Here for work and I stopped in for a solo dinner. I sat at the bar and Anthony took great care of me. He was polite, friendly and his drinks were on point! I had the house Old Fashion which is made with a twist of ingredients. It was delicious! I highly recommend the Champagne Chicken. The sauce was superb. The atmosphere is casual yet romantic. Went for birthday celebration expecting a wonderful authentic Italian meal! It was horrible. Change of name but same bad food. Gave it a try under new name and ownership but definitely won't be going back. Same chef explains a lot. Only thing that was edible was salad and fried mozzarella sticks. All pasta dishes were so salty and not edible. Pizza was under cooked, very salty and not edible. On a positive note the waitress was okay. They have a Spicy Italian Pizza that I love. I came here for second dinner of the nite. Our gracious host Ryan said he'd never seen anyone eat the whole pizza. I was full halfway through but I didn't want to let him down. Luckily the pizza is so good I was able to eat the whole thing. We checked this place out on NYE. We ordered the goat cheese & honey dip, pizza, fettuccine capriccioso, and calamari. Everything was so delicious! We wish we could have handled more food to try more that day but we got full from our initial order. We will definitely be back. The food was delicious, generous and hot. The Caesar Salad was perfect. Service was good also. Our waiter was very good. Smiled and friendly. Efficient too. The ambiance was lovely. Not too many TVs in the dining room. There were just enough in the bar just for the sports enthusiasts. Most of all, and I feel very important was that the staff greeted us at the door as soon as we opened the door. They acknowledged us as their guests. Food was just ok. We had the Caesar salad and sautéed mushrooms to start and it was good. We had the spicy Italian pizza and it was not good. It resembled a store bought frozen pizza. He ordered the linguine carbonara. The sauce was separated with oil on the bottom of the bowl, dry and clumpy. But the bar side looked like it would be a lot of fun. The drink Italiano was good. Nice atmosphere, clean lines. Started with goat cheese honey dip as reviews said it was good. $12 you get a TINY little dish of dip and 5 small hard toasts. The dip was very sweet, tasted like sweet yoghurt. 2 out of 5 both due to flavor and poor value for that much money. When ordering, I had asked if with the entrees like the chicken dishes could a side of pasta substitute for the potatoes and broccolini, as pasta is a common side dish in good Italian restaurants. The server had to look it up, she said $5 each ie $10 up charge if you wanted pasta as a side dish. Really? Friend thought chicken piccata was good. I had the fettucini with creamy rosa sauce and chicken... was surprised how good it was and huge portion, 5 out of 5. My wife had the Caesar salad which was huge, $14. What I found out from the server is you can order a side Caesar salad to any entree, a substantial side salad for only $3 - great value for the money. The other negative was that no bread is served with meals, and you can't even buy garlic bread, only what was called garlic cheesy bread, which was foccacia with cheese melted on it, not much garlic taste, served with marinara to dip. I'm sorry, again, besides sides of pasta with entrees, Italian restaurants should serve bread/rolls with meals to mop up the sauces, or at least make garlic bread. My pasta dish was the highlight, the Caesar was decent 4 out of 5. But the lack of bread with meals and the up charge to substitute pasta side takes off a point from overall score. Service was attentive, although with the dip, they forgot to bring small plates, and rather than setting a plate in front of each of us, they dumped the 3 plates stacked on the corner of the table for us to distribute. Overall score, 4 out of 5. I will go back to try their other pastas. read more

First of all I work in food service and have for a long time. We went in on a busy Friday night and were seated pretty quickly! This is usually the time when a new restaurant starts to show their cracks. Even though it was bustling busy and the table next to us was less than two feet away, I could still hear my partner talking so the ambiance was great. The bathroom was clean and well stocked. Table service was fine, but I could immediately tell the wait staff was very new which is expected in a new restaurant. The prices seemed much more family friendly than the other Italian restaurants in the area. We got our appetizer of the fried mozzarella in a fair amount of time, but then the wait kept going. When the table a foot away, who was seated after us, got their food first we exercised in patience. The waiter apologized for the wait and said it would be out shortly. As soon as the food was at our table we realized IMMEDIATELY why it was out late. My partner got the chicken champagne, and I got the fettuccine capriccioso. The roasted potatoes had been subbed for what I assume was instant mashed potatoes from a box. The table next to us also got the chicken champagne, so we know what it was supposed to look like. My food had also been sitting under a heat lamp and the sauce had congealed as it was likely done before his, and my chicken was much tougher than his and even a little burned. When we were done eating, great food otherwise, the waiter didn't even ask if we wanted to take the untouched potatoes home lol it felt like he knew what was up. Seemed like there was a great miscommunication between front of house and back of house but the fact that we weren't communicated with, and served box mashed potatoes makes me feel lied to. Why are those even in the kitchen? I probably won't be going back here or at least for a very long time. If they had offered more veggies instead of potatoes, or SOMETHING instead of nothing that would have bumped up my opinion. I didn't even take pictures because it was so ugly. read more

Fabulous new Italian restaurant in Redlands. The interior uniquely combines an understated elegance with a fun sports bar atmosphere. Management is doing something very right . EVERY employee is polite, friendly and accommodating . Shout out to our server Carlos who was very knowledgeable and guided us through the various choices . Ultimately we selected the goat cheese and honey appetizer followed by 2 thin crust pizzas. Lots of restaurants burn the edges of a thin crust pizza but these were perfect. The cheese pizza was a little too salty for me but the rest of our party really enjoyed it. The spicy Italian was just spicy enough and very satisfying . I can see this new restaurant becoming very popular. Would be great if there were reservations or waitlist . Kudos on a job well done. read more

Used to be Romanos. Now remodeled, but menu is very similar. We went on a Tuesday night And we went early, maybe around 5:15. Things I loved...garlic cheese bread, Caesar salad, Fettuccine Capriccioso - food was very good! Things I liked...waitress was very sweet but it seemed like she kind of lost track of us as the evening progressed and they got busier. Prices were reasonable. Things that could be improved...my husband and I both ordered pasta. Usually, Italian restaurants offer fresh Parmesan. We finally asked if they had any and a server brought out a shaker with grated (not fresh) Parmesan in it. It's an Italian restaurant, serve some bread with the meal! Timing was poor. Ordered salad (my husband had soup). We had garlic bread. We weren't halfway thru this course when a server came out to tell us our entrees were ready. But the table (see more on this below) was so small there's no way they could bring them out, so server said "I'll just leave them under the warmer for a couple more minutes." So we felt rushed to finish the 1st course. Then , true to his word, he brought the entrees out "a couple minutes later". We weren't really finished with the soup/salad course but allowed him to take our half empty plates because there was no room On the table. Things that I really didn't like...when they remodeled, they put in these tiny little "booths" for lack of a better word. There literally was not enough space for salad dishes, bread plates and the bread serving. I would come back to this nice new restaurant BUT I would ask for a different table. Worst Italian sandwich I've ever had. The bread is horrible. The sandwich is dryer than Death Valley. The bread, I can't get over the bread. Just do a normal Italian sandwich bread. Finally tried this restaurant in Downtown Redlands (which my fiancé and I absolutely adore). Went there for an early NYE date night. Madri fires on all cylinders. Curb appeal, decor, lighting, and furniture..........the look is sophisticated and charming. Kudos to whoever did the interior design and layout. The bar is gorgeous, and the service is first-rate. The hostess was quite open and eager to seat us wherever we desired. Our waitress, Genece, was a doll with such grace and enthusiasm for providing great service. I made sure the tip reflected this impression. My lady chose the Chicken Champagne; and when I tell you she made a "face" after quickly tasting a mushroom and the sauce..........I knew immediately it was something extraordinary. It's virtually her favorite Chicken dish now (anywhere). My meatball sandwich disappeared without a trace, except pure satisfaction and a smile on my face. Collectively, we had an appetizer, two entrees, and 3 cocktails. Our bill was just shy of $100. That's how it ought to be. They're doing EVERYTHING RIGHT! A benchmark of fine dining, expert service, rich cuisine, and the capstone of it all.........affordability! You'd be hard-pressed to find a spot (in CA) with food/service, This GOOD, at a reasonable price point. Madri is an instant favorite of ours now. read more

Bar service is very slow. Our apps were served way before drinks arrived. Food is good. Personally, I don't care for dirty dishes being left on the table for the entire experience.
