They deliver to the prudence island ferry which is a big plus. They're very friendly on the phone and our order was perfectly correct. Also a big plus. First time ordering take out from here. It stayed warm all the way home. Picked up at 2:45 so could still get the lunch combination plate specials, which are offered until 3pm. We got shrimp lo mein and chicken with string beans. They both came with pork fried rice, and wanton or hot and sour soup for $8 each. It's a good amount of food, and not too salty. I've ordered from them five or six times a year over the last decade, and their food is usually pretty decent. Not great, but not bad either. Called to place an order for a delivery tonight, a woman answered and then told me to wait a few minutes and they put the phone down. Okay, no biggie, it's dinner time on a Saturday night, I can understand it's busy. Waited, could hear restaurant noises, etc. Waited a few minutes, and it sounded like a different woman picked up the phone from where it was placed down, I said hello, they said they couldn't hear me, and to call back. Kinda weird, the first person could hear me fine, I could hear them, but still, okay, no biggie, whatever. I called back, they said they couldn't hear me again, and to try their second number. Okay, starting to get a little frustrating, but technical difficulties happen, no biggie. I call their second number, and what sounds like a fax machine picks up. Okay, they must not have realized their second line was hooked up to their fax (also, wow, a fax machine in 2021), I decided to wait a few minutes for them to realize they need to unplug, and then try again. A few minutes later, I call back on the second number, the same woman picks up and YELLS at me on the phone telling me she told me to call their other number. I started to explain that the current number I dialed is the "other" number, when i stopped mid-sentence and said, "you know what, nevermind. I'm going to order from someplace else." So, anyways, I was hungry enough to slightly overpay for mediocre Chinese food on a Saturday night while waiting and rolling with the punches with some technical difficulties they were apparently having. However, I was not hungry enough to so while getting yelled at by someone who can't get her phone situation straight. Half my resume is customer service and retail positions, so it's not like I'm some Karen or something. I try to always be nice, and always be patient, because I know it's tough dealing with the public, and that you've got no idea what other problems or difficulties someone might be having to deal with while they're on the job. But it was straight up disrespectful to get yelled at by someone who I'm trying to give my business to like that. I'm glad Kam Shing is in the same town. I'd say the general quality of food there is about the same, but in the 25 years or so I've ordered from Kam Shing, the folks at the counter/on the phone have always been totally polite and professional. It was nice to have two similar Chinese take out places in town, and to not always order from one or the other. But after tonight, I'm not going to order from Lucky Garden ever again. read more

Haven't ordered from here in years. Basically because I never thought the food was good. After seeing a lot of good reviews in the past 5 months we decided to give it a try. Especially because the other Chinese restaurants in the east bay do not deliver. Boneless chicken was flavorless, just greasy, same with the fries that accompanied it. Fried rice had no flavor. I'd been going here for about 5 years and found their food to be well above average if not one of the best Chinese places in the East Bay area. However, after a recent experience I am never giving them my business again. I placed an online order for delivery (the first and last time I've done this, usually I picked it up). When I put in my address, I got no error message saying they don't deliver to my address. The order went through, and my credit card was charged. After an hour and a half of waiting, I called them asking where my food was. The woman who answered was EXTREMELY rude right off the bat, telling me to hold on repeatedly in an annoyed voice. When I was taken off of hold I explained the situation and asked where my food was. When asked where I lived and I said Barrington she said, "oh we don't deliver to Barrington." Great, so what happened to the order? "Oh, we didn't make it." So not only is their website shoddily designed and didn't throw an error when I entered my address, and instead let the order go through, but no one at Lucky Garden thought of giving me the courtesy of calling me to tell me they don't deliver to my area after they received the order? Instead I had to wait an hour and a half and call them myself. I'm sorry, but this is unacceptable. You just treated a loyal customer like trash, and I won't be returning to your establishment. I know there is a language barrier, but you need to learn how to interact with people and develop some people skills before you answer a phone. You just lost a customer. Good riddance. read more

Best Chinese restaurant in Bristol/Warren! It is clean, delicious, and it tastes healthier than others. My favorites are, Kung Pao Shrimp, House Egg Foo Yung, chicken teriyaki and Crab Rangoon. Best egg rolls around too! Heads up though, they use white meat chicken in their General Tso's Chicken dish. I found this changes the flavor a bit, so I m not a fan. First off terribly rude on the phone, and degrading to be honest. I ordered food, they made a mistake to the order and then.. yelled saying ok we give to you for free, but you wait 1 hour and just hangs up the phone. I call back maybe 5 times as they purposely screened my call but all I wanted to do was go pick up the food instead of waiting. Finally they respond and say ok come pick up, and then in the end up going back on their word and charging the order again. Food is hit or miss, you can get nice chicken, or dry chicken. Just received a shrimp low neon that had a strong burnt taste to it, and just threw it out, and they wanted nothing to do with me. GO TO LUKES INN SOOO MUCH BETTER!! We are new to the neighborhood and we have never been a fan of Luke's in Warren. We had the chicken fried rice, chicken and cashew nuts and egg rolls. We picked it up and took it home. The food was hot and delicious. I couldn't believe the amount of fresh vegetables in it. They were cooked but still crunchy and flavorful. This is some this is something that you don't always get with takeaway Chinese food. I am glad it's near my house and will be going back next time I need my Chinese fix. read more

The dining room is mostly white walls with very little decor. The food arrived on time but the quality was very low. Orange chicken was mostly dry chicken cartalidge and breading with very little to no flavor. The pork fried rice had both pink and grey pieces in it. I'm a fan of their dumplings. The wrapper is thin, the filling is moist, and when you get them fried, they're good and crispy on one side. Also, the Lo Mein is great - not greasy at all. Pleasant service, with a quick turn-around after ordering, but slow enough that you know they're really making your food, not just reheating it. read more

Definitly no one of the best resturants I've ever been at. When I first walked in to the resturant. There was very little decor, nothing oriental that made it look like a chinese resturant. It was literally just a white room with several cracks here and there, and several non-working gumball machines. No joke I put a quarter in the candy machine, spun the crank all the way, and nothing came out dispite the machine being filled to the top with gumballs. So parents beware of kids losing their quarters. When I went to order, I looked at the overhead lit up menu of food options, but was told by what looked like the cashier to not look at it since its an old menu and has some food options they no longer make. Instead, the cashier gives me what looked to be a placemat with the menu options on it. I order the C21 platter to-go which was the boneless spare ribs with pork fried rice and an egg roll. After 15 or so minutes, I get my food. The pork fried rice was good, nothing wrong with it. The egg roll was ok, but the spare ribs didn't look right & had a very confusing taste. When I had spare ribs at another chinese place, the meat was small, little rib pieces and was delicious. The ribs at this place were almost like they cut the meat off a rack of ribs and made it that way, which confused me on which way you prepare spare ribs was correct. This place isn't the best spot around for chinese, especially if your looking to dine in rather than do take out. read more
