Small scale Mexican restaurant in Van Nuys. More of a taqueria than restaurant. One orders at the counter but food is brought to the table. Various agua fresca drinks along with soda fountain and bottled options. Chips with bean dip provided to those eating in. I ate the taco, enchilada and rellano combo. Taco was good with shredded beef. The shell was wider to reduce breaking. Enchilada and rellano were also good but a lot of cheese (should have ordered meat in the enchilada so that's on me). Excellent rice. My friend ordered a torta that came covered in salsa. The initial heat surprised him but he finished it. The torta was large so the rice and beans were not touched. I've been going to Los Trea Hermanos for 10 years. It has been a reliable.c neighborhood Mexican with very reasonable prices. I went today for the first time in several months and was shocked that the prices have been jacked up. Tableside guacamole is $18.99 (Chow Now shows it as $12.99). Grilled steak quesadilla is $18.99 (Chow Now shows it as $12.59). Most entrees have similarly been inflated by $6-$8. On top of that, they added a $1.99 service charge and charged more to pay with a credit card. Lunch for two people (two entrees and two sodas) was $70 after fees, tax, and tip. The food is still good, but I will be looking for a new neighborhood Mexican restaurant with more reasonable prices read more

We ordered delivery from Los Tres, realizing almost a little too late that they end their deliveries just after 6:30. Somehow, we were hoping it would translate to the food being destined to be eaten by us. Thankfully, we weren't burned that much. The order: Pozole with fixings and tortilla; lengua street taco; their basic chicken burrito; cheese enchilada Starting with the misses, the pozole was okay. The flavor was muted and the stock tasted like it didn't come from scratch. But it worked. The taco was fine. Adequate and full of meat. The burrito was supposed to be on their junior tier of portions - existing in the shadow of a bigger, deluxe version - but it was still a generous size for the price. The chicken was pulled and flavorful. The two enchiladas came in a full takeout tray. Plenty of lovely red sauce for the burrito and complimentary tortilla chips. Los Tres does not seem to sacrifice much quality for pre-inflation prices. A sizeable plus. We're happy to give this place another go - maybe in person, as their molcajete zacatecana seems most optimal if experienced at the restaurant. read more

Saw this place whilst at court, went in to try for lunch. The reviews are essentially spot on. The decor is nice and it's decent sized. The service was bad, the food was mediocre at best but at least a Yelp check in special was good. I was seated right at the entrance table where a disabled sticker is on, I asked to move. Server brought me my water. I mentioned my low carb diet and he immediately declared that they use regular oils and items and "sorry". He did not once offer to minimize carbs by removing certain things or seem like he cared. I ordered the bistek plate and stated no rice, beans or tortillas. I requested extra side salad instead. Food comes out, salad covered in tortilla strips. The meat is cooked however they please, (no ask how I want it) and did not taste great. I finished my water, fairly early, not one time did anyone notice or ask to refill it. I was so happy to pay and leave this place. We're in LA to have Christmas with our kids, so we wanted to have a nice dinner for them in the safety of their home. We ordered a burrito chimichanga and instead of being fried to a golden brown, it was soggy and limp and only a few pieces of chicken. We ordered two orders of Enchiladas Del Mar, described as "includes fish, Java and shrimp, topped with green onions, crushed red peppers and avocado. Served with a side of white rice and steamed vegetables." What we got was a large burrito with melted white cheese on top, not even one avocado piece and no rice. We ordered nachos which were not excellent, but good. We ordered two chicken enchiladas and the sauce tasted like nothing more than tomato sauce. All this for a whopping $86.29! I actually walked in today,.. they charged me 28 dollars for a burrito and some French fries.. kind of disappointed. Probably won't go back. I just did my Jury Duty & during break across the street from the Van Nuys Courthouse happens to be this Mexican Restaurant. From the name, it seems to be derived from that same Mexican Restaurant from the TV Series: Breaking Bad hahaha. After calling they finally answered saying they are closed/closed early and that they cancelled my order. Why would you take my order if you were planning to close early? Looking forward to some excellent California Mexican food (after living here for 30+ years and then moving eastward), so I found myself disappointed with the chimichanga burrito Los Tres Hermanos prepared. ($11.69) The massive amount of fried rice and plentiful pinto beans inside the tortilla made the chimi seem large, yet skimpy amount of chicken inside was smothered with a peppery tomato sauce that made what should have been a crispy chimi a soggy burrito. Chicken in the middle tasted moist; however, poultry tucked into the ends was blackened and burned. Frankly, the most disappointing soggy, least creative chimi burrito I've eaten - no sour cream, no melted cheese, no guacamole, no salsa for garnish. Sad. Others in our party ordered 2 chicken enchiladas ($12.59) that came with a side of rice and beans which were ok; 2 orders of enchiladas Del Mar that came without the menu-specified avocados and were just ok; and an order of nachos with cheese, beans, tomatoes and sour cream, apparently quite tasty. Food wise you'll find quesadillas, soups, various salads, some tortas, nachos, gorditas, burritos, tostadas and molcajete's, fajitas, some seafood dishes including a bunch of shrimp ones, and various combination plates. Drinks offered are various soft drinks, beers and mixed drinks, agua fresca's and more. Chips w/bean dip : They start you off with this here. It's free and the dip is not bad nor the chips. Not great either though. Carne en Chile de Molcajete :Steak or chicken strips in special house sauce. Served w/rice, beans, a salad and choice of tortillas. Good! Sauce is not too spicy but has a little kick. 1 taco & 1 enchilada combination: Hard shell taco with a choice of meat and enchilada choice of filling, with rice and beans. Simple enchilada, good taco, and the rice and beans are pretty good. Dos Tacos de Pescado Combo: Nice sized fish tacos with good texture, taste, and seasoning on the fish. Filled with lettuce, tomatoes, and coita and served with their rice and beans. Tacos fell apart basically so that was no bueno, but they were good. I also ordered onions, cilantro, amd chili for both orders, I got a baggie with two little slices of jalapenos, one tiny side scoup of onions, and one of cilantro. Although I liked the food I had, chile colorado and the few beers I had, the restaurant is loud, meaning you cannot not have a decent conversation without having to talk loud and at some points scream. They have live music which makes it even worse. The wait staff was good however, they seem to tend to the regulars more so than the new customers or families. This was evident as most were hanging out at the bar and trying to get the attention of your waitress was difficult most of the time we were there.
