did not. Everyone was so perturbed by the end of the meal, all the children were causing a scene, after being stuck in a restaurant for two hours. We spent the last 45 minutes of our visit sitting around, desperately waiting for pay and get out of there. We will never be back. My father and I took my grandmother and mother here for Mothers Day and let's just say I was less than impressed. I took it home and attempted to perform edible surgery on it to make it better but that attempt was in vain.
