The middle of the pastry was not jam-like not anything close to what you expect from a pie of any sort. It was more like an off color paste and you can tell it's been really old, definitely not fresh. On top of that, when I called into the restaurant to notify them of the issues, they just said we'll let the baker or chef know to bake them fresh each morning insinuating that they normally don't. The bees knees latte blew me away, I could taste the full flavor profile (which were all of my favorites combined- lavender, honey, rosemary ). If it was closer to me I'd go more often, but unfortunately it is a bit of a commute and the parking situation isn't ideal (very limited and lots nearby come at a fee). But if you're just running in real quick then you'll be fine. We stayed for our drinks and luckily found two stools at the bartop, otherwise we would have been out of luck as that small bartop is the only indoor seating and then the small patio was full. COFFEE FLIGHTS! I saw that Lucky Lab had this option and I couldn't wait to invite my friends out to try a flight of coffee. They have a variety of options, various parking (pay at the meter), and you can even bring your dog! I believe it's all completely outdoors so it's perfect for a sunny day. Now, on to the good stuff: Surprisingly, the coffee was less sweet than I anticipated. However, I loved the variety of flavors (lavender and vanilla, cold brew, etc) I also appreciated that they didn't JUST have coffee. The hibiscus was a little tart but the lemonade was wonderful. It is very small inside, and the outdoor seating is not very clean and is shared in a plaza with other restaurants. It is always busy and lively whenever I walk by as it is a great spot for UT students. I've heard the wifi is unreliable. read more

Second day in a row so there must be something good right? Needed some caffeine yesterday and got a latte - way too much foam but "I'll mention it next time". Came in again today and wanted to try hot food as well.....ordered frittata and latte again...mentioned the foam situation and voila! They are really nice and the place is cute, but that espresso machine is going to waste. If I wanted "a little bit of drip coffee" I would have said that, but I asked for a double espresso, and whatever I drank was certainly not even close. To be more helpful than an as*, I think you'll want to grind your beans a lot finer and tamp them appropriately so it will result in higher pressures while brewing and more extraction. It's located super close to the UT-Austin campus and tucked away on a side street, but if you're in the area, I'd say grab a cup to go and a snack. This is a great little coffee shop tucked in by campus. Located on San Antonio St., there's paid street parking and a 15-minute customer service spot. There are lots of seating options outside that are covered. I don't think there's even an inside to the place, it's a window service shop. The baristas were friendly and efficient. This is the second day in a row that I've had a really good cold brew add a new to me a coffee shop. Once again smooth, full-flavored, not acidic or bitter. I also picked up a coffee cake muffin. Really nice café with a ton of outdoor seating. Truly perfect for yesterday's warm and sunny weather. I came here with a friend around 2 pm in the afternoon and the place was buzzing with students and young crowd of visitors. There's an order counter facing the street and then they call out your name when the drink is ready. Because the same window is taking orders and handing out drinks, things can get a bit crowded and messy, but the employees are very efficient in managing the crowds. I got the lavender mint iced latte, which was ready in just a few minutes. Unfortunately the mint flavor was not noticeable at all, yet the lavender was perfect. Not too strong to overpower the drink, but still present. I'm guessing they use a lavender simple syrup because the drink was rather sweet. It definitely was refreshing and rejuvenating after a busy morning. Most of the outdoor seating is shaded by umbrellas and I didn't notice if they had any indoor seating. I love a good coffee shop. Since I was near campus, I decided to check out Lucky Lab. Been wanting to go for awhile, but I don't wander to campus often. I ordered off of their seasonal menu and the staff here is friendly, with good suggestions. I was convinced to order the Dark Chocolate Hazelnut latte (with almond milk), and also a Thai Brew (iced) for my sister. The dark chocolate hazelnut latte was to die for. The right amount of caffeine kick I need/want and creamy sweetness. The Thai brew was a slight miss for us, bc we expected a little more creaminess, but it seemed a little more watered down than we preferred. Granted I was hoping for more Thai Tea creamy taste, but it only had notes of Thai tea in it. But definitely would return and try again! read more

I was really excited to try this place after following them on social media for some time. They are always rotating fun flavor combos and seasonal drinks. They have house made syrups, pastries etc. However I left completely disappointed. I ordered the honey nut latte (iced) and what i got was more closely related to sugar water. The coffee was opaque whitish tint and the coffee (what little coffee flavor there was) tasted burnt. The outside seating and patio are great for the university and i can imagine this place is popular with the students for its convenience and good rewards program. I got the winter favorite coffee flight and a vegan dark chocolate banana bread and both were just... disappointing lol. The banana bread was SO DRY and here's a breakdown of the flight. Cinnamon rosemary latte -- got with almond milk as suggested and only tasted rosemary winter citrus cold brew -- got with oat milk and literally tasted nothing.. where's the coffee?! pomegranate vanilla spiced lemonade -- sad to say this was the best thing I had and sucks because I wanted good coffee lol Yule tide - this tasted like coffee because it was two shots of espresso with Thai tea lmao but really not the coffee experience I was hoping for There was no body to any of these drinks, maybe it was my bad for getting them iced because when I was drinking them it was all just so watered down and no coffee flavor. I love coffee and I love dogs. I have black lab/golden retriever mixes so when I saw this place, I knew I had to stop in. It was busy, but so worth the wait. I got a cute tumbler, a sticker, and a large hot caramel latte. Probably one of the best lattes I've ever had. The coffee has a warm nutty flavor and was smooth. The caramel and oat milk were the perfect level of sweetness without being too sweet. I can't wait to bring my dogs next time I'm in Austin. I got hot apple cider, gingerbread chai, and two other seasonal flavors that are slipping my mind. The gingerbread chai latte was the standout, and something I wish I could drink every day. They were all tasty. There were also sweet treats and I got a fresh slice of zucchini bread. More than anything, it was a really cool concept for anyone who loves coffee. Absolutely loved our morning at Lucky Lab. I'm always down to try a new (new to me at least) coffee shop and definitely always down to go somewhere I can bring my (giant) pup too. The staff here was great, line was a little slow but customer service was great. Cold brew and chai latte were both delicious and the pop tart-esque pastries were AMAZING. Also loved the outdoor seating available. Plenty spread out and plenty of it to go around for everyone. It was also neat that it wasn't all just traditional table and chairs. As we arrived for lunch at another location, we happened to park in front of Lucky Lab...as we started to our destination, we heard them call a name saying "Your Pop tart is Ready"....the wife and I both looked at each other, and we knew what we were getting when we left....Along with a couple amazing Mocha Lattes we picked out a strawberry Pop tart....The crust was flaky, light and buttery....the filling was awesome and the icing was just the right about of sweet that you need...This is far from the Pop Tart I grew up with, and actually will be hard to buy box Pot Tarts again...This was a lucky find for us for sure and we will keep this on the radar for some to-go orders. read more

Our group woke up to walk to Torchy's Tacos and saw this was on the way so we stopped by. There's outside seating for the pick-up/to-go window as well as indoor seating that has A/C if you need a break from the humidity. There's a water bowl for dogs as well as treats inside next to the water dispenser. The cashier was super nice and made sure to get all of our drink orders before working on them to ensure we weren't separately waiting. They had some "Summertime Specials" with a wide variety of drinks from lattes to cold brews. Raspberry Coconut Latte (M - $5.79): I got almond milk since I'm lactose intolerant but the drink tasted delicious even with the substitution. It had light flavors of raspberry but I felt like the sweetness level compared to other drinks our group tried. Coconut Mint Cold Brew : This was EXTREMELY sweet, so definitely ask for light sweetness if you're sensitive to sugar. Otherwise, you definitely taste the mint in this drink, and it's super refreshing. Bees Knees Sweet Cream Latte (M - $5.15): Not as sweet as the Coconut Mint Cold Brew, but still sweeter than the Raspberry Coconut Latte. It has nice floral notes from the lavender. My friends who got the sweeter drinks didn't enjoy theirs as much but I loved my drink. A little on the pricier side than what I'm used to for specialty coffees, but they were pretty good! read more

I love coming to this coffee shop to study! The ambiance is amazing and there's tons of great seating areas to study or hangout with friends when the weather is nice. The only downside is the fact that the prices are pretty high. Their smallest sizes (equivalent to a Starbucks tall) on some drinks go up to $5 with tax, so high! Definitely not somewhere I can grab a drink from on the daily. In terms of food and drinks, I recommend their seasonal specials and their hand pies. The seasonal specials are always so unique and I never know what to expect when I taste them.
