I went on a Sunday afternoon for a special date with my hubby. Free available parking. The place is demure with clean modern fresh atmosphere and pleasant calm instrumental music. The menu had options from different Asian kitchens and some Mexican ones. Our erver was caring and knowledgeable and helped us choose. We shared the orange chicken, panko Shrimps, yellow curry, fries, Love sushi roll, mango sticky rice, and a Thai ice tea. We ordered two sides of white rice. The food was delicious, the Orange Chicken was dreamy, it had a flaky airy crispy crust and a soft melty interior, the sauce was delicious and balanced between sweetness, tanginess and saltines. The Panko Shrimp was crispy, chewy, and light. It came with a yummy light sauce that paired perfectly with it. We got a mild curry with beefless and it was creamy and spiced to perfection and was cooked with onions, potatoes, and carrots. The fries were mild and pleasant and came with a flight of yellow, orange, and green Thai curry sauce. The Love sushi roll had mushrooms and was smokey and sweet and the avocadoes gave it a creamy feel, it was yummy on its own that we didn't need to dip it in sauce. The Thai ice tea with oat milk was rich and delicious and the mango sticky rice was perfectly sweetened. All the portions were very generous and the prices were reasonable. I think this might be my newest vegan restaurant, the flavors and textures are better than any non-vegan Thai place I've tried. I couldn't be more in love... with LOVE. Finally, making it over to this 100% plant-based must of a place known for its blend of unique styles, fusions, and flavor influenced by Thai, Japanese, and many other amazing cultures. This amazing chic organic food cafe is in an amazing two story shopping plaza on Santa Monica Blvd and Havenhurst Drive right in the heart of fellow great businesses (such as City Express Cleaners, Flowers - West Hollywood, Tasty Donuts, Yogurtland and several services above them on the 2nd floor). You can luck into street parking, but parking lot parking might be more of a game of chance. Once you're there, you can enjoy dining inside, intimate, warm, and well laid out or outside on their nature-y modern patio with lush green trees and plants around you. I met up with two of my favorite LA peeps and co-workers Sarah and Sarah lol, and we dove deep into the menu. Think traditional like Thai favorites such as garlic pepper "chicken," "orange chicken," curries, pad thai, spicy eggplant, fried rice, endless soups, a variety of other noodle dishes and beyond... Epic tacos, desserts, mac & "cheese," a large burrito and our go-to section for this first trip in under I Love Japan... SUSHI!!!! We definitely ate the menu choices up with our eyes ordering several rolls to share among the three of us. The Love Roll is perfect with literally three sets of rolls (including avocado, cucumber, and daikon. The Love Pillar and Mango Avocado rolls were two of the other choices, and each one JUST as good as the next. But when in WeHo, you have to try the Weho Roll - it's a complex roll that now has my heart. The spicy miso sauce on top really elevates the magic of all its ingredients. I kept picturing pairing it with some nice off dry Riesling or even a Gewurztramine, which balances spice and sweet, and it's great with a variety of Thai dishes, among others. My personal fav of the day! I order from Love Cafe at least once a week. I find the food to be delicious and tasty, though incredibly pricey. The best items by far on the menu are the crispy rice, pad see ew, and pumpkin curry. I've had other items on the menu that truly disappoint. The crispy rice is spectacular and if ordering takeout, I recommend microwaving for 20 seconds to make it taste as fresh as if you ordered it. The pumpkin curry is the mildest on the menu and so flavorful. This is a spot perfect for a vegan or vegetarian. There isn't much of an in-dining atmosphere, but they do have tables inside a fairly small dining room in a strip mall in West Hollywood. There is parking, too. I don't love how expensive this place is, but despite that, I still give it 5 stars since I love my go-to dishes. I've ordered the Tom Yum soup, which is overpriced for the very small size and the Veggie Love, a stir fry dish of vegetables, bok choy, and garlic sauce. It's so basic and something I could have made at home and would never order again. I'll keep ordering from this place, but it's best to stick to their most popular dishes at this price point. read more

So there are only TWO PLACES where I will eat vegan sushi: This place...and "Makin Vegan Sushi and Izakaya" in Agoura Hills/ Westlake Village. THAT'S IT. In order to do vegan sushi (and other vegan version meals) successfully, you must study food carefully enough to recreate the consistency and texture of each particular dish in as close an authentic way as possible, and it is clearly obvious this place has paid attention. Every smokey sear, every juicy bite, every saucy sauce and every crispy crunch that we know and love about some of our favorite Asian (inspired) dishes has been recreated to perfection and beyond with thoughtful creativity. The sear and sauce on that Love On Fire Roll? Chef's kiss. The crispy rice with "tuna"...? Delightful crunch and lovely jalapeño heat! The drunken noodles? MY GOD! The smoky wok pan-fry noodles with the basil and burst of cherry tomatoes in the mouth is PERFECTION! Try the fresh ginger drink iced instead of hot. It is a slam of ginger to the throat, but the intensity is madness that is SO welcomed! Even their soft pellet ice used in the drinks is perfection. (I'm talking to all of my ice eaters) There is one particular server here who isn't as chipper as the others, but for the most part, everyone is full of service and kind, and the food makes up for anything that may be less than stellar. Very disappointed with this place. Where do I even begin? First of all as a loyal returning customer of many years - I expect to be treated with respect and valued. Spent a lot of money at this place as it is highly overpriced. But there was a time when it was actually pretty good and I am a sentimental person and like to stick with the same choices until things go sour. Which they did. First of all - the quality of food is much worse lately. It doesn't taste good, prepared sloppy and gave me an upset stomach. Food poisoning is where I draw the line. On top of that last time I ordered from that - I got scammed. I always ordered the soup there and I know exactly what to expect. Last time they charged me for regular big portions but delivered it in smaller packages ! Do they think the customers are stupid and won't notice being scammed??? Customer service did not take care of the issue and to top that off - the little bit that they did deliver was cold and tasted badly. Used to be a 5 star place and now even one start seems like too generous. Will not be coming back to eat there with my friends again and will not be ordering regular delivery. And they can expect an honest review on every existing portal they are listed on. People need to be warned about the poor quality and neglect. read more

We tried LOVE Organic Vegan Cafe for lunch today and it was fantastic! The food was delicious, unique and beautifully presented. We started with the Love on Fire roll which had spicy tofu, avocado, cucumber; topped with seared trumpet mushrooms & shiitake teriyaki sauce. The Love Pillar roll was similar to the Love on Fire roll but instead of trumpet mushrooms, there were sliced shiitake mushrooms inside the roll. The Mango Avocado roll, cucumber, takuan, yamagobo, tofu & yuzu sauce. The rolls were all gluten free. We also tried the Avocado Tempura Tacos, which were amazing! Yes, we love avocado, but there are so many other menu choices, so we definitely plan on going back to try some of the other yummy dishes! We also had Thai iced tea & Thai iced coffee...so good & refreshing on a hot summer day! The service was excellent too! Our server checked with us several times & also brought the food out quickly. Even the chef came out to thank us for trying the restaurant. Nice atmosphere and very clean. Lastly, I have to comment on how spacious and spotlessly clean their All Gender Restroom was. LOVE is a small organic, ALL vegan restaurant located in a small strip mall on Santa Monica Bl and Hayvenhurst in West Hollywood. This restaurant has been here over two years pre COVID. It has received countless positive reviews from Yelp Elites and was always on my list. Valentine's Day was the perfect day to visit LOVE! In LA we're not in the clear for COVID, so I always prefer to dine outdoors despite that fact that I am fully vaccinated. The limited outdoor seating was in front of the restaurant in the parking lot, so there's just the view of the lot and busy SAMO blvd which minimized my total dining experience. The menu offered a variety of Asian dishes, influenced from Thailand, China, Indonesia and Japan which gives you the option to select the protein of choice. I'm not a fan of Faux meat proteins: fake beef, fake chicken, fake shrimp... perhaps tasty but too processed/manufactured in my opinion. I chose gluten free Tofu for my protein and was delighted. Most of the ingredients used is organic and locally sourced which is always a plus for Me. Had to order the signature vegan sushi called LOVE ON FIRE, with trumpet mushrooms for protein consistency and all sorts of veggies with umami sauces ...it was very delish and easy fooled my tastebuds into thinking it tasted like scallops/shrimp but No, its All Vegan sushi! The spicy japanese eggplant with tofu, the red curry pumpkin and tofu and the cup of tom yum soup with assorted mushrooms, the flavorful broth of lemongrass and galanga, a thai ginger ALL tasted wonderful. Although I am not vegan, I really enjoyed the phenomenal foods each dish presented with exotic spices, I could fall in love... Of course, I over ordered and had it boxed Togo. While dining, a rather young transient male walked towards me asking for money and food...my furbabe Fendi growled to warn him. I felt uncomfortable with that transient encounter, so that reason also lessened complete dining enjoyment. My waiter and server Patrick was cordial, knowledgeable and genuinely nice. I have gone to Love various times now after my initial post and I'm pleased to say that the owner listens to clients' concerns. Very smart! I am extremely grateful that I can now choose what oil I want my food to be cooked with and not be stuck with toxic and unhealthy oils. Their vegan food is one of the BEST in LA, so I'm thrilled I can now eat there constantly. I'm a devoted client. My friends also started ordering from them almost weekly lol! Overall: 3.4/5 We ordered from Ubereats and the restaurant is a bit far from our place + traffic time so the food had to be reheated. We really want to like this place but their food is a hit or miss. I think there's a clear delineation of what they make well and what needs improvements. They're sushi is really good but their Thai food is not. Crispy Rice ($17): The rice was still very crispy. They made the spicy tofu mixture close in texture as imitation crab which I prefer. Their shiitake teriyaki sauce is so good too! You don't need any soy sauce. Beefless Drunken Noodle, Medium Spicy Option ($16): This was not spicy and the drunken noodle flavors didn't come out. The noodles were soft but the fake beef was oh so dry & overcooked. I would not get this again. Love On Fire ($20): Omg this roll was soooo good! The chewy texture of the trumpet mushroom is great, and they are generous with the amount of topping. Definitely a must try! Thai Wings, Medium Spicy Option ($10): My first thought was "Why are there only 3 wings?" Then I looked at the Yelp pictures and saw that that's correct then questioned why they're $10 because that's pretty expensive. They looked good with the glazed sauce so I took a bite and was immediately weirded out by the texture. I tried it again the next day and thought the flavoring was okay but could still taste that strange texture that was an indication that this was fake meat.
