I am SO happy we found Luigi's D'Italia!! My husband and I have been looking for a new pasta spot and let me tell you - this is IT. Plenty of parking, casual setting with indoor + outdoor seating, super friendly staff, and most importantly, AMAZING pasta! I ordered the Fettuccine Della Casa which is their creamy fettuccine with bacon, peas, and mushrooms - I loved how savory and flavorful this dish was! And my husband ordered a special that they had which was pasta with fresh clams. SO good. We also enjoyed their garlic bread which came with our orders - perfect for enjoying with leftover sauce :) We will 100% be back! This is probably a well kept secret Italian restaurant that people local to the place don't want you to know about. Because it's really really good. Nestled in a strip mall next to a grocery store and some other dining establishments you wouldn't know about it unless you googled or Yelp it. We were over at Brea Mall and the kids wanted Italian food for late lunch/early dinner. So off goes my wife to search for Italian restaurants in the area. We pulled up walked in and it's pretty no nonsense. There's about 6 or so tables inside and a few outside, looked at the menu and it wasn't crazy loaded with dishes which for some can be a problem deciding what to order. Here's what we ordered 2 adults 3 kids: Kid1: Margherita pizza (small about 4 slices) Kid 2: Italian sub Kid3: linguini with clams in a red sauce Wife: cheese ravioli Me: Italian spicy meat pizza (medium) After we ordered we were given complimentary cheese garlic bread. Amazing, we destroyed it quickly Shortly after, came our order. Portions were generous but not overly abundant as we stuffed ourselves with the garlic bread it was perfect. Wife's ravioli sauce was spectacular, rich hearty and herbaceous. My wife normally never finishes her entree and usually takes home the rest to eat later, nope not today she cleaned it. Son's linguini and clams was equally rich and thick full of little clams and you can see chunks of garlic. He powered that down and normally would eat anyone's food if they couldn't finish it, not this time he was stuffed. For a 16 yo to say that you know the portions were just good right for that growing boy. Daughter 1 equally finished her pizza and daughter 2 couldn't finish her sun because of the garlic bread she chowed down prior. My pizza was great as well loaded with slices of Italian sausages and the crust was thin crust (the way I like it). I managed to eat all but two slices which I'm looking forward to eating later. All in all great dining experience and loved the fact that it was a casual sit down restaurant with no frills just good quality Italian food. This is a great small place. This restaurant is mostly known for takeout but they have about six tables. Service is always outstanding and the food is authentic Italian. The older woman working there was very rude and unwelcoming. This is a very small restaurant and not busy when we went in to pick up our online order. She did not acknowledge us when we walked in. I told her I was there to pick up an order. Other than confirm my first name, she didn't say another word. She placed the pizza box on the counter and bag with salad on top, then turned her back and walked away! No thank you, no smile, nothing. Very unfriendly and uncomfortable behavior. There's just something about hole in the wall, mom and pop, Italian spots!! The location is small (approximately 5 tables with 4 chairs at each table) but packs a big punch! Right when I walked in I was immediately welcomed and sat. Right away I was given a basket of some of the softest garlic bread (very yummy!). To start i ordered the calamari (8.5/10) and the antipasto salad (5/10). The calamari was breaded to perfection and the marinara they provide is phenomenal. While you're eating you can actually see the gentleman in the back adding all the ingredients to make the marinara fresh (PRO TIP: save some garlic bread to dip in the marinara). As for the antipasto salad...I was not impressed. It is as slightly basic and small which isn't a big deal, next time maybe I'll just order more bread! Haha For my meal I ordered the baked ziti (12/10) and the combo pizza (9/10). The baked ziti is a must! Nice baked crust over the top, full of creamy ricotta on the inside, and just a hint of their sauce which has a nice sweetness which is a perfect pairing. The pizza was solid, nothing out of the ordinary but had a nice thin crust, lots of topping, and good tasting! For dessert I ordered a cannoli and wow. What a great way to end a very savory meal. Went with the family for our first visit here last night. We got garlic knots, lasagna, and a pizza. Overall the food was decent. Pricey for what it was, but good. The garlic knots were definitely different from your common ones. Not bad, just prepared differently. A nice change of pace. The pizza just needed some grease removed, but the Italian quality was definitely there. Lastly, the lasagna. It was straight liquid lasagna when brought out, sadly nothing like the photos others have put up. I let it sit for a while to solidify, then loaded it up with some parmesan. At that point, it ended up being really good. I'd definitely give it a second chance. Our waitress was top of the line, best in her class. Super friendly, very accommodating. It was slow when we first arrived, but filled up quickly, but she didn't skip a beat. I'd go back just to be around that... A great dining experience all around. read more

Once again I must thank Luigi and Grace for a marvelous dining experience. My health prevents me from eating out as often as I once did. On our latest visit to Luigi's my wife ordered Meat Ravioli with a side of most excellent garlic bread. I ordered a pizza my way. As always the service was friendly and fast. The meat ravioli was made to perfection. In fact she completed her very generous portion before I had finished a piece of my pizza. For dessert we ordered a piece of rum cake baked by Francesca. We were on our way home to LA from a Disneyland trip and decided to look for an Italian place for dinner on the way back. We saw Luigi d'Italia on here on Yelp with raving reviews from the locals so we decided to make a stop here. We were greeted by Grace who promptly seated us and started us out with their immaculate garlic bread while we ordered. Perfectly crispy and the butter and garlic flavor is just right. I could not put it down. I had to stop myself from eating too much or else I would be too full for our dinner. As for my order, I got the rigatoni with chopped clams in clear sauce. The clams were nice and tender and the basil in the clear sauce made it very flavorful. We shared a medium sized classic Margherita pizza. The crust was nice and crispy and the tomatoes were fresh. Now we understand why the pizzas have been pushing out all night! Lastly, we ended our dining experience with their cannoli for dessert. We noticed that it was well written about here on Yelp, and the hype was real. The cream was not too sweet and the perfectly crunchy pastry was a pleasure to bite on. All in all, a wonderful restaurant nestled in a busy plaza? can be easy to miss unless you're lookign for it, and you should! Blink and you'll miss it. The food my friend and I shared was absolutely amazing 10/10. We were sitting and eating, but someone from next door came in a couple of times just getting water. We were confused, but the employee started telling her to get out. We realized that the employee from next door was not being very kind. She was being slightly rude and the employee from Luigi's D'Italia was talking back and telling her to leave. We believe the restaurant is not in the wrong.
