This restaurant is on the smaller side so the only note is that seating is limited for larger parties. The interior of this place was extremely cute and girly vibes! Love the aesthetic of this restaurant! I ordered coffee and the Eggs Benny. The coffee...I could not get enough of! Freshly brewed and very delicious! My daughter ordered the mimosa flight and I had a sip of the original mimosa and it delicious! I had the eggs Benny and the eggs were jammy and absolute perfection! Once in a while I like to treat myself by having breakfast by myself at Mandy's. For being a stay at home mom/foster parent . Mandy's it's just a place to relax , enjoy my coffee while waiting for my meal and watch a movie. However, I had the country scramble which was good but started at room temperature and quickly went cold. The potatoes were cold from the start and caused the eggs to get cold. And my grandson ordered the churro waffles with eggs. My chorizo egg scramble was amazing. It had potatoes underneath cooked to perfection, cheese, chorizo, and eggs all scrambled up and on top of the potatoes. Very very very good! This is the first time review. We found Mandy's Café looking around for the Costco in that side of town. We found it right across the street. Initially the place look really inviting. It was really nicely decorated on the inside and the waitress was sweet when she addressed this and basically told us to sit anywhere else was open. We didn't look up any pictures or reviews before going here so I decided to get the chicken and waffles and my wife decided to get the divorce Chilaquiles. We received the food and I was immediately disappointed. I had what was a very good looking chicken and waffle display however, on top of my waffle was a couple of kids chicken strips. I expected chicken whether it was a thigh or a couple of legs, but that's not what I got highly disappointing Basically a one star meal . However, it could've been a five star if I was a four-year-old.. Next was the divorced Chilaquiles, which was pretty amazing and would have gotten pay for out of five stars. The beat was tender. The chips had some soft and some hard inside to perfect combination. My wife liked her meal. She said it was better than ones we had before at another location in Bakersfield. Overall Mandys Café is probably a lot better than the chicken and waffles meal that they provided me. I think it could be a pretty decent place to go. I still haven't looked at reviews for this place. I wanted to make sure I had a raw experience before I based my review on other people's experience. I tried calling, but to no avail as it seems to be sent to a voice mail. I just ordered from your establishment via UberEats. I ordered the pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage and hash browns. I am thinking we have to request utensils as there were none so that gets a pass. There was no butter and no syrup. Pancakes should always come with syrup. Only reason I'm rating this place with 3 stars is because I felt my food was overly salted. I ordered a comb omelette which country potatoes and my omelette was a bit too burnt and salted so were my potatoes. My husband got a bacon avocado burger and it was delicious but again the fries had too much seasoned salt so he left them and my daughter got a half grilled cheese very dry and overly seasoned fried. Mandy's Café has a nice casual atmosphere with lovely fake white roses on one wall. My friend ordered French toast. It looked very good, had some fresh fruit with it, and was dusted with powdered sugar. I ordered rancheros. Both were good looking plates and the portions were generous but not too much. I had high hopes for my rancheros, but it was under-seasoned. Also, maybe a little bit of fresh pico or something would have elevated it. My friend and I were having a great conversation but we did have a bit of a wait from the time we ordered the food to the time we were served. I think ours were the only orders they were working on at the time, so this was surprising. Our server was very friendly, but didn't come to check on the flavor of the food and by the time she came to offer refills we were almost finished with our meals. The blandness of my dish, no salt on the table, a slow kitchen and a sweet but slow-paced server who didn't come back to see how the food was tasting are the reasons for only three stars. Maybe they were having a bad day; everyone does from time to time. We tipped our server well because when she came out for refills she was friendly. The prices are quite reasonable, so I may return to give them another opportunity. I wanted to give them more stars, but really didn't feel like I could. read more

A few co-workers recommended this place and I decided to come and give it a try. I have to say I am very happy with the choice. The ambiance is great, very calm and some music on the background. The place was very clean and the waitress was super attentive. I'm trying to stay on the healthier side of things so I was happy to see their menu had many choices. I have gone here several times over the last few years and this time it was just terrible. Started with the iced coffees, they all tasted like it was mostly milk. Next, the service was really slow and they weren't busy. Once we received the food the fries were cold and what put the cherry on top was when I ordered a grilled cheese and it was just 2 pieces of toast and shredded cheese, it was noticeable that they used the 2 pieces of toast instead of making an actual grilled cheese. This is such a cute place! Like a little hole in the wall. I didn't expect this place to be so good! I loved the breakfast here. The waffles were FIRE. The quality of food was great and the servers were super nice! My only complaint is the amount of wait time for your food. It's SO long! I think we waited about half an hour for our food. We looked around a realized everyone else's did too. It was a busy Saturday that we went. It seems like this place is very popular. The place is small, so I think they should consider expanding because of how much traffic they get. I was seriously in awe. I've loved in Bakersfield for several years and have never heard of this spot, so I was surprised. My children both finished their plates and that's very telling of a place because they hardly ever finish their plates!!
