I decided to get some Lupe Tortilla for lunch and I was highly disappointed. The website is definitely a catfish for what they actually serve you. Piss poor lemonade, soup, burrito, and nachos. I had the chicken tortilla soup and it tasted like straight tomato juice. I thought the lemonade would at least be good but no, it tasted expired. My husband gave them a call to let them know they lacked all ingredients for the supreme nachos he ordered and on top of that, they forgot our sides of beans and rice. The things that are consistent are the food quality, the drink quality, the ambience and the fact that my wife has been in the bathroom several times with employees, and the female employees do not wash your hands after using the restroom ever. Really disappointed with how the quality has changed here. We used to frequent here every few weeks as one of our favorite spots, and it's gotten notably worse over the last couple years. I understand prices have increased everywhere since COVID.. The menu lists quantity of meat at set prices, so should be objective in how much you receive but our entire party agreed the portions were substantially lower this past visit. I doubt either serving was the full 1lb before cooking. The fajitas used to have a good dark sear on them and now they're just kind of pale and wet. The bar has some real throughput issues as well and it took a good 20 min to receive a drink on multiple instances. We may try the arboretum location to see if it's just the RR one which is lacking, but for the price it's just not worth it anymore at this one. read more

We went Sunday and we made it well known my daughter has Celiac disease which is a gluten allergy. I know not every restaurant is gonna be 100% for CC but I asked for clean gloves and due diligence. Do you know what sucks is when the female bartender cuts off a female client after only one 16oz beer and one shot within an hour's time while I'm eating a half basket of chips and beans. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. Upon arriving at the Togo pickup register, I stood waiting for assistance, but no one acknowledged my presence despite several staff members passing by and glancing in my direction. It wasn't until several minutes later that the staff member assigned to the register finally appeared. MISSING ITEMS. To my disappointment, none of the items we ordered came with any accompaniments such as chips, salsa, or sauces, even though I had specifically inquired with the staff member before leaving if everything was included in the bag, and she had assured me that it was. FOOD ARE HORRIBLE. The quality of the food was equally disappointing. We had ordered beef, shrimp, chicken fajitas, and queso. Regrettably, all the dishes tasted rather bland. The beef and queso in particular had an unpleasant sour (lime) undertone that was off-putting. It's been a long time since I have dined at Lupe's Tortilla so it was easy for me to choose this spot since they opened a location near the outlet mall that is convenient. This place gets packed! People love this spot. We came on a Saturday around 5:56pm and we were seated around 6:15pm. Not bad for a packed spot. Our server was attentive and greeted us pretty quickly when we were seated. I went with the chicken burrito so I could try the fajita meat. The server said that the fajitas are popular here, but they serve it by the pound. Half a pound sounds like a lot of meat and I was not that hungry. The fajita meat in the burrito was tasty. The green sauce on the burrito or chili gravy had good flavor. I was thinking they would put queso on the burrito, but it was on the side. The rice and beans were ok. No complaints on the food. I can't wait to try something else! read more

On April 3, I called Lupe tortillas and spoke to a lady who told me that I could not make a reservation for a large party. She advised me to just come in. On April 6 I called again and the same lady told me everything was fine that they were going to be able to accommodate my party. On arrival we were told that that was not correct. The Manager was able to help us out and got us seated right away. The service was great. We had a server by the name of Xavier when we were done with the dinner we all got our checks and we were charged $58 a couple, we were getting ready to leave. The server came to us and told us that the tickets were for 58 should've been for 68. My daughter-in-law and myself gave him our card and allowed him to charge another $10. Two different transactions.My nephew handed him the other $10 in cash 58 was charged on his card. On Monday all our bank accounts were charged $68 plus an additional $10 separate transactions. I immediately called and asked to speak to the manager. I notified my daughter-in-law in which same thing happened to her. She called as well. It is now Tuesday and no one has returned our call. My nephew has also been charged $68 in which they change the transaction from 58 to 68 without our consent. This is very disappointing because Lupe is actually a good restaurant. that we love to go too. read more

After a long drive up from Houston, we thought we had hit a jackpot with Lupe Tortilla being smack dab in front of our hotel. So, we were exhausted from the day and we thought we'd just order online and walk over to pick up our order. Nope! Online said it would be an hour wait and we weren't sure if they would read the special instructions regarding no meat on their 'Original Burrito'. Therefore, we trekked a few steps over to try an attempt at eating on the patio. Sadly, the hostess stated it was currently closed and even if someone picked up the table ,we had to wait our turn for 45 minutes. We asked about placing a special request online for no meat for the vegetarian and were assured that the staff reads the special instructions. Therefore, after reading somewhere online that masks were required here, but not seeing anyone from staff to patrons wearing one, we opted to return to the hotel and order Door Dash. Well, get a load of what happens next! First, our order arrives an hour later. Next, there were no napkins or eating utensils anywhere in the bag! It's late and we had to go down to the closed hotel eatery and grab some of the only visible eating utensils, SPOONS. Then, we get to our hotel room and discover that the restaurant honored our request of putting the meat in a separate container. However, we were angered to find a meaty sauce all on top of the burrito. The vegetarian had to spoon it all out! Nowhere on the menu does it state that the ancho sauce on their 'Original Burrito' has meat in it! Here's exactly what it says, "THE ORIGINAL BURRITO Carne molida, flour tortilla, frijoles, ancho sauce, queso, tomatoes, onions, lettuce. 14.95." Lastly, granted the portion size if my chicken dinner was bountiful! However,it was extremely difficult to eat a chicken breast with a spoon and my rice and beans were cold by now! I am disappointed in this Lupe Tortilla location! By this time , we're just over it! After trying the fajitas here I am convinced they are some of the best I've ever had. First of all, the tortillas are larger than the plates (!!!) and the meat was so tender and flavorful. Every time I've eaten at Lupe, I leave in pain... in a good way. I can eat my weight in their fajitas. So much deliciousness! Also I will add that the fajitas for one is PLENTY to feed two people. The portions are huge so don't let the menu prices scare you off. Everything here tastes like it's made with love (not frozen or microwaved). Can't recommend Lupe enough. read more

Basic TexMex nothing special. We celebrated a bday here recently so we had 8 celebrants. My initial thought this will be a $hit show ordering drinks and splitting the check. Well just slap me silly as we had great service, cocktails arrived were drained dry, and lo and behold reinforcements appeared in the nick of time. All of our dinners were AOK! The table ordered chili, fajitas, quesadillas, all the usual TexMex Favs. Portions were plentiful and service on a busy night was great. We do have a Lupe's near us in the CP but this locale is much newer, cleaner, and better managed. Set your expectations accordingly and you foodies will be just fine. read more
