The lobster was bland, and the best part was the toasted brioche roll. I was underwhelmed and definitely wouldn't think this dish would be served at a high-end SEAFOOD restaurant. Our first time dining here. We arrived early for our reservation and were seated immediately. Waiter was attentive and adaptable to our dining pace. All restaurant staff were kind and attentive. We went to dinner here with another couple about a month ago. I received an email the next day following up on the visit, which I thought was smart of them to send. I responded to the email, thinking they might appreciate feedback. I was surprised that I never received a response. This was my email: I appreciate the follow up, thanks! We actually had a pretty disappointing experience last night.  As a new restaurant I'm sure you're open to feedback so I'd happy to share. -hostess didn't even look up when we walked up to the host stand and then when we said the other couple was minutes away in a cab she said to go wait in the lobby.  Would've appreciated if she would have seated us. -service was incredibly slow.  I don't blame our waitress as she seemed to be taking care of tons of tables, but it was very very slow and no one came to our table for a while. -I'm gluten and dairy free, but fish places are usually great at accommodating.  There were a bunch of dishes that looked good to me when I looked online.  We were told about a few dishes they were out of when ordering and I settled on the snapper.  Then about 20 minutes later I was told there was no more snapper.  And then she checked about 2 other fish dishes and came back saying those wouldn't work and steak was my best bet.  Fine, and the steak was good, but I didn't pick a fish place to get steak.  I also love mushrooms with steak when I have it and they were out of that too. I know it's a rough time for restaurants right now and we love supporting restaurants, but our experience was unfortunately less than ideal. Hope that's helpful feedback. We had a great time stopping by for Happy Hour on Friday afternoon! The HH deals were excellent, and all the seafood came out tasting fresh and delicious. We had the seafood plateau for two, oysters, and multiple sushi rolls. The staff were helpful and attentive in getting our drinks, clearing the table between courses, and getting orders to us in a timely manner. We had a great time and are sincerely looking forward to coming back! Do yourself a favor and order the burger or sliders--the bacon onion jam is insane! read more

We stopped in for happy hour on a Thursday. Of note, seating for this is in the bar and lounge area only and is first come first serve. We were in the area and arrived when happy hour started right at 4pm and there was no problem getting a table in the lounge area. Ambiance: the bar and lounge area was comfortable. There are a couple tables with larger sofa style single chairs and a small table and then also more traditional tables. Of course there is also the bar. Overall welcoming and nice area. Service: this was one area that could be improved. I understand we are in the bar area so I do not expect the same service as the regular restaurant. However, it took 1 hour to get all of our food after ordering and we had to remind a server about items that had not come to the table. We also had multiple servers throughout the time as I don't think they are assigned to tables. The servers were nice, I just think communication and waiting time can be improved. Food: We got multiple items on the happy hour menu and were satisfied. - Half dozen oysters: these were fresh, tasty, and served on ice with cocktail sauce and mignonette - Shrimp po boy slider: these come individually, but are worth it and fantastic. Flavor is awesome and shrimp is perfectly cooked. Highly recommend. - Calamari: decent portion and the calamari had a great texture and breading without any "rubbery" feel. It came with a nice sweet and bitter sauce - Salmon nigiri, spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon roll: these were all good. Not the best I've ever had, but far from the worse. Definitely worth the price Price: our bill with tax and tip was around $65 which is great for everything you get! Overall I would recommend stopping by for the happy hour special if you enjoy seafood and a variety of items. read more

My husband and I walked by Lure Friday afternoon, and after checking out the menu and peeking in the window, knew it was the place we wanted to take our friends for dinner Saturday night. I really wanted to love this place but it's Meh especially for the price. Service was fine, ambiance ok (except for incessant techno music). Calamari came with giant whole pieces, legs and all, which made it difficult to eat. Sushi rice was just not right on the rolls. Specialty rolls were very small compared to most. Fish in the maki was not generous. Overall just was not good enough for a return visit with so many better options in the city. read more

Walking in it seemed lovely. It got way worse...Only people in here at 2:30pm and both orders of drinks took a hassling from the waiter to arrive. The tempura was fried in oil (who does that), the home made s&v chips were strait out of a bag of crisps - seriously??? And I could have got the same sashimi in a food court for 1/4 the price. My friend and I were celebrating a big milestone birthday and Lure was the perfect place to do such a thing! The sommelier Josh and our server Andrew were both outstanding and extremely hospitable - we felt like VIPS throughout the evening. Definitely request a banquet along the back wall of the restaurant. We enjoyed deviled eggs with caviar, deviled eggs with crispy oysters, tuna tataki, a signature roll that was a special (salmon and crab based), and the sea urchin pasta. They surprised me with a warm out-of-the-oven brownie a la mode which was gluten free and delicious. I'd order every item again and recommend. It is not inexpensive but I thought easily justifiable given the ambience, quality of food, and attentive service. We will be back! Went twice last week. Great room, music and food both times. Service is learning to work with each other but it looks like this will be a great addition to dining in River North. My complaint was having our table knocked on after 2 hours by floor mgr and told we could move to the bar. There were 3 of us and we spent $500......let us finish our drinks...c'mon man. read more

The food is pretty good but, I hope you're not in a hurry because the service is so slow and terrible. It will take over an hour to eat breakfast here and, that's when there's less than 20 customers! Also, the bartenders at night must be bi-polar! One minute you're the greatest group of customers and the next, you're "a bunch of assholes!" (Actual quote). We stayed in the hotel attached and enjoyed the "secret" entrance to the restaurant. We are not big fish-lovers, but we gave it a try. We loved the low lighting and general atmosphere. The music was odd - too loud at times and a weird mix of genres. We ate the crab cake, lobster mac'n'cheese and a steak with mashed potatoes. One of us got a cocktail and it was incredible, unlike anything else! If you are a tourist who likes to try new things, I'd recommend trying Lure! If you love sushi, fish and oysters, then you REALLY need to try Lure! read more

Perfect spot if you want a pretty restaurant. Food below average, sushi not as fresh and average rice for those prices. Service below average. Manager of the restaurant walked by at least five times and didn't notice my empty drink, dirty table. In fact he took my husband's order and walked away without making eye contact to take mine. Pacing was way too fast. Waiter forgot an item and then I was told my manager and waiter it would be out in a few minutes and it was there 10-15 minutes later. It was an app and came after entree. It was taken off the bill but rest if food is what you'd expect at an airport, not high end $$ place. Manager listened to feedback but just gave a scoop of crappy sorbet, not going back and telling people so they save their time/$. Sorry (a little) i didn't have nicer things to say. read more

Went here with friends for Restaurant Week, n we all ordered the specials. They were beautifully presented n quite tasty, but IMO not exceptional. We were told the salmon would be done medium, but when it arrived it was so raw we all sent ours back to be cooked more. When the fish was returned, it was on a small beautifully plated dish -- fabulous ! The room is lovely too. But the reason I wanted to write this review is the outstanding service! I ordered a 70.00 lobster tail entree no sides come with it... I expected to get a nice piece of lean lobster 8-12 ounces. They managed screwing up plain lobster dish... why mess with lobster? It's good when served nice and plain, a side of butter and lemon... if a dish isn't broken then it doesn't need to be fixed... they brought out a lobster scampi, they mutilated a beautiful lobster to add this breading and other stuff ... disgusting.
