Mambo's came across my feed, and the rooftop view is what sold us. We were able to make a quick reservation and enjoy some time overlooking Bourbon Street. It was very cloudy, but that didn't ruin it for us. Because the humidity in New Orleans is ridiculously crazy. The overcast made it very comfortable for us. Our waiter was very nice and very patient. Since we were so undecided on what we wanted to eat. I ordered a cocktail, The Cadillac Margarita, and the chicken and sausage gumbo, and it was delicious! Everyone else enjoyed their dishes as well. If you're looking for a laid-back atmosphere with great food and great service, I highly recommend Mambo's!

I don't wanna waste a lot of time on this one. Because I know I will never go back. Food: 4/10 Service: 7/10 Just another average Place with overly priced food here in New Orleans. I see this is a common trend. But in the real world, you cannot sustain this because customers are just fed up with this crap. ChatGPT says 2500 businesses close every day! Keep this crap up like Bearcats the restaurant and both of you will be on the list soon!

I've visited this restaurant three times during my stay in New Orleans, and that alone should tell you how much I've enjoyed it! From the moment you walk in, the staff is welcoming, helpful, and genuinely kind. Their hospitality keeps me coming back just as much as the food. I always choose to sit upstairs on the balcony, which offers the perfect combination of great dining and a front-row seat to the energy of Bourbon Street. It's an experience all by itself. Now let's talk about the food. Bayybeeee, those mustard greens are absolutely to die for! They are seasoned perfectly and packed with flavor. The blackened redfish is incredible every single time, and the drinks are always on point. If you're looking for a spot with great food, great service, and a great atmosphere, this is it. Do yourself a favor and order the mustard greens. You'll thank me later!

This started as an good experience and the food was delicious. However it took over an hour to pay our checks because we had a big party and they kept making mistakes trying to split all the checks. Good place to eat but because we had a party of over 20 I think our server was overwhelmed. Management did not even off an apology for the inconvenience.

Well we just got here but our waiter is amazing. Very personable and gave Greta recommendations. Great job Michael!!! Can't wait to try my food. Food came and it was amazing. All of it was delicious. We ate until our pants almost busted, so that was signs of a great meal. Chill vibes in this place. No frills, just there for good food!!!

A great meal on Bourbon street! We walked in and were instantly greeted with a smile and great cajun vibes. Our waitress Taniysa was fantastic and recommended we start with the black and gold gator bites - half blackened and half fried. Although they were a touch salty, and gator might not be my favorite, I'm glad we got to try these here. Then the entree was a special pasta dish served with blackened redfish and barbecue shrimp. This was a heaping portion and absolutely loaded with creole flavor. The rest of the menu looked amazing as well, but I'm glad we stumbled in here and if you don't know what to get, just ask Taniysa!

After hearing the hype, the rumors are true. I'm glad I had a chance to stop in here to eat. The service was friendly and the waitress was super friendly and nice. She was attentive and made sure I was ok during my wait and while eating. The food was fresh and the portion size was big. I had enough to take home for some good ole leftovers

The group meet up here and we started with fried gator tail bites. They were tender with great flavor. I opted for the red beans and rice with crispy chicken and sausage. David our waiter was totally awesome and you could tell he took great pride in what he was doing. Gave the table great recommendation and it was a blessing seeing someone as passionate as he was. The decor was New Orleans and lively great place to eat.

This place is such a gem on Bourbon! It wasn't crazy busy on a Friday evening, so we got seated immediately. The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh (and delicious). The drinks are pretty strong and also reasonably priced. This was a great place to grab a hearty meal before continuing on to the other bars in the area!

We had the Oysters & they were good, very different from the other 2 places we went to get them. The level of hospitality here is beyond excellent the waitstaff is helpful, understanding, and freaking hilarious. They gave so many suggestions and answered so many questions we had about the area. Interior was clean. The staff was pretty laid back & approachable.

Went here during my trip to New Orleans for Southern Decadence last September--first time in NOLA. Me and two friends split off from the group and were just wandering the French Quarter looking for something that felt authentic but still a little different. Stumbled on Mambo's, checked out the menu outside, and decided to go for it. They've got a solid mix--fried alligator, rice dishes, all that--but the server told us about a special that ended up being the best thing I ate the whole trip. It was this shrimp pasta with either Alfredo or a spicy Cajun sauce, over fried fish (don't even remember what kind, I just know it hit). Only L is I went back on my last day craving it and the special had changed But yeah--big space, good music, great energy, and honestly you can't really go wrong with the food. Definitely worth it.

My review is a little late, but better late than never! On February 16th, after our jazz cruise, we decided to grab something to eat on Bourbon Street. After walking around and checking out a few menus, we ended up choosing Mambo's. I already knew I wanted Mambo's Famous Oysters, and let me just say... they were out of this world good! My boyfriend ordered the gator tail bites, and he really enjoyed them too. We had previously gone to Fiery Crab, and he said Mambo's gator bites were way better. The vibe was really nice, and what stood out to me was that the manager actually came over to our table, introduced himself, and checked on us. That level of customer service really shows they care about their guests. We didn't make it up to the rooftop this time, but it's definitely on my list for our next visit. I'm also excited to try more items on the menu, everything looks so tasty!

Ok, I'm a little late with this review--I started it and never finished. Shoutout to Yelp for that draft section I just discovered! While strolling down Bourbon Street, we decided to grab dinner and ended up at Mambo's--and I'm so glad we did! It's a multi-level spot, and we dined on the second floor. The vibe was vibrant, unique, and full of that authentic New Orleans energy. I've heard there's a rooftop bar too, but we didn't make it up there this time. Now let's talk about the food--SO good! Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and full of that classic New Orleans taste I've really come to love. And the drinks? Definitely doing what they needed to do! The service was excellent from start to finish, which always makes the experience even better. If you're on Bourbon Street, Mambo's is definitely worth a stop. I'll absolutely be back next time I'm in NOLA!

Is there an elevator to rooftop bar?

    Yes!

    Is it Dog friendly?

Nope. There isn't an outdoor space and the restaurant sits right on Bourbon Street. Besides, it is really noisy.

    Is there a dress code?

    No, casual street clothes work

What is the parking like for this place? Free or paid parking?

Street parking or you can probably find a nearby parking garage

What time do they serve food till?

    Late. 1am.

Hi I'm thinking of purchasing the NYE party tickets anyone Been there for NYE? Is there enough seating? bathroom? etc is it to crowded we are in our 50s ? So we still want action but also need to be comfortable.

Not sure about NYE special but it's 3 floors and each floor has a bar and bathrooms with elevator and stairs. 3rd floor has a balcony to people watch. My mom is 67 and got around just fine but we also didn't go during a peak time (sept)

Anyone reviews for their Nye party?

I went this year. All age groups and plenty of space between the 2 floors for seats and tables. Bathrooms on all floors. Food was fresh all night and the open bar was all premium. They had the best view of the NYE fireworks! And got all of us…

    Are there vegetarian options?

Yes, especially if you're pescatarian & eat seafood.

Does Mambos still accept reservations during the pandemic? It doesn't seem to be on the website.

Yes. I booked on Open Table.

    Is this restaurant dog friendly?

My guess would be no. Doesn't give me that vibe.

    No dirty rice

    What time is happy hour?

With 2 storms in The Gulf & COVID, pretty sure happy hour is cancelled for now.

    Any gluten free options?

Yes, ample gluten free options. My friend got red beans and rice and gumbo, both of which should be gluten free. You should be able to order any fish in a gluten-free preparation and get rice or potatoes as your side. I also can't imagine there's…

Happy hour on the weekends or weekdays?

    No happy hour currently.

Do they take reservations or just walk in?

    Both

Do they have a kids menu?

Yes it's on the website under menu --> kids menu KIDS MENU…

When you walk in you're greeted and told to get a menu and place your order at the counter. They will bring your food to your table. You pick any available table. That seems to be a thing in NOLA. The place plays contemporary jazz in the background so nice ambiance. They also have TV screens playing sports. I ordered the fried chicken, cabbage and jambalaya. Everything is WELL seasoned! I love seasoned food but this was too much for me. If it was a bit less seasoned I would have enjoyed it more. My wife got the shrimp platter with corn and mac & cheese. She felt her food was good and seasoned well. She wants to go back for lunch. To be fair I'm not a soul food person. It's not my first choice of food since I ate a lot of this food at church.

It was one of the most yummiest mac n cheese, I've tried. We also had the greens that were also yummy but a little salty for my taste, still I would return just to eat those. The corn bread was amazing, I was so happy with the texture, as it was not dry. My husband highly enjoyed the mashed sweet potato, they were his favorite as he enjoys sweets. The fried chicken left me wanting more, however, the ribs were not my favorite although they were tender, and had a good tangy flavor. I should have taken a picture of our plates because there was no leftovers. We had lemonade and the sweetest of teas. Honestly I highly enjoyed our meals The service was amazing, and super friendly. I also took an amazing peach bread pudding to go. The restaurant was golden and welcoming, they even asked if we wanted our table candle lit. Thank you to the ladies at Susie's. It was great.
