I received a gift card to this place as a gift. It's right down the street from the apartment I just recently moved into. Coming here for the first time I got a gel mani and pedicure. Victoria was great. She took her time, was meticulous and made my nails look great. Decided to come back the next day on Christmas Eve to get a haircut. Sue did a fantastic job! I love the cut and style of my hair. She didn't cut my hair to short which is always my biggest fear! She did a nice job blow drying and styling my hair. I also appreciated that she and few other staff were working on Christmas Eve. I'll definitely be back! So glad I found this neighborhood gem. read more

So, this is based on my most recent experience in October. I'd been to Mancini before with no issues, I got my hair dyed red then went from red to dark brown on a different occasion and both were fine. Then, I wanted to go from brown to blonde (a process, I know). The stylist said it wasn't a problem but would take some time. I showed photos of what I wanted, but said that I understood if I couldn't get the exact color I wanted but, due to my job, it had to be one natural color. I was in the salon for roughly 5 hours, when I was finished I had to immediately schedule an appointment to 'fix it' and had to call out of work on Monday due to how bad it was. He missed the first inch and a half of my roots, the ends of my hair were orange and my hair was about 5 different colors. I went in to get it fixed (I didn't expect to pay $255 dollars to get my hair bleached and then have to get it fixed). Even after I got it 'fixed' my roots were still showing a lot of brown. I had to go to a separate salon to get my hair a solid color so I could show my face at work without getting fired. The manager and owner watched me walk in looking like a freaking tiger and no one cared to ask why my hair was such a fiasco. Oh, and when I went back for the second time, I specifically mentioned that my roots needed to be done and was told that, roots are hard to do because they can turn out too light and that's why women with platinum blonde hair have short hair.......ummmm......what?? Definitely beware if you want anything complicated done. If you have a specific look in mind (with regards to your color) go elsewhere, run away, do NOT go to this salon- you have been warned! read more

Drop the two month old magazine at whatever chain-quick-cuts place you are sitting in. Walk out the door, head to Mancini's ask for Adil, make your momma proud by getting an adult haircut. Adil has cut my hair for over six years now, I won't go anywhere else! Even after being gone from the U.S. for a while I came right back to Adil. He only uses scissors on top and sides making sure everything is clean cut, and it grows out nice and even lasting for weeks. Most importantly, my wife is always super excited when I come back with a fresh cut. Adil is an easy conversationalist, and I always have an enjoyable time in his chair. I see many ladies, come through Adil's chair as well, so while I can truly only speak for the mens cuts, he seems he very popular and comfortable with all hair types and styles. Lovely way to spend a Sunday morning, visiting Mancini's and especially, Adil. Tried some places on my 'side of the pond', Rock Creek Parkway is closed for construction, so driving to Arlington makes for a longer trip now. But, I gotta go back, Adil is so worth it. Adil is hair artistry. He loves what he does and it shows, I've always been highly satisfied with the cut. And, he's a charming man, utterly. You'll feel that you've visited a friend, a pleasant time. Mancini de Paris is well located, but ignore the street address, a GPS will get confused. A GPS should simply say: "Uhhh, you know Bob and Edith's Diner? It's across the street". The shop is in a shopping center with a Giant. You can make a case for paid parking for the ease of grocery shopping and using the well-lit elevator garage, total convenience. The shop itself is bright and clean, but I wish that they provided gel floor mats for the stylists to stand on. Many shops do not, I always notice and always mention it. There are hair-stylist -specific mats, means all the difference for somebody who has to stand all day. read more

Wow! The shop owner went out of her way to send me a nasty message on yelp for my review and telling me she is glad I won't come back! Great customer service! I've come back and decided this place isn't for me. They did reply to my last review and offer a free cut. But I was satisfied with my cut, it was all the other stuff I didn't love. So I didn't take them up on it. While I did not get a full body shower during the shampoo this time, it was hardly relaxing. There was no head massage, and she kept shoving me when I was supposed to lift my head rather than lift it gently or ask me to lift it. And then they offered me water and brought it in a styrofoam cup. Is this the 80s? Who buys styrofoam anymore?! read more

I am not one to post reviews (but I always read them) but I received the WORST haircut of my life here. Mancini who charges extra and is supposed to be the best, cut my hair horribly. I asked for long layers and even brought in photos of what I wanted. I ended up looking like I have a shelf of hair. I don't know why there are no other reviews for Mancini Salon yet, but I came for a pedicure today (a Saturday) and it was fantastic. I realize its a new location for them, and I'm not sure how long they've been open, but they definitely deserve some praise. Their old location was -meh- and the inside was not too great. But I love this area (around Penrose)-just moved to Arlington Village, across the street- and this is definitely my new go-to for mani-pedis, at least. I walked in around 11:30am and told them I didn't have an appointment and asked if they could accommodate me. They said absolutely, and led me to the pedicure chairs where Anur (I believe) was available. She was very thorough, did a great job with my cuticles and gave a great foot/calf massage. She was a little over zealous with the pumice stone, but I must have needed it. It was sort of odd to sit watching cars driving in and out of the parking garage, but not their fault that thats the way the building is oriented. Anur even asked me if I wanted a "design" on my toes which I didn't opt for, though its cool to know its an option. She used a brush at the end to clean the paint up with polish remover, so all the edges were perfect. She even massaged my upper back while my toes were drying because she said my shoulders looked tense! They did a great job with the interiors when they opened the space; very clean and nicely organized. There doesn't appear to be much of a "waiting area," but they have so many chairs, it must not be necessary. It was only $30 for essentially a Spa pedicure and I will definitely be back again!! I will have to see about hair next, not sure if I'm ready to switch because I do love my current salon... It would be worth it though for the convenience and friendliness of this place! read more

This was my first time at Mancini and I am 100% completely satisfied. I had my haircut by Adil. He is one of the nicest and most talented hair stylists ever. He has been cutting hair for decades and the quality of his work shows. He's actually the reason why I came to Mancini in the first place. For the past three years I have been getting my hair cut by Adil. He recently moved to this new salon and I'm happy for him. This salon is BRAND NEW. Full highlight with low lights, an amazing cut (long hair) and a spa pedicure all for $200! I was paying $260 without the pedi in Georgetown. If this new salon stays reasonably priced I will definitely be back. Adil is such a talented stylist and one of the nicest people you will find in this industry. His reputation is well known especially for those adorable little short bobs...Just search yelp for Adil and you will see his customers begging to know where he is working now. The salon is all brand new and lovely with the most comfortable wash stations I have ever experienced. No stiff neck here. This review is for the hair salon. I have curly hair, and it's so tough to find a stylist who can cut curly hair well. Adil is absolutely fantastic. He listens carefully, recommends what will work best, and my curls now behave beautifully. If you have curly hair, just ask for Adil. He will work wonders. He's also friendly, funny and a great conversationalist, and does a great job with my friend's straight hair, too. A heads-up for first-timers: yes, the receptionist is, well, less than professional, and the customer service I've received from others there leaves something to be desired. This was a terrible experience! A friend of mine gave me her gift certificate for this place so I used it for a mani pedi. The place is out of my way and not close to my house but since I had the certificate I figured I would suck it up and make the trip. I went on a Wednesday early, around when they first opened. The pedicure was a butcher job (another yelper noted this very thing). My toes were hurting and bleeding, as the lady (can't remember her name) who did the work on me was very rough. Even though I was flinching in pain while she was cutting, twisting and pulling skin from my toes, she kept on going like she didn't notice my wincing in pain. Then the manicure was not thorough; lots of skin untrimmed and bleeding finger afterward there as well. The gel came off in less than a week. The handwashing sink had no clean towels available, which I pointed out to the nail tech. Two more customers went to the same sink and told their techs the same thing, and no one EVER replenished clean towels while I was there! They may not have had any clean towels anywhere in there, because there was a basket full of wet/dirty towels next to that sink, which I found odd because I got there around opening time in the morning. I got my nails done by Vicky and she's so great! Vicky is a perfectionist and she's amazing at the massages. White nail polish is difficult and I feel not everyone can do and she did an amazing job with the white. I'm extremely picky at getting my nails done and Vicky has officially become "my nail lady." Not only is she amazing at her job but she's very kind. She has great energy and dedicates the time she has to you just to YOU. I've gone to Mancini a few times now for a gel manicure. It seems like it's pretty hit or miss with the nail technicians. I've been to one girl a few times who has done a nice job and I left with my nails looking lovely, with a great polish job that's lasted a few weeks. My last few visits haven't been the best, though. My nails were BUTCHERED the last 2 times I went. I had a few nails filed too short last time which was painful and annoying for several days, and the last time I went I was cut in several places. 4 days later my cuticles are a MESS with cracks and skin peeling everywhere. I had 2 gel nails chip and 3 that are already lifting off (I'm not very hard on my nails either! I barely even use a computer!). I'm leaving for a 2 week trip, and needless to say rushing to find an hour in the next day or two to get them re-done was NOT on my to-do list. So I would say, hit or miss, but I've had one too many bad polishes here lately to give more than 2 stars. read more

What a lovely place!! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly and helpful woman at the front desk. I only waited a few minutes to be seen (it was a Tuesday night) so I can only speak on a weekday. Janet took care of me and my gel manicure. She was the absolute sweetest and gave me the best treatment. We had great conversation and I got a great manicure and needed it badly! I paid $30 for a gel manicure and I think that is perfectly priced and for the service I would have paid more. Believe me, when you find something good you stick to it. When I moved to DC/VA, I struggled to find a hair salon. (Especially for blondes) I finally found Mancini de Paris! I have been going there for over a year and a half now - absolutely LOVE this place :) Maria is the absolute BEST at color. If you are a BLONDE, you need to go here! I struggled finding a stylist who understood blondes and how to get the color you wanted. Maria is amazing. She is not only talented, but so sweet and friendly. I'm telling you blondes, you need to go here ;) I also get my hair cut by Adil. He is also AMAZING. Every time I get my hair cut by him, I always feel like a celebrity or princess. He not only blow drys your hair, but also styles it and uses his brushes to curl it. I was recommended to Maria for her hair coloring and she is by far THE best colorist I've been to since I moved here 5 years ago. I moved from WI and would plan my trips home around when I got my hair colored. I used to go to a salon in DC and was never happy with the prices or more importantly, the way my hair turned out. Maria has a talent for knowing exactly what color you're going for - she listens to what you want, doesn't push products or her opinion (like many DC salons tend to do) - she's the sweetest stylist and someone I'll continue to go to for as long as I'm in DC! I've been a client of Mancini de Paris for about a year now. I followed the fabulous Russo there from another local salon, and I'm so thrilled I did! The new location is very nice. It gives a warm, inviting vibe. The staff is always welcoming and friendly--something I find refreshing and often missing in other local salons. They go out of their way to be kind. I started off only seeing Russo, my esthetician. She is the absolute best for waxing--she has great attention to detail and does a terrific job. She basically waxes me from top to bottom and she is the only person on earth I'd trust to do so. And, she gives an outstanding facial and microdermabrasion. I'm exceptionally picky, and she's a treat! Her skin knowledge and recommendations have been spot on for me--I'm lucky to have such a great resource! I've also started getting my manicures and pedicures there as well. I've been very happy with both Janet and Yung. I had been going to yet another local salon, but really wasn't happy with the customer service. I'm very happy to find top quality for so many services at one salon. And, it is easy to park there! Driving a large SUV has its drawbacks, especially in Arlington. But, not at this salon. I simply park in the garage that's right behind the salon--and the first hour is free. I just moved to Penrose Square apartments and this nail salon is located right underneath our building. I was a little skeptical at first thinking that the prices were going to be ridiculous because of the convenience factor, but my gel manicure and polish change was very reasonably priced ($30 and $10). I walked in right when they opened and was greeted by several staff, and then a woman named Young told me she would be doing my nails. She is incredibly sweet and did a wonderful job on my nails! I've gone to Mancini several times (only ever for nail services) and mostly have left unsatisfied for the price that I'm charged for the service. Often times, the girls clip my nails too short (both fingers and toes) and are not careful when trimming my cuticles, which has once or twice resulted in my skin getting cut. Other times, I have left and my toes have polish around the nail on the skin. For $60 for a mani/pedi, I expect more...even in the DC area. I also never seem to be able to get out of there under 2 hours if I'm getting a mani / pedi. Who has that kind of time?? Also, many times the technicians or other staff are behaving in a manner that I don't think is very professional - talking on their cell phones in front of customers, or canoodling in thewash area (just behind the nail area), eating food and making a lot of noise. It's far from a "spa" experience if you ask me. I've consistently had "meh" experiences, so I only go here as a last resort. The last time I went was the day before Thanksgiving. I got a gel nail service. It peeled off the next day! I had to leave town after that and could not get back to them to ask for a refund or a redo. And I wasn't confident they'd grant it to me anyhow, so I have decided not to go back. If you love this place, then I recommend going to see Young. She's terrific and will get you in/out efficiently. read more

This review is strictly about my experience with the hair salon today. I do see Arie for pedicures and she is 5 stars. I wish I could write two reviews but yelp doesn't allow that. I have hard to manage curly hair so I get 2 blowouts per week from my normal stylist in Lake Ridge but today she had to cancel and I needed to get my hair done so I decided to try Mancini since I get my pedicures here and I live in the building. Phan was my stylist and I could not be more unhappy. At one point I thought I was going to cry in the chair but I didn't want to make a scene. First, he put a little frizz product in my hair and began blow drying my hair with a brush without any pre-drying. Yes, he began blow drying sections of soaking wet hair. When I say sections, he never sectioned off my hair or used any clips so he just picked random pieces to blow dry. The blow dryer was so hot that I saw my hair breaking off and my scalp was burning. Then he began to tell me that my stylist doesn't know how to cut hair and that I have broken hair and I need to use good hair products like what they sell. I informed him that although I do have colored hair, I use bonding treatments weekly and I get a deep conditioner and hair cut every 2 weeks. My hair is now dry and frizzy and looks like I need a haircut although I had one 5 days ago. I will NEVER make the mistake of getting my hair done here again. See the picture attached. I got my hair done there and I can say it's the worst salon experience I've ever had. The shampooing was violent, messy, and rushed. The haircut was over in 15 mins and he took liberty to do what he wanted versus what I asked for. I asked for a simple long layered cut and we even discussed length beforehand. Unfortunately i didn't know he chopped off all my hair because the mirrors in there only show from chin/neck up. You need to stand up to see the whole cut/style. The the haircut isn't blended and smells awful because of the products he used to "finish" the cut. I ended up washing it immediately when I got home. The final result is a cut that I would never get or recommend to anyone. read more

Very sketchy. My stylist left the salon, and they let me make an appointment with her. They knew full well she had left 3 weeks prior, but they still scheduled the appointment. I showed up, and they said that she hadn't come in to work today. They then said that she had previously told them if she ever skipped work that I should use this other person. It was a total lie. The pedicures are FANTASTIC; manicures not so much as the gel sometimes peels very quickly; massages are hit or miss, so I just don't bother after a few attempts; and absolutely don't get your hair cut there unless you want to cry (or maybe if it's a SUPER easy cut). I've had three cuts (2 by the owner, and 1 by the Vietnamese man) and all three times (I was desperate) I was shocked out of my mind at how bad it was. read more
