My coworkers and I are big fans of the breakfast sandwiches here, specifically #1: fried egg, bacon, ham, and cheese on English muffin. If you just get the sandwich, its $2.50! Where else can you get a legitimate sandwich for that price? We always ask for [free] jalapenos on the side. Also legit is the turkey sandwich on croissant. They're pretty slow to make your food, so make sure you have time to hang around for 10 or 15 minutes when you drop by. We often will call our orders in and stroll in half an hour later for pick up. We don't mind it much. The ladies are doing their best! Not the cleanest establishment, but honey, you're in Westlake. Also love that their uniform includes a baby pink base ball cap with "Los Angeles" writtein in cursive. I don't get it, but it's ok. read more

This place has been here for as long as I can remember, I'm 25 years old so from time to time when I visit my parents it's always nice coming back to something that I've seen and had growing up. Even now, their donuts/sandwiches, coffees, and customer service never cease to disappoint. They offer from variety of donuts from individual, half dozen and donzen. And now they have boba, which is a huge plus, granted is a donut shop so don't think it's gonna be like Boba Time or stuff like that. But I hugely recommend anyone coming to visit around K-Town/Westlake to try this relic. read more

I absolutely love Maggie's donuts, the breakfast option taste amazing! My favorite is the egg, sausage, cheese and ham, I love jalapeños added with it to add to the taste. This here's a great little spot that I found out about 9 years ago while I was in middle school. I remember buying a breakfast sandwich then eating it while heading towards school, and let me tell you their sandwiches are still as good as I remember them. I have been coming here for quite some time now and this establishment never fails to start my mornings off right. Located in a small plaza parking is really scarce. So if you come in the morning just be prepared. When you walk you are welcomed with clusters of people and a smiling staff a mother and daughter duo. Very attentive and kind. First thing you notice is the assortment of coffee and the breakfast sandwich menu. I love the breakfast sandwiches they are made fresh and the portion is awesome. Went here because LA weekly named it one of the 10 best donut places in Los Angeles. We tried the custard filled donut which looked delicious with custard oozing out of its crevices. However, my first bite was filled with nothing but disappointment. The custard itself just didn't taste good and the donut was not fresh. My 4-stars isn't for the donuts, but for the pistachio shake. I ordered it thanks to some fellow yelpers (and I'm sure glad I did!) I'm not the biggest pistachio ice cream fan, but this shake was thick, creamy, and had bits of pistachio in it. It was perfect on a hot summer day. A week later, my fiance wanted to compare their shake to a well known ice cream chain and theirs did not compare at all (it was much too liquidy). Although it's a bit out of the way just to get a shake, it's definitely worth it! read more

This place is dingy and dirty. I've had the donuts and they are just mediocre. I mean it's hard to screw up a donut, so they don't get any points for having an okay quality donut. Once, I ordered a coffee, paid for it, and stepped outside the store for a moment to answer my phone. When I came back to get a donut, the man tried to charge me again for the coffee by giving me the change for donuts and a coffee purchase. When I told him I had already paid for it and to go ask the lady in the back, he became very hostile. He didn't want to give me money back. He finally yielded, but he was very rude and not helpful. I was very angry, and told him I wouldn't be back. I definitely won't be. But I do feel better now that I could write a review on Yelp. I'm a huge fan of making sure customers are happy. Maggie's saves my life a few times a month. It's walking distance from my work, they have awesome breakfast and lunch, and the prices are super affordable. The two ladies who work behind the counter (family owned) are sweet and deal with a constant flow of customers. Some may say it's really nothing special, but I keep coming back for the ham, egg, bacon & cheese English muffin (#1) with a hash brown and jalapeños (breakfast or lunch) and/or the tuna sandwich with sprouts for lunch. I remember this place. I use to live 5 blocks away from this place when I was growing up. I would always get a dollar to buy a donut and a play an Arcade game and a donut for being such a good boy... or maybe because my mom because my mom just wanted me out of the house for a while. Who know, point is that I ate a donut. The prices and portions for their food and donuts are very reasonable. Just try not to go very late at night cause it is not the safest neighborhood around there. Just be aware that local drunks sometimes do stand there and just drink as you try to purchase. Who want's Donut Holes? I DO ! I DO! Wow, who would have thought in the middle of the most unsafe part of LA had such good donut holes for cheap! Right next to work, this is a frequent stop for breaks and to get one of the following: Donut holes, croissant sandwiches, soft ice cream, and super thick milkshakes. I am a big fan of their croissant sandwiches. They get their pastries made fresh every morning and puts a smile on my face. These suckers are filling and huge, I would either go for one of the breakfast beasts in the morning or a toss up between the blt and the tuna during lunch. It may be in an area where there are some scrupulous looking characters (that and the slow service brings it down a few stars), but if you find yourself in this part of town and hungry with not much cash and there is still daylight on the streets, order something from Maggie's. read more

maggie's donuts is a place you patronize because you feel ABSOLUTELY desperate. desperate for coffee, desperate for donuts, or desperate for a sandwich. as you should know, anything involving the word desperate usually ain't a good thing. i come here when i can't find coffee ANYWHERE or can't drive too far due to time constraints. it is the last, absolute last place on earth for me to get my cup of joe because their coffee tastes like crap. i don't willingly drink this shizz because it's like bad instant coffee dripped into a dirty cup. their sweet pastries suck too. the donuts are dry and stale and their fruit filled pastries have a pathetic scoop of preserved berries in the middle. and a tiny scoop at that. so why not give it one star you might wonder after all this bitching? because when you are desperate, you'll take just about anything. so plus one star for always being open when there is no other place to go. read more

Tried Maggie's Donuts after oral surgery when I needed something soft and mushy for dinner. Got a parking space in the small lot of the minimall. Ordered a chocolate milkshake, and as a previous reviewer noted, they fill the mixing container with loads of ice cream and blend it. It was a great shake! My boyfriend was happy that they use actual chocolate ice cream, not vanilla with chocolate syrup. He also had a tuna on whole wheat. The tuna salad felt very fresh and nutritious. There was celery and red onions in it. There were thick slices of cucumber, tomato, and a piece of fresh lettuce on the sandwich. We were impressed by the quality and relatively inexpensive price of the food. They have a variety of sandwiches, boba, smoothies, and shakes as well as donuts. There was only one woman working and it got a bit busy but she was working hard to keep up. read more

My roommate goes here every morning for coffee, his idea of coffee is cappuccino flavored hot milk that comes out of a machine. They do have real coffee here about 20 different flavors but when they're all brewed the same way with the same machine they're is little difference. They're doughnuts are stale, because they make too many & the turn around time is too long. And they serve regular food, but seem so unhappy to make it, they probably spit in it drop food on the ground and serve it anyway. The only good thing about this place is that they're open 24 hrs, they're right across the street from me and they sell cigarettes. read more

I live across the street from Maggies and that's a good thing. It's open 24 hours. They have great donuts that are better than the big chains for the most part. The sandwiches are pretty decent and taste much better than the picture would have you believe. I especially recommend the breakfast sandwiches which several good ones are under three bucks. It can get a bit crowded at times but usually not too long of a wait considering the small staff they seem to have. Definitely try it. I eat there all the time. read more
