I was not expecting this to be as good as it was. But YUM! I'm a believer in judging a Mexican restaurant based off their salsa, so I knew things were going well once I tasted their salsa. So delicious, and tasted very fresh. They provided a spicy and a mild salsa. Honestly, I don't think the spicy salsa was spicy at all. And I'm a wimp when it comes to heat. I ordered the lobster quesadilla... because who has ever heard of that? Not me! The lobster quesadilla was a bit pricey for mexican food, it was $18 - but as long as it's quality lobster, I don't mind paying a bit more. The server said that was one of their best selling items. SOOO happy I ordered this. It was more like a gourmet cheese quesadilla, with chunks of lobster in it. It was very filling as well. I could've easily split this with another person. I would say this place has a bit more of an upscale vibe. It's not your typical "Americanized" Mexican restaurant that looks like what Americans think Mexico looks like lol. This is probably my favorite Mexican restaurant I've tried in Indy. I didn't leave feeling heavy or greasy. It's a solid option in the Carmel/Indy area and I will be back for sure! read more

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant it is a nice upscale version to what you normally find. Make a reservation, there isnt a lot of seating and it fills up fast. I have had several things on their menu two of my favorites: the tacos gobernador is amazing and the morgons arroz con pollo is a simple cheezychicken rice dish that has a little spice. My wife loves the moma's vegetables its a fresh veggie medley that she gets with any meal that she orders. She jumps around quite a bit but also has loved everything. Blood orange habanero margarita is on point but does have a little warming effect on your throat so proceed with caution if you dont like spice ( they infuse habanero in the tequilla) If you are so inclined try the Billionaire margarita.... 350.00 let me know how it is. read more

I discovered that after Grubhub arbitrarily charged my PayPal when I ordered last night, even though my husband wanted to pay with his card at the restaurant. And, GH takes a cut, even if you pickup. Now the GOOD part. The food itself. The BEST chili relleno I've ever had. So fresh with a generous amount of cheese, and a beautifully light sauce. Will def get again. More upscale Mexican restaurant! Went to dinner with a friend So we started our evening with a margarita and a mojito. Friend got the arroz con pollo. She likes simple, delicious and not too spicy food. I ordered a green chili enchilada and a steak taco. The enchilada was great but I'll pass on the soft shell taco next time as it was tiny and the steak was tough. I ate it open faced since the lettuce and tomatoes would have fallen off. All in all a solid experience but not a wow factor one. That might change in the spring and summer since they have outdoor seating that looks nice, and doesn't face the parking lot. read more

Definitely my new favorite Mexican restaurant in town. And I have tried almost all of them because I love my Mexican food. Everything we ordered was fresh, delicious and served exactly the way we wanted. Is the price a bit higher than other places? Yes. But the quality ingredients and the sizable portion sizes more than cover the differences from other establishments. They have so many margarita choices (which is my favorite drink), that I had difficulty deciding. I ended up tasting all of the food we ordered at the table, and they were all delicious. On our way out, they took some fajitas to another table and I almost stayed and ordered more to eat. They smelled AMAZING. One thing is for sure - if I ever win the lottery, I'm going there first and order the Billionaire Margarita. Oh, and I have to give a shout out to our waiter Marco. He was so nice and helpful. Even when my 5 year old son was commenting about my "margalita", and my 3 year old threw a fit about her taco, THEN spilled her milk on the floor. This place was atrocious. The $15 guacamole was just a big pile of avocado chunks with no adjunct flavors to actually make it guacamole. The taquitos did not come with any of the sides mentioned on the menu. They were 100% taken from the freezer and microwaved! Very dry, bland, not deep fried. You're better off getting them from the grocery store. My husband's burrito was put together with canned and frozen ingredients. This place was so disgusting that I returned my meal and they didn't even question why. This was a sign that the staff is well aware of the quality of the food. Do yourself a favor and just go to Taco Bell - at least you know what you're getting there and saving some money. read more

The food is great. Expensive for Mexican food, but you can really tell the difference and it is worth price. What is so frustrating, it that we have ordered take-out 4 times over the last 3 months and every order has had a mistake. Ordering fajitas and not receiving tortillas. Ordering corn tortillas and receiving flour. Ordering and paying for and order of chips and salsa... you guessed it, not chips and salsa. Missing entire entrees that we paid for and are on the receipt. We will continue ordering food because it is tasty. But be careful to take the lid off every item before leaving the restaurant and compare with your oder. read more

Long story short: great food, subpar service. We were told our wait for a party of 3 would be 25 minutes, we waited closer to 45. Once we were seated it took close to 10 minutes to get water and longer for drinks. The Havana Margarita had great passion fruit flavor with a little kick to it. I also had the Langostino Quesadilla, it was such a great variation on the classic quesadilla with great lobster flavor. The salsas and guacamole are great too. We went here for Mother's Day Brunch and the meal was a hit! I had a steak burrito (Juanitos) and my wife and daughters had the crispy tacos. A churros and a flan were the perfect dessert. A couple of Suavecito Anejo's and the Mother's Day tribute was complete! Definitely try the queso and the dark salsa. Went to Los Arroyo for the first time with a group of friends. The restaurant was inviting and we were seated indoors at a table in a side room which was nice. The staff was friendly and efficient. Be warned they have some high dollar drink options so check prices before ordering. One of our party ordered a regular margarita and it was served in a rocks glass. The chips were fresh and hot. Of the two salsas served the red was very mild...one of our party described it was tasting like catsup. The green salsa was a hit with a bit of bite but not overly spicy. I ordered the Chicken Anaheim which was a generous portion so I had leftovers to bring home, along with some of the green salsa to spice it up a bit more. All in all we liked the food and I would probably eat there again and try something different. And although they closed at 9 p.m. the staff didn't try to rush us out the door even though we had finished our meal and were just chatting until 9:15 or so. If I were rating just the service it would be a solid 4...just wasn't that impressed with my entree. read more

Yes! Yes! And Yes! This place now sits atop my list for Indy Mexican food & drink. The chips & salsa were great! The guacamole was huge and tasty. The Cadillac Margarita is delicious and stout (meaning I could taste the tequila) and my entree of Maria's Enchiladas were fantastic. We very much enjoyed the experience. The service was prompt and very attentive. After we finished our meals, we moved to the outdoor seating and enjoyed another round (or two) of drinks before finally calling it a night. After reading on their website that the owner is from La Piedad, Michoacán I thought it would be worth a try. My husband and I stopped in for dinner on a Friday about 5:30 and were happily seated right away. DRINKS: We started with the Cadillac margarita and the tamarindo margarita. The Cadillac margarita was very good. They certainly did not skimp on the tequila in either one. The tamarindo margarita was also good, but a little on the sweet side. APPETIZER: We ordered the beef taquitos dorados and really enjoyed them. The shredded beef was very tasty and the taquitos were nice and crisp. ENTREES: I ordered the pozole and it was like a taste of home! The garnishes (lime, cabbage, radishes, onion, avocado) were exactly how I would prepare it at home. My husband ordered the tacos gobernador and he loved them. We both had the corn tortillas and they were hot and fresh. Our server, Elizabeth, was very attentive and friendly and gave us honest recommendations regarding the menu. She was great. My only complaint is that the prices seem a little high. They have a few other locations on the west coast and it looks like the prices are a little higher here in the Midwest. Ate lunch here today and enjoyed the Al Pastor tacos, rice and beans. The rice and beans were pretty standard for a Mexican restaurant. The beans were black beans which is a unique twist and are served in a tostada type of shell vs just on the plate or in a bowl. The ride looked like an ice cream scoop was used to scoop and put on plate. The Al Pastor tacos were amazing though! Great flavors and the portions were awesome. Most street style tacos don't give you much meat but the two tacos had plenty of meat and you can't mess up with the fresh cilantro. The chips and salsa was good...especially the medium salsa. At the table next to us the gentleman had a steak fajita. When we asked about it, he said he was from Texas (so evidently he knows good Mexican/Tex-mex food) and he said it was delicious. They brought hot chips with two salsas. The roasted veggie salsa was outstanding. We ordered toe steak fajitas. We ate it all, and we were stuffed. It was seasoned well and incredibly tender. Service: 4 stars, Gustavo was kind and had good recommendations. They had run out of a dessert I was considering. Food: 3.5 stars -they did the flavorful black beans (like adobo grill used to do) instead of refried, which thrilled me. Enjoyed the salad with mango on top of the crab enchiladas. The rice was bland/dry. Guac and salsas were ok. I was pleasantly surprised after reading Yelp reviews. Price- 2 stars...wayyyyyy over priced. $4 for 2.5 tablespoons of guac? I feel my bill should have been 5-6 dollars less overall. $21 for an entree and a small sampling of guac? They get the carmel/business crowds so they probably don't think twice. Really nice Mexican in the Carmel area. Located at 116th/Illinois just off of US 31, Los Arroyos is a little higher end than your typical Mexican lunch joint. However, the upcharge was worth it. I paid $11 for a lunch-sized steak burrito, about 2/3 the size of a typical burrito. It was delicious and just the right amount of food. It is possible to enjoy Mexican and not instantly regret how much you ate! Of course, there's still also the complimentary chips that come with 2 types of salsa. Went here for a few drinks on a Thursday night. The atmosphere was great and we sat outdoors which was enjoyable. But I will say it took our server way too long to come back and check on us. Our drinks were empty and chips and salsa were gone and he was no where to be seen. None of the servers seemed to be aware that they served corona light- a staple at most Mexican restaurants. When we ordered queso he brought out a little basket of chips that were gone way before the cheese was and he never came back for us to get a refill.
