The taste is what you'd expect from Korean fried chicken - I don't think it necessarily stood out from other chains I've tried, but it wasn't bad either. Definitely hits the spot if you're craving chicken! We ordered kimchi fried rice along with kimchi fries, but they gave us regular fries instead of rice. Unfortunately we had gotten home when we realized this and their options were to refund the rice or give us a voucher for a combo for later. We chose the latter. Ultimately though the order itself felt rather incomplete and we were pretty disappointed. Additionally, our large combo only got us 1 serving of radish which ratio-wise doesn't make much sense. I have tasted better at other places. They have a nice assortment of beer on tap. Big on soju drinks. I didn't see any hard liquor on the shelves. I ordered the #2 ($11.95) consisting of 5 wings and fries and selected the soy garlic flavor. If you like spicy, there's a hot version of soy garlic available. Or you could do half and half. Not sure how half and half works with an odd number of wings though. The fries were nothing out of the ordinary, but the wings were exceptional, with that signature thick crispy crunchy skin and tender meat. Scrumptious! Yes! I recommend Mad for Chicken, the original OG of this company. You can't be in Flushing and not have Mad for Chicken. We got the Veggie Chicken Bowl and Tenders combo. I was driving so I couldn't eat chicken wings like I wanted too. My favorite place in the world is Paris and Flushing Queens. Flushing has the best food in all of New York City. We decided to try their soy garlic chicken wings and drumsticks combo with french fries and rice. Been here many times and I'm always back whenever my friends are in town visiting. Super casual, fast, chill, and good food! I've been here for lunch and dinner on weekends and weekdays and the food has always been consistent and the staff have always been friendly. Later in the evenings the place gets crowded, but it's always a good time. Love that they give our popcorn while you're waiting for the food. Overall, I was not too impressed with Mad For Chicken. We came on a Friday night and was seated immediately. When we were about to order, one of the servers approached us and asked if we can kindly move to a different table because there was a table of 8 waiting at the door and our seats were better suited for larger parties. But anyways, we waited an additional 10 minutes to be seated (again). We ordered a bunch of things, quesadilla, fries, some drinks and the combo chicken. Everything was not bad, but not great. The soy garlic and spicy garlic wings was wayyy too salty and the batter that the chicken was coated in was way too hard (when it cooled down a bit). We used our yelp check in bonus, which was one free shot of lychee soju, but instead, the server brought us the large jug of lychee soju and said it was on the house due to changing our tables last minute. My party and I had our meal, and proceeded to call for check. We paid for the meal, but after we had paid, I decided to double check the items on the receipt to make sure we weren't charged for the lychee soju (since it was on the house) .... but we were. I called the server over and at first, they were confused as to why I was claiming that I should not have to pay for the lychee soju, but they later realized it was because they moved our tables. I think the small would've been perfect for us but we got some extras to take home. The fried chicken was made fresh and it definitely showed and satisfied. The Kimchi Fried Rice was delicious as well, but definitely not for the weak. It had a good amount of spice and not to toot my own horn, my spice tolerance is preeeeetty up there. I appreciated how they added some peas and carrots into the rice, but I can see that this can be a turnoff for others. Overall, this place did well in satisfying our KFC craving.
