I love Lumi Nail Studio so much! All the nail techs here are extremely talented and can freehand any design. They all take their time prepping my nail beds and cuticles that there are never any hang nails or ripped skin around my nails as the weeks go by. The gel never lifts or chips either even though I am a climber. I can't ever stop staring at my nails whenever I get them done here.

Ok, I was really hoping this time would be better. And it almost was! I finally got the design I wanted and I do like it very much, but two things are causing me to lower my review. 1. My partner and I booked Olivia and Evelyn because of their excellent reviews on Vagaro. But upon arrival, my partner was directed to Olivia and I was seated with Sylvia without any acknowledgement of the change. 2. More importantly, I've been working hard to grow out my nails and wanted to make sure I kept a good amount of length. But on her initial pass with the drill, Sylvia took so much length off of my thumbnail that it had to be filed below my fingertip. I asked for a round shape but because she took so much length off, I ended up with rounded squares. I'm really upset about the length. I will say my partner's nails look great, and if I decide to return (which is a big "if") I'll be sure to book with Olivia (and hopefully get who I booked with).

This review is definitely long overdue. I've been coming to Lumi for maybe almost 2 years now and I've always gone to either Mandy or Crystal (but honestly all the nail techs are awesome). Such a clean environment with some good reality TV playing as you get your nails done. They're always professional, quick, and they do such amazing work! I discovered Lumi via IG because I was looking for someone that could do very intricate designs - Lumi hit the mark! Will continue coming back here.

I've passed by Lumi Nails so many times and had no idea it was even there! I finally stopped in and booked with Tina. I showed her a photo of what I wanted and she absolutely nailed it. She was also super clear about pricing before we started, which I really appreciated. I hate being surprised at the end of an appointment. The only downside is the parking. There are only three spots in the back, and whatever you do DO NOT park near the massage spots. The woman from the massage place will come outside and yell at you (if you're just near her space. She's over it! ) So just plan ahead for parking! Other than that, Tina is amazing and I'll definitely be back.

This review is loooong overdue but I love this place! I have tried at least four different techs and they truly are all really great. All the girls focus on quality and I feel like the prices are pretty fair. Also, my nails have never lasted so long at any other salon. I could easily go a month without returning with no chipping.

This review is for Olivia! I wanted to get my wedding nails done for a design that was done by Joan. The design was originally for my bachelorette trip but it got such great feedback that I decided to do it for my wedding too. I just LOVE her gel application. She applies just enough so that there isn't excess spilling out, and she is super neat about it. She cleans up excess gel even if there's a little bit. She's super detail oriented and is direct about her questions. Another thing is she's transparent about what you'd be paying for. She always mentions what will be added cost before she proceeds. I feel like nothing can slip past her cuz she's always on top of it. I will def come back for her!

I religiously come here to see Vivian every 3-4 weeks. My nail retention is always so good, never any lifting or chipping, and I have never broken a nail with the hard gel. Today I tried some Christmas nails and of course she delivered! I would highly recommend!

This place was a game changer. Recommended all my coworkers and they all love this place. The Japanese gel keeps my nails intact and they last LONG! I'm a builder gel kind of girl, but hated how thick they come out. With the Japanese gel, it keeps it nice a thin making it look very natural! Trust my nails with Olivia always! She copied the design I want to the TEA! Will only come here for my nails!

I'm always in awe at how amazing my nails turned out since getting my nails done at Lumi this year. I've only seen Tina so far and she's been killing it every single time!! She's very gentle, precise, and detail oriented in her nail art while always checking in with me if the designs are good. The results always look exactly the same as the inspo pic. This is my absolute favorite nail salon. I always get builder gel so that my natural nails don't chip. All the nail techs here are precise and take their time prepping the nails. They meticulous about their work. I've tried other nail salons and have immediately regretted it. The nails last for a month without lifting. Love this spot.

I've been going to Iris at Lumi for the past few months after this salon cam highly recommended by a coworker with amazing nails. First, Lumi is super easy to book an appointment - I love that it's all online and there's no jumping through hoops or waitlists etc. I've never had an issue getting an appointment with Iris when I'm looking for one. I always do a manicure with hard gel overlay and design. They last for 4+ weeks with no chips and breaks. Iris has such attention to detail when shaping and building my nails. And she kills the design every time. The shop is clean and peaceful and there is usually something Netflix playing on TV. Parking is really easy to find in the area - I usually park on Mountain and have never had a problem. I've already recommended Iris and Lumi to a few friends and no one has been disappointment. 10/10 recommend!

I love Lumi Nail Studio! I've been looking for a high quality nail salon with talented technicians who could do interesting and crazy designs but struggled for years. I've been going here since 2023 and drive all the way from West Hollywood to Pasadena to get them done. Every time I'm here I know I will get a fully spectacular set, done with precision, meticulousness and quality. Every technician I've had has been great and so open to working with me on the design, when I'm very indecisive and have lots of reference ideas. They're patient and suggest great ideas when I'm stuck. I've done gelx extensions and builder gel sets here and my nails are happy and healthy afterwards. Will be going back forever and ever! I have been going to Lumi for the past year or two after a friends recommendation and I love it! They are so good and it always stays for sooooo long and I've convinced multiple friends to come to Lumi if they want long lasting manicures! Today I went to the lake location and had such a great experience, with Vivian. She was so kind and answered all my nail questions since it was my first time getting cat eye! She took her time with getting the shape perfect and checked in with me throughout the process to make sure I liked the length, shape, color etc... She was so friendly and made me feel comfortable plus the nails are super gorgeous! read more

I wanted to get some cute nails done before my trip and I had Joan as my tech. She did a great job with the design and they're so cute! I was a little bit thrown off at a few things though: - the lengths and shape of each finger were all off. I wish she would have taken the time to make them a bit more even or at least let me know - the nails are kind of thick. My nails are already thick and strong (despite what she told me about them being thin) and I think she applied too much of the builder gel when minimal was needed Other than that, she was nice and the designs came out really nice :) read more

Very overpriced for the quality you receive. I came in looking for 3D nail art and left with lumpy bumpy nails that I had to fix with my own nail supplies at home. It looked cute from far away but as you inspected closer there were so many bubbles and lifting edges. It was obvious the nail tech I went to was inexperienced with 3D nail art because she kept saying it was too hard to work with as she applied it to my nails and would often apply it very unevenly and even going over the edge of my natural nail. The 3D nail art ended up coming off a week later as well so I ended up having to file it off and apply gel clear coat myself. read more

Vivian!!! The cutest hello Kitty nails I've ever done!!!! Especially for 3D part!!!!! Amazing I just had my nails done here and I'm honestly blown away! Vivian not only has amazing skills but also incredible taste. Every detail is perfect -- the shape, the color match, the design -- everything looks so clean and elegant. Convenient because they are one of the few nail shops open in the area on Monday. My usual shop in Altadena is not open on Monday. Lumi is a soulless nail shop. No welcoming smile or attitude. No creativity and or appreciation for variety. No extra special care. Super expensive and super not worth it. If you are looking for a cold and callus nail shop then this is perfect place for you! read more

$120 hard gel manicure lasted only 8 days Before I get into it, I understand it might be aggressive to write a review before contacting the business, but it would be an 80 minute round trip to get the nail fixed, and I already spent $120 (before card fee and tip, which brought it up to $138). tldr; $120 hard gel manicure (ombre + cat eye + stickers) lasted only 8 days I went to lumi for the first time after following the nail shop online for over a year. I've only got gel manicures 3 times previously (Oct 2024, Nov 2024, July 2025), and I knew I needed someone experienced for what I wanted for my birthday nails. I sought out Crystal specifically after seeing her work online and her amazing reviews. Unfortunately, my manicure started falling apart yesterday (Nov 22) after only 8 days (Nov 14, see receipt attached). There's nothing outside of regular life that my hands have been through. My work is by pen, paper, and computer. I didn't handle any hard tools or materials, haven't gone swimming or otherwise submerged myself in water (though this shouldn't matter within 10 days, as I understand), don't play any contact sports (basketball & soccer being the threshold for contact level), I do not rock climb, I have not fallen down, and the hardest treatment they have gone through is in cooking meals. Plus, you can tell with the nail that chipped that the edges are lifting around the chipped area, which makes me think that the quality of the manicure was not very good. On top of everything, this is the most expensive manicure I've ever paid for, which I did because I wanted quality nails, but simply, they did not last as long as the other ones. Not trying to speak for everyone else's experience or quality received, but this is what I received for nearly $140, and I'm simply really disappointed. read more

I've been to Lumi 6 times in the last years, and have had my nails done by Vicky, Mandy, Queenie, and Cici. I've had Queenie multiple times and am always happy with her attention to detail and matching both hands to look symmetrical. I always make the appointment before hand with Vagaro. Sometimes the previous appointments run late, but in general, they are very timely and very fast. The nail techs have designated nail tables, so even if you go with a friend, you likely will not be sitting beside each other. Reality TV always playing on the big TV, just the way I like it. I've also made 2 more appointments that I've wanted to change/cancel and as long as you request the cancellation in the cancellation period, I've never had any issue. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! Absolutely the best! After my previous manicurist moved, I spent about 4 years jumping around places and looking for another amazing tech until I finally found them! Crystal is absolutely amazing with highest quality hard gel manicures but she's also so incredibly skilled with nail art and massively creative. I've worked with several of the techs though and have always left with amazing results though for both manis and pedis. I'm a toddler parent who is pretty rough on my nails and my sets always hold up for a month or more with no issues. They're the greatest if you're looking for a high quality gel that holds up beautifully! read more

I got gel x removal, hard gel on natural nails, and a gel pedicure. They did my mani and pedi at the same time and both turned out great! I showed a picture of a color I liked and my nail tech matched it perfectly. They had a great color selection and they have fun gems for 3d designs. I had been desperate to find a nail salon that actually honors your appointment time because I've had too many experiences where I book in advance and am left waiting for half an hour. Lumi was so prompt and they will not overbook so if you're someone who values that and don't mind booking ahead of time, it's the ideal salon. read more

All the ladies here are so kind and friendly. You have to prepay online when you make your appointment, which I was wary about, but it all works out. This was my first time getting my nails done since the pandemic started and it was such treat. I showed Wendy a picture of some nails I liked and she improvised to make it as close as she could. She took her time to get the designs to my liking and was patient when I changed my mind a few times. I added rhinestone and pearl details to six nails and it was about $65 extra. Ria was super nice and gave me a matching gel pedicure. The calf massage was amazing, always my favorite part! read more

Love this place! They always go above and beyond my expectations. The nail art is beautiful, and they're very gentle with my hands. At other salons I've ended up with cuts and paid more for nail art that wasn't great, but at Lumi, even though it can be a bit pricey, the experience is absolutely worth it. They even have shows playing in the background while you get your nails done, which makes it more fun. I always go to Cindy--love her work! I'd give 10 stars if I could. read more

I went to Lumi Nails because I saw their work online, and the team is clearly talented. My nail artist was friendly and made sure I was happy with the shape, length, and color, which I appreciated. That said, my overall experience wasn't great. I had requested a regular (non-gel) manicure with glitter flecks or a small design, which was approved when I booked. When I arrived, I was told they don't offer any design or add-ons with a regular manicure - only a single color. This was the main reason I came in, so it was disappointing. The service itself felt rushed and not very sanitary. There was no towel laid over the armrest (which hadn't been cleaned between clients), the nail file was communal (not disposable), and my cuticles were trimmed dry right after filing. This led to two cuts (with blood) on one finger. The artist apologized and sealed it, but the process felt more like an "express manicure"--file, cut, paint, and quick lotion on both hands (no real massage). While I appreciated her friendliness and attention to shape and color, I left feeling uncomfortable and won't be returning. read more

I was also advised to take photos to document the date in case I couldn't come in right away. When I came in today, I was told I would be charged because I had gel builder, as if a gel builder manicure is only expected to last four days. I showed the picture and let them know what I was told, unfortunately they do not keep their word. This was very disappointing and completely inconsistent with what I was originally told. To make matters worse, after fixing the nails, the staff did not help me find a color that matched my existing nails and instead rushed me to "make a decision." The entire experience felt unprofessional and customer service was clearly not a priority. Unfortunately, this experience reminded me why I stopped coming here in the first place. It seems the focus is more on making money than on standing behind the quality of the work or taking care of customers. I left feeling disappointed.

I had a very disappointing experience with my 3:30 PM appointment with Yoki. I arrived early, yet she was running late and only attended to me after 3:30. From the start, she seemed rushed and rough when removing the varnish, and she wasn't as careful when shaping my nails. She even skipped important steps, such as removing the cuticle. When I showed her the nail design I wanted, she suggested using stickers instead, claiming it would be faster. I found this unacceptable, as I had arrived on time and it wasn't my fault that she was overbooked or running late -- but I was trying to be understanding. Her inattentiveness continued--she forgot that I had specifically requested hard gel and applied a regular gel base instead. I had to remind her after she had already applied a layer, which resulted in my nails feeling unnecessarily thick and uneven. As she applied the polish, I noticed streaks and commented on it. Her response shocked me: she asked, verbatim, "Do you wanna change person?" I was stunned and just stared at her, after which she followed up with, "Because I don't know how to do that." At that point, I snapped and told her, "We don't have to continue this if you don't know how to do nails." There was silence, and no apology. She asked me what I wanted to do next, and I told her it was up to her. She continued working, but the experience was deeply unpleasant. What's worse, she proceeded to talk about me in Mandarin, assuming I wouldn't understand. This behavior is unprofessional and unacceptable. I have never been treated this poorly during a service appointment. The lack of care, respect, and basic skill needs to be addressed immediately read more

The reference picture has a diff design on every nail, I got the same 5 designs on both hands. She charged me 137 for the design. That is the most ridiculous price I've paid. She never mentioned it would be that expensive and I never imagined it would be anywhere close to that. It was partly my fault for not asking the price before we began but this quality of work is not worth over 200. A price like that is something you discuss with the client. I never would have agreed to get them done if I knew. I questioned her when she gave me the price and she mentioned it was 137 for the design because it was difficult and took 2 and a half hours. I appreciate that she did her best but to look at that work and think to charge someone 137 is insane, without even letting me know beforehand. I paid and even tipped 15 because I just try to avoid conflict but I am so upset and feel stupid for spending that much on a mediocre nail design. I would avoid this place for any kind of design. In response to the owner: No I'm not happy with the work. It looks nothing like the picture I showed. And it's worrisome that you as an owner think it's acceptable to charge 137 for a design (210 total) with work that looks like that.

Last minute decided to get my nails done with my best friend who had already scheduled an…read moreappointment with her nail tech. I don't get my nails done very often so I had just went in as a walk-in, and to my surprise it was pretty busy since it was around the end of the business day already. BUT, it didn't take very long to find them someone to help me get a full set. I thought I was going to get a full acrylic set, but I was convinced to get Gel-X instead because of what I wanted, as well as the state of my nails (I'm a nail biter). I agreed, as I do enjoy the lighter weight of the Gel-X. I then showed my tech my inspo, and gave her free reign. She nailed it. Ombre french-tip (a light pink to white) with a pearl chrome. It was stunning! I absolutely loved it! The girl next to me, who looked to me like a regular, complimented it too. I'm not a flashy girl so she kept my nails elegant and clean. Definitely recommend this spot! 10/10.

The chairs didn't look or feel comfortable, and the technician pulled out a plastic bowl that wasn't even built into the chair--it felt super makeshift, not at all what you'd expect for a nearly $100 service.
