So just had an awful experience at this location. Their app has changed and it is awful to use so I called in the order. After I got my order then I went back into the store to ask for an extra to tzatziki sauce because I forgot to order it. The cashier looked up and saw me and did a double take (because he had just assisted me) and I said can I get another tzatziki and he said okay. he helped the lady in front of me in line check out (she had trouble with her credit card), then helped 2 to go orders then he took a phone call and I was still there waiting and then he turned around and started packing up other meals with his back to me and never even acknowledged that I was still waiting. I was probably in the store for a total of 30 minutes for this! My daughter also ordered spicy tzatziki on her bowl and it was missing. My husband just went to eat his order and it was the wrong plate -ordered the chicken and sirloin plate and got chicken only. We will not be going back there and we have always been a good customer. read more

Slowest kitchen ever.... been here before and waited almost 45 minutes for food. I chalked that experience up to it being busy. Today however was different. Came in around 215 with no one really in the restaurant. Ordered two wraps and waiting a good twenty minutes for my order. Thankfully I got to watch the two cooks in the back hang out with no sense of urgency.... once I finally did get my order I asked for an extra side of sauce, the cashier behind the register had to ask to cook about three times before she rolled her eyes and slid some sauce across the counter. Desperate for good Middle Eastern food in SD and this is not it. I ordered a Falafal wrap and it was so bland it was like eating cardboard. Even the tahini sauce had no taste. This kind of food is suppose to be full of flavor and spices. It was also really expensive for what I got. Re: to go orders placed inside the restaurant and not over the phone - don't rely on the pager to notify you when your food is ready, don't leave the dining area with the pager and don't expect the employees to check on your order. The pager won't go off or buzz. My recommendations to the owners: repair the pagers or do away with the pagers altogether and since you have an outside dining area at Poway, have your staff go outside and call out the customer's name. If I didn't inquire, I would've been waiting for 20+ minutes. Three times the staff walked outside to deliver dine-in orders, and none of those times did they ask me about the pager on the table or my order. Poor service. And offering me free cupcakes or baklava won't make up for it. read more

I must disclose that I was somewhat bitter entering this place, as I was mourning the abrupt closure of The Chicken Pie Diner, a Poway institution. The landlords gave the lease to this corporate venue. But, I was in the area, early for a hair appointment, so I thought I'd give it a try. There are lots of healthy options here. I chose the Mediterranean chicken salad. The order arrived promptly and the server was cheerful and accommodating. I asked for a side of tzaziki to dip my pita into, and she brought it right away. The greens were fresh and well dressed and served with couscous (little white balls of yumminess). The chicken was a bit dry and a bit skimpy. It was good, but not great. Everything about this place is "corporate"--it's clean and well appointed. I prefer Athens market in Carmel mountain, which is family owned, serving authentic Greek recipes. I love that this restaurant opened up in this plaza. I work right next door at target so it's the ideal place for me to grab lunch. The food is amazing and I always get my food in a timely manner. One server in particular doesn't even make me think twice about returning. Alex was his name, he was incredibly kind and understanding of my time restriction on my lunch break. This location just recently opened up. The service was fantastic and the meal delicious. I got the kids menu chicken kebabs. It came with a large portion of rice, good sized chicken chunks, a few cucumber slices and pita bread. While I couldn't eat the bread for allergies, the plate itself was enough for lunch. The portions on the regular entree were double the kids size. There's variety from salads, sandwiches to a la carte. Can't wait to try it again. Shout out to Rhi, Ashley, Felipe, and Laura! I was offered free lunch as a they were doing a test run before their official opening tomorrow. I haven't been to any other Luna Grill locations, but after my experience today I might be coming here often! The falafel wrap was great and they even offered a multigrain wrap that is thinner than pita bread. Many pros, one con. The food and service here are great. We are a family of four and we requested three customized meals and it was no problem. Each one of us loved our meal and the portion sizes are just right, even the kids meals. The only con was that it is a bit pricier than we would like. It is a walk up and order restaurant then they bring the food to you but our meal cost $45. That's about $10 more than I would expect. Would still recommend Luna Grill even with the slightly higher prices. Great food!!!! read more
