The café has a lovely ambience. And we've had lunch here which is costly but fun. You order at a counter and then they bring the food to your table. This morning we tried a quick coffee and a piece of quiche and croissant. The espresso was Undrinkable . We asked for it to be remade. They were very accommodating but again undrinkable. My husband described it as Battery acid. My decaf Americano was tasty, but the coffee here definitely has a very distinctive tangy taste to it. We waited 15 minutes for a piece of quiche to be heated when the cafe was not crowded. I would not recommend this for a quick coffee in the morning. There are many other coffee shops in Princeton that will give you good coffee at a much more reasonable price and serve it relatively quickly. read more

New fav breakfast place in Princeton (which is high praise as there are a few amazing options). The atmosphere and decor is great (says my wife, I don't really care about that.) It's obviously becoming popular based on the length of line to order. The line moved quickly (except for our group of 6 because somebody couldn't make up their mind...) Our food came it in 11 minutes and 23 seconds (which was probably faster than it took a certain someone to her order). All the food is amazing. Breakfast sandwich is solid (but they should bring back the bacon jam). The Overnight Oats are simple and delicious. Waffles? YES. Omelette? Yes again. Baked stuff is so good, even the vegan GF. However they changed there menu and all the usual food I like was gone and/or changed. Thanks for the laugh! We stopped in for a large coffee and a cookie. I was charged for a large coffee and a cookie as was shown on my receipt. The cookie was so good! The coffee tasted fine but was leaking. After fiddling with the lid, I realized that a small coffee with a lid was put inside a large coffee cup! Thats one way of maximizing profits! The Hospitality we received from Sam, the manager, was that of a 5 star restaurant. He made sure I was comfortable while in line, while waiting to be served and after service. He even distracted our 2 year old with Crayons so that we could enjoy our tasty sandwiches in peace. read more

I was excited to visit the new Maman's in town today but my trip turned sour real fast. There was a toddler having a meltdown (as toddlers do) and the mother was trying to calm her down, the manager approached the mother and in a rude manner asked "what is wrong with her!" The mother stated her child was having a tantrum and if she didn't calm down she would leave. The manager said yes I know she is having a tantrum but my customers are upset. (This woman was a paying customer as well). In the end the toddler calmed down and all was well but I will not recommend Maman's to anyone after I saw how they treat their customers. read more

I think the people that gave this place five stars are related to the owners. . The staff seems extremely miserable. The chef is seen at the back of the kitchen, screaming his head off at everybody. They forgot my food twice and just didn't make it, and when I asked for my money back, they simply said they cannot give me my money back, but also the chef refused to make my salad because he said too much time has passed and he doesn't want to make it. Lol ...went there one more time thinking maybe that one day was "off" got the farro salad . Food was extremely mediocre and way over priced. Staff again was sad and miserable and no lunch rush, the food took 30 minutes to come out. Please do not go here , there are lots of better places in the area where you will at least get a smile or hello out of someone . read more

It's a rip off! I was happy to see no line and decided to order a sandwich to go, but was disappointed to wait for 10 minutes. The sandwich is very small for claiming to be on a baguette. Someone is making miniature baguettes. After receiving the packaged sandwich, I asked for a bag since I was on the go. They responded with requiring an additional 25 cents! I just paid $15 for a mini baguette tuna sandwich but now I couldn't place it in a bag without digging through my purse for a lost quarter? No thank you. The principle is enough. It was a busy morning so it's understandable that mistakes happen, but nonetheless, if a mistake happens it's important to handle it appropriately. Our table was missing one of our entrees and had reminded a staff member and the general manager twice about it over the course of an hour. When the entree still hadn't come out after the second reminder, we spoke with the general manager to check on the status of the order, and he did not apologize or even acknowledge the inconvenience even though we waited for a long period of time. When we tried to explain the situation, the GM did not listen and just explained their side, talking over us, without hearing us out and then walked away mid sentence as we were speaking to him. We were not asking for anything, just raising awareness to the situation at hand in an effort to prevent it from happening to future customers. Hope the manager was just having a rough day but either way he made our table feel unwelcome and belittled. read more

Visited maman no the 1st of Jan . Stopped by after lunch around 2 pm . Stood in line for about 30 mins just to get to the counter to find out, they had run out of everything we wanted . No hot coco no cappuccino no lattes . Mind you they had so many people waiting in line only to waste their time to find out they don't have anything to serve . No matter how good a bakery is it does not justify wasting time of their potential clients. If the store is out of stock of literally more than half the things on the menu it is wise to close down or put a board out saying we are out of these items so the customer don't waste their time in line. They are new but my first impression was not good enough to back in. I rather take my business to small world or little chef who are amazing and know the community they serve. read more

So I have been to at least 3 diff locations, it is tough to scale with quality, think this chain is not an exception. So much potential, the location, decor, all awesome, the menu itself. Execution, is unfortunately where this is failing. I have visited at least 10x, including opening day, it's not that I have not given them a chance. Tried most of the menu, as this is what I do, inconsistent to say the least. Way overdone baking, croissants are almost burned to a crisp at times, others, they are barley passable. I can go on and on about what is wrong with the food quality and lack of attention to detail (this is what makes or breaks a spot like this, someone owning the quality). I will move on to the flow and function of the space, broken is how I would describe it in a nutshell. The popularity of the spot given it is new and unique plagues the logistics, figure out a system of how to efficiently allow for folks to sit. Working models out there, but anarchy isn't working here. Perhaps require that you order before you sit and reserve a table? Good luck, it will most likely be successful venture, but the regulars will get tied quickly if these issues aren't addressed head on. read more

I went 5 minutes before closing time. The staff was unfriendly and uninterested in explaining what the bakery items were. They would barely give me an answer when I asked them what they were made of since I have a child with severe nut allergies. The people are very nice. But the service is slow. It's quite expensive for self serve, and my biggest pet peeve is that they have clearly bad ventilation so, if busy, which it was around 2:30 pm on a Friday afternoon, you leave with your coat and shirts smelling of cooking. As a long-time resident, I would like a break from the mediocre dining in Princeton. I've had disappointing visits to this establishment. The baked goods are heavy and tasteless, the soup bland, the coffee average, and the salads uninspired and salty. The staff is the one great thing, they are friendly and hardworking. If you want a quality baked good, try the Little Chef on Tulane for a flakey buttery Paris-like croissant. If coffee is your thing, head down the street to Rojos on Palmer Square. Rojos serves real craft coffee, locally roasted with a terrific staff. With 25 other shops, Maman is just serving a cookie-cutter ordinary in a great location. read more

We went there during the first week they were open and found it disorganized but friendly. The manager intervened and we left feeling they would work out the initial kinks. Two weeks later, we returned and ordered, paid and found seats in a corner that had not been cleaned but it was crowded, so we made do. We received our drinks but not sandwiches. After 20 minutes, we followed up and were told ours were the next to be delivered. Ten minutes later, we followed up again and learned the order had not been given to the kitchen. We were asked if we still wanted the order. We said we did, and ten minutes later, we received one partially heated sandwich in a takeout container with a bagged pastry we had not ordered. (Our drinks were delivered as ordered, to stay in the restaurant rather than take out, but it felt like they now just wanted us to leave.) We asked about the second sandwich and were told they had only prepared one and we had only paid for one, although the order taker had repeated our request for two when we ordered. Four people were looking into it and no one had realized they had made an error from the onset, as we had continually asked about two sandwiches we were expecting. We had not asked for the paper receipt so we were out of luck. We hope they get their act together, but their response to their continued errors was a big disappointment. read more
