We needed a new mattress after ours started to cause us discomfort after 6+ years. Mancini's had brands that attracted us like Beautyrest and Avocado. We were greeted by Rob when we entered and he led us around the store with some great suggestions based on what we were looking for. Despite coming in for for the brands above, he led us to an Aireloom and we fell in love. Lucky for us it was the Labor Day Sale so we were able to save on our new mattress. He knew price was a big factor for me, so we started off with what felt good and then we would move to something cheaper to see how I'd like that and if I'd feel a difference to try and move that price needle down. We bought a new mattress 07/13 in store with the manager Suni. She was personable and friendly to my kids. I left however thinking...Geeze....it just seems more expensive than what I was expecting. Today I pulled out the receipt to look at the details. While we were there I told Sunni it was my understanding that the Serta and Temperpedic adjustable base were the same, and she agreed and suggested that we do the Serta and she would knock and extra $500 off as long as we were ok not receiving the promo for free sheets and pillows. Today when I pulled out my receipt I saw what really transpired. Instead of doing the Serta and giving the $500 discount she sent a cheaper store brand base that was priced exactly $500 less. As a 17 year salesperson I was floored by this violation of ethics. I called and left a message for the District Manager Scott. 5 minutes later, who calls but Suni. She said she could handle it, to which I told her thanks but no thanks. I called for Scott and would like to speak to him. Scott has yet to call back. read more

Rough behavior by the sales woman at store located at "7850 Dublin Blvd, Dublin, CA 94568". I went to the store to shop for a mattress. Spend a few minutes browsing through the store and asking a few questions to the sales lady (couldn't get her name). The sales lady was nice to begin with, however was visibly getting distracted and annoyed for no reason. We were the only customers in the store and needed her attention, however twice the phone rang and she started attending the call. Not an issue as I am usually very patient. Then when we asked her about the best price for one of the mattress we liked, she again got on a call and asked us to wait. After 5 minutes of wait time, when we got back again to the price question, she said, are you guys playing this game at other stores too? I was so SHOCKED at this rough tone and behavior. She was probably having a rough day, but that's absolutely no way to talk to a customer. I didn't tell her anything, instead decided to leave the store and promised never to go back there again. Mancini's mattress They advertise that they sell you the best mattresses at best price however what we don't see is what goes on behind the scene. My niece moved across the country and has just arrived in California. She is a nurse and felt an obligation to live up to her commitments so not coming was not an option. She didn't have her apartment yet, and because she was isolating herself, she was sleeping in an empty apartment on the floor. When Mancini's mattress found out they immediately had someone call her. She said they were incredibly kind and accommodating. They are delivering her a mattress in two days when she moves into her apartment so she doesn't have to sleep on the floor. This is a review of the Mancini's Sleepworld location in Dublin,CA and specifically, the store manager Suni Nutakki. This was by far the worst sales experience I've ever had in my life. I do not recommend you do business at this store - buyer beware. A little background: my wife and I are in the market for a new mattress and this was our second visit to the store within the past week. Our first visit with Suni was extremely pleasant. In fact, after visiting several different mattress stores, I commented to my wife how pleasant the experience with Suni was. I was convinced we would eventually make our purchase thru her. She was thoughtful, attentive and seemed to be really in tune with our needs. As we walked out the door during our first visit, Suni said "I know you will be back, trust me". I thought it was tongue and cheek but I should have known better. Fast forward to today, after another exhaustive round of mattress store visits, we decided to go back to Suni because of how well she treated us. We are still trying to decide what mattress is best for us and are really struggling to determine the optimal value-proposition for us. We really love the Tempurpedic line of mattresses but are trying to determine whether this would be a luxury purchase or if it is the only mattress which will meet our needs. Once again, Suni was very attentive at first but I did start to get a couple of signals she was becoming more aggressive. I clearly communicated where my wife and I are in the purchasing process but a couple of times thru ought today's visit I noticed her glancing at her watch - as in, "you're starting to waste my time. Are you going to buy something or not?". My wife and I decided we still need more time to inform our decision and thanked Suni for her time. This is where things just went off the rails. In fact, we're still shocked at Suni's transformation from a sweet, thoughtful and attentive professional to an absolute win-at-all-costs shark. Suni was determined she was going to get her sale. I informed her that there was not much she could do to get my business today because we were still undecided. She told me to just "throw out a number" for a Tempurpedic ProAdapt model we were interested in. So I did just that, I said "two thousand, new". She fired back that she couldn't do that and then started accusing me of being unreasonable. Then she ran thru some of the sleazy salesman greatest hits: 1. "I can do this today only" 2. "We can't discount because we won't make any money" (this one really bothered me. Just google the markup mattresses have) 3. "You have to help me help you" At this point, Suni is visibly upset. My wife and I were in a state of shock ("Is this really happening?"). Again, we politely tried to tell her we weren't ready to purchase and needed more time to think. Then she tells us she needs to make her commission and that we were not helping her! At this point, I wasn't sure if I should escalate the tension or feel sorry for her. Im thinking, "you're trying to sell me a $4k item and your persuasion tactic involves convincing me I need to help you meet your commission?". In the end, my wife and I did not escalate and politely walked out. Now, we will continue our search. I told my wife that I hope we end up buying the same mattress from another Mancini's location and help a decent salesman make their quota. My advice you if you are dealing with Suni: do not fall for her initial charm. She has a cork board with lots of handwritten customer letters prominently displayed in the sales area but don't be fooled, she is a skilled shark and is just waiting to catch her prey. Do not let yourself be bullied or pressured into a decision for such a big purchase. Take your time and inform yourself. Don't fall for the mattress industry gimmicks and never-ending "limited sales". If you are patient, you will make a better decision. read more

The guy helping me said I could not, I immediately became hostile, some words came out. He made some calls, didn't hear back and got an unsure answer from another store manager. She has helped me numerous times in the past and it was nice that she remembered me. She helped me find a mattress for a guest room, and pointed out three mattress for me to try. I selected the Nectar mattress and she was able to quickly look at the inventory to confirm that it was in stock. I'm also pleased that it will be delivered tomorrow. Sadly, based on my recent experience, I cannot post a positive review. I had been a long-term customer since moving to CA. First purchasing my livingroom set and then my bedroom set. I was excited that my new job brought me back to the Bay Area. Now, in need of a new matress and box spring, I only thought of Mancini's. Things started off great. I was seen sitting on the beds, and the associate came and told me to actually lie down on them in truly measure lumbar support. Great, thanks. I know know that associate is the Manager, Sunny. Sunny showed me options, and I ultimately made my decision. Bonus was that it was on sale! Sunny asked if I needed a box spring. I said I did. She recommended getting the 9" because otherwise, it would be too low. Great, thanks again. So I got the 9" based on this recommendation. Fast forward... I take delivery and the 9" is way too high. Literally, as high as the bed frame itself. I would need a step. So I called back. I went back to the store, with pictures in hand. The gentleman there told me that yes, it was high. The other box spring heights available were a 5" or 2". He recommended I measure first. In the meantime, he'd let Sunny know of my need to exchange it. Here's were things go off the rails. Bottom-line, I don't like leaders or managers who don't take responsibility or accountability for their words and actions. Especially, when customers look to them to be the experts in their field...not just collecting a check, we hope. I speak with Sunny. I tell her that after measuring (Thank you John for that guidance!!) the 2" box is preferred. Well, not so fast. The lower box spring requires additional support rails and support leg, otherwise it would void the warranty. She recommended I simply place the box spring on the floor (I have under bed storage; not an option). Plus, how unhygienic. Or I can buy a metal frame from them for about $39. Another option was to buy blocks from Home Depot, cut to size. I tell her let me think about it and measure the storage area, to see if the metal rails are a option, as this would lower the bed about 4 inches. OK. So I measure and the storage is still too night to drop for the 2" box. So I called today to request simply changing to the 5" box spring. Well, all of a sudden, that one ALSO NEEDS MORE SUPPORT and IT'S A 6" BOX, BECAUSE IT'S A DIFFERENT MANUFACTURER. Suffice to say, with each conversation with Sunny, more and more "expert" information is shared. Seriously??!?! So, now I'm upset. And tell her, look just change it to the 5" or 6" ore whatever it is. I'll deal with the extra support needs by ordering the rails online. It's going to cost me $39 to replace the box spring. What??!!?? Sunny: well, if you looked on the back of your receipt....Blah, blah, blah. I can have it to you tomorrow or whenever you want...Blah, blah, blah. Me: Wait, wait. I got the higher box spring based on YOUR recommendation! (Now, I'm angry). Sunny: No I didn't. Me: Yes, you did. Sunny: well, I thought you had a metal bed frame. That's why. Me: You're the expert. Why didn't you ASK ME? This goes back and forth. Sunny NEVER TOOK RESPONSIBILITY for you recommendation. Only blaming me. Then tried to come up with options to fix HER poor recommendation. I mean really, why not ask the measurements, bed frame type as part of your sales push? So, she takes my number and says she'll call me right back. 20 minutes later...no call back. So, I finally called and spoke with James. I told him I wasn't happy, but it was proving to be too difficult to try and make it right for me. At this point, I'll just keep what I have (too high 9" box spring). I was not willing to put any more money into this situation. If Sunny's M.O. is to provide NO information on product requirements up front, and then make WRONG recommendations...then not take responsibility, all in an effort to frustrate the customer into just keeping what they got. Well, JOB WELL DONE!! I am too frustrated to continue; I will keep your poor recommendation. But, I will not shop Mancini's again. read more

2 things stay away from a there mattress protectors. They don't cover the whole top of the bed and if you still something it voids any kind of warranty so it's pointless. Find one on Amazon that covers the whole bed! Also we spent 5,000$ on a bed that in under 2 years we are having to buy another new bed. Our bed has become so soft we can't sleep with out aches or pains. Firm Tempur-pedic only stay firm for 6 months then there trash. When we brought this up we were told oh it's just to the temp of the room and your body. Learn from our mistakes. read more

I was looking for a firm mattress for myself. One of the agents showed me a medium firm mattress when seemed on a firmer side, hence I decided to buy it. Later the agent tole me that they have a clearance mattress with feels exactly the same. I decided to buy that one based on her words. When I received the mattress it was on the plush side and it doesn't support my back. I called the store if there is any option to return they declined. Now I am stuck with this mattress and have issue in my lower back. Hate this store for their unethical practices. read more

Because of that, we returned to the same store for another purchase of a mattress for our spare room. My experience of shopping for a new long overdue mattress was so good that it did not take long to decide before leaving the store. Suni was very knowledgeable and understood my needs of a mattress which would give my aging (I may be imagining a bit) body many years of comfort. Jerry and Ryan were helpful and even though I would always ask for Suni, they never insisted that they can help me instead. My mattress was delivered in two days. I was sold the first night upon sleeping on it. The second night, I wasn't so sure. I called Mancini twice and finally had the chance to speak to Suni. She suggested that I give it at least three months trial. Sure enough after 2 weeks, my body adjusted to the mattress and now I am happy with the results of comfort. They're great at providing service when you buy a mattress but have no ethics if you face an issue with a mattress. Our 2 year old mattress which was hardly used starting sagging. It's been 2 months since an inspector came and said that the mattress needs to be replaced. We've called them countless times but keep getting the same spiel that we haven't gotten any reports. My daughter has started getting back pain and no resolution from them. Suresh and Jeff are rude and condescending and the manager Suni just doesn't care. Never does she call back. I'm going to take my mattress business to Amazon and Costco who care for their customers. Today when we called again, Suni just happened to get the report today. This past visit, the store manager Suni helped me pick out a new mattress. The minute we stepped foot into the store, she instantly greeted us with a warm welcome. I didn't know what I wanted in terms of the brand, or what type of mattress. However, Suni knew exactly which to show me and to take my time with it (by the way, she has over 19 years of experience). This was an easy process. The sales man David was straight forward. That's why I'm sleeping on a better mattress, so far so good! Especially the pillows. My husband got a softer pillow I got the firmer one my neck pain is getting better on just day two. I've been wanting a new one but we avoid mattress shopping and it's a big purchase. Finally a mattress store that doesn't hassle you or come with you as you lay on the beds making it super uncomfortable. My husband and I dread the process of cringy mattress salesmen basically ready to jump in each bed with us when we are already feeling weird about the whole thing. Not this place. They don't inflate the prices and say they're "on sale". Their prices are consistent. We tried out 6 or 7 beds before agreeing on the tempurpedic one plus two pillows were free with mattress protector( $300 value! ) Yes he did help us make an informed decision but did not harass us at all. I wanted to know the least returned brand and then we went with the most comfy. We ended up spending almost 3 grand but I'm hoping we don't have to for a long time. There was an issue from the wear house with picking up my old mattress and the young lady Vanessa in the Dublin store took care of it right away!
