My sister & I both ordered The Longhorn Porterhouse steaks but we both agreed that their porterhouse steaks were not true porterhouse steaks due to the thickness of the steaks. A normal T-Bone steak is 1 inch thick and a true Porterhouse steak should be 1.5 inches thick and today our Porterhouse was only 1 inch thick so it was only a T-Bone being sold as a Porterhouse steak. I was treated like furniture on Mothers day of all day's I was very disappointed regarding an experience I had at your restaurant on Mother's Day. Unfortunately, this is the second time I have experienced poor service at this location. While sitting at the bar area, several employees passed by me multiple times without acknowledging me or offering assistance. After waiting for quite a while, I finally had to stop one of the staff members myself and ask if I could place an order. After placing my to-go order, no one checked back with me to ask if I needed a drink, water, dessert, or anything else while I waited. Later, my buzzer went off indicating that my order was ready. I waited several minutes before asking an employee about it, and I was told that my food was not actually ready yet. When I explained that my buzzer had already gone off, I was told, "That doesn't mean it's ready," and that they were still waiting on the steak. That response was frustrating and confusing as a customer. If the buzzer is activated before the order is actually prepared simply to maintain service-time standards, that creates a misleading experience for guests who are already waiting. We ordered the outlaw rib eye (overcooked to medium however we ordered medium rare), appetizers, and the sirloin and shrimp combo. First, the food wait took a significant amount of time at least a 40 minute wait for our entrees to come out, when they came out it was average at most - the broccoli was soggy and feels like it was just thrown in the microwave and the food seems like it's been sitting long in a warmer. I had really talked the place up based on my lunch experience and the good I got. dinner was nothing like lunch. I always get the 8oz burger for lunch and decided to get it for dinner. so did my fried. what we got was the smallest 1/2lb burger I have ever seen. I was in complete disbelief. My 9 oz filet and lobster tasted great. My wife had a sirloin and the steak was over saturated with sodium. As a diabetic and AFIB problems, too much salt can send you to the hospital. So this probably the worst experience I had at Longhorn and normally it's great with my wife and I. My party and I got sat down took the waitress 30mins to get us sweet tea, oh and my guest asked for coffee and the waitress comes back saying that there no coffee and then took another 30mins to just get her sweet tea. Have I mentioned that still haven't took any of our orders. So literally waiting a hour for just taking out orders. No bread and only drinks. If you have a job, do not go there for lunch, usually me and my wife love the service, love the food, but today we went there and it was horrible. It took them 15 minutes to come and get our drink orders. When they brought us our drinks they had forgotten the straws and told us that they would be back but they never showed back up. The woman who seated us was very kind and warm. We were seated promptly and a waitress arrived shortly after. We did not wait too long for our appetizer or drinks. The Mai Tai was very good. We ordered the Wild West salmon to start, and it always delicious. It's served with slices of peppers. I like to take a of 2 shrimp, 2 pieces of pepper, dip it in the ranch sauce, and eat it in one bite. The Long Horn salmon is my favorite. I order this with the Brussels sprouts. The quality of food prep, the taste and flavor of the foods, the consistency of the food from one visit to the next and the high level of service each time I visit all the things that bring me back to my local Longhorn Steakhouse. Whether it's lunch, dinner, cocktail hour or a combination this place is hard to beat. Lunch is a breeze to get in and out, and the food can't be beat. If I'm looking for something light the Longhorn salmon is my go-to. The burgers are outstanding and the steaks can't be beat at this price point. Have not had the occasion to try a Longhorn Steakhouse elsewhere, but when traveling I would certainly give one a try. Great job Gulfport, keep it up. read more
