I went to Mancini de Paris in Arlington, Virginia for a way overdue haircut one weekday somewhat in the evening. My old cut was completely gone astray in the actual savage bush my head was exhibiting. When my turn was up, Mr. Mancini invited me to the chair, and while he was placing on me the hair-armor to protect my clothes, he asked: "How would you like your hair to be cut?", "I don't know... shorter I guess" - I replied a bit lost. Mancini looked at me seriously and asked me: "Are you a businessman?", "Yes" - I responded. "OK" - he said, and thereupon he grabs the tools of the trade securely and firmly, and fearless delved into flowering shrub of my head, committed to recue my business appearance from scrubbing savagism. After a few minutes, I emerged from the magic chair with a new look: professional, sharp, and atoned to my appearance; very business looking. The ambiance was great with music, street view, and with light and entertaining conversation from the friendly personnel. I happily paid the import that was not expensive at all, I picked up a couple of needed toiletries, and then I returned to the din of the gliriform race. I gave this place a few chances and was only satisfied the first time I went. The first time I went to have my gel manicure removed and redone. The woman who did my nails was great--soaked my nails, kept the length like I asked when she filed, and did a great job with the color. However, the other two times I went were awful. The second time I had a different woman who made my cuticles bleed, and the third time I went and had yet a different woman, she broke two of my nails and proceeded to file all of my nails down. Awful, awful experience. If you want a gel manicure, do NOT go here. read more

The owner of this establishment has made the most ridiculous and unwarranted comments against people who HAVE in fact been to this salon and were not overly impressed. One of them happens to be my friend, and I can verify 100% that she visited this salon. They were not rude in their reviews, but simply stated facts about how they felt their service went. The owner called them intellectually poor and morally meager, as well as a corrupt individual. The last time I checked, we were free to review and critique different business establishments so that they may improve upon their services so that customers will be happy every time they come in. Customers should not be afraid of backlash because they found their service to be somewhat mediocre. The owner accused the reviewer of being uncultured, unrefined, and rude and stated that the reviewer expected the staff to "worship" the customers. The owner then states the reviewer is "still struggling with the concept of walking erect"? Whatever that is supposed to mean. I've been getting my hair cut for years by my sister who is a professional stylist. She's busy with a new baby and lives 4 hours away now. My hair started to look pretty drab, so I consulted google for a decent stylist. There are a lot of good reviews for Adil on the internet and he did not let me down! He is friendly and very fast! My hair was washed, cut, and blow dried in about 30 minutes. I have curly hair, so it can be difficult to get a good haircut. Adil did a great job! One negative comment - you can't leave tips on a credit card. I didn't have much cash as I was expecting to leave the tip when I paid with my card. read more

I had an event to attend within a 2 day time frame and was in desperate need of getting my gown hemmed (very last minute - I know). I walked in late on a Thursday night and expressed my desperation for needing the dress to be ready by Saturday afternoon for an event that night. They immediately reassured me that it could be done. They had me try on the dress, gathered my expectations, and immediately began pinning the ends of my dress to fit my height. They sent me on my way and told me that it would be ready after 6 pm the very next day (Friday)! I happened to be in the area earlier that Friday and called them to see if it was possibly done earlier. It was! I walked in to pick up my dress. They had me try it on and the dress looked amazing! I couldn't have asked for a quicker turn-around or for a job done better. It cost about $58 to hem the lining and the dress. The customer service is terrible. I tried to get a mani/pedi but ended up walking out. There was 1 person working the front desk and it was clear it was her first day but no one was training or helping her. When someone finally came up there was a line of people at the desk waiting to be helped and when I was pointed at and asked 'what I wanted', I replied with my service request and told to just sit because there were others in front of me. The better thing to do in that case was to first not point and tell me to sit and let me know how long the wait would be. If this is an appointment only place, it would have been nice to know ahead of time and only advertise that. read more

If you are looking for an amazing cut and stylist, you really should try this salon. I have been going to Adil for years now and would drive 100 miles to get my hair cut from him. I don't let anyone else touch it. Every client I have seen before me always has a wonderful cut and style as well. I have thick long hair and he does a wonderful job in thinning it out a bit so it doesn't drive me crazy. I have also seen him take really thin hair and make it look amazingly full and bouncy. I hesitate writing such a good review about him because it will make it harder for me to get an appointment but he is really a wonderful stylist and person...so just sharing. :) read more

I highly recommend Ruso's services. I have been going to her for over 10 years and have followed her to every single employer, because she is that good. Ruso has a passion for her industry. She always makes sure I leave fully satisfied whether I get my eyebrows waxed or getting my facial done. She talks to me in advance to make sure she has a full understanding of what I am asking and what to be expected. She is a perfectionist which means I am always fully satisfied. Now I have also started taking my daughter to her. My daughter hates waxing her eyebrows but she absolutely trusts Ruso, which is such a relief :) If you need eyebrows waxed or a facial, you HAVE to ask for Ruso because I have not been able to find anyone better in D.C. are and I have looked because I always like to have my options open. read more

I have been going to Mancini for haircuts for years. I like it that I can usually get an afternoon appointment without scheduling in advance. I also like that I do not usually need to wait long once I arrive. I have short, thinning hair so my hair isn't easy to cut even though it sounds like it should be. Mancini does a good job cutting my hair. He was once on vacation and I had Anthony cut my hair and he did a very good job as well. Highly recommended for a men's haircut. read more

Last Friday, I called and requested a same day massage...granted check, then I asked for a facial after I had arrived...check, check. Then I was able to top it off with nail care. I just moved to the area and was noticed an Aveda sign when going to yoga near this salon. I needed a color retouch and had my Aveda formula with me. Phan, the stylist looked at the formula and left it with me. Other salons would take it back with them as they mixed the formula. When applying the color to my roots he told me that most young stylists don't know how to color or cut hair and they add extra colors that are not needed. He said that brunettes don't need V in their color. It is added to my color to decrease the appearance of red. After this comment, I asked him if he used the color formula I gave him, he assured me he did. My hair was not combed, styled, or dried before I left. He didn't even look at the roots after one of his assistance washed the color out of my hair. It was quite noticeable when I got home, he did not use my formula as my roots were not the same color as my hair - they were very red. The salon was dirty and looked nothing like a typical Aveda Salon. I inquired with Aveda about the salon, they stated that this was an independent salon and they have no way of enforcing standards. I will never visit this salon again. read more

I was looking for a local place to get a relaxing massage & thought I'd try this place as it got good YELP reviews. I had been to the old location once before for a haircut and while pleased with the cut, the salon itself seemed a bit disheveled and dated. The new location is beautiful & the staff are all super nice. When I looked up prices for the massages, noticed they had a half day spa bundled pkg of massage, facial, mani-pedi for only $180!! I treat myself to a spa day a couple times a year so I am familiar with area pricing and this is quite the bargain. I booked a haircut too since the spa pricing was so reasonable. I was expecting the spa services to be mediocre given the price but they were amazing. both the massage and the facial technicians were highly skilled and fantastic at what they do. The pedicure was a dream as well. Then I got a haircut from Phan and really hit the beauty lottery. It was a great cut and I have gotten so many compliments it's crazy. Needless to say I highly recommend this salon/spa and will be back soon. read more

I am not a big yelp person, but I have to say this is one of the worst places to get a mani/pedi . I have a regular nail salon I go to, but in a pinch I have stopped in to Mancini de Paris since I can walk there. Every time I leave asking myself why I went in again. She didn't soak my hands at all for the manicure. The "hand massage" if you call it that was done after my nails were painted and still wet. The polish is on kind of thick. It has been less than 12 hours and three nails have small chips. I didn't even cook dinner or wash dishes last night. My pedicure was just painful. Nails were cut way too short and one toe was cut which I had to repeatedly tell her to stop touching during the rest of the pedicure because it hurt. This is the second time I have been cut here during a pedicure. I think I have only been three times. I complained about the pedicure and was given a gift certificate, but I don't think it is worth the pain. read more

I have gradually been getting various services at Mancini and have liked them all. After meeting Adil I have now decided it will be my Go To salon for everything! I walked in one day to get my bangs chopped off. He was hesitant but I was insistent and he did it. Even he ended up liking it in the end! He was so friendly and fun. So I started this review almost a year ago and for some reason got sidetracked and never finished it. So I'm back again after just having been for a manicure this afternoon. I'd like to publicly state that Janett gives the best manicures in Arlington. I've been to many places. She greets me with a smile and a hug and is very careful, takes her time and has a gentle touch and friendly manner. She also does a perfect eyebrow wax. I never feel rushed at Manicini - like they're trying to move you through a factory. Many other nail salons feel this way. Since this is a full service salon and spa as opposed to a nail salon only, it is comfortable and doesn't reek of nail polish. Their prices are also an excellent value compared to other salons in the area. It is wonderful have one nearby salon where I can go for EVERYTHING. My teen daughters love it , too and said that Adil gave them the best and fastest haircuts they've ever had. :) read more

I was in the salon a couple of Sundays ago. I walked in just to look at prices and such to get my nails done. Prices are a bit high but service is great and worth it! From the second I walked in, I was greeted by the receptionist (Vida), I asked her so many questions and she responded every single one with a smile on her face! I was a walk in and had to wait for a technician to become available and Vida made sure I was well entertained while waiting she got me water and showed me the magazines. A twenty minute wait felt like a minute wait! She took great care of all customers, I saw her multi task with everything yet she showed amazing customer service! Next I got my nails done with Selena she did a great job making me feel comfortable but I do have to say my nails started peeling after a week but it wasn't too bad! Overall, great salon, with great service, made me feel like home! Definitely will be back and will tell all my friends! read more
