I met a few of my friends here to use the golf simulator in the middle of the summer on a perfectly sunny day! They might have been understaffed for that reason but the service was somewhat slow but. There are 2 golf simulators that are pretty nice. The restaurant itself looked very spacious with many booths and tables available. The menu was pretty extensive and the food was ok. We were stuck on I-84 in CT during a snow storm for 7 hours. We went off the nearest exit and found this oasis. We were STARVING. Now the service was very slow BUT I think it might be due to the influx of unexpected people. The food was really good. I had a prime rib and D had a garbage burger. They really hit the spot. The thick rind on the prime rib was a bit odd but the steak itself was tender as could be. I'd give it the extra star if not for two things - the Chinese bamboo appetizer was the pits. I will say that. The may have overstepped their area with that. The price on the cupcakes at $3.99 each was also a stick in me. It's just obscene and out of place with the rest of their pricing, especially on dessert. We had two HUGE slices of cake, D carrot cake, and me a red velvet with chocolate ganache in between the layers. Both were very nicely priced and decadent. Ok, I have not been to one of these chains in quite a while so we stopped for lunch. We waited an hour to be served and all I ordered was a soup and sandwich. Even then the soup was bad, the sandwich was mediocre as best. We complained to the supervisor about the wait and all she said was she had to come in because they where short staffed and she could not finish her shopping. Really, do I care if the manager has to shop. We paid good money for what I could have gotten better at a diner. Yuck yuck yuck. I liked the look of it but will not be coming back again anytime soon. We had a 4th birthday party for my grandson tonight. We were most fortunate to have David for our server. Having been in the food service business for at least 40 years I have to say he was close to the best server I've ever had. We love this place but if you have an allergy the menu and the waitstaff aren't much help. Gluten free items are clearly marked but for other allergies, ie dairy, it is difficult to find out which items are safe. They do have great vegan cupcakes for dessert though. read more

In an otherwise boring looking strip mall is the surprisingly classy and fun Maggie McFly's restaurant. This place has been packed every night since they have opened. The menu is extensive, and the food is good, falling somewhere between Chili's and a much nicer restaurant. As a result the prices are a bit higher too. One of the nice features of this place is the deep round booths, making it feel like you've got your own private eating area. On some nights they have a band on a raised platform over the bar, which can be heard in the dining area but won't drown out your conversations. The desserts are unbelievably large and good, with a price tag to match (around $6 for a monstrous slice of carrot cake). I kind of wish they provided half slices because these are often way too much for one person to finish. I've gone back several times and had different dishes, and each one was good. OK. I know Maggie's gets a few low reviews, even one scathing writeup from a dear friend...but I'm giving it 5 stars to offset the bad. So no doubt, the menu is gigantic. (The selection rivals a casino buffet) And agreed, they can't be good at everything. But I REALLY like those street tacos (much better than that awful, awful Don Miguels down the street). And Maggies does make a good burger. The wife loves the lettuce wraps. The beer selection is good and is updated frequently. I'm warning the owners with peace and love, make sure the bartenders top off the beers properly. The last pint I ordered was all head. I was going to complain, but it was Friday and I was f-ing tired from working all week. On a more positive note, those Back East beer can glasses are super-fresh. I'm gonna have to make off with one next time we visit! By the by, I really like the oversized red booth seats. Plenty of room for your typical obese Americans to stretch out. The booths look like they came out of a Quentin Tarrantino movie or something. Also, the restaurant plays some pretty cool classic rock and alternative hits from yesteryear. I've been here about 4 or 5 times and every time I leave I say to myself "Never again!" However the last time I went there really WILL be the last time I go there. First of all the menu has about a million items on it. Every time I go there I order something different. Every single thing that I've ever gotten and the people I've gone with have gotten have either been too greasy, no taste to it, or just plain gross. It's like why bother going out to eat and spending at least $30 a person (that's without drinking) to feel like you have to literally curl up in a ball and puke your brains out. The last time I went there I went with my family and my boyfriend got a Reuben that was so gross looking I think he only took two bites. I got the special "Street Tacos" (yes, I know. Sounds gross but I like weird things). There was a variety of 3 little tacos. One was lobster, one was fried fish and the other was beef. The lobster and fish were really bad. No taste and the texture of both were rubbery and soooo soggy. But the worst was the beef. HUGE CHUNKS of steak that were so tough I couldn't even cut through it with a KNIFE let alone my teeth. But worst of all was the appetizer. Fried calamari. I am gagging just thinking out it. Lets just say that half of the pieces were super rubbery and the other half smelled and tasted like the squid had been sitting out for a week in the sun, next to a garbage dump and they decided to fry it up and serve it their customers. Not to mention that all their wait staff look like they're on drugs and at any point have no problem spitting in my food. DON'T GO THERE!!! read more

Went here for dinner with two friends and Maggie's is one of those places to go with people who are picky or who do not appreciate excellent food. There is a lot to choose from on the menu and something for everyone, however the food is nothing special. I used DoorDash to place my order - but this wasn't doordash's mistake. I placed an order, for my husband my kids and myself (7 months pregnant with twins) so we are limited to driving out which is why we like DoorDash. We just moved in today so all of our things are packed up - we called the restaurant to confirm our order with Joe once the DoorDash was placed just to make sure everything was correct on their end to which he confirmed yes. Wait 50 minutes for the food to arrive - I'll attached screenshots of our order and the receipt the bag had attached - no Texmex Rolls , no marinara sauce, ZERO utensils meaning you're left to slurp up the soup and pray your child doesn't spill it everywhere or burn himself. Cold pasta with the vodka sauce in a cup - nothing to mix it with or eat with. Fried mozzarella no Mariana sauce which is the only thing you can prob decently eat with your hands at this point. Call the restaurant , placed on hold for 4 minutes for a manager, speak to a "manager" Kelsey and forget about it - "you can't eat the food because you have no utensils" ... "the food is missing well I guess it was an error" ... "I'll leave the comp. card at the bar for you" .... zero apologies, didn't even bring up the receipt or the order had to ask for my name so she can call "DoorDash" which she hasn't - didn't care whatsoever said to take it up with DoorDash for the missing item refund. Please save yourself the headache - I see why this place got 3 stars. Not even worth it with that manager. Given a corporate number and a name Alyssa but she'll prob speak the same way Kelsey did. Good luck to them it really shows they like what they do, as if a comp card for the bar is going to get us to even go back, we clearly ordered delivery for a reason - so we didn't have to go THERE. I was tempted to get items that I have had at Cheesecake just so I could compare, but I am sure if they have it on the menu, they would be similar. I came here with a 7 person group for my grandmothers birthday. The food was good, but overpriced which was justified by HUGE portions which I always think is kind of B.S. I had my order come out wrong BUT I suppose this can be excused considering the waiter was still training...though I don't think they should put a trainee on a 7 person table. The staff was all really nice and game to surprise my grandmother with a birthday cupcake complete with candle. Pleasantly surprised with my overall experience. I came on a Wednesday night and the first thing I noticed was a 3 piece jazz band on stage. They were very smooth and provided a great background vibe. All seating is in booths which are decked out in shiny red leather. The hostess promptly seated me and suggested the Chicken Romano which was excellent. Very generous portion and reasonably priced although they charged $2.75 for a club soda. When you first enter this place, I highly suggest going through the mini golf entrance because that is the only way the staff will acknowledge you. I've gone in through what you believe is the front entrance but ended up in the bar area where the bartender (apparently) doesn't know what to do when customers come in. This place has HUGE menu very similar to The Cheesecake Factory if you've ever been there. Lots of different cocktails, appetizers and entrees to choose from here. Mostly American food is served here. Some salads, pasta entrees, chicken, fish, burgers and sandwiches. Prices here are a bit high ($14-20) per meal. I have only eaten the turkey dinner. Comes with mashed potatoes, stuffing (dry but decent), turkey and corn. Definitely could have used way more gravy to keep everything moist. The seating here are all booths. There is a little outside area to sit at but the door to it is an emergency door and the customers who arrive probably would be too afraid to open the door to come back to their table. Maybe they should fix that so customers can sit without worrying about setting off an alarm. I overall enjoy this place but my one complaint is the noise level. Music was fine but LOUD. And I barely got any sort of privacy when I was eating because the waitstaff were running around everywhere. I like to sit and talk to my dining partners, not looking up and seeing waitresses/waiters running around back and forth. read more

Wonderful but LOUD! Now perhaps for me it was because I am nearing 50 or maybe I had just spent too much quiet time this week but wanted to actually HEAR my companions but the 2 man band seamed really loud. Now instead of being just another customer addressing my personal decimal preference as a personal preference, I would like to offer up also a suggestion. While we three were dining I pointed out to my dinner companions that this two man band really had well over one hundred people as "potential" active participants on a Friday night instead of mere members of a20-40 or 40-70 year old audience. I pointed out that someone with a guitar and microphone could actually engage and "network" the entire crowd so they all met and mingled instead of simply singing "at" one age group or the other - actually alienating one or the other at any given moment. With a few open ended questions to one or two customers, subsequent introductions and then crowd participation songs would have created the perfect evening for everyone, excitement outside, community appeal and would have drawn curiosity from the diners at the booths so you could re-seat the dining room while packing the bar after happy hour. I must say though, our food and server made it an exceptional evening despite a loud bad and wanting to sing along but no one helping to make that happen..I was OVER satisfied with our food and our service. I expressed concerns and desires for my meal and everything was taken care of. One of the ways I was able to express everything I wanted was through a very accommodating server named Brian. He listened to every concern I had (even about the sulfates in my beer!) and made it a point to make our night one of the best I have had in New Milford. I would be remiss as a Connecticut neighbor if I didn't mention Brian's willingness to make every part of your meal amazing or the fact that their Lettuce Leaf Wrap that blew me away. I know that location is important and with this restaurant so convenient to shopping, I would hate for you to miss really accommodating service or mouthwatering pieces of chicken wrapped up in fresh greens etc. if you didn't have to. Take it for what it is worth to you but please know I want nothing but amazing service and to enjoy fantastic food always and asking for Brian will help make that happen for you. I love Maggie's. I appreciate the absolute binder of a menu. The drink selection is huge as well. I like when a restaurant has plenty of cocktail options on the menu, and their menu is certainly creative. There are so many dinner choices that it's easy to go and make everyone happy every time. I like that they use local sources for both food and drink (Litchfield bourbon!) and it would be cool if they were able to incorporate CT wineries on the menu. I think they already do have local beers. The molten lava cake is my favorite dessert, my friends and I have gone many tiles to Maggie's after a movie (or even after dinner somewhere else!) for drinks and dessert. I have been to this Maggie's a few times and most recently a few days ago for lunch. My wife had the chicken salad sandwich and I had the Cabernet Burger. The Cabernet burger has a onions and mushrooms cooked in a Cabernet wine on it (see pic). My burger was good, and cooked as I requested. The chicken salad sandwich had bits of apple and walnuts in it, and was served on an herbed buttered, and toasted bread, it was also very good. The service was very good and we were served in a timely manner. Over all we were very pleased so this time I am happy to bump Maggies up to four stars read more

Wow what a difference, I posted a great review of two visits to the restaurant. This time it was my wife's Birthday and I wish we went somewhere else. We ordered takeout, We got the Ahi tuna nacho appetizer, the Ahi Tuna meal and the seafood casserole and a side of french fries. When I got home we realized we were missing an item. My wife called back and mentioned it and said she didn't want to pick up the item because she just wanted to have her birthday dinner together, but the manager convinced her that it would be quick. My wife told he that I was 5 minutes away and was told the come right back. I went back the item wasn't ready when I arrived and after 25 minutes I called the Manager to ask about the food. She stormed out from the back went to the hostess desk and got the food and brought it to me saying they expected a woman to pick it up. I was not happy wasting time while my food sat cooling. I called the restaurant and asked for the owner and got the Manager Kerry again only to be told that I shouldn't be angry since it's only food. Clearly she shouldn't work in this environment since she doesn't realize it can be more than just food it can be, an anniversary, a birthday ( Sean M and Carla R. Will agree) a graduation. Lastly it seems that the staff that cooks on the weekends doesn't work during the week. My tuna was over cooked and the brussel sprouts were burned or charred. read more

We recently had a 30th birthday party in the virtual golf simulator. There were about 45 people and the service was amazing. The food was great and we were well taken care of the entire night. It made the party so much more enjoyable and memorable. The manager and two servers were amazing and made sure everyone had enough food and drinks at all times. It was such a great night and we got so many compliments from our guests on what a great party it was! My boyfriend and I just moved to the area from Stamford and had been quite disappointed with the selection of restaurants and bars thus far. Our outlook on the area has changed since we wandered into Maggie McFly's yesterday after an afternoon outing at nearby Golf Quest. I was surprised by the menu - perhaps a little too large and diverse, might need to be simplified a bit with so many choices it's hard to determine the restaurant's identity. We were equally as surprised by the quality of the food and beverages. The music was on point, not focused on a niche and enough variety to please almost everyone. I ordered a Margarita Del Rey which was strong and tasty and we started off with an bland order of cheese fries. For an entree, I ordered the blackened chicken sandwich with regular french fries and a side of steamed asparagus, while my boyfriend ordered a chicken and cheese quesadilla. The blackened chicken sandwich took the cake by far - very nicely spiced and seasoned. The fries were also noteworthy - crispy and delicious. By far the best casual restaurant we've gone to so far; most others in the area were creepy and gross. We will definitely be back! read more

I met an employee named Cara F last week. I told her my previous concerns about the restaurant and she convinced me to try Maggie's again. I owe a thank you to her because it was so delicious and oh, how things have changed. The food was so fresh and the menu had some great new options especially with their gluten free options. I had the BBQ chicken salad. It was fresh lettuce piled high with chicken and all the sides, including avocados and fried onion strings! I have to admit the bbq aside was the best part; It was the perfect mix of sweet and tangy. Their drink menu was far better than I remember. I went during the early afternoon so I missed the happy hour, but reading over the menu, it had some awesome specials with apps and their awesome drinks. We've been going to Maggie for years but recently it seems like service is slipping. We had a reservation for a group with my handicapped mother in law and we had to wait 20 minutes. Then it took awhile to give our orders and get our drinks. Waiting for food took longer than it should. It just seems like Maggie's doing well so maybe it's time for an upgrade or new management before people stop coming back. Ps the soda drinks are flat Pss my meat was way undercooked. Maggie's exists in a void of restaurants. Suffice it to say no one is coming to Brookfield for the regional culinary offerings. Maggie's does a very consistent and almost always perfectly cooked burger. The bar menu offers a wide selection of smaller plates ranging from $4-6, and they are all surprisingly good. The motivation for the current review and the rationale behind the 3 stars is the drink prices. $12 for an average sized margarita is simply not in line with what the market demands, especially considering this is not a tequila bar offering a variety of choices. Likewise, $9 for a 12oz pour of a common IPA is steep as well. Management may want to consider undertaking some market analysis to better determine an appropriate price for drinks in a relatively rural area. read more

We strolled up to the side entrance by the bar, a sign informed us that we should use the main entrance so we don't let the cold air into the bar. Walking is hard so we said "f it" and burst into the bar, frigid cold trailing in our wake. We were the Arctic breeze. The menu is as thick as a Hemingway novel and about as interesting. I settled on fish n chips. My gf got the Cobb salad. Little known fact Ty Cobb, baseball player extraordinary and world-class racist, invented the Cobb salad while sliding into third base with a head of romaine lettuce stuffed down his pants. The food was good, and served quickly. Our server, the bartender, had a funny hair bun. She ended up eating dinner while we finished our food. It was weird walking past her as we left the bar. Should we say something to her? She's technically on break so I decided to let her enjoy her meal as I pondered her hair bun. I would go back there again mostly to blast the patrons with cold air from the side door. My god it's a hoot. read more
