Ambiance was nice! Small restaurant. Good food. Cesar salad was great. My entree was the mussel appetizer. I love mussels, but I'd probably say there was too much going on with it overall. Italian sausage, mussels, Thai chili cream broth. But overall it was all good! The signature burger was also delicious. Service was great :) attentive and helpful.

We dropped in this small but high ceiling bar/restaurant just across the street of the pier of Hermosa beach. Parking was challenging so we parked at the structure next to Chase bank. Place is small but we were able to seat 11 of us by the window where good looking people passing by in their swim suits! Sorry I forgot our servers name, she's young, pretty, kind, helpful, attentive and a fast server. Seems like they have more tables upstairs with a view, not sure. Anyway, we had their Lobster ravioli,Skirt steak surf and turf, linguini clams, seared scallops, Grilled King Ora Salmon. I had their Salmon, usually i dont finish grilled salmon coz it's always overcooked and dry BUT this one was creamy and crispy on the ouside, flavorful, portion was just enough and the veggies that came with it were recognizable. I tasted their other dishes and they were also delicious. I love this place I will be coming back and yes I would highly recommend this awesome place. Its best if you make reservations since it's a small place and next to the pier.

I came here for the first time 2 years ago with one of my closest friends from college and we've cone here every time we made our way to Hermosa. We came here on double dates, business venture talks, studying dates, and girls nights. Tonight is the last night my friend and I get to hangout here since she's moving to Colorado and Zane's made it yet again the most special night we could've asked for. We came in with other friends, fake wigs and all and the servers and team made this a beautiful farewell party. Thank you Zane's team and thank you to our server Bella!!!

If you are in the South Bay, you have to check out Zane's Restaurant in Hermosa Beach! Pro tip: make sure to snag a seat right in the window by the bar. It is hands-down the best spot in the house for dinner because you get the most stunning, unobstructed views of the sunset over the pier. Let's talk food--you absolutely need to order the poke! It is incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned, and practically melts in your mouth. Pair it with a cocktail and you are set. But honestly, the real highlight of the night was our bartender, Chris Traven. We love him! He took such amazing care of us, made the best drinks, and his energy totally elevated the whole experience. If you go, definitely sit at the bar and say hi to Chris! Zane's Restaurant, Hermosa Beach #ZanesHermosaBeach #HermosaBeach #SouthBayFoodie #LosAngelesEats #LAFoodReview #SunsetViews #LAPoke #BartenderLove #SouthBayLA #HermosaPier

Only had shrimp scampi happy hour / social hour for $16. It doesn't come with pasta but it does have juices to dip bread in or take home to make some pasta. The bread no longer comes with the 3 dips. But it is good and free. Ambience. Outdoor seating is nice on a nice day to watch foot traffic. Indoors seemed a bit more formal. Next door is an ice cream shop with giant connect 4 that the kiddos can play with if dine outdoors. Service was friendly and good but they only had 1 server outdoors I posted multiple menus because it was different on door than on table. Table dessert had plantains foster added.

I've been coming to Zane's off and on for a few years now, and the quality of the food just keeps getting better. The atmosphere immediately transports you--like stepping into a New York-style restaurant--making it clear you're in an elevated dining environment. The manager, Christine, is an absolute gem. She sets the tone for the entire team and trains her staff to deliver impeccable service every time. Also, best espresso martini on the pier by a mile.

Everything went extremely well this evening while traveling through Hermosa Beach with my friend. We stopped in the most charming part of town and looked up reviews on this application. We were greeted with extremely nice smiles and happy people into an environment of joy and great smells. Daniela or Danielle? Was our waitress and she was sparkling with humor, intelligence, and a wonderful everything else. The most important thing here was the food and it did not disappoint in anyway I had calamari and then the black truffle pasta with shrimp and my friend had the salmon with vegetables. Both were perfectly cooked, spiced and delicious in every way. The beer selection was also important to us and it did not disappoint. Do yourself a favor and steer your Body and soul to this restaurant. You will not be disciplined.

Every dish was a winner. Great ambience. The grilled artichoke, focaccia made in-house, shrimp scampi, and cocktails were all scrumptious. Service was stellar. Plus we met a couple who sat next to us and made a second date.

Front- bad fish. Back-really really bad fish.

Drinks, service, atmosphere were all great. Then there's the food. Not so great. I was starving, so I was excited when the server told us that focaccia bread was coming out. It was piping hot and looked delicious. It was not. It was so bland. Even with the cheese/herb topping. Does bread need salt?! Because this needed...something. It was just super disappointing. Then for the entrees...I got the eggplant Parmesan. It arrived lukewarm-the cheese on top wasn't even melted all the way. It tasted good, so I guess there's that. My friend got the sea bass. It was a perfect oval shape like it had been processed and pressed into a mould. It was stringy and tough. The butter sauce had good flavor, but the fish was just BAD. The bartender offered to have the chef cook another one but it was equally as bad. It at least looked like fish, but still had a tough stringy texture. The bartender took it off our bill but did not seem surprised that we returned it to the kitchen. The drinks were delicious and the appetizer (zucchini) was really good. But I'd stop at that point knowing what I know now. Drinks, apps-yes. Entrees-no.

Came during dineLA so some people in our group opted for that menu - was a great way to sample their most popular dishes. I opted for the Meiji Soymilk Miso Ramen - such a unique take on ramen I had to try it. The broth was so creamy and could not tell dairy was not used. The blistered green beans were so flavorful and crispy as well. Everything was delicious and came out super hot. Came for a birthday celebration and all the staff signed a birthday card which was very sweet - a fun personalized touch that I haven't seen at other restaurants. To share, we had the following dishes: - Hokkaido Milk Bread: Crispy and fluffy. A good appetizer. I also liked the fish roe butter it came with. Kind of overhyped though. - Japanese Pancake: Pretty different from the souffle-like Japanese pancakes I've had, but this was still pretty good. The texture was chiffron-like and it was light and fluffy. Definitely less heavy than the traditional American pancake. The salted maple syrup and tart blueberries were nice layers that complimented the not too sweet pancake. - Pork Belly Eggs Benedict: What I liked the most was the crumpet-like english muffin used for this dish. It's very different from a traditional english muffin, but I liked the soft and fluffy texture of it that soaked up the hollandaise sauce which was pretty good. However, the pork belly portion was too small and was masked by the sauce and muffin, so I couldn't really taste it. - Nashville Spiced Hot Chicken Karaage: Solid karaage with moist a moist chicken interior and crispy exterior. The seasoning was good and unique and so was the creamy dipping sauce. - Fried Rice For Breakfast: Solid fried rice and I could tell they used day old rice which is optimal. The ginger flavor is pretty prominent which I liked. - Ube Ice Cream Birthday Dessert: Got this for free for my birthday. This is definitely FIlipino approved. The ice cream had a good Ube flavor and was super creamy. I also liked the crunchy bits on the bottom which added texture. The interior of the restaurant was clean and felt cozy. I made a reservation before on the OpenTable app which I recommend during peak times. The service was mixed. Our server was super nice, but she and other servers were hard to flag down. Since my parking time was running out, I had to walk to the host table to pay. She even forgot my uncle's coke.  Parking in the area can be tough. Street parking if you're lucky or valet ($15 for 2 hours on Sunday when I went). Overall, my experience was generally good. I wouldn't mind coming back here if someone invited me.

Brussels were good, but air fried crispy individual leaves so it felt like a fried salad that was difficult to eat vs. eating actual brussels whole. The rosemary fries were one of my fav sides and shishitos were nice. The smoked old fashioned is totally overrated for the price and they use basic ice, not a single large cube of cocktail ice which is offensive considering the prices at this place. Also, the whiskey/bourbon flights say "2 oz or 3 oz" which would lead ANY patron to believe it's per pour, but no, it's spread across 4 glencairns, which means 1/2 oz each if you order the 2 oz and the prices are INSANE. When it arrived, I had to do a double take as the guy then explained. I'm a big bourbon/whiskey nerd, so I know the price of most of the bottles offered in the flights roughly and most are not rare pours, but things you can find at total wine/bevmo with a few exceptions. They do have a nice and unique collection otherwise vs. a lot of places, but it's severely overpriced from what you'll find at other restaurants throughout LA and OC. Was also surprised not one of their 3 glass pinots was Sta. Rita Hills unless I'm blind. Service was good, but not sure why the steak came out before any of the sides. Also, it was completely dead on a Wednesday night. Too many better steak places w/ better ambiance/food and quality for the price. My friend and I each had a steak, split 3 sides, had 1 smoked old fashioned and split a tiny 4 pour flight (upgraded to 3 oz btw due to the 1/2 oz pours. The damage with a nice tip? About $200 ea.

We opted for a few small dishes to share, including: - Kanpachi ceviche (4/5) very light and refreshing. Wish there were more of the fish, though - Sugar cube melon and lemon cucumber salad (5/5) super ripe cantaloupe and plenty of zing in every bite. My favorite dish! - Hand rolled spaghetti (3.5/5) it was a pesto spaghetti dish that was very flavorful, but I wasn't blown away by the handmade spaghetti: it could've been more al dente and the sauce didn't really taste like pesto; I tasted mostly lemon. A bit overly salty, too - Smoked and 1/2 fried chicken (3.5/5) the chicken was beautiful fried, with a thin yet hardy crackling interior that I hadn't quite had before in fried chicken. Sauce was sweet in its soy sauce base, but some cuts of meat were on the dry side - Coffee toffee pudding (3/5) probably the weakest of the bunch: we waited 8-10 minutes for it (as advertised), and it came in...a mug?? Not the most beautifully-presented, and overall, I did not get a lot of the pudding inside, mostly the toppings. Given that it's $12 for otherwise a microwavable dessert, it was disappointing - Chocolate flan (5/5) now this hit the spot! Honestly, it didn't even taste like flan, but rather a very smooth cheesecake. We're glad we added it on at the last minute! Overall, plenty of punchy flavors and innovative dishes that change monthly. However, the price point ($33+) per dish for such small plates is a bit much, but I can see myself returning for special occasions (and their breakfast burritos)!
