We had lunch here on $2 Taco Tuesday. I had mahi mahi, crispy wahoo, and grilled shrimp tacos on corn tortillas. The food came reasonably quick and warm. The taste was okay, but nothing to get me excited. The fish/shrimp was fine, but the overall flavor profile was pretty bland. I'd go back with the lunch crowd again, but I'd try something else. Price: $2 for a fish taco is good. Normal pricing looked reasonable for portion sizes. Note that $2 taco Tuesday is going to change to $2 or $3 Taco Tuesday soon. Location: Not much parking. MFG, take notice. I've patronized this place a number of times. I think the food quality is fair to good. I think some of the fish and sides are a bit greasy and could use a lighter touch. Tonight, I ordered the kale salad with quinoa, and ordered grilled shrimp as an addition. Quite a few problems. 1) Way too much kale, and not enough quinoa. Like, I think there was one Tbsp of quinoa. It should be more like half and half. 2) Shrimp still had the tails on. Eew. Who wants a salad with shrimp where you have to pull the tails off?? Take off the SHELLS!!! 3) I found not ONE but TWO HAIRS in my salad. Gross. Both long, brown, wavy hairs. Do your kitchen workers not wear hairnets??? PLEASE fix this! UNSANITARY. I've always thought this place was a great alternative to a fast food place (which I hate) when you need a quick healthy meal. They need to step it up. read more

My family's a fan of Malibu Fish Grill, specifically this location. My sister introduced my hubby and I to this chain and this has been our to go place for a healthy, affordable lunch after a good jog at Redondo Beach. We love their salads with a choice of protein (you can't go wrong with Salmon), also love the Surf and Turf, the Calamari and Ahi Poke. The staff are friendly and attentive. My sister suggested for them to switch to olive oil vs butter on their side veggies (because serving it with butter defeated the purpose of eating healthy), the staff listened and made the change. They can get really busy so, to save on the wait time, call in your order for pick up even if you're eating in. read more

This place is fresh and affordable, the fish dishes are great and their chicken sand is yummy. They are conveniently located and I always find parking. Revision: last year they changed the bread on the chicken sandwich, we literally don't go anymore & I had to bump this down to a 4 star because the fish plates are good although we won't be going anymore due to the new bread on chicken sandwich. read more

Love the food but this place raises prices faster than any restaurant I've ever seen! They have "Throwback Thursday " supposedly for all of 2015 and the just raised those prices mid year. read more

Great food, great portions for the money! Great take out place and fast. Spinach and Feta Cheese salad with steak was awesome! Poke was really good and so were the fish tacos. Well the name isn't the only thing that seems to have changed. Some menu items have changed and I don't think they're as good as they were. Go on a tuesday for the $2.00 tacos. Its a nice decent fast food type fish restaurant. Its not the greatest place but for the price and the casual fast service its not bad. read more

Clean and cheap. Walk in and guess what you do not smell? You don't smell "fishy", which is my Fish-o-meter for fresh fish. Very simple menu tacos are good, we went on a Friday and Tuesday is Taco night any taco for 2.00. it must be good because it says limit per person is 12! You order and they bring it to you, the place looks like Daphne's so I wonder if there is some relation to each other. Mahi mahi and salmon tacos I would recommend. My friends and I were looking for an inexpensive place for fish & chips and thought we'd try this place out. Over all the food was very good. We all ordered something different... crab cake sandwich, fish & chips, shrimp, and pasta (yes, they had pasta & pita bread). The meals came out hot, fresh, and pretty and the sizes were generous. Two of us took a box to go since there was so much food. I got the pasta (not a fish eater) and it was tasty especially for being made at a fish place but I wish they had a choice to through veggies in the dish (I'll ask that next time). The parking lot is small but there were still a good amount of spots. The inside was clean and the staff were nice. I'd try this place out a second time. read more

Delicious healthy food in large portions, at good prices. The Mediterranean and kale salads are my favorite (with whatever type of fish or meat you can prefer), and if they have the tomato chicken soup, it is not to be missed! Also, they serve wine and beer and have good weekly specials. read more

I work very close to this location so it's always an easy stop for me on my lunch break. I've tried many things on the menu and the food is always consistently good! The burger is AMAZING, and the poke is delicious too. I'm never not satisfied with what I order from them and their staff is very friendly and helpful as well. I even got their food catered for a company Christmas event and they were amazing! The food was ready on time, they gave us condiments and utensils and napkins and everything in between that we needed for the party! I will be a continuous customer for sure! read more

The food is fresh, healthy (if you don't order the fried stuff) and delicious! The Mahi Mahi is moist and flavorful. It is good both as a platter or in a bowl/salad. The house dressing is light and yummy! Even the kids meals were good. They even cut my son's grilled chicken into small bite sized pieces without me requesting it! Had the best customer service at this restaurant (6/25/13) by an employee named jenelle who went out of her way for me. She asked me if everything was ok with my meal and I politely said yes, but I guess she could tell cause she walked away a few steps and came back and asked if I liked my fish (tilapia with Cajun seasoning) which I didn't and offered to make me a new piece, to which I said wasn't necessary but asked for a side of garlic butter to wash down the excessive Cajun seasoning. (Seemed to be too much) with the garlic butter my meal was excellent and as a restaurant manager I hope all employees can be as detail-oriented and sweet as her. I'll definitely be back. I have not gone wrong during the multiple times i have gone here. Malibu Fish and Grill, what happened? Did you recently change ownership? I used to enjoy and recommend this place for a quick seafood meal but I was disappointed during my last two visits. The food quality has gone downhill very quickly. The ahi tuna I ordered was surprisingly thin (barely an 1/8 of an thick) and it looked like it suffered from a bad case of freezer burn. I've never had brown ahi tuna before. And the side of hummus which I used to love was very grainy. Very disappointing. read more

Service and food was not great. I got the kale and quinoa salad with ahi. Almost no quinoa and the kale was totally raw and chewy. It took 30 minutes and the place was not crowded. My order sat until they finally realized I was waiting. I have .had a better experience at other locations. read more

Great tacos! Good size! We came in at 7:00pm. It was kind of crowded but we were able to find a spot right after we placed our order . It's kind of annoying to have to keep getting up and ordering more beers and having to wait in the food line, but it's worth it for the tacos- so fresh and delicious! read more

This is one of my new favorite fish places now. Malibu Fish Grills employees are good and my food came fast. I ordered Blakened Catfish with some French Fries. The Catfish was really good! ~ But not as good as Lucille's. Also the french Fries were good and the price was fantastic read more

In the past week, I frequented this restaurant 3 times and have been very pleased. Keep in mind that this is not a fancy restaurant and is very affordable. I judge restaurants on the type of establishment they are. I had lunch there today and my companion and I talked about how we could not have cooked this ourselves for less money. Great value and extremely friendly and helpful staff. My faves are the earth salad with shrimp and the miso glazed salmon. You can eat healthy or you can splurge a little. I have yet to order the desserts but may save room next time. Clean food, great prices, quick and helpful service. What more can you ask for?! read more

I been here a couple of times for lunch, and they always take forever to get your food. It's always busy, and I don't think there food is all that great. I think the California Fish Grill is better. Malibu Fish Grill has more selections and a better look restaurant then the California Fish Grill, but the service and food quality isn't that great. I remember one time I order the salmon with brown rice, and it took over 30min. They told me the brown rice is still cooking and if I can wait another 5min. read more

This place has healthy light meals that won't weigh you down. You get large portions which you can share or eat half later.

I am a very health conscious baby-boomer. Rarely does one find a restaurant with couples great taste with healthy food. This is one of those restaurants. Several hours after I eat, I don't have that "bloated" feeling. And the prices are amazingly low! Mixed review. Taco Tuesdays: $2 - $3 tacos. Loved the crispy = fried Wahoo Taco: solid piece of white fish. Weird topping = tasteless shredded lettuce & cheese. Shrimp tacos = HORRIBLE = tough, rubbery & over cooked. Had I been at a regular sit down service restaurant, I would have sent them back! (why didn't I think of this sooner?) I eat here with my family at least once a month. Food is good, service is quick, prices are not unreasonable but the parking is limited. I have had their seared AHI and it pretty good with a salad and another side for less than $ 10.00 is a bargain.It's health but not boring. read more

Just tried this place with my family over the weekend for the first time after driving past everyday on my way home and it did not disappoint! The service was fast and the food was so so good! We all had the fish taco combo (which is not on the printed menu) and I can't wait to go back and try other items. The staff was friendly and the price is very reasonable for the amount of food you receive. The restaurant is clean inside and out. The parking lot is small, yet there are other places to park in the strip mall next door. I would recommend this spot for sure. read more
