As far as I remember, this place is always the fried chicken and Chinese food dual. There's a Popeyes in the same parking lot, so maybe originally they felt the threat from Popeyes and try to expand the menu. What ever it is, I can ensure you two things: 1 the approach works just fine! And 2. Their chicken is head to head with Popeyes. Yes that good. I always come in and get a Chinese combination, 1 or 2 items, and add a couple of pieces of fried chicken to my meal. And boy they master the art of frying. Practice makes experts and you can tell why. Besides fried chicken, many of their Chinese food items are also deep fried, or deep dried during the process. The BBQ pork here is my favorite. You can taste the freshness of pork. I often taste the weird small of pork at other Chinese take out, but not here. Juicy and just right. Chinese salt and letter wings is another my favorite. It's as good as sit down restaurants. Rest of the available dishes are really good as well. I've tried kungpao chicken, orange chicken, broccoli beef, etc. The amount is also huge. See pictures for proof. I usually split to two meals. Amazing mom and pop store that's worth a visit.

Gross, dirty, unkempt place. Nothing clean or good about this place. Please report it to LA county sanitation people or even the head office as this is absolutely

2 piece chicken combo (leg/thigh/wing) with fries (AMAZING CRISPY AND SALTED FRIES), dinner roll, and a drink

An intriguing mom & pop shop next to Popeye's, saying, "Louisiana Fried Chicken, Hongkong Style Chinese Food." I was like, "Is that a Chinese place that used to be a fried chicken place? Or is it a Chinese place that sells fried chicken?? Is that even real?" So I yelped it and it showed that it was the latter. I already know how Popeye is (which I like), but I'm always up for trying a new place, especially a mom & pop shop. So I stopped by and got a 2 piece combo (leg and thigh), with fries, dinner roll, & a drink. The lady told me it would be 15 mins. I said fine. Man, when it came out and I saw how pippin hot and fresh it was, I was so excited. I felt the fries and they felt hot, crispy and salted. I put a fry in my mouth. O m g. It tasted exactly how I felt. Crispy, hot, salted perfectly. The dinner roll was dinner roll. The leg and thigh were crispy, super tasty. It seemed that they cooked them when I ordered it. Put some hot sauce (which not hot) to add more taste. I'd be back for sure... I was eyeballing the Chinese food trays. I wanna try their 1/2/3 item combo next time.

We came here around 5:30PM and the traffic to get to Shrimp House was pretty bad. Found out that you can enter from Myrtle and from Live Oak. We were on Myrtle and went onto Live Oak thinking that was the only entrance.. that was a mistake due to the backed up traffic during the time. When we got there, we were seated at a table. It was pretty crowded, full of older people. The guests were friendly and seemed to be regulars of the place. When the waitress came to us, she took our order. We ordered: Popcorn Shrimp - Loved this sooo much! Reminds me of Sizzler. Popcorn shrimp was hot, fresh, and had a crispy batter! The actual popcorn bedding added to the theme :) 9/10 Ceviche - We got the Mexican style and it was good. Not as good at Kickin Shrimp, but it was a good appetizer to start with. 7/10 Clam Chowder - This clam chowder reminds me of Sizzler's clam chowder. It was creamy and thick, and had a few bits of clams. 7/10 Grilled Seafood Sampler - The fish was nice and flaky. Very flavorful with the seasoning that they used. The shrimp was nicely grilled. We were not a fan of the bell pepper that was on the skewer that bled into the shrimp itself. The flavor was a bit intrusive considering shrimp already has a light flavor. Finally the scallops were a pass. Just grilled, nothing amazing. 7/10 overall Shrimp Scampi Linguine - Not sure what the hype was about, but this was the most forgetful dish I had here. The linguini was a bit soft/overcooked, the fettuccini sauce was thick and not too cheesy, but more creamy, if that makes sense, and the shrimp was just shrimp (possibly the grilled shrimp) and was just drowned in the fettuccini sauce and lost any natural flavors it would've had. 3/10 Chocolate Lava Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream: Out of the disappointing Shrimp Scampi Linguini, the Lava cake made up for it. We do not usually get dessert, but we were sure glad we got this. Similar to the pazooki from BJ's, but a hot choco cake instead. I can do without the whipped cream though, since I don't like it too much. 8/10 Overall, this place is a small, quaint place for seafood. The appeal is the hometown feel, friendly service, all while providing good, affordable seafood.

Service was attentive and they checked up on us regularly. We ordered 2 dozen oysters ($1.50 each), the fish and chips ($11.50), mussels and clams ($10.50), and a beer. The oysters were fresh, mostly clean, and came with the usual accompaniments. My only minor complaint is that small seafood forks would have been nice to have available. The mussels and clams were the disappointment of the meal. While the broth itself was flavorful, the portion was downright sad. We received only 4 mussels and 4 clams total, and the bowl felt almost empty. The standout was definitely the fish and chips. Dare I say the best fish and chips I've ever had? The batter was well-seasoned without being overly salty. The fish was crispy, hot, flaky, and surprisingly not too greasy. The fries were also excellent, with a crunchy exterior and fluffy, mashed potato-like interior. I would absolutely order this again. Overall, for happy hour, come for the fresh oysters and fish and chips. Skip the embarrassingly skimpy bowl of mussels and clams.

Sweet . No way to just be like - hey, can I get my food? No - order ahead, and still wait in a line that is out the door because the Dodgers played an hour ago, and now the World Cup is on - ON FATHER'S DAY- and we don't want to pay more than one cashier during this craaaazy time. ‍‍‍ Received my food at 4:30pm (after being there at 4:15 and ALREADY SEEING IT SAT THERE), and I even told the person at the register "it feels cold," and she said "So sorry!" Also, no chili on the side. Or on the burger. It was just a mediocre double hamburger.....yay? My fish, which admittedly I dipped into on the drive home...? Not cooked. It was literally so gross I spit it out. The outside wasn't flaky/crispy - it was cold, moist, and uncooked. Because it touched the "wedges", all of it was thrown out. We ordered pizza.
