Came in on a Saturday afternoon and the vibes were quiet and chill. Lots of soft natural lighting inside. We had 3 delicious beverages (they have a mocktail menu!) but the tequila/wine/cola drink was our favorite--such an interesting combo! We shared the the lamb rack plate and margarita pizza. The lamb was beautifully cooked and the veggies it came with were so yummy. We also enjoyed the pizza as it was light and fresh. We had excellent attentive service the whole way through. There's valet in the parking lot across the street and the restaurant offers a discount on valet services.
I kept seeing LYLA all over my feed so I finally went, and honestly it does feel like you're not even in Dallas, it's very like Italian beach club vibes. Service was actually really good, everyone was super nice and even the general manager came over to check on us which I didn't expect. We got the burrata first and that was easily one of my favorite things. It's not just a plain burrata, it comes with a bunch of stuff like prosciutto, pistachios, some orange slices, way more going on than I thought. It's also pretty big so you can share it. And it comes with sliced sourdough bread that's grilled with olive oil and that part... so good, I loved it. Then we got the cacio e pepe with shrimp. The pasta tasted fresh, like actually homemade, and we added shrimp, it only came with three but they were huge and cooked perfectly. It also had a little truffle in there which made it even better. We also tried the salmon with quinoa and that one surprised me, the sauce under it was really good and they got the temperature right, I asked for medium and it came out perfect. Cocktails were nice too, they have a lot of options and everything looked really good. Overall I'd go back for sure. It's more about the vibe than just the food. I've heard their brunch is really popular too so I wanna try that next.
A cute vibe for girls night but is on the pricier side. Pasta was just okay. Would probably get something else next time. The restaurant was very hot while we were dining in. It was about 7 pm on a Friday night in the summer so a bit understandable but really inconvenienced our experience. The waiter was attentive and fixed our wobbling table. Drinks were a bit on the sweet side even after sending one back. I had higher expectations going in but would say it was okay overall.
Celebrated their Galentine's Dinner special: purchase a drink, receive a meal for free. I purchased the Be Mine drink. Really cute and perfectly mix flavors. Not too strong, not too weak. The food was yummy! Small bite plates but really good food and flavors. Service was quick then slow then quick then slow again that was confusing. Nevertheless our waitress was wonderful when present. Explained the special in detailed, explain the small plates and offered to bring the regular menu out. I'd definitely try the restaurant again to get a true feel for the service and food on a regular non-special night. One sour note was the parking. The parking said $7. Upon requesting the car to pay it stated $39. When given the code for validation it reduce it to $8.81, not $7! Why is there fees attached to parking??? That's crazy and not cool. But anyways...I'd go back
Oh boy.... our party of 9 had a reservation scheduled for 9:15pm Saturday night. Our party arrived as early as 8:30p with the last guests (birthday girl & driver) arrived right at 9:15p. We were told our table was not ready -- because they'd given it to a non-reservation group of women (yes, them) -- so we'd have to wait a little longer. A little longer became 45 minutes. We were not sat until 10:15p!!! Once sat, it took about 15 minutes to even get our drink orders so at the same time, we ordered our dinner. A bartender named Stefanie came to our table and brought us a bottle of Prosecco we did NOT ask for and proceeded to tell the waitress she gave us a bottle (for free) yet the manager overheard them and said no, we cannot do that. FINE! Come get the bottle off our table since it hasn't been opened. Do you think she did that? No. She continued to ignore our table. Everything took FOREVER -- while most of the patrons were GONE out of the restaurant. We didn't receive checks until 11:08p (no exaggeration). Food was absolutely MID. A pepperoni pizza shouldn't taste so stale after being freshly made. I felt discriminated against the entire night at this place. Not a fan, won't be back. My sisters, if you know, YOU KNOW. Easter Brunch here with fam! Good service - good food - good drinks! My Espresso Martinis were yummy - and the decor of this little restaurant is really good vibes!
Honestly, I wasn't super impressed with Lyla's. I've seen so many people rave about it so I was excited to finally try it. Service was great and I did like the ambience of the restaurant, but overall it felt overhyped. We started with the Brussels sprouts which were probably the best part of the meal. For dinner, we ordered the Italian chopped salad, truffle pepperoni pizza, and feta salmon. Everything was decent, just nothing that really stood out or made me want to rush back.
The restaurant is gorgeous and definitely has the Instagram aesthetic. We went for brunch and service was quick. They had a separate brunch cocktail and food menu on top of their normal menu. The standout items to me were the salmon, truffle fries, and cocktails. The mimosa flight is a good deal and they were generous with the juice options. We got a steak & egg pizza which I was really excited for but ended up being extremely disappointed because what came out was a pizza with scrambled eggs and some pieces of steak with a mountain of arugula on top. Which would be fine but the menu description calls out "sunny side up eggs".
We were excited to try Lyla but overall left disappointed. The service was very slow / no one came to our table for 30 minutes after sitting down. Finally one of us got up to go find someone. Food was cold and not fresh, lacked flavor. Cocktails were syrupy and overly sweet. Ambiance was nice but doesn't make up for other aspects, hopefully they improve in the future
Galentine's at Lyla I attended a Galentine's Event at Lyla and it was cute & very on theme with girly vibes & definitely giving soft, pretty, photo-op energy. They offered a "complimentary" 3-course snack experience with the purchase of a drink. I don't recall the drink purchase being advertised when the promotion was first announced, but we proceeded with the experience anyway. I ordered the "Peach No Party" mocktail (peach purée, raspberry, citrus) which was refreshing, light, and perfect for a no-alcohol night. Now let's talk food The Truffle Fries were delicious ,crispy, flavorful, and easily my favorite bite of the night. The Chicken Picatta was very flavorful and paired well with the side salad that accompanied the plate. I will say... I was expecting pasta and a slightly bigger portion. But taste was on point. The portion however, could've been more generous. The cupcake was a NO GO for me. It was hard and tasted very store-bought and refrigerated. That was the only real miss. Overall, I do like the concept they were attempting to achieve. It felt thoughtful and curated for a fun girls' night out. I would definitely try them again especially if the portions get a little upgrade. Cute concept. Good flavor. Just needs a little refinement.
I had my birthday dinner here and loved it! The food was super good and our waiter was great with our table of 9. I have been thinking about that pasta for days! My only complaint would be that we had a reservation and had to still wait 35-40 minutes to be sat. Then when walking us over the host had an attitude because she was sitting us at a 6 top when we had 9 people. Other than that it was great.
The place is super cute! The food was a little pricier than the worth in my opinion. The eggs held a lot of grease. The service was okay!
Lyla is a coastal italian restaurant in Dallas that is well known for its picturesque aesthetics. The ambiance lived up to the hype and was perfect for a date night or evening gathering with friends. Overall, I thought the food was good but not great. We enjoyed the whipped egg plant as an appetizer then split the spaghetti bolognese and the truffle pepperoni pizza. I thought the pizza was great but that the pasta was ok. The service here was also just ok. Overall, I enjoyed going to Lyla but am not going to be quick to return. read more
Starting off the rating of the food , it was all freshly made very good!, however the portions didn't fit the cost at all. I also had the grilled shrimp in which I devoured before taking a picture.. Service was good , our server did an amazing job on explaining the choices on the menu. Ambiance' nice it's small gives you a feel of a nice small Italian restaurant on the cobblestone of a Mexican village with a tropical setting. Parking you pay for in which I feel you shouldn't if I'm in your establishment already patronizing.. Will I go again, yes just if I'm in the mood for something light and refreshing and a taste for a different special cocktail. But this place is definitely overpriced for the portions you receive.. read more
This restaurant is so cute and I would definitely go back for the atmosphere! The food and drinks were pretty good and flavorful. I enjoyed their appetizer dishes more than the main pasta dishes. This seems like a trend for me for lot of these pretty restaurants where the small dishes are so much better than the entrees. Service was good and it was very busy on a weekday night (Thursday) so I would make reservations if you can! read more

I come here occasionally for my "table for 1" kind of nights. The ambiance is really nice and makes me feel like I'm on vacation! Menu is all around good, just wish the main entrees had some more oomph to them! Truffle fries are delicious and always a must for me :) read more

Great looking place, but the Food (the reason you come), wasn't great. We came by for a light lunch and ordered the: Lobster Cannolini & Margarita Pizza The Pasta was very uninspired, lacking any real amount of Lobster, and the $30 price tag? 10 Bucks per piece of pasta... The Margarita Pizza seemed frozen? Hard to tell. The strange thing is that apparently they serve it with a plate of Eggs? Very confusing. They then attempted to charge us for the eggs, but removed the item from our ticket when questioned. Conclusion: money better spent elsewhere, unless you're coming for the Instagram factor. read more

I went to brunch here with my girlies and it did not disappoint! Usually when we go to brunch and the place is cute, we get disappointed by the food , but the food here was pretty good! The Spicy Orecchiette was very flavorful and spicy. Probably one of my favorite spicy vodka pastas I've had to date. The truffle carbonara was pretty good as well, but on the cheesier side, so for those of you who are lactose intolerant, I recommend bringing some lactaid! Beware their drinks are on the pricier side. The food and drinks came out pretty quickly, but we barely saw our server :( Overall, it's a good birthday brunch / girls brunch / date brunch place. Would love to come back and try it for dinner! read more
Food: pretty good, decent, presentation is beautiful. Drinks: a little pricey but worth it! If you get the spritzer they have a cute fruit bar where you can decorate your own drink. I lovedddd this place! I came with some of my family for my birthday. The ambiance is everything and I love the way the drinks come out, the presentation is up to par. The drinks were 10/10. The espresso martini was delicious. To start we got the crispy tuna which was sooo good. We ordered pizza which was sooo delicious and their steak with mashed potatoes for our entree. We didn't get any dessert, but it looked good. The service was pretty good as well. I would definitely come back to try other options. read more

Went to Lyla for a girls night and was highly disappointed with food considering the price of it all. Service (8/10): No complaints here, our waiter was friendly and attentive! Ambience: (10/10): Beautiful and trendy! Highly instagrammable place if that's your thing. Great for a date night or night out with friends. Food and value: (3/10) : For the cost of the food and the ambience and such, I definitely expected more. To start, they have a very limited menu so your options are basically, pasta, pizza, or an entree. The portions are small and honestly the flavors were just okay. Nothing that really wowed me or makes me say I want to come back. My friends who all ordered different dishes felt the same. It's all overpriced and mediocre tasting. The only thing that received rave reviews from the group was for the Salmon. Which I probably should've gotten instead. I got the Carbonara pasta (was okay and more flavorful than the one my friend got) my friend got the Spicy Orechiette pasta (pasta was over cooked and lukewarm, no flavor literally tasted like tomato sauce only). Two friends got pizzas and then one got the salmon. I think you pay for the ambience and IG posts here because the food isn't it. read more

Went here for a friends birthday. Service/staff was friendly and professional but very slow. Started with the Brussel sprouts and truffle fries, probably best part of the meal. Entrees were fine. I got the beet salad and it was really just beets, no lettuce and very very small amounts of cheese and maybe one piece of citrus. Pizza was good. Pasta was odd with the choice of noodles.. almost stuffed shell sized noodles, sauce was incredible, just the actual noodles were eh. Beautiful decor, But overall good, not incredible read more

Wow!!!!! WHAT A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE... first of all, the theme , decor & ambiance is very nice! Young crowd, mostly women , very 'instagrammable' place, with a Tulum/Cancún vibe but serving Italian cuisine =\ .. let me tell you food was so bad literally my boyfriend could not eat his pasta.. he ordered rock shrimp linguine, the pasta was overcooked, there was no seasoning but a bunch of lemon oil . The fig pizza was meh!.. for $18 i was expecting freshness & flavor but it lacked everything. We also Ordered crispy Brussels sprouts, flavor was good but extremely greasy , ordered the lump crab it had a weird taste.... Service was ok , the girl took 25min to bring a coke. .. im giving it 1 star for decor & ambiance. Oh by the way, make sure to validate your parking ticket.. valet is $35!!!!!!! Service was excellent. Drinks were excellent. Food was ok. I went here for Valentine's Day with friends and I loved the ambiance and decor. They had a cute step and repeat wall for the holiday and gave everyone roses. Everyone enjoyed the drinks and even though we sat outside , it was cozy and still felt like we were in the restaurant. Summary of the dishes: The Rock shrimp linguine and the crispy rice tuna were pretty good. Branzino- absolutely get this if you like Branzino Steak- good, you can't go wrong with steak. Jidori chicken thighs- do not order this. I have never in my life had dry chicken thighs. Do you know how hard it is to dry out dark meat? The hazelnut pesto and frisée were bitter and I did not enjoy this at all. read more

This is a gorgeous restaurant from both the exterior and within. Upon arriving there is a space to take a lovely picture, and the hosts are front and center to greet you. Cuisine wise the sweet gem caesar, spicy orecchiette and the truffle fries were our faves. Other notable dishes were the whipped eggplant and truffle carbonara. Kudos to the design team and the staff, we look forward to hosting more of our life celebrations at Lyla. read more
The ambience here definitely gives more an upscale feeling but the food was honestly mediocre for Italian cuisine. I agree with the comment that the food was expensive for the portions. Nonetheless, it is a spot for girls night or special occasions. Service was also excellent. We got truffle fries (7/10) and burrata (7/10) for the table. My experience was just okay. The food was decent but not something I would come back for. I ordered the spicy orecchiette with a side of chicken. The pasta was pretty fresh, but the sauce needed more salt. The chicken was bland and dry for my taste. My friend ordered the lobster linguine. The lobster was perfectly cooked! The only downside was it was a little messy trying to get the lobster out the shell and eat the pasta. Now for the ambiance this place gets 5/5. The inside was beautiful decorated for Christmas. I would return for pre- or post-dinner drinks. Everyone we encountered was very polite and welcoming. Our waiter gave us very honest reviews of the food and offered a few suggestions. Valet across the street is almost $40 but with the validation code from the restaurant it is only $8 (crazy!) read more

From the ambience to the customer service upon entry to the server to the food to the drinks, 10 out of 10! I highly recommend this place for girls night date night or business meeting. I had to change my reservation and the hostess was so sweet so accommodating and that's rare to find. Our waitress Kelis was beautiful, sweet and personable She definitely made the night out that much better. We only had appetizers and a cocktail, but that was just enough and the manager came and checked on us and put a smile on our face too! At the end of the day must book a resy. We had the the crispy Brussels and truffle fries! French 75 and filthy martini all were divine! read more

Ambience is amazing. We went for a date night but previously made a reservation (which I highly recommend because it gets packed fast). We had a really great waiter and really informed us about the menu. We ordered some oysters, truffle fries, truffle pepperoni pizza and spicy orecchiette for food. All which were really good! I ordered a mixed drink called the Lyla and my husband ordered a whiskey sour. Would highly recommend this restaurant for a date night! Will definitely be back. read more
Lots of hype but not worth the effort! Setting is nice, good music and vibe but the food leaves much to be desired Note: kitchen closes at 1045 but they'll take reservations up to 1030. We were rushed to order. The burrata was good. The lobster linguini... the way overcooked the lobster... basically rubber. The filet was overdone. Visited Lyla for dinner on a Sunday night and thoroughly enjoyed our experience! Ambiance - the interior of the restaurant is stunning. The variety of lighting is beautiful and the natural trees throughout the restaurant make you feel like you're in a whole new city. Perfect place for a date night or girls night out on the town! Service - we made a reservation in advance and were seated very quickly. Our server was very nice and helpful in picking out/coursing our dishes. The only service hiccup I noticed was that we weren't given new utensils after our appetizers and the mains did not come with any serving utensils, so we had to use our dirty utensils to serve ourselves (only a minor issue since we were sharing dishes). Food: Drink - Santorini Sunset - not too sweet! If you love passion fruit then I would give it a try! Apps - Roasted Cauliflower and Burrata - highly recommend the cauliflower! Salty but delicious. We also liked the Burrata, but felt that it had a smoky taste that I'm personally not too keen on. Mains - Spicy Orecchiette Pasta, Fig Arugula Pizza, Potato Puree - all the mains were delicious. I felt that the pasta could have been spicier, but it still had a great flavor! Dessert - Hazelnut Chocolate Cake - we felt that the cake was extremely dry. We were disappointed by the small amount of dessert options (only four and one is more of a drink). I would give this one a skip! read more

I got lyla delivered and visited lyla couple months ago for happy hour so this was their dinner menu. I got the two most expensive pizzas on their dinner menu u and i must say.... Disappointed!! I had the Margherita pizza for their happy hour which was also not the best compared to other restaurants like pizzana and leela's but it was good. These two were okay, i reheated it to make sure i tasted it fresh and hot but all i saw was alot of oil/grease - something i would see from dominos or pizzahut. And for paying $50 for two pizzas before tax, tip & delivery fees - heavily disappointed. The ricotta, short rib meat and truffle oil were barely there. Cant talk about ambiance and service on this post as it was delivered but i might not give this place another shot unless it's different items from the menu. read more

I really want to give this place 3.5 stars! The place is beautiful, but we somehow rarely saw our server The service was amazing in the beginning, after the server dropped off our entrees, we didn't see him. I couldn't even tell him my thoughts on the food The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. It's spacious and beautiful. Items we ordered Crispy Rice Tuna Truffle Carbonara NY Strip Potato purée You absolutely need to get the crispy rice tuna and truffle carbonara. Both items were very tasty. I don't know if we came on an off night, but the steak and potato purée- not good like I understand the potato purée is made with fresh garlic, but that shouldn't be the only thing I taste. IT WAS HEAVY GARLIC. I truly thought something was wrong lol the steak wasn't really seasoned, but was tender, we were surprised. Also, if you plan to go for dinner there will be a wait for bathrooms. I mean 2 bathrooms for an entire restaurant is wild. The third one was for employees, but they told me to use it And maybe there are other bathrooms I wasn't aware of, but our server wasn't to be found to ask. I may give this place another shot, and go with the branzino and spicy orecchiette! read more
Gorgeous aesthetic, great drinks and food! The truffle fries were crazy at around $15 but totally worth it. For dinner I had the spicy pasta (I forgot the exact name but it says the word "spicy" in the dish) - it was PERFECT! I got the Lyla (drink) and it was right up my alley. Everything I ordered I would totally get it again! We were serviced the entire time at the bar and even though it was busy, the bartender was awesome! He checked on us more than 2 times and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience all around. read more
The ambiance of this place is on point. There's a patio area facing McKinney and an exclusive lounge area in the back that seats up to twelve. Th main dining area is well decorated. At first glance, the place seems to be staffed very well. However, there seems to be growing pains as a member of the wait staff cut me off on my walk to the restroom and the manager reminded him customers first. Our biggest angst was that our waiter took the order for my main, and then walked away. My buddy never got to order. I was able to make eye contact with who I imagine is the manager after a few minutes and he took the order. Funny thing, the order that was not initially taken was the first one out. Didn't quite make sense. Food, hit and miss. I recommend the garlic shrimp, beet salad, broccolini and the olive cake. All were very good! Now the rest, unimpressive, mediocre at best. The salmon was not cooked fully in my opinion as it looked like a piece of sushi on the inside middle. The lamb chops were more red than preferred. Neither dish was going to amaze though. Can we bring balloons for birthday celebration?
I saw a group who did, but it wasn't very many maybe 2 or 3.
What is the difference between the dining room, lounge, and veranda?
The dining room is the main larger area, the lounge is closer to the bar with high tables and chairs but it doesn't really give bar vibes, in a good way. The veranda is outside close to sidewalk/street. The place is super cute.
What hours does brunch get serve?
Considering they open at 5pm everyday, I don't think they have brunch. Best to call and make sure. https://www.lylarestaurant.com/menu
