This has become our go-to poke spot everytime we're in Waikiki. All their poke is sooo fresh. The sauces are the perfect complement too and doesn't overpower the fresh fish. We usually like to get a few poke bowls then add on a couple poke only bowls to share. The marlin and blue fin tuna are out of this world.

Yummmmm I wish I had known about Maguro Spot from day one. This was my favorite poke of the trip. Something's that's important to note is I am a bit of a purist when it comes to my fish and I don't want it to be drenched in sauce (which absolutely is also delicious and there are plenty of places where you can find that!) Maguro Spot doesn't pre marinate the fish so everything is extra fresh, you can tell. We did two build your own bowls and they gave us great suggestions. Unfortunately they were out of marlin, but the tuna and salmon were delicious. There will probably be a line when you get but it goes by super quickly. I also loved that they have sizes for the poke bowls (small, medium, large, XL).

Great takeaway for lunch on da beach. Takeaway preorder is only through Instagram, which I have not done before but worked fine. Prepared quickly and at committed time during crowded holiday. Poke tuna bowl with fresh ahi was fresh and "sushi rice" was on point. I had mine with cucumbers, onions, edamame, and seaweed. Delicious and refreshing with a crisp ice cold Sapporo under our shade tent :) Location is about three blocks off the beach. Ambiance is walk through counter style with picnic tables outside and lots of people as it is good. Mahalo

Shared an XL bowl with sushi rice, tuna, salmon, blue marlin, and spicy mayo + rainbow sauces. Sushi rice had good flavor and texture. The fish chunks were generous but I should've gotten one sauce instead of two sauces because I felt like it was a little too saucy to where it masked the fish flavor. Overall a decent spot for poke if in the area.

Line out the door but moves fairly quickly. Bowls are made fresh and the tuna tastes great! My husband definitely went back for a second bowl to have later! I would recommend a visit if you are in the area. It was so good I forgot to take a picture before it was gone.

Pretty fresh selection of fish. They have different sauces and toppings for your bowl too Small store in the strip Good and fast service Just found a little small in the fish portion compared to other spots.

This well-known poke shop in the heart of Waikiki always has a long line out the door. Be prepared to wait about 30min. In return, you will be rewarded with some super ono poke. Not the best flavor on island IMO, but very fresh. I like that they mix the sauce fresh in front of you. They claim this really lets the fish itself shine and I agree. But I personally prefer the deeper flavors in other places I've been. Perhaps asking for extra sauce might make a difference? Not sure... I got the spicy shoyu with ahi and avocado ($2.50 extra). I asked for sushi rice, but got plain white rice instead. Not a big deal, but I wasn't impressed with their rice, which seemed hard and undercooked to me. Overall, it's a good pick if you're looking for a casual spot in Waikiki and don't mind a little wait. No parking, but plenty of good outdoor table seating.

I always see line here when I passed by and wanted to give it a try. I just ordered classic tuna poke with salad base. The portion could be better. The fish was fresh and setting was casual. They gave outdoor bench and I could enjoy my food.

Still the number 1 poke place in the world. This time I added the blue marlin. What an absolute must to the poke bowl. Do not let the line fool you thinking it's a long wait. It goes a lot quicker than you think and it's worth every minute in line. Hands down the best!!!

The line is constantly out the door for a reason. While the locally caught blue marlin lacked a bit of standalone flavor, the incredible sauce pairings and top-tier tuna make this a must-visit for a quick, fresh poke fix. Large Poke Bowl with Hawaiian and Creamy Sesame Sauce and Large Poke Bowl with Spicy Mayo (4/5): The tuna was the absolute standout and tasted incredibly fresh, pairing beautifully with the mix of Hawaiian and Creamy Sesame sauces that soaked perfectly into the rice. While the spicy mayo bowl offered a solid, comforting option with a great kick, the locally caught blue marlin didn't carry much flavor on its own and relied heavily on the sauce. The shrimp was a great addition for variety. Logistics Tip: Don't let the line intimidate you, as it moves incredibly fast and your food is ready in minutes. Just keep in mind that seating is limited to a few outdoor spots, so you may need to take it to go. Note that toppings are priced a la carte unless you go with one of their prebuilt signature bowls.

This was the first and last spot I visited on my vacation, and I honestly can't express how good this place is. You just have to try it for yourself. I'll definitely keep coming back anytime I'm here. I got the Signature Shoyu Bowl with no shrimp, extra tuna, spicy mayo on the side, and extra sea asparagus. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. The sea grapes weren't my favorite personally, but I'm still glad I tried them.

Wait, this place was a highlight of my trip. As soon as we landed and checked into our Airbnb, we stopped by Maguro, and the line was basically non-existent. We made the mistake of ordering online via the QR code in front of the store because we thought it would be easier, but the worker told us it is much faster to order at the cashier since there is a 15-minute hold for online orders before they start making them. Originally, I had ordered something else online, only to realize they had the Teriyaki Salmon bowl in person but not online. The staff member kindly helped me change my order, which I really appreciated. And thank goodness I changed my order because the Teriyaki Salmon bowl was so good. The meat-to-rice ratio was perfect, and it was not too saucy. It was the perfect welcome meal and lunch I needed. Since we were a large group of nine, my other party members ordered different items, and their reviews slightly differed from mine, as they felt the rice-to-protein ratio was a bit unbalanced, with too much rice, but overall still good. There is limited outdoor seating if you are lucky enough to grab a table, and the shop itself is small.

Our hotel happened to be next to this popular spot, so we were super excited to try it out. We stopped by for an early lunch and the line was really short. When we came back around 1 PM, the line had wrapped around the corner, so definitely recommend going during an off hour. We got an extra large spicy spicy special bowl to share. Generous amount of fish with nice cuts. The sauce was delicious and the seaweed salad, onion, cucumber, and edamame paired perfectly. Excellent poke; I would definitely come again! Total came out to $23.50 plus tax/tip.

Had to really zoom in. A thin layer of poke.

TL;DR Fantastic…read morepoke. Manoa represent!!! ----- Off the Hook Poke lives up to the hype. There's a constant line out the door filled with locals and tourists alike. And for good reason. Off the Hook delivers consistent, high-quality poke bowls (trays?) in the heart of beautiful Manoa Valley. I've been coming to Off the Hook since it opened way back in 2018. While the prices have steadily increased, the delicious poke has remained the same. For poke bowls, you have several options to consider: 1) Mini or regular size 2) Rice option (white, brown, sushi, or green salad) 3) One or two choices of poke At this point I've tried almost every one of their poke offerings, and they are all fantastic. You cannot go wrong with whatever you choose. However, I'd say 95% of the time I stick with the Cold Ginger Ahi and the Spicy Ahi. These are guaranteed hits. I also really like the Wasabi Furikake Ahi. Lastly, makes sure you load up on their free toppings! Masago, tempura flakes, and scallions. Yummmy!

Off the Hook advertises auction-fresh ahi, which distinguishes it from other poke joints that use previously frozen fish. Since I was a first-timer, I opted for a sampler: 1/4 # of each of the following: Shoyu Poke, Kilauea Fire, and the signature Cold Ginger Ahi, which my friends have been raving about. All three were good and seasoned perfectly: just the right amount of sauce. My favorite, hands-down, was the Cold Ginger ahi, which pays homage to the Cantonese ginger-scallion sauce served over chicken, and not oily: wonderfully fresh grated ginger in this! Shoyu was also on point: nice sweet umami sauce. Was actually expecting much more spice in the Kilauea Fire, which had a mild chili flavor. Miso gave it depth and richness, making the sauce gochujang-like in flavor. Arguably, the only downside would be the price point: 1LB= $33.99 1/2LB= $16.99 1/4LB= $8.49: expensive, but excellent-quality product, and definitely fresh, with melt-in-the-mouth fish.

Although I love their bowls, I would absolutely recommend getting their pound of poke deal. You can divvy up the weight of poke any way you want, so usually my husband and I get a quarter of a different flavor poke and just make our rice at home--the only downside to doing this is that you don't get the fun toppings (furikake and crunchy mochi). Also, just a disclaimer, their space is extremely small with limited bar-type seating, so plan to take your bowl/food to go if you want to be comfortable. The only reason why I'm docking 1 star is because unfortunately, some of their toppings are a little too expensive to add on for the amount that you get.
