They serve a wonderful homemade blackberry jam with the toast, which was really good and jammy. She also had her eggs done the same way as me and they were cooked to perfection. Our server was very friendly, and apologetic when we ordered two different things they ran out of. What We Ordered: - Negroni: My boyfriend said this wasn't very good and could only taste Campari. - Dirty Vodka Martini (Grey Goose): One of my usual drinks, but this was made with citrus notes which is very puzzling as a dirty vodka martini should have olive brine, not citrus. Olives and citrus do not belong together, but I drank it as I hate food waste. - Aperol Betty: I switched to this as it was listed as one of their cocktail specials, so hopefully it would be better than the last? Sadly, this was very bitter even for grapefruit. Again, I drank it as to avoid waste. - Short Rib ($42): My dish as it sounded delicious with a red wine reduction as I had one last month that was divine. The dish came out, and it appears it was made with a Marsala type sauce instead. Additionally, the short rib was very tough and more like a pot roast. It did have a decent flavor, but at a price point of $42 you'd expect more. And not served with a random bone. That truly was puzzling on why it was served like that. - Risotto al Tartufo e Gamberi ($38): This was my boyfriend's dish, which I almost ordered so he did. Sadly, it lacked both flavor and consistency. My boyfriend described it as tasting like grits that sat too long that coagulated. It also lacked any depth of flavor, and very one note. Both of us were also puzzled that a largely starch-based dish (risotto) was served with a side of toast. Lastly, there were only 5 shrimp for a dish that cost nearly $40. Overall, at the price point we paid, this was not worth it. The desserts looked more promising in the cafe, and reading some of the other reviews, perhaps that is what we should have stuck to.
