I dined here on a Tuesday evening with a group of four. The location was fantastic because it's directly across the street from two large hotels, where we stayed. Due to the pandemic, the inside was empty but the outside seating areas were busy. If you can't find anything to eat at this restaurant, you're not hungry. Almost every nationality of food is offered. There must be close to 200 hundred items on the menu, if not more. There was a long outdoor gas fireplace for those cool evenings. We began our meal with the honey BBQ chicken wings and two French onion soups. The wings were a big hit. Temperature hot and tasty. I was told the French onion soups were good as well. I had the Classic burger with Cheddar Cheese which came with French fries. The rest of the table ordered the Teriyaki Bowl, Ahi Tuna Sandwich, and the Garbage burger, which was the actual name. The burgers were fantastic. Big and juicy, cooked to order, and the roll held up well. The fries were seasoned nicely and the portion size was more than acceptable. I was told the Teriyaki Bowl and the Ahi Tuna Sandwich were good and I witnessed how huge the Teriyaki Bowl portion was. The service was good and friendly and the prices were very reasonable. Took an hour and a half for food. People were getting served before us despite coming in after us. One employee told us he'd bring the manager over...manager never came unless it was the random person that didn't introduce themselves and showed up right as we were gathering our things and boxing our food so we could leave. They just said, "well I hope you come back and hopefully next time it will be better." What the actual,,,,If I could I would rate 0. Terrible. Bill was $109. Guess it was $1 for every minute we waited. Really sucked it was our anniversary and we got to watch tables around us being served before us. This is definitely one of my favorite places to go out in Glastonbury. They have an amazingly large and tasty menu for both food and drink. They also have a lot of seating, including some fun spots outside, which overlook Glastonbury Blvd. The lobster taco and steak salad were both really delectable, and they did not skimp on the size. And, hec, the garlic breadsticks that come to each table were also quite yummy. I'm looking forward to more fun and tasty times here. read more

I've heard really mixed things about Maggie McFly's and it's somewhere I never actually went to while living in Connecticut. I was in the state last week and I ended up coming to Maggie McFly's to hang out with a friend and eat some food. The place itself has a massive parking lot, is very spacious inside, and has a pretty friendly staff from what I've experienced. The menu at Maggie McFly's a pretty overwhelming and is like 30 pages long (I wish I was exaggerating) usually when a place has a menu like this my expectations plummet since they don't seem to specialize on anything. To stay on the safe side I decided to order a pretzel burger because I'm a sucker for anything with a pretzel bun. The food didn't take too long to come out and soon enough I was biting into a pretty delicious burger. The food definitely exceeded my expectations and I really liked the burger and the fries that came with it. I definitely enjoyed my first trip to a Maggie McFly's and will probably end up coming back here on some future trips to Connecticut. My family went to McFly's for the first time on Sunday. The Decor was very good but the dinner was far from great. The Lobster Cob salad was not as advertised. In New England when you say lobaster it means Maine or at least cold water lobster from the North East. They advertised Lobster tails, claws etc in the salad ,...none of the above. I have been to both the Manchester location and this one a couple of times and always find something else I would like on the menu. This time it was the shrimp salad (droooool) while my fiance opted for the bacon cheeseburger. My family and I visited on Monday. The hostess didn't smile and barely paid attention to us. Our table was only partially set. The server was nice, but not too attentive after we received our meal. She asked how things were literally 1 minute after we received our meals. She didn't return for a long while afterwards. Our nachos were a little over cooked. My step mother had a unripe tomato and hard to eats bacon on her BLT. The bacon didn't tastes like real bacon. My father had a tostada salad which had an over cooked shell bowl and he barely ate half of it. My kid ordered the coconut shrimp with Asiago mashed potatoes. The potatoes were super bland with zero cheese flavor and the shrimp was over cooked and inedible. We received a replacement of chicken strips and those were dry as hell! The only good meal was mine, I had a Ruben sandwich. I recommend the manager, owner, whoever, scale down the large AF menu and fungus on a few really good signature dishes so ALL meals are good. read more

Our company had our pre-anniversary dinner with approx. 50 employees at Maggie McFly's. The manager Olivia was so nice, accommodating and made sure we were taken care of while we attended the dinner. My son and I came here early on a Friday afternoon in anticipation of a packed restaurant. We were promptly seated with only a few tables taken. We waited for about 15 minutes before we finally saw a server appear. In that time a few other tables were seated. Well, I would love to have given them a five star but I walked in sat at the bar where they were three other customers, the bar was dirty with dishes and plates from previous customers so I cleared me a spot and sat down after I found me a menu decided I was going to get some delicious food and the bartender continue to walk past me for the next 10 minutes without offering me a drink, appetizer or at least an opportunity to order anything. I'm not saying he ignored me but the guy never looked up to see that there was a customer sitting right in front of him for 10 minutes. So I would say the customer service is shitty at best and I can't tell you what I think about the food because I was never able to eat there. read more

This place has some great food! I had the fried chicken strips with the maple bbq sauce and the parmesan truffle fries, ahhhh! I also endulged in some fried mozzarella that was the size of my hand, freakin awesome! Arrived at 12:15pm and we were seated pretty quickly. At 12:20pm we put in our drink order with the server for 2 margarita flights and 1 sangria flight. 15 mins later, the server comes back to let us know that they only had enough glasses for just the sangria flight, but not the margaritas. This was just bizarre given that the dining area and the bar were not even full and it was still pretty early in the afternoon for them to not have glasses washed and ready to be served. So my husband and his friend ordered new drinks. Fast forward, 15 mins later, their drinks arrived, but not the sangria flight that was put in 30 mins ago. Then at 12:55pm, the server comes over to let us know that they were working on the sangria flight...30+ mins later they're still working on it?!?! Finally at 1:13pm, the sangria flight arrived 13 mins after the food came out and almost an hour since it was placed. Food was okay, but service was terrible. Beyond terrible. read more

Do NOT waste your time at this location. Go the one in Manchester. We figured we try this location because we've been pleased with the one in Manchester -big mistake. My husband, myself and our infant went on a Saturday, at 3:45pm, and were seated outside right away. The inside was empty. After 20 minutes of no a acknowledgment from any staff I went to the host stand to let them know we hadn't even been greeted by a waiter. It was another 5 minutes before anyone came to our table. We ordered 2 cocktails, an app and our entrees all at the same time. It took another 30 minutes before any of it came out. They never even brought us water... finally at 5:04 our food was brought to us, well, We literally watched them place our food at the wrong table and then walk around asking every table except for ours who's food it was. Finally, I was like "I think it's ours", and it was bad. We waited for 15 minutes after finishing our food for the waiter before I finally went to complain to the manager about how terrible the overall experience had been. We finally left at 5:23. I will never be back, we will stick to the one in Manchester! I can't believe a chain restaurant can be so inconsistent between locations. read more

We stayed locally at a Hotel for the weekend. The take out was amazing. We got Buffalo Chicken bites. The sauce was perfectly homemade buffalo sauce. You could taste how fresh this chicken was! It was paired up with epic homemade blue cheese dressing. Next we got the onion rings. These were delish with 2 amazing dipping sauces. We got the Mac n Cheese bites. These were beyond our wildest imaginations. On their own they were perfect. However that was NOT good enough for them. They were served in a sorta cheese marina sauce that blew our minds. The wife enjoyed a burger that was juicy, fresh and delicious. Even the bacon was perfectly crisp and covered with their special sauce. Finally we come to the apex of our take out experience. This dessert was one of the best things we have ever tasted. It was their homemade carrot cake. Now I know what your thinking.. Carrot cake? Seriously, this cake was layered with pecans and cream cheese topping that will curl your toes! This perhaps was the best take our experience we have ever had. We had a fairly large, boisterous group in for some food and drink. Our waitress was pretty patient with us and we ran her around pretty good. When we got our bill, it stated that groups of 8 would get a service charge (gratuity) added in. I perused our bill and did not see the service charge at the bottom by the total. I figured they forgot and started figuring out the bill and added in the gratuity. Another of our group who had a separate check noticed their "service charge" hidden in the middle of their bill amongst the food and drink. Upon looking at our bill, I noticed they did the same to us. I complained to management but I wonder if this is standard practice. It would have given her an extra $85! $170 tip on $538 bill. I don't love this restaurant because nothing on the menu sticks out as amazing to me. There's nothing I've ever eaten here that I ever crave. They have a huge menu and so many different vegan/vegetarian options but everything is just alright. The portions are very big, I would compare it to the Cheesecake Factory. We had to wait 20 minutes for a drink, then once we were seated, took another 20 minutes for a server to come over, AFTER we asked someone who our server was. Typically there is a line out the door and the food is great! The salads and sandwiches are always perfect. How I will not be returning anytime soon. Waited over 10 minutes at the front when IT WAS NOT BUSY. The poor gentleman next to my friends and I had been waiting about 40 minutes. Absolutely unprofessional... would recommend better staff. Or at the least, have staff that pay attention when there's people at the front instead of talking amongst each other. UPDATE: I have since been back to Maggie's more than once and it has been a lot better of an experience. The employees are more attentive and the food comes fast. First off - who approved the menu design? It was the stupidest thing I have ever seen. All the pages were falling out and it was hard to use. I gave up and pulled up the menu on my phone. The food was hit and miss. The calamari was way over cooked and was really very close to tasteless battered rubber bands. Others in the party were okay with what they had, but not impressed. A friend of mine was in from out of town and this was the 1st place I thought to go to. They start you out with bread sticks which to my surprise were stale and hard. Calamari was ordered for an appetizer. Sad to say it was a bit overcooked. My favorite sandwich is a Cuban Sandwich and that was very tasty and fresh. We went here New Years Eve around 7:00 pm. There was 3 of us having a round of drinks and dinner. I'm a waitress myself at a restaurant so I'm always the last to complain. But this needs to be addressed. The service was slow (there was 8 tables and at least 3 waiters). The food came out luke-warm/cold. We were too hungry to send it back and wait longer for it to be remade. We bit our lips and ate our food. The server, while he was polite, never came back to ask us how the food was or if we needed anything until we were finished and ready for the check. Had a great time at Maggie McFlys! I had been to the one in Manchester and holy cow the parking here was crazy! Hard to navigate but that can only mean this place is popular. Our group accidentally doubled in size at the bar and the service was prompt and swift at getting us a bigger table, no problem. The real MVP for valuing service! Lots of things on the menu to try and wish we could've had them all! We had a larger group and did two Maggie's Favorites appetizer platters served on a tiered tray. Tonight was a terrible experience at Maggie MCFly's in Glastonbury CT. Ordinarily we enjoy this place but tonight something that is completely unacceptable occurred! My wife and I both ordered the Beef brisket barbecue. After 25 minutes someone new appeared and told us we both could not have the entree and there was only enough for one meal. My wife quickly claimed the singke brisket for herself and that was of coarse fine! The real icing on the cake was that an additional 15 minutes later now a manager came on over to tell us that they now ran out of the sides and no one could have the dinne. My wife wanted to immediately leave but we were here and were hungry! Now you know the right thing to do! The management should have at least offered one complementary meal or at least something. They manager apologized and offered a free drink! WOW! What actually made me take the time to write this is that when my wife simply stated that she thought the manager was taking this awful experience lightly the manager got a little loud and was obviously a novice in this field of management and overall customer service! Little did this manager know she was dealing with customer service pros and a writer for a food page online!
