Easy to communicate with, quick, and very efficient. I have a very narrow spiral staircase up to my second floor and they were able to handle it with no problem using a long hose. My hunting cat left us some nasty surprises on the carpet, and there was also a significant amount of rat poop which I was hesitant to clean myself because bleach would stain the carpet, and they took care of it all! See before/after photos for the stains they removed. The price was quite reasonable. One thing to note is that they did raise the price by about $50 compared to the initial quote when they arrived, which I found still to be very reasonable given the state of my carpet, but worth keeping in mind when you get an estimate. They also did not initially clean the area under a small couch, which other cleaners have cleaned in the past (it's quite a light couch, you can push it to the side easily). When I called about it though they came back right away the next day to get that area. Really bad experience with this company. I have a two bed apartment and they spent an hour cleaning. It initially looked ok but as it dried the stains started coming back. Dabbed at the stains with a paper towel and was able to pull up lots of dirt on multiple spots. Additionally they didn't extract almost any water and my apartment is still damp after two days. I did exactly what they said and it didn't work in terms of drying it. Also in many areas it feels as if there is still soap in the carpet as it is very tacky. I reached out explaining what happened and they refused to come back and fix it. They only spent 1hr in my apartment and charged me $400. They did not tell me any potential risks of cleaning in my apartment. I have hired steam cleaners before and have never had this issue, additionally if I had issues with persistent stains they had come back with no additional charges. Overall, they did the absolute bare minimum and I would not recommend them. read more

Extremely unprofessional and frustrating experience. My appointment was canceled before the technician even arrived, with the explanation that there was "no parking." However, I had clearly communicated in advance that the garage has a height restriction, but guest parking is available, and there is also street parking directly in front of the building that can accommodate a cleaning truck. Despite being provided with these details ahead of time, they still refused to proceed with the service. This points to poor communication and a lack of willingness to follow through on scheduled appointments. At no point during booking was I informed that parking limitations would prevent service. Canceling last-minute -- even after confirming viable parking options -- shows a lack of professionalism and respect for the customer's time. I had already arranged my schedule around this appointment, so this was a complete waste of time. I would not recommend this company based on reliability and communication. I used this company a week ago to clean my large area rug. They came out, set up, sprayed the rug, did a pass with the vacuum, and was done in about 10-15 minutes. They told me to run my ceiling fans and leave my door open and the rug should be dry by the next morning. Unfortunately, it was not dry and began to mildew. The smell permiated my entire home. I reached back out and they came back to do a "light" cleaning of the front and back of the rug. This time I was told it needed to hang on my fence outside overnight. Well, I brought it in this morning and left to run a few errands. Came back and that musty, mildew smell is back throughout my house. I just rolled up the rug and threw it on my porch. It's ruined and now I have to buy a new one. I'm really disappointed that this is the outcome but now I know to not use another service again. Gave two stars as they did come back out. read more

Overall, great service. The communication is professional and prompt. However, to echo some of the prior comments, they do add on costs to the initial quote. They do let you know about these costs ahead of time (one was following the initial quote and the other was on the day of service). While their initial quote is one of the lower if not lowest of Bay Area local options, the final price ends up being similar if not higher than some others, so would recommend keeping this in mind as you compare quotes. For example, if you live in an apartment complex that does not have parking in close proximity to your unit, as of mid 2023, there is an additional $30 charge for use of a portable device. You spend a lot of time in your bed - if not, prioritize getting better acquainted - but when you start feeling gross about the sheets, or the cover, you simply wash it. The couch probably comes in second in terms of Most-Utilized-Piece-Of-Furniture but sadly it's not easy to clean thoroughly. Spot clean? Sure. Febreze to conceal the smell? Yeah. But probably disinfect and scrub down? Well, that requires an expert(s). This is where M&J comes in! I received a super fast response to my quote request ($99 for couch cleaning + $30 fee for the portable equipment) and a same day availability! They were $50 cheaper than other service providers. In the end, I'm super happy. They showed up on time, did the job within 30 minutes or so, left no mess behind, and were courteous and transparent throughout the process (some stains are like scars, they're here to stay). I contact several companies via Yelp projects and M&J was one of the few to reply quickly and intelligently. They gave me a quote for cleaning an 8x10 wool area rug that was reasonable. They had many great reviews so choosing them was easy. We scheduled a date and time. They contacted me during our time window to say they were running about 15 minutes late which was fine. While waiting I for them I put the rub on top of a drop cloth in my driveway to keep the rug clean. While unrolling I discovered the rug had several dark mold stains from being stored in the garage. Once they arrived I was quickly informed that the rug could be cleaned but the stains would remain. I decided not have it cleaned and gave them a few dollars for their time. Another company may have been able to remove the stains but the price would have exceeded the carpet's worth. In the end, my review is based upon great communication and an honest expectation before work began. read more

M&J were very communicative from the start, were by far the most affordable company, showed up on time, were quick and professional. A note to others like ourselves. We live in a rental so hadn't had our carpets cleaned in many years. We suspected that the gray layer of dirt was pretty much the only thing holding our carpets together, so once the carpets were cleaned and the top layer of soil was removed, many stains emerged. Upon extensive online research, this seems to be a common situation and it's no fault of the carpet cleaner, but if you haven't cleaned in years, do know that you may end up with significantly more stains after the fact, especially if you treated them with lots of water and solvents at the time as I did. In addition, though the carpets felt dry to the touch, when I walked on them barefoot they felt quite sticky, which turns out was just an issue of time. After another day of drying they were fine, and though I freaked out and messaged Soledad multiple times, she was still willing to have them come back and rinse our carpets. In this case I was the inadvertent asshole and they were professional and accommodating, so they deserve more than 5 stars!! read more

Then when Came to an appointment, tried to upcharge and when I okied it but said will not get you a good review, I got an argumentative call from the office saying I never communicated anything with them which is not true and left with no job done last day of moving out. On Wednesday I contacted this business for service. I was given a date for Friday and a time. I contacted them again on the day they were suppose to arrive only to find out that they had to cancel and can't come until Tuesday! I rearranged my home and schedule for them to come Friday. My Husband and I took off work for this job. No other company was able to come same day with short notice so we will have to take more time off to get this done with a better company. This is so frustrating and unprofessional. If I hadn't contacted them to give my address I would not have known they weren't coming. I'm so furious right now.
