Estay away from her!!! She doesn't know what respect for others means
    Melissa M.

Chrisant the cashier harassed (racial profiling )my young daughter today. Customer for 22 years of this branch since the name was Albertsons and will be still coming even after what happened today (Mexican Mother's DAY). My daughter stopped by after school to buy a bouquet for Me, she took 2 and took them directly to the self-check to see which was the one that met her affordability she couldn't afford the one she wanted so she called her dad so he could send money to her while she was doing that Chrisant/Crisann start harassing her by saying rudely and disrespectfully if she didn't have enough money if she was gonna pay and the last thing if she doesn't gonna buy the flowers, put them down and leave!! My daughter got home crying and said she felt humiliated by this person so I went to the store ask for her to explain why she did that to my daughter and denied everything my daughter said that she had ever taken her off her locked herself in the office and didn't affront the situation. This store has to implement better training or hire more professional and respectful staff. Christians need to work on respect for others and have the integrity to take accountability for their actions. I hope she recognizes what she did and asks my daughter for an apology and not do that to others what she did. Speaking with other customers from this store about this situation 2 people encounter the same treatment from this lady. The manager Sheryl took her time to confront the situation but couldn't make her come to talk about the situation or perhaps apologize for the harassment she ply to my daughter. She offered a $10 gift card which of course I didn't take, all I wanted to ask for was RESPECT!!!

California grown red cherries $1.99 a pound, the lowest price of any major supermarket chain so far this season

Don't come here too often as Sprouts, Safeway, Trader Joe, Smart & Final, and Target closer to my house. So there has to be something special on sale for me to hop in my car and drive 2.2 miles to this place. Lived in the area from 1979 to 1988, before moving to the Las Palmas Park area. Lucky's was here back then, but recently years they've completely remodeled the store. Gone are the small, crowded aisles, dim lighting and dusty floors. Large aisles, bright lighting, sparking clean floors. They even have windows in the walls to lighten things up. Came here during the senior hours Tuesday and Thursday 6am-9am, so that us geezers don't have to risk their lives with the crowds during the coronavirus pandemic. Right outside the only entrance and exit is a store employee, wearing a mask, and gloves, sanitizing the shopping cart handles with spray and paper towel. Santa Clara county ordinance requires all customers to wear masks, 6 feet social distancing, with no outside bags permitted. Today I get 4 ears of corn for 88 cents -yeah the husks look raggedy, but the corn inside the husk looks and tastes great several days from now after being refrigerated. Just like humans, you can't tell by looks -why do you think my wife married me in 2003? It wasn't for looks! Stock up on previous day unsold stock, with price of 6 ounce Driscoll blackberries reduced from $3.99 to 99 cents. Get three of those, but should have bought double that, as they lasted several days in the fridge. Get 4 pounds of cherries at $1.99 a pound with residential only mailed coupon, the lowest price of any major supermarket chain so far this season. And these are high quality dark ripened cherries. Yelp friend Kaliko was telling me that in Honolulu, Costco was selling red cherries at $8.99 for 2 pounds. One of the few advantages to living in CA compared to Hawaii! Finally, get the last salmon fillet at $5.99 a pound. Only problem is that you have to buy the full fillet, and that's 3.61 pounds. Apparently they don't restock new fish until about midday, after senior hours. You know what the wife and I are going to be eating the next 3 nights for dinner! Hoarders are still cleaning out the shelves of toilet paper, paper towels, and hand sanitizer, as none left, three months into the pandemic. Try to leave out the second entrance, which is closed. This is contrary to CDC guidelines, where people are supposed to enter one entrance and exit through a second entrance, so as to maintain social distancing and not to pass each other during the pandemic. I guess it is for security purposes, where the person cleaning the cart handles also doubles as tackling shoplifters to the ground, as this is the sketchy part of town.

First time visiting this Lucky California store and I have to say, this one seems to be on the smaller size. It felt really cramped shopping here, likely because everything seemed to close to one another, due to the small store size and space. Also, the place in the front where they store the shopping carts definitely could use an upgrade. I liked that they had hand baskets here for customers to use. They only had 1 register open here and the line was long. They also had self check outs, but nobody seemed interested in using them, so there was along line in the one line open... Not sure I'd return to this location. Really small store.

This lucky is located in a plaza with tons of places to eat like cafes, Starbucks and a Pizza hut on Mathilda. The parking lot is pretty big so that shouldn't be a problem finding a spot to drive in. I like this Lucky because it has a lot of the newer health foods and the veggies and fruits seem to be pretty fresh. Not a problem. The floral department is pretty good to pick some fresh flowers too overall, no complaints. This has been my place to pick up flowers and a few items to make smoothies on busy days because I like a lighter and textured smoothie sometimes. YEAH! The cashiers here seem to be really nice and the self check out seems to be open and operating on the weekends. Great. The bakery section in this grocery store is really sweet they've got eclairs and tiramisu and dulce de leche. I go easy on the really sugary stuff now a days but when I'm in the mood the cake here never fails! It's so legit. Overall a great place to shop no complaints. Enso #36 +/- Juices/shots/energy drinks plants yogurt _Moving going and motivated!

I had ordered my dad's birthday cake from here back in 2024 (salted yolk/pork sung/matcha mix…read morecake), and it was absolutely delicious! This time I decided to stop by here after dinner, my first time sitting down here and ordering. The inside is very clean, modern, and Pinterest-like. They added more decorations and seating from 2 years ago, making the inside more aesthetic. whaT's More always has unique Asian flavors, like durian, earl grey, pandan, red bean, and oolong. The cakes are not too sweet, so definitely Asian parent approved haha! Unfortunately, when we came around 6:30pm, they were sold out of most flavors - so would definitely recommend coming earlier or just ordering online earlier in the morning for pickup. We got the sesame dark chocolate crepe cake. When you eat in the store, the owner provides you with free cups of tea, which are really great for washing down the cake. The chocolate was super rich, and they did not skimp out on the flavor - super chocolatey. The sesame added such a fun earthy and nutty flavor - I thoroughly enjoyed it! The cake is on the slightly denser side, so was super filling. While on the pricier side, the flavors are super unique and the craft that goes into crepe cakes is commendable. I will be ordering my next cake from here again!

The place was situated in a quiet plaza just outside of Lawrence Expressway. There's ample parking but it doesn't feel like the location is suitable for a cafe where you can picture sitting inside looking through some big windows facing a busy pedestrian walkway. However, once I stepped inside, I was surprised at how zen and peaceful the decorations were and how fitting it was for a cozy and quiet cafe hangout. The cake shelf was surprisingly busy. And this is where I took one star out because the lines were confusing and the staff skipped me to talk to the group behind me while I was clearly the next to be helped. Luckily another staff member came out from the back kitchen and jumped in to help. The staff spoke fluent mandarin. I was interested in their box cakes. A few of the yelpers raved about their soy milk cake and luckily they had one out for sampling. It was covered with lots of cream and the cake layer was soft and moist, but it was still slightly too sweet for me and I felt that it lacked the tofu kind of soy flavor. Then, I spotted on their menu that they have a black sesame matcha box cake, and black sesame is always my favorite, so I asked for it. They had the last one left! The staff said she had never tried it so she couldn't tell me if it is less sweet than the soy milk cake. Since it was the last one available and I already sampled the soy cake, I decided to give it a try. I am happy that I did. The cake was filled with matcha mousse and tasted light and aromatic with the jasmine kind of matcha flavor. It is definitely less sweet. Unfortunately, it doesn't have as much black sesame as I'd like. But overall, the cake flavor is the kind that I like, subtle, moist, and not too sweet. $38 for a box cake of 4x4 is a bit pricey, but I'm glad that I gave it a try. The cakes were freshly made and tasted best the same day of purchase. They also recommend refrigerating the cake and consuming it within a day or two.

That said, they're constantly restocking, and the staff has a well-oiled system down. Even when it's busy, things move surprisingly efficiently. PASTRIES/BAKED GOODS: 9/10 I love their pastries and baked goods! I honestly haven't had anything that was a miss for me, whether it's savory or sweet. Everything I've tried has been delicious. FOOD/MEALS: 8/10 As for their meals, I thought they were good, but not quite as memorable as the pastries. I ordered the avocado toast, and while it was hearty and generously loaded, I felt like there was just a little too much going on. Both the salad and the toast were dressed a bit too heavily for my taste. COFFEE: 8/10 I also really enjoy their coffee. My go-to is the Latte Einspänner, and it pairs perfectly with their pastries. You can really taste the quality of the espresso, and I appreciate that it's not overly sweet. SERVICE: 9/10 The staff is quick, efficient, and constantly on the move. As I mentioned, they run like a well-oiled machine, even during the morning rush. AMBIANCE: 8/10 Seats fill up fast! If you're planning to dine in and you spot an open table, have someone in your group grab it while the other orders; tag-team it, lol. I also love the overall aesthetic. The wooden tables, sky blue and yellow color palette, and bright space make it feel warm and inviting. And of course, the giant glass displays packed with beautiful pastries are hard to resist; they're practically part of the décor!

I'd say Peter's Bakery is more traditional, but more fluffier while Sugar Butter Flour has a more modern twist and is slightly sweeter. I usually get the same item at Basquia Bakery: Korokke, a Korean style fried bread with a crispy panko exterior, filled with savory mash potatoes. For $3, it's a good deal for a snack. Some of Basquia Bakery's baked goods are not labeled so I would have totally overlooked their Korean mochi bread if it weren't for TikTok. Last fall, Korean sweet potato mochi bread (goguma ppang) went viral. For months, the commercial frozen ones were sold out at Korean markets. The supply has since been replenished (along with frozen kimbap) but if you can't commit to an entire bag like myself, then this is for you. Plus, this may be the only bakery in NorCal selling freshly made Korean mochi bread. M E N U Along with mochi bread, Basquia Bakery sells cakes (slice + whole), roll cakes, fruit tarts, cream puffs, bread, buns, k corn dogs, etc. For drinks, they have non-caffeinated lattes (e.g. black sesame and beer). M O C H I B R E A D Available in pairs ($4) or a variety box of the five flavors ($9). I went with the latter. Visited Saturday morning around 9:45 am and the had about a 50% supply left. Can we talk about how adorable these are?! The mochi bread is shaped based on their flavors. The mochi "bread" is mochi with a chewy exterior filled with a mashed filling. This is my personal preference but I like mochi that has more of an elastic, bouncy QQ chew which this didn't quite have. The texture did improve after air-frying the leftovers. Flavors: * Sweet Potato // 4 stars Looks and tastes exactly like the real deal with sweet, fluffy mashed interior but hits different with the slight gelatinous chew. Tip: Eat this with kimchi. It's adds a delicious tang and heat to contrast the natural sweetness. * Corn // 4 stars Enjoyed the creamy corn filling with kernels for texture. * Potato // 4 stars Savory, creamy mashed potatoes. I wanted to pair this with a steak. Lol. * Chestnut // 4 stars I love roasted chestnut but this has cinnamony, chocolatey notes from the dusting of cocoa powder + cinnamon. There were chunks of roasted chestnut. * Kabocha // 3 stars Again, tasted like the real deal but too sweet for me. Overall, glad I tried this cute novelty at Basquia Bakery. I'm now convinced to buy a bag of the commercial frozen ones, yanno for taste test comparison purposes. ;)

When we've brought it to social gatherings in the past, it's also always a hit. Their other desserts, like their lemon bars, french napoleon, and turtle cheesecake, are also major hits. So when it was time for my wedding, I knew I had to get my cake from them! It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. They offer cake tasting boxes that include their most popular flavors. However, we had a specific taste profile in mind and asked if they could custom make the samples for us - they said yes without hesitation and didn't charge us extra! The samples were delicious and the pickup process was easy. We went with a ribbon cake (chocolate and vanilla) with fresh strawberries, whipped cream filling, and vanilla buttercream frosting. I also had a very specific vision for my wedding cake - I wanted a detailed three-tier cake with buttercream vintage flowers. We also ordered a plain sheet cake with the same flavors to ensure that we had enough slices for our guests. I worked with Fariba during the ordering process and they were great. I am truly still SHOCKED at how beautiful the cake was and how it matched the inspo photo perfectly. It was a showstopper and extremely delicious. See the photo for details! We got the cake topper from etsy :)

This time I tried the lemon tart, chocolate-covered strawberries, a macaron, and a lemon cake that was recommended to me. The lemon tart wasn't my favorite. It was a little too tart for my taste. I like lemon desserts, but this one had a very strong lemon punch and could have used a little more sweetness. The lemon cake, on the other hand, was really good. It had a refreshing lemon filling inside that wasn't overpowering, and I would definitely order that again. My niece loved the chocolate-covered strawberries, and my daughter enjoyed the macaron. The shop has a nice atmosphere, and it's a great place to stop when you're craving something sweet. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other pastries and desserts. Service was also excellent.

However, the cake was a bit dry, and the red bean in the filling was undercooked and on the hard side. I liked how light the cake was, and the whipped cream filling, and likely came on an off day. -Chocolate Roll Cake w/Pudding Filling: The chocolate cake was more moist than the matcha, and I liked the chocolate flavor, which was present but not too strong. The pudding and whipped cream filling were good, but I didn't think they quite went with the chocolate cake. All the ingredients seemed very fresh and quality, and I would come back to give their fruit desserts a try. No seating is available. Parking was easy to find since this small plaza had plenty of spots.

What's challenging is if you're unfamiliar with Turkish breakfasts - the menu is very confusing as you're not quite sure what everything else. You order at the counter and pay and then go to the dining area to get your free tea. Unfortunately the guy behind the counter had no interest in explaining anything to us and it was apparent with his attitude - not the friendliest nor welcoming. But we decided to go for it and got the Nahita Special which basically had mostly everything. The things we loved: The cheese Borek, I wouldn't mind trying the spinach one if we come back here. Huge fan of their Pida bread which is unlimited - you can get more at the counter when you want more. OH and the Turkish tea is unlimited as well. unfortunately I am not familiar with the best way to prepare or get my own Turkish tea? They had some made and some you got from the machine... tons of sugar cubes... Will stick with ordering coffee next time. We also loved the different cheeses paired with different breads, honey and that homemade jam!! SO GOOD... you can make up any tasty bite you want which I think is the nice thing about the turkish breakfast - you create your own bite each and everytime!! It's fun to try different combinations but I will say I love the salty and sweet combo so either feta cheese with jam or honey on the different breads was my favorite bite. What I didn't care for was the Shaksuka - I've had this dish before at other places and usually it's more flavorful with more eggs - this was bland runny eggs in a dish. Not my favorite and I wouldn't choose this again. And reading some other reviews the eggs with sausage didn't sound like a hit either so am thinking maybe we skip getting any egg dishes from here. I think now that I know more about the dishes I can maybe be more selective but overall it's not inexpensive but worth trying at least once.
