Hub's extra crispy bacon, eggs, home fries. Yum! - 5/15/2022

4th of July 2025 sunny breezy 80°F Mamaroneck Diner again welcomed our motley crew party of seven on this beautiful sunny morning without blinking an eye. We enjoyed dining al fresco by the yacht club after hiking at Rye Conservancy. There was a perfect cool breeze by the water! Our party was well attended to by two excellent servers. Each and every particular Brunch order came out quickly and cooked perfectly, with piping hot coffee and tea refills served. The crispy bacon aficionados in the group were very pleased. Thanks (it means a lot) !! :) **Open 24 hours** ***Even open on Holidays - - 4th Of July*** **Old School Diner ** **reasonable prices on a BIG menu ** Have great day!!

Food was good and the staff were very nice. The inside is a more standard diner with a dated interior and could use a refresh, but everything I ordered came out perfect and tasted good. Is it super glamorous inside - no - but would I go back because of the food and service - yes - and that's what matters for a good diner.

Decent but not over the top special. Conveniently located near the water (Atlantic Ocean) with a dock storing privately owned boats, this diner hits the spot on a number different levels. It is clean, spacious, and conservative in its list of food options. Doesn't take long something for everyone. My rating stems from a lack of high-quality food that used to be served here. I ordered the vegetarian panini that came with roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella, and other vegetables. It was grilled well and served with sweet potato fries. We did not feel rushed to exit the restaurant as a big group and did pay Scarsdale prices for a meal. Overall dependable diner with places to walk around after completing your meal. Expensive with a conservative menu but generally good and decent!

Went to two diners with a 1/2 hour wait before calling here, where they promised to save our party of 7 a table. Which they did. Food was delicious and the service impeccable. Everyone was friendly and made us feel welcome. Next time, we will come here first.

This diner has been my go-to for 5+ years. My original favorites that made me come back were the Waffle Fries (add-on) and the honey mustard sauce. The food is good today. However, it is somewhat disappointing that the quality has gone down in the past couple years. While I still love dining in, parts of the floor is almost always closed, which doesn't contribute to the atmosphere positively. Service is okay. Price is also okay for a diner. Portion is big and filling!

We stopped here seeing the great reviews on Trip Advisor. It's just a few minutes off the highway and was exactly what we had hoped for on a long day! The turkey club was classic diner fare with a generous portion of fries and Cole slaw. The kids had pancakes and chicken tenders and fries off the children's menu and there were leftovers which is unusual for our kids! The fries are beefy! The service was quick and very welcoming. I'm a pizza snob but I'd probably give it a try next time, I saw one while we were there and it looked good. All around great stop if you are traveling through Westchester and need to stop especially if you have kids. The fish tank was a big hit.

While the breakfasts are good here: old fashioned French toast and egg white omelette with a side of bacon, The clam chowder had bad clams. The clams were so old they were hard. Disgusting really. I've read other reviews saying their lunch food is disappointing. When we told the young guy at the counter we were totally ignored Hahahaha How's that for customer service. I'd give them 2 stars but we are living through a pandemic where restaurants are struggling...

Tough to review just a quick stop by the slice. I heard Sal's outdoes everyone else in this part of…read moreWestchester, so I accompanied my pizza fiend - oops, friend - down to Mamaroneck to check them out. And this is a place worth checking out. Old-school vibe inside, not at all like the new-wave joints around. You can tell Sal's has been here for generations, which means they do it right. You walk in, there's a pizza counter to the left, a few tables to the right, some more in the back... and a hidden whole other room! So there will be room for you to enjoy your meal. This review is divided for now. My friend got cheese slices. They're big, thin, covered just right in cheese - win. Crust just the right toasty to hold the slice up. Classic NY pizza we got here - everyone in Fairfield County should visit. I peeked over at the other table and they had Sicilian slices that also look legit, if that's your thing. Plenty of cheese, soft crust, all that. Then there's my side. I had looked at the BBQ place next door and decided "nah, too contrived", so when I discovered the neat-looking slices on their platter were BBQ chicken, I went for them. Well, they actually didn't come out that hot. The thickness of the meat probably got in the way. Then there's the fact they were white slices (since BBQ sauce gets in the way of tomato sauce), but not hepped up with ricotta or other white cheese inside. I'd make those suggestions for improvement. There are also some other bizarre slices on offer - they're not afraid of variety! I'd steer clear of the salad pizza though. So based on just the one visit and everything I saw and tasted - 4 stars. I would want to get a whole pie next time for a fresh-baked experience, see how quickly that goes and if it's done just right. I doubt my review will drop, but it could rise up to 5. To be continued... ... So, I came back a second time with my friend. This time, I wasn't even feeling the pizza vibe, so I went with a meatball... wedge. Which is a sub if you're not from the area. Don't be scared by the name. It was tasty, but as I expected, just meatball, cheese, and some sauce. Actually a better balance of sauce to cheese than the pizzas, I thought. I was a little perturbed that our visiting friend's white slice is just pure ricotta, no white sauce below, no mozz on top. From my second experience, I'm keeping it at 4 stars.

Nice crust, very flavorful sauce but not overpowering and a decent amount of cheese. Now this chicken parm was delicious! It comes open. I added some red pepper flakes to mine because I love the kick of heat! Fresh chicken cutlets with a layer of sauce and the right amount of cheese. Not sloppy and a very good portion to share. But if you want to devour it on your own go for it. You might struggle a bit with the rest of the sandwich but it's amazing!

I also want to preface this by saying that I think this place is a solid choice and it is not a bad place to grab a bite or a drink. I have been a couple of times now. While I would go back again, I wouldn't go out of my way to go there. The ambience is good. It's a nice space and it does have space for both larger and smaller groups. The wait staff is also very nice and I have zero issue with them. The food is good enough, although not spectacular. They are definitely going for a high end bar/brunch/dinner spot. A step up from a local pub, a little bit more of a shine/elegance to them. The vibe is actually great for a larger group. The most recent time we went, our table got steak nachos, a burger, the sweet potato and rice bowl (with shrimp added), and a steak sandwich. The steak sandwich was reportedly really good (I didn't try it) and looked nice. The nachos were fine, not great. Didn't feel like there was enough cheese, but the steak on it was actually really nice. The rice bowl was really not exciting. There was nothing elevated or nuanced about it. The shrimp was the best part and was beautifully cooked and seasoned, but that was an add on and I would have been disappointed with it if not for the addition of the shrimp (which then made the bowl over $25). We ordered the burger medium rare, and it came very well done. To be fair, when we mentioned it to the server, she took it off of the bill, which we appreciated. Overall, I would say the food is hit or miss. Most of our proteins were cooked very nicely and with good flavor, but the other parts of the meal were just fine, not great. The price point is such that I expect a little more for what I am paying. That being said, the staff is nice and the ambience is good, so for a quick and easy meal, it's worth it if you are in the area.

Some of the broccoli rabe was a little tough to chew, but not too bad. It was topped with a generous portion of cheese. I loved the tender mushrooms. My husband got the cozze. The portion of mussels was large and he enjoyed the sauce. We also shared the cinnamon french toast, which was delicious. It didn't even need syrup as it was perfectly sweet with the cream and berries on top. Even so, they had several syrups to choose from including amber and maple.
