Never got to eat because manager made an error with reservation and then laughed it off. We had 16 people coming in for a birthday dinner (for a 91 year old) from up to 3 hrs away. Called in the reservation the night before and manager took the reservation. Showed up early to no reservation. The manager who took the reservation made no apologies, couldn't articulate what had occurred and laughed it off stating we could wait for an hour and we might get a table. I get the waiting part and that mistakes are made. But his attitude failed to meet the basic standards of customer service. Reflects poorly on the chain. read more

We were in Scranton while driving north on Route 81 - heading home from a short trip down south. We wanted a good sit-down dinner. Long Horns seemed like a good choice in the area, so we have it a try. As we had been driving since the early morning, our appetite was not ready for a large meal, so we ordered light. My wife ordered a bowl of soup and I ordered a hamburger and a coffee. The food was good. It was just what we needed. What we didn't need was to be forgotten about or ignored - that is the impression we got. The sugar bowl did not have any regular sugar in it - which I like to add to my coffee when the coffee is hot. By the time someone came by to ask if our meal was alright, my coffee was "not so hot" anymore. When I mentioned that there was no sugar in the bowl, she got me another sugar bowl - this one had packets of sugar in it. Now I had sugar and luke warm coffee. No offer to get me a fresh cup was made. There we 3 people we interacted with during our recent visit: the waitress who took our order and gave us the bill a young lady who brought the meal out to us and got me the second sugar bowl, and the manager who came to apologise to me when he found out that they had run out of the dessert I had ordered. So I chose another dessert, which he offered without charge.. Thank you, Mr. Manager. Staff was friendly, just not very attentive. Maybe they were just busy. While in the area, we'll be checking out different restaurants and bypass Long Horns. read more

We are LongHorn regulars! The service is fantastic, the waitresses treat us like family, the prices are affordable and the quality of the food is the best we've had from a chain restaurant like this. The only complaint is the long wait on the weekends.. But I guess that's just a sign of how great this place really is. read more

Friendly, attentive and her attention to detail was impeccable. She noticed mistakes made by the kitchen and took proactive steps to correct them before we had to say anything. She knew the menu. Made good suggestions that were very helpful. We came back for lunch the following day asked to be sat in her section (she told us her schedule) and had the same outstanding service for lunch. Totally surprised by this place! To start with, the warm multigrain bread is very good. The salads came out fresh and crisp and the dressings were excellent. Then the salmon dinner over rice was delicious! Very fresh and seasoned and cooked perfectly. The side dishes were fresh vegetables seasoned well. I wanted to get on the call ahead seating. Waited on hold for 22 minutes while I drove up there. The wait was 1.5 hours. I told the manager I was still on hold and he did not give a crap. If they answered the phone I would not have driven up there. It was not fair to me as a customer to waste my time and money going there. I will never give them any of my money ever again. It sad how little they really care for the customer to even think that a 22 minute hold time is ok. I ate here with my daughters Girl Scout troop. 7 girls, 2 adults. The waitress was fantastic, she made sure the girls had full drinks, she checked on us enough but was not overly intrusive. Stopped in on a Tuesday night for a quick bite. Very nice place, clean, ate at the bar, bartender was very nice. I had the T-bone, wow overseasoned, was tremendously salty. Most steaks I have I always feel less is better, if you have a great cut of beef the flavor will come out without pouring a ton of salt or trying add smoke flavoring. Bread was warm and good, had a mixed green salad that was good and a sweet potato that was excellent. Although the bartender was nice and so was the server, I could hear the staff either bored or unintrested in anything were loud in the back. Hesistant to go back, I have been to the outback and the t-bone I had here reminded me of the smoked flavoring they use instead of just grilling a good cut of meat. This was mine and my husbands second dining experience at Longhorn in the last few months. We had an amazing server Chris N. Without a doubt one of the best servers we have ever had. She was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. She could tell we weren't there for a quick meal and our apps, salads and entrees came out at a nice easy pace. We never had a back up of food on our table. We both had the Outlaw Ribeyes Rare with an added lobster tail. They were both cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant, and highly recommend the call ahead seating. We call an hour before arrival and we have only had to wait 10 minutes tops. I always try to avoid chain restaurants, but I've never been disappointed with a meal from Longhorn. I love their white cheddar and bacon stuffed filet. The table-side steak sauce is a must! Luckily the first time I ordered it the waiter explained the process. The dish contains a 500 degree coal and then they add garlic, orange rind and rosemary (might also be other herbs) and then their steak sauce. Unfortunately no other waiters or waitresses ever explain it. I wish they would all make a point to because it's a really nice touch and makes the whole "table-side" aspect of it complete. read more

We traveled 30 minutes to find out that we had to wait 45 minutes because our name wasn't on the waiting list. What a noisy, busy atmosphere! The main focus is-you guessed it-steak-so come prepared to choose some type of beef. But, I will say, there are offerings for vegetarians. They can order a sampling of sides. The decor is pure kitsch, something out of a bad old West garage sale and quite hokey as are the personnel. They line-dance, peanut scraps are thrown on the floor and don't expect to quietly talk. But if you want a piece of beef at a modest price, moderate service, this is the place to go. My mother and I were staying in the area and needed a good place to eat at after a long drive. We couldn't have picked a better place. It was very busy and we have about an hour or so wait but it was totally worth it. The waitress was super nice and it was obvious that she was working very hard to get her job while they were that busy. I got a burger and it was one of the best I've ever had. My mother ordered a filet and it was so tender she didn't even need her knife to cut it.She had the watermelon margarita to drink and said it was great. Today we came in for the first time ever. 4 adults and 3 kids. We were seated quickly even with the restrictions of placement for COVID. Our server Jessica was friendly and mostly helpful but walked away quickly while some of us were still talking to her..ok..that's fine. We ordered 2 margaritas, a strawberry 1 and a mango 1. When we got them...the entire bottom of the drink was salt...the same salt around the rim but I'm talking like and entire sugar packet worth. So our first sips from the straw were basically nothing but salt . My friend sent the strawberry one back and I managed to drink the mango one as long as I pulled the straw away from the bottom. The majority of us got steak, lobster tail, and broccoli. 2 out of 3 lobster tails were good but mine was very tough and over done. 2 of the kids steak was supposed to be med rare..but were very rare in the center, to the point where we had to give him half of our NY strips because we weren't comfortable with him eating the rare one. Also the majority of the sides, broccoli and sweet potatoes were cold when they came out...to the point the butter wouldnt even melt on them. I'm usually not one to complain but working in the food industry, I know how things run and for 103$ plus tip and another 80$+ and tip... it definitely was not worth it and we probably will not go to another Longhorns. Next time we will choose local. This review would honestly be a 1 star if I wasn't taking in consideration working out the kinks when opening after covid. read more

We like to have our family New Year's Eve dinner at this LongHorn. Needless to say it was very crowded. We were told the wait would be at least an hour to 1.5 hours. We e were called in a little over 30 minutes. The porterhouse for 2 was prepared perfectly and the steak sauce was made at our table was great ( and we don't usually even like steak sauce) Our server Tim was attentive and kept bring my daughters their bottomless iced teas. My husband, young son and I went for an early dinner on a Tuesday night. Good thing we went early because an hour later there was a crowd at the door! I've been to this particular restaurant a number of times and have always enjoyed the food but I usually have the same thing. Tonight I chose something different, a special, and was disappointed. The meat was overcooked and waaaay over peppered so when the waitress came to see how we liked the food, I explained and she immediately asked if I wanted something else. I did and she took care of it without question. The service was beyond compare. All of the staff are friendly (even as they are just passing the table on their way to another!) Always a smile or a nice comment. The meal I chose as a replacement was delicious and cooked perfectly. Great steak and mushroom risotto! To top it off, they comped my meal entirely!!! At lunch today, had a Flo's Fillet & Lobster tail. It was very good but the Lobster looked like a short, very small. The fillet was also small, supposed to be 11 oz, but after cooking looked like an 8 oz. Nothing like the picture(s). I'm a big guy and would have been much happier with a 20 oz steak, or bigger. I came into the restaurant this evening which I normally do when I'm visiting the area because it's relatively close to my hotel. I opted to sit at the bar because I was dining alone. I sat there for 15 minutes before I decided to get up and walk out. I stop by the hostess stand to let her know that her bartender had ignored me and didn't even acknowledge me while sitting there. I know she saw me because when I was standing there talking to the hostess she was looking over at me. I don't like to make things racial but don't know how else to explain it. It's sad that people still judge you on the color of your skin and assume you can't afford it. Didn't want to drive to the casino to Ruth's Chris but that's where I ended up at. Needless to say if a restaurant employs people who do this to individuals who have patronize your business several times before I will no longer visit that restaurant.
