Went to Luke's to try the beefs after reading the Yelp reviews. The beefs are OK. The fries I didn't care for as they are skinny and thus don't hold heat well (i.e. they get cold fast and cold fries suck). We also tried their "garlic cruncher" side/appetizer. Garlic cruncher? Sounds interesting. The reality is that it's just mediocre garlic bread. Skip it unless you have a real craving for toasted bread with garlic butter. The service was good and the folks were friendly. This is my favorite place to get pizza. Now, keep in mind, their pizza is an acquired taste. After I had it the 4th or 5th time I was hooked! It's the best, especially for fast food. I will never get sick of it. My only complaint is I've noticed they got a little skimpy with the pizza sauce (I think to cut down on costs). This place is so frickin good,... I've been going here since I was 13 years old, I'm 41 now, and nothing has changed as per the quality of their food, this is Chicago food at it's best. I'd rate them closer to 2.5 stars than 3. First off, I love their french fries. They are what keep me coming here. I'd put them at one of the top 3 best french fries in a 25-mile radius. But, their sandwiches are rather mediocre. I've never had anything thatvwas awful, but I've also never had anything truly fantastic here. I've been in the area for my whole life - 36 years - and have probably had their whole menu. The ribeye steak sandwich is my favorite and the cheeseburger my least favorite. The pizza is average and often closer to cold than hot and their wings are subpar. Again, for me it's the fries and the delivery option as late as 2am that keep me coming here. I prefer Franksville a couple blocks north of Lukes anyday of the week for this type of food. read more

The kings of making everything taste mediocre. Their beef, pizza, burgers, Italian ice and fries don't even compare to the other fast food joints around the neighborhood. You should only be going here when your favorite pizza, beef, hot dog, or burger place is closed. Also with how bland the food is you'd think it's cheap but it's definitely overpriced. read more

I love Luke's. We come here a lot. Like at least once a week. I come in my own for a slice of pizza. Sometimes I order a whole dinner for my family of four. Today we did that. We spent over $30. The girl in the drive through- who we've never seen before- handed my husband the drinks. He set them in the passenger seat and the top fell off and it spilled all over the seat. He asked her for another drink and she said ok. He handed her the half empty cup. She tried charging him for the new drink. She said she had no option. The lid was on wrong. It spilled allllll over the seat (luckily it was his work truck). He just asked her to replace it and she refused without having to charge him. We are super regular customers. We probably go there way too much, honestly. That was horrible customer service. They've made mistakes in the past and ALWAYS correct them immediately. I couldn't believe the service today. You couldn't afford the 30 cents it costs you in pop, for the hundreds we spend a year there? ....When it was YOUR fault? Horrible. Food was really good. read more

I only get the lemon frozen Italian ice from here which is really good. I think my husband ordered some type of food from here back when we were dating, but not memorable enough to come back for it. It's hard to find a decent hot-dog/gyro type of joint that delivers and delivers late. Late Monday night, I found myself craving some cheese fries and a pizza puff. I was in no condition to drive anywhere, but then I remembered Luke's. It's been a few years since I've eaten there, but I called and placed the order. 20 minutes later the food was at my door. Unfortunately the food wasn't as good as I remembered it. The cheese on the cheese fries tasted weird, and the pizza puff was just okay. I've had their food at the Palatine location before, so tried this one. The beef tasted like nothing. No seasoning at all. It was served dry. The hot dogs are pencil thin. I got a chili cheese dog, and the toppings were quite stingy. Fries are OK. Not great, but OK. Likely won't return. read more

Total deception!!! The service is the worst one I have ever experienced! I had to wait 35 minutes for the wrong pizza and while waiting again for the one that I wanted more than one person went into the place and got their pizza before me. I was taken back with the customer service and lack of respect I received when I tried to order delivery from Luke's on Harlem. I was asked to hold twice in a matter of 5 minutes after giving my address which is less than 2 miles away from Luke's, I was told by some lady that they were too busy tonight to deliver to me and that we were too far when we have ordered delivery from them before. Last night we ordered 5 double dogs with fries and when we got home, realized that we were accidentally given single dogs. We called Luke's up to let them know and they immediately sent over another set of hot dogs and some eclair cake free of charge. We are grateful for their professionalism and the eclair cake. 4-12-18 I introduced my ex-roommate from college to Luke's on Harlem tonight. She loved the combo italian beef-sausage she had, and the Italian ice. She thought the cashier was as "hot" as the peppers, but I told her he wasn't for sale! She is now hooked to the food, and promised to bring her husband here for a tasty, juicy, Italian beef. I told her the story about my partial, and though she found it amusing, she agreed it could happen to anyone. The cashier said he remembered me from somewhere, I said to him, "I'm the one who came to look for my dental partial," and he remembered--we both laughed in hindsight! Anyway, I want to try just about everything they have at Luke's since it is quickly prepared, tasty, and cleanliness is something the employees should be very proud of. They are all very presentable,professional, and they are often seen in the eating area, wiping tables down, and making the place look inviting. I have never heard anyone complain about having to do something someone else is responsible for doing... I really dislike going to places where this takes place. Came here and ordered a pepperoni and sausage slices when we were double checking for the sausage pizza we over couldn't tell if there was sausage because everything was apparently under the cheese i asked and instead of educating the customer this female employee insisted that i give them both pizzas back and when i asked to be given a container so i can send the one i believe was wrong she instantly caught an attitude and from there on out continued with her attitude ending with "Here the pizza was never wrong goodbye" so extremely unprofessional. she walked away so fast i wasn't able to get her name and never got her name because when i asked for it they didn't want to give it to me. Very poor customer service , they are our neighborhood pizza place and close late , so we usually order from them and their food is ok for late night fast food . It's with sadness in my eyes that I have to write this. The quality of Luke's on Harlem has significantly gone down during the years. What used to be one of my favorite hotdog joints in Chicagoland has depreciated to something that is just ok and average. Don't get me wrong, this is far from the worst food around, but it's really gone down in taste in flavor the last few years. The fries are either over cooked or under cooked, the hotdogs somehow don't seem as flavorful, and the pizza sits in a heater for hours now (or at least tastes like it). read more

I used to go here and order the Italian Beef because they are open late and the Beef was decent. The last time I ordered to-go from them late one night, they pulled a "Leo Getz" on me and F*cked me at the Drive-thru. They knew I was gonna be miles away before I noticed...
