A very good option for Southern food. If you order friend chicken, they make it fresh and yell out if anyone else wants some! Gotta love fried chicken made to order, and accompanied by delicious sides. We got the potato salad and the collard greens and both were good. It's a friendly, clean atmosphere with great staff. And the friend chicken is worth having to find parking. I recommend.

Amazing simple as that! I was driving through and I stopped at the Exxon gas station down the street and asked the attendant a great place to go for soul food, and he said that is the only place! The street is busy and it's on the corner easy to see! When you go in it's quaint and reminds you of a southern classic soul food restaurant The staff is very nice and guided me through the menu and from the photos you see it's on the next level of great! Amazing job team! Love it AA 5 stars! And paired well with Amour Geneve! Thank you Coviello Salinès Amour Geneve

Stellar food every time. They catered our last few parties and the food is always a hit. Affordable home cookin that they really put their foot in (that's the saying right?!) Baked chicken, smothers pork chops, turkey, meatloaf, collard greens, green beans, sweet potato, fried chicken... all taste so good, I may go get some Maggie's for lunch right now. BRB.

Stopped to Maggie's on Sunday afternoon. Located on the corner of Teaneck Rd, it's easy to find and there is street parking. Atmosphere: there is gospel music playing and a few tables and a counter area to eat. Now to the service and the food. Attitude!!! Definitely not friendly and we even added a tip at checkout. We ordered 2 meals and dined in. Meatloaf dinner with macaroni and cheese and collard greens, and a fried fish dinner with same sides. The meatloaf was a hunk of meat mixture with a runny liquid on top that tasted like ketchup. The collard greens were just ok, no seasoning and the macaroni was bland but salty, minimal cheese and was pale in color. The fried fish was cooked to order, the portion was decent and tasted good. Dinners come with cornbread. There are canned sodas and water available. Restroom wasn't clean, there was soap but no paper towels.

I ordered delivery and got the fried fish with mac, greens, and yams. Let me tell you, everything was seasoned perfectly! I am a long time Teaneck native that's since moved to a neighboring town. But best believe I will keep Maggie's as my go to soul food fix!

Okay I'm no expert on southern cooking but I just love comfort food and this place delivered. My colleague recommended it as he has been coming for years. We were able to find some tables to sit at. Yes, the decor is nothing to go on about - it looks almost like a Chinese take out joint. However, the staff was super friendly as I decided on my order. Also, the prices are really decent!! I got the fried chicken (which was juicy and had crispy skin still on it -- and it was hot), mac & cheese (pretty good), and collard greens (AMAZING). My colleague had the BBQ ribs (really good), collard greens (again, AMAZING), and yams (OUT OF THIS WORLD). My lunch special was about $7. He got the dinner portion for about $10. Also, they have amazing specials like pigs feet and ox tail, which I have to come back and try. OH and every meal comes with corn bread, which was delicious. I was so full after my lunch portion. I had one bite of my cornbread and packed it into my purse for a late afternoon snack!

Fish and chips are great. Desserts are awesome. Always friendly staff. I had to wait for my food for a long time once, but it was worth it.

Maggie's has some great food. I went there yesterday for a meatloaf sandwich. It was off the hook good.

Stopped by for late Sunday lunch with wife and the place was POPPIN'!…read more I. ATMOSPHERE (5/5) This place had night club vibes on a broad daylight, and I'm not complaining. It had this loungey vibe with gold and dark blue tones and selective dimming that gave an upscale yet inviting and friendly vibe. Nice large bar with screens of sports and news for patrons and good music. I'm for it. II. FOOD (5/5) Yo this place ain't joking. Hard to find fresh veggies, but they had some. Peach and Strawberry Sweet Tea were great, though definitely sweet. Peach was slightly more refreshing for what was to come. Cornbread (APP, $9, 5/5) - Some of the best cornbread all around. Big but moist with decent crumbling, and so good with homemade strawberry jam. Cornerstone of the meal here. It's BIG so you can definitely share. Somehow it was even better the next day(?!) Sweet T's Fried Shrimp (APP, $19, 5/5) - Perfectly breaded and fried golden brown without being too heavy, this one was surprisingly delicious with the dips. Very good reco from our server. Fresh Baby Kale, Pear, and Goat Cheese Salad (APP, $14, 4/5) - Very much needed some sprinkling of greens. Pretty good though portion could be a bit larger. Catfish Nuggets (APP, $16, 3/5) - This one we didn't care too much for. Bit salty, one-dimensional. Stone Ground Cheddar Cheese Grits (APP, $10, 5/5) - ROCKET SHIP! This was literally the BEST GRITS I've ever eaten, and I've eaten enough to fill a bath tub! Wow! It had the perfect level of buttery, robust deep cheddar flavor with bits of crispy bites within, creamy smooth texture, right level of seasoning, and crazy level of addictiveness. I found myself rationing it with every other item on the table. WHAT?! I could write an essay on this one but it is ridiculously good I would come back again and again just to eat this. Grits done well, y'all. Grits done well living his best life, right here. Just writing about it makes me drool. III. SERVICE (5/5) I forgot about service because I was writing about 'em grits but our server lady was pleasant, made great recos, and took our money. So she was good! The place just oozes with neighborly homey charm, and there were repeat diners telling us this here is what's up, so a great sign. I really enjoyed Sweet T's a lot more than I thought I would. Its great southern food, special vibe and attentive service all combine to be a winning neighborly combination here in Teaneck. Show them some love and eat 'em grits. You won't regret it.

After I tasted my meal I realized it definitely didn't need gravy. The grits were creamy and the fish was golden and crispy. My sister had the yams, mac and cheese and fish. Everything was delish. Service was amazing and the owner is always pleasant. The aesthetic is very chic and classy so it's a nice place to do date night. The cost is comparable to similar restaurants.

I ordered baked chicken, but there were still feathers on the wings. The potato salad tasted fishy because of cross-contamination--probably because they used the fish spoon to serve it. This could be a health hazard for guests with fish allergies. The greens were too salty, and I found a piece of foil in the coconut cake's frosting. Never again will I order from them, and they have to do better with their attitude and how they greet their guests.

Went back inside after 40mins and was told now they ran out of mac and cheese and it will take 30mins to make another pan. I informed the female employee that we just waited 40mins for Yams and now you want us to wait another 30mins for mac and cheese!? She did not apologize for the wait, she just stared at me and then asked if anyone is ordering anything fried as it will take 25 mins. Obviously we left. I haven't eaten at Maggies in over 5 years and was excited to order but now I will definitely not return. There are other soul food restaurants in the area who have better customer service and do not run out of food.

We went for Friday Happy Hour (3 - 6pm) for the first time. The Bartender (Carolina) was attentive and lively and made a great Manhattan! We tried several food items (see pictures) and each one was delightful - tasty and nicely presented. We met some great people and the GM also greeted us as we left (dressed impeccably & very professional) If you're looking for a wonderful Happy Hour... this one is great! Will return!

Accolades end there... We ordered drinks and appetizers and waited. We received 2 drinks, waited forever for the next 2, and the oysters (Bluepoint) came simultaneously. We continued to wait for the wings - garlic/parmesan wings. We placed our food order - still waiting for the wings. Time passed, literally 1 hour - we timed it by the parking meter -before the wings came, midway through the entrees. The manager apologized and said he would remove it from the bill; the wings were partially cooked and showed up on the bill! He removed it, and we waited again for at least 10 more minutes for the new bill and the takeout box I'd asked for. The oysters were ok. There was a lot of the confit lemon aioli on the lump crab sliders, but it wasn't that flavorful. The fries would've been the best part of the meal, but they were extremely greasy (photos uploaded). If you're only looking for good drinks and a cool spot to watch sports, go here, but the food and service left much to be desired.
