3.5 stars... Two words: breakfast burritos... My friend in Pasadena loves this place... she kept telling me about their breakfast burritos and all the things that Lucky Boy puts in them. Bacon, sausage, hash browns, eggs, salsa, cheese... it sounded like something I had to try while I was down here visiting my socal friends. This place has been pretty busy just about every time I've gone. Service is fast and the offerings on the menu are plentiful. I'm usually not a big fan of fast food, but I could see myself coming here from time to time. read more

Gotta love Lucky Boy's breakfast burritos! Halfway through the burrito you can already feel your heart slowing down, and after you finish, you feel like poop for the entire day. I recommend 2 people to split a breakfast burrito, unless if you're like 200+ pounds and need a 1000 calorie meal. Oh their onion rings and fried zucchini are also very good greasy alternatives, but I prefer Top's for that. read more

Lucky Boy for a pastrami sandwich was on the agenda today. I was in Pasadena for a meeting, and thought a pastrimi sounded good just around now. I drove first to The Hat on Lake, but could not find a place to park the car. O well, off to Lucky Boy. Portions are large at Lucky Boy. My order - pastrimi, small fries, small coke. $ 12.00. On the bus ride back from a tennis game, my friends and I were discussing where do you wanna eat. First suggestion was Double Down at KFC but I automatically Vetoed because I was HUNGRY. My friend suddenly suggested Lucky Boy in Pasadena! I was like okay let's go since I wanted to try their Breakfast Burrito! When we got there though, we read that it only serves 6-10:30 AM. Crestfallen, we looked at the menu in hope that some other amazing food will make up for the Breakfast burrito. Suddenly, the man in front of us ordered a Breakfast burrito and we IMMEDIATELY ordered one right after him. What can I say, the burrito is HUGE in size. For $5.71 tax included, I ate the biggest burrito I've ever had. PORTIONS ARE GENEROUS! This monstrosity(in good terms) is PACKED FULL of bacon, egg, and potatoes! If you order with extra bacon, I swear you will see a major difference. However, I found that it wasn't great in terms of taste, only okay. It was kinda bland and I found myself having to smear ranch all over it. Overall, great burrito if you're looking to get full but there are definitely better burritos out there if you're looking for heaven in your mouth good. Best breakfast burrito ever! Gigantic burritos with lots and lots of meat - I've ordered all 3 - bacon, ham and/or sausage, and I've never lacked for meat. I can't decide which is my favorite! Just enough cheese, perfect amount of eggs, and perfectly cooked hash browns - crispy, but not over cooked. Flour tortilla grilled with just enough crisp and cooked flavor to it. The burrito by itself is great... Add the sauce, and its even tastier. I have a big appetite and I can eat, but I could only eat half of this burrito! I drive from Baldwin Park at least once a month for a breakfast burrito treat for my daughter and I! Btw, ignore the sign. They serve the burrito all day long, and is perfect for breakfast, lunch or that after club snack! read more

Lucky Boys is a throwback to the independent Burger Joints but for those who don't like assembly line chow this place is pleasant, easy to find, lots of parking and right across the street from Trader Joe's. The big star is the Breakfast Burrito (Bacon or Chirizo). They make Top's look like rookies. The burrito is HUGE and comes with all the garnish - fresh salsa and yellow peppers. Back in the day 1 would do it but for those weight conscious people who like to splurge every once in a while, I cut it in half and that is more than plenty. The Burrito is about $5.25 read more

Went here the other day on my way back home after some early morning errands - I had heard the name, and that the breakfast burrito was where it's at, so I rolled up to the counter, and ordered one. On the plus side, the burrito was HUGE. Ounces/dollar ratio is pretty good here. They filled it with eggs, cheese, potatoes, and bacon, and threw in some salsa on the side. But honestly? This place is a great place to go for lunch anrd breakfast I usually order burger or burritos, their portion is huge. With the calories of each burger or burrito, 2 person can share for their 1 burger or burritos overall the food quality and the area is good but don't look for a great service there It is not they are going against you, just they used to be like that. The lady taking the orders needs to relax and learn some manners. My boyfriend and I went to try the chorizo breakfast burrito just to be told by the LADY that "chorizo is not served at this time". What does that mean? Did you ran out or you are not cooking anymore.... not sure. She was impatient, perhaps she needs to focus on cooking not customer service. Anyways... The food is ok. Okay, my friend rebuked me saying i need to use the thousand island dressing w my breakfast burrito. I got 2- 1 bacon & 1 chorizo for my SIL (sis in law). She's no expert but she too knows what she's talking about. This place has alot of hype, and no bite. Alot of hash browns. The bacon was hard. Almost crunchy. Maybe thats their style. I would give 2.5 stars. Breakfast Burrito with bacon-huge and filling, enough for two meals. Good taste, but too salty with bacon. Breakfast burrito with sausage-well done hash browns, crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Scrambled eggs are not as juicy. The sausages are very salty. The melted American cheese is ok. Alright, I am convinced that I will probably try everything on the menu here! I decided to stop here a week ago before heading to school (Le Cordon Bleu) to get some breakfast. I opted for the carne asada burrito and fries and yes, I know it's not breakfast but it stood out. I had to save the rest of my huge burrito for later. The real reason for this review is the damn chili cheese fries that I am addicted to! OMG! It's meat chili which is awesome because all that other crap would take away from the pure goodness I keep devouring (as I write this review) and I can't get enough. Welp. My breakfast burrito was just okay. Read all of the great reviews and was excited to try it! My expectations were too high goin in though and the flavors just fell short. Needed some salsa and Tapatio to make it better. My gf got the gyro which was delicious with the garlic sauce!! We enjoyed the pickled peppers with it too. Service was friendly. My personal favorite is sausage, as you can taste the sausage flavor. Bacon tends to be much more greasy, and with chorizo it's hard to taste the actual meat (mostly just seemed like eating egg and potato hash). -Zucchini fries: Another must-try. I had high Hope's for this place but right as I walk up to order I'm greeted with the rude employee he starts to rush me into ordering and giving attitude right off the bat, so after this debacle I get done ordering their breakfast burrito, onion rings, and chili cheese fries. Once I got me order I proceed to try the burrito before sullying my palette with anything else and it was such an underwhelming moment bland as it can be the only flavor was the sausage and even that couldn't save it. Came here to try the breakfast burrito that I was told "is the best" Sadly, it's not. It's an average under seasoned burrito at best. I ordered bacon and sausage. It only had full link sausage inside. Strange to me that it's not cut up and mixed in. All my sausage was in the bottom half of my burrito. Salsa was warmish but underwhelming. When you are in the mood for fast food that'll clog your arteries, this is the place to go. I love their chili cheese fries. It is the standard in which to compare all others (none have measured up). They are generous with the meat chili ladled over the freshly fried fries, and sprinkle so much tasty cheddar cheese on top that you can't even see the chili and fries at first. Yum! My son really likes their breakfast burrito (which is served all day). It's the size of his head. I've been eating here for over 25 years. Yeah, the interior is a little run down and out of date, and the tables and floor can get gross, but you don't come here for ambience. Busy, busy, and never a long wait! Open for sure during covid restrictions, take out only. Call ahead if your not comfy with lines, though the line gets worked thru quickly. I LOVE LUCKY BOY!! This place is and always has been great. :-D Recently the BF and I went to Johnnie's Pastrami in Culver City. What a complete waste of time. Their pastrami couldn't hold a candle to LB pastrami. the hype for the massive breakfast burrito is definitely real, you should come here just for that. it's a bit of a mess to eat at though, tables are covered in crap from previous customers, they are too slammed to have anyone come out to clean them. I would get food to go. portions are also huge, fries and fried zucchini come in massive servings, but the bummer is they have zero flavor. like nothing. really need some seasoning on them. the old school taco/burger joint feel of the place is cool, but the service isn't great and I'm not sure all the food is as good as advertised. like i said though, the breakfast burrito is legit. read more
