We were visiting from Chicago to celebrate my boyfriend's parents 50th wedding anniversary. We were a group of 13 and wanted to try and make it a little easier for everyone involved, so we asked about doing a limited menu. I worked with Dani to make it happen. She was flexible and accommodating and made sure we were able to do exactly what we were hoping for. Then, when dinner happened on Saturday it was absolutely perfect. Our server Salina was outstanding. We had two munchinks with us and she treated them like adults, and accommodated their random requests (like when my nephew decided he didn't want his fruit cup halfway through, and asked for a salad instead). The food was delicious and the entire restaurant is absolutely stunning! We had a great experience, and will def be back next time we're in Toledo. read more

This has been my family's special occasion spot for decades. Now that the family has grown and moved away, it's our tradition to come here each year during the holidays and it never disappoints. Mancy's is the quintessential steakhouse. It's been around forever, and it shows in all the best ways. The building and interior is historical. It's dark and rich, just like a steakhouse should be. The service is always great with servers who know what they're doing and genuinely seem to care about giving you the best experience. The menu is actually quite varied for a steakhouse with several seafood and non-steak options. I wish I could tell you they're great too, but though I've been here 15+ times, I'm here for the steak. The other Mancy's restaurants all serve steak as well, but it's just plain better here. My go-to order is French onion soup (rich and homey), side salad with blue cheese dressing (made in house), 14oz strip (juicy, flavorful, and always a perfect medium-rare) with hash browns with onions (I just don't have room for a 1 lb spud by then). It just can't be beat, and I didn't even mention the bread! For dessert, we had the bourbon bread pudding, which was enough for 3. At most steak houses, everything is a la carte. Not only is the food, ambiance, and service top notch, but at Mancy's it's even a great value. Best in Toledo. read more

Had a lovely family dinner here this past weekend. We have never been and the minute you walk in, the atmosphere is just beautiful. You get the feel of an old building. We didn't know the history behind the building but when we got seated our waitress had asked us if we had ever been here. We said no. She then proceeded to inform us about the building and history which was a nice touch. We then proceed to look at the menu and man oh man is it a menu. We started with an order of the Oyster Rockefeller which was divine! Huge Oysters and super flavorful! We also ordered the onion rings which were amazing! I'm still thinking about them actually lol. It came with a siracha type mayo that wasn't too spicy which was nice. I ordered the petite filet medium rare and so did my brother. Although on the menu, you can add a crust to your steak which was so cool and different. My brother chose to add a garlic crust but when it came, it was more of just a garlic paste on top of the filet which was fine, it just wasn't a crust. The steaks were phenomenal. My father had ordered the lamb chops and they just melted in your mouth. SO GOOD! There was also a Salmon that was ordered which was tasty as well. I've been dining at Mancy's Steaks for many years and normally it is exceptional - from the service to the food. This time, it was just fine. Not great, not bad. Just ... fine. The crab stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer could have been broiled just a bit long to crisp the cheese. The salads were anemic with barely any dressing (I asked for red French w/ crumbled blue cheese and found a small puddle of dressing UNDER the lettuce and about 4 crumbles of blue cheese). The bread basket was minimal. The steak was fine but not incredible by any means -- the filet was cooked almost to my liking (a bit too rare but wasn't in the mood to send back), the side of Hollandaise sauce was nearly minature, and the steaks used to be served with a bigger portion of crispy onions. The baked potato was less-than-stellar (please bring back the hash browns). In year's past dining at Mancy's was a slow burn and you had time to nosh on the bread, then enjoy an appetizer with drinks, then get your salad, and then wait a bit for entrees ... this time the appetizer, salads, and entrees were served so quickly that we were done with our meal in just under an hour. While from the outside Mancy's may look like a secluded warehouse, especially with the shady neighborhood, the interior is magnificent. Stepping through the front door and into the lobby, it is as if you were transported into a whole different city. The interior is that of the most luxurious and elegant mansion designs, paintings, dim lighting, fully stocked bar, wine cellar, multiple floors, and carved woodwork. Mancy's would be a most excellent home, and it is enormous once inside. Feel free to ask to go upstairs and look around. You can tell that the restaurant would have been a Hotspot for Mafia activity if there were any, which makes it all the more cooler and superb. What the it from being perfect in design was the very lackluster and not too clean bathrooms. Much like going from outside iffy neighborhood into the pristine interior, entering the bathroom transports you into a regular basic restroom feeling.  Aside from the highly memorable design and aesthetic, what is memorable is the excellent service and kind staff. They are very attentive and will fill all your requested needs, and are detailed in asking if everything came as ordered. Smiles on their faces, experience behind the eyes, and hands bearing plentiful platters of cuisine. I've only been here once, but I always hear about how their service us fantastic. And thus far, I can certainly agree. I had an issue with my NY strip steak, and had no hassle or hesitation between the server or myself to send it back.  Food may take a while to arrive, but that is because everything is being cooked fresh and to your style. The meat is butchered and prepared on the perimeter daily, as well as the bread being made and baked everyday. I'm not sure about the fish, but since they charge market value, it must be freshly caught it shipped. I ordered the New York Strip steak, 14oz, aged for 24 years. There are a variety of options, ranging from new york strip, Porterhouse, Ribeye, Filet Mignon, etc. Prices are high, typically an average of $20-30, but can range upwards of $50 per dish. This is certainly a fine dining establishment with quality food, thus the higher end price tag. The steaks come with an option of salad or soup, as well as their in house favorite, 1lb. Baked potato. The steak is terrific! Top 5 I've had in the US. While I can't say it's the best I've had in the US (that going to the infamous 72oz Big Texan in Amarillo), Mancy's holds the top slot for Ohio so far. It is thick, juicy, bloody, tender, and hearty. The knife is not the best, and you would expect it to be a top quality blade for such an establishment.  They do have a full bar, they have liquor, and they have an enormous wine selection. I perused through it, and the one that caught my attention was the Francis Ford Coppola haha. I did not try any, but the Tom Collins I had was disappointing. So as for liqueur, I wouldn't fully endorse yet, but their steak is magnificent.  All in all, it was a magical night and bellies were very fed. It may just be my stomach, but it did not fill me up all the way, but rather to the point of just right. No need to unbuckle the belt haha. read more

I have been wanting to go to Mancy's Steakhouse for a long time, and I finally got the chance to recently. It was worth the wait! The atmosphere is full of charm. The room is dark and the lamps above the tables are beautiful stained glass. This is definitely a restaurant to go for special occasions. I ordered the filet, 10oz. I got it cooked medium and it was cooked perfectly. I ordered mine with one of their famous baked potatoes. They offer many different side options, like soup, salad, a loaded baked potato, french fries. The simple baked potato with butter is what I got and it was a perfect compliment to my steak. The bread tastes fresh and it is very tempting to eat the whole basket, but you will want to save room for your meal. The steaks also came with a salad to start. I got the house dressing on the side, which was a type of vinaigrette and I really enjoyed it. We were too full after dinner to order dessert but it looked incredible. Mancy's is by far my favorite place to eat in Toledo! First off, the old fashioned luxury charm and decor is beautiful! The stained glass windows and antique decor really feels like you stepped into a 1950's dinner club. The food....DELICIOUS! Everything on the menu is made fresh and is really good quality. One of the best steaks I have ever had! Prices are higher compared to other " typical" restaurants, but it comparable to other high quality steak houses. They also have a lunch menu, which is a little less formal than a steak dinner, but is also delicious and affordable! Now on to the best part, dessert! They have a nice variety of desserts, which again are well worth it! We had a " chocolate box"which was too good for words! It was literally a hollow box made of chocolate filled with rich chocolate moose, fruit and chocolate sauce! My husband and I came here for our 1st wedding anniversary. We had reservations and we were seated right away - great start. Our server got our drinks quickly and our orders in - awesome! We had the crab stuffed mushrooms as our appetizer - even better! My husband orders the most expensive steak on the menu and asks for it medium rare. I order a steak as well and order it medium. We get our steaks in good time, cut into them and they seem fine (very dark in the restaurant so was hard to tell initially). My husband takes 2 bites of his steak and it's completely rare - not able to eat anymore. I take a bite of mine and it's much more rare than I wanted but it's eatable. We wait and we wait for the sever to come back (around 15 min) and my husband informs her of the steak being cooked wrong - she even comments how rare it looks and that she feels terrible it was not cooked right. She apologizes and rushes to get another steak cooked (took about 10 min). He cuts into it again, still rare.... she offers to have another steak cooked but between the frustration and time that has passed, he was not even hungry. We are not the type of people to send food back but this is an extremely nice establishment and we paid a lot of money. The fact that the steak was cooked wrong twice made us very irritated. We get the bill and we were hopeful the server would give us a discount or something to make up for the issues with the steaks but no. Spent over $200 with tip at a place where $65 of that was just on a steak that couldn't be eaten. It was extremely disappointing because we enjoyed our experience here outside of that and we also really like the other 2 Mancy locations. This experience put a sour taste in our mouth. We were hoping for such a nice night and this kind of put a little damper on it. I would like to give this place another chance but likely not any time soon. read more

If I could give Mancy's 10 stars, I would. I myself am a GM of a bar/restaurant in Tampa, FL, and not a fan of Yelp!, as I find most people go on it to complain. But the service and treatment my family and I encountered here...I felt the need to express my gratitude to the staff of "NOR". I'll first start out with that I am visiting Toledo to spend time w my dad who has been battling cancer. He has had all teeth removed and part of tongue and bc of that, hadn't eaten out in public in over a year. May 8th was his last stint of radiation, so we wanted to get the family together and go out and celebrate. I called to make a reservation w hostess and explained to her my dads situation and that he can only eat purée foods. She transferred me to the chef, who took his time to not only talk to me about my dads needs, but went out of his way to come up w a meal for him. Later that night we arrived (unfortunately 15 minutes late, but was greeted and seated w no problem). Our server was welcoming and attentive. The meal was delicious, everyone in party was happy with what they had ordered. But most importantly, my dad LOVED his meal and was so happy. He hadn't had the taste of steak in over a year. Between that day being his last day of radiation, the family being together, and then a delicious meal to finish it all off, it made for the perfect memory we will all remember. I wish I could've shook the chef's hand and expressed my gratitude. Thank you guys for going out of your way to accommodate our needs. Thank you for being welcoming and showing us GREAT hospitality. Mancy's is a wonderful jewel in Toledo. I get the whole covid thing, losses and then supply chain issues and inflation of everything!! I think most people understand we'll be paying more but the quality and quantity went down when the price went up by $6 of my absolute favorite lunch item, the beef stroganoff. Less beef, whole mushrooms vs sliced, trying to fool the eye it's beef? Salad no longer included in the pre-covid price of $11.95. Now the entree is $17.95 and if I want a salad it's $4.00 more. This wouldn't be an issue at all if it was the same quantity of beef. I had it served with rice the last time I had it, I know noodles are a supply issue at times but I'd not ordered it if I knew the base would be rice. Thought I'd give it another shot a couple weeks ago and same much smaller portion, whole mushrooms but a big glob of sour cream was now place on top. This will not stop me from going to any Mancy's, we frequent Bluewater and I'm totally fine with the jump in steak prices, because the quality has not gone down. This 3 star review is based on this one dish. I love Mancy's and will continue going, I just won't get my past all time favorite of the stroganoff. read more

I have had the 2nd best steak of my carnivorous career here....and even though I'm only just shy of 31, that is saying something. We take steak seriously in my family. We eat it practically moving, bloody, charred, and full of flavor. The only reason I give Mancy's 4 out of 5 stars is because they profile. If you're not with people they recognize, the quality of your steak may not be top-notch. This has happened to me before. Unfortunately, Mancy's staff...that is real-talk. My family has been coming to this establishment for years and we are so grateful for it. I get great quality cuts when I am with THEM. You may want to give 2 kids on a prom evening date a less quality cut of meat, but you really should not give it to the girl with the pixie cut and excited look in her eye. That is me and I know what the hell I am eating. That said, I am ALWAYS excited for every occasion I am lucky enough to come to this establishment. I've been to Mancy's numerous times, but in my pre-Yelping life. I always try to make it here when in Toledo, as I think it is probably my favorite steakhouse in all of the US. The steaks and sides are always excellent, and the value is excellent as well (you can still get an aged 16 oz ribeye for $24.95, for example). What really sets Mancy's apart from others though is the dining in a vintage and historic 1920's setting, with all the attending decor and environment. They have actually been in business since 1921. There are multiple quaint dining rooms, though they can be on the darkish side (the lighting, that is). The service is also always very attentive and top notch. This time I had the 18 oz NY strip steak, medium rare, and garlic crusted. Just lovely it was. My colleague had a 10 oz filet mignon, his favorite choice, and being a creature of habit, he has stuck with this for years. Can't wait to visit again! read more

This is a great place to come for a special occasion. I found this place on Yelp while hunting for an anniversary dinner destination. Everything we ate was delicious! I had the salmon spread appetizer (Which was HUGE BIG chunks of salmon) with grilled bread bites to eat it on, yum! The french onion soup was good per your reccomendations, and it didn't have too many onions in it, which I always appreciate. I also had a salad with their "house" french dressing, which I really liked, not too thick, and just the right amount of tang. The bread and butter tray was delish and the server kept them coming. Our entrees were giant and I was already so full before they came I can't believe i ate it all but it was so delicious! You figured I would have learned my lesson in over-ordering by this point, but of course, I had to have dessert! You practically had to roll me out of there. I was so full, and so happy, but SO FULL. This is definitely somewhere you want to go to feel special and when you're looking to enjoy time with other guests. They space out all of your courses, so it is a long process beginning to end, so don't be in a hurry, just enjoy :) read more

We had dinner there tonight with a group of friends. Service was VERY slow....house salad had wilted lettuce and generic ranch dressing. My husband ordered the DelMonico and I had the Filet....both came to us over cooked (we both asked for medium) and the DelMonico was tough as rubber...not worth the 34 dollars at all....My filet was "ok" but over cooked. Our server was scarce so we feared asking for a new steak for fear it would take forever. We are in no hurry to go back....We will stick with The Common Grill in Chelsea....chef approves every meal that comes out of the kitchen....and not nearly as over priced. read more

Visited this Toledo institution for the first time this weekend for our anniversary. We're not from Toledo, so we had an outsider's perspective. Overall, it was very good. The Good: Our steaks were cooked to pure perfection ... better than some of the more well known steak houses we've been to all over the U.S., and the aged steaks were truly fine. A good selection of wines; our bold Cabernet was perfect. Nice selection of custom cocktails. Sat in a booth with my spouse, next to each other, with glass panels on either side; you could see out, but didn't have to hear the noise. Waitress was delightful and friendly, and tried really hard to please. I didn't think the drive or the neighborhood was all that bad - we're willing to travel for good food. The Bad: Extremely dark and gloomy, like Dracula's castle - not a window in sight; reminded me of Bern's Steak House in Tampa. The waitress was nice, but not too bright. When we asked her if the restaurant had a sommelier, she said "No, but we have Chardonnay!" LOL! The restaurant was packed, but the crowd could have dressed up a bit more; it was the usual Toledo attire ... baseball caps, shorts, t-shirts. It would be nice if they encouraged some type of dress code to add to the ambiance. It was also surprising that the restaurant doesn't offer a token dessert for those celebrating special occasions; I thought that was pretty common among "higher end" establishments. I always look forward to an evening at Mancy's. You can't beat the classic steakhouse atmosphere. There's beautiful woodwork, rich decor, and class everywhere. Whenever I travel for work, my team inevitably ends up at a top tier steakhouse (Keen's in NYC, The Palm, Morton's, Ruth's Chris, Smith and Wollensky's, Sparks, Hyde Park Grille, we've been to them all). Is it the best? No. Is it the best value in terms of accessibility, quality, and affordability in Toledo? Yes. You can go here anytime and get a far better meal than any of the chain "steakhouses", and pay less. Plus, you'll be supporting a local Toledo classic. Actually, why in the world would you go to the chains? Staples for my wife and I are: crab stuffed mushrooms (the best!), steak tornadoes for my wife, and the ribeye for myself (definitely the best cut for flavor). I am one who always tries to order something different when I go out, but I have a hard time changing when I come here. If you are thinking of dining here, quit thinking and start doing. Well, I now know how to earn a gift certificate from Mancy's...LOL Mancy's is a true old-school Midwestern steak house. A place where traditionally the cigar smoke should be as thick as the smoke from grilling steaks (if the do-gooders had not stepped in to save us from ourselves). Dark and gloomy is right for a place like this, and really it's not that gloomy. Just not glitzy. Think leather and wood, not mirrors and track lighting. The kind of place you might expect to run into the Rat Pack. Yes, the dress code has gone a bit lax, and I would not mind seeing some minimal standards enforced, even if not as far as jacket required. The food is amazing, and no matter what you order, it will be wonderfully over the top in both quantity and quality. Seafood selections are top shelf. It's not Peter Luger's, but you aren't going to pay 200 dollars a head either. Steaks are cooked to perfection. Remember to order med-rare or less, especially if you opt for the dry-aged offerings, and you won't have get on Yelp and whine. I don't think they take reservations on the weekend. The service is impeccable, and the wine selection is more than adequate. I have never left feeling I didn't get more than my money's worth. It's a bit out of our budget to go there weekly or even monthly, but we try to visit a few times a year, which manages to keep it very special. read more

We were seated right away on Valentine's weekend. Staff was prompt, pleasant and knowledgeable. The restaurant was so dark we couldn't tell how rare the steak was. We both ordered the filet medium rare. It wasn't until I got home with leftovers that I realized how rare the steaks were. Mine was rare at best and his was blue rare. Completely raw beef. The next morning I realized how inept my stomach is for raw meat. I wish I were dead. I'm glad we covid overstocked on Charmin. For the price, I'm just not impressed. Let me start by saying that I used to work for Mancy's, so take that as you will, but it's been 7 years. As far as fine dining in the Toledo area goes, you'd be extremely hard-pressed to find a better establishment than Mancy's steakhouse. In my opinion, a dinner restaurant could almost solely be judged on how good their French Onion Soup and Caesar Salad are. Mancy's has the best of both in town. The caesar dressing has an excellent salty, tangy zip, one that simply cannot be matched. I would also highly recommend the crab stuffed mushrooms. Now on to the main course. I'm an absolute lover of a great steak. Nothing speaks more to my carnal cravings. If I go a week without preparing one for myself, it's a bad week. Mancy's serves up easily the best steak in Northwest Ohio. You'd probably have to visit The Pine Club in Dayton for one to match, but I digress. Every steak on the menu, from the 10 oz. luncheon sirloin, to the prime filet are absolutely amazing. Juicy from the sear under the brioler, absolutely perfect. This was my fifth visit to Mancy's Steak and it was as delightful and delicious as each previous visit. This time I brought my fiancee and I was overjoyed that she enjoyed her garlic crusted filet mignon. I had the aged ribeye steak and it was truly perfect without anything but I will try it with the garlic crust next time. I helped Tasha with her cut into the inches thick filet and got a taste of garlic! Great food, exceptional service and a perfect date night makes Mancy's memorable. We have been going there for years, and on past visits always gave it 5 stars, however on this visit, if it were my first, I would most likely have only done 3. I have always had steak in the past, and it has always been totally top notch. This visit I opted for the Ahi. While it was good, I ordered it seared rare. Seared rare means cool on the inside. It came out steaming hot, with a very hot center. While still good, it did take away from the flavor. Also, the wasabi sauce that came on the side seemed to have zero wasabi. It was a little green in color, but that is where the similarity seemed to end. I also ordered a martini that was not prepared correctly. I have ordered this same drink there many times before, and always perfect. Most likely just an off night, and thus my 4 star rating, as 1 so so night does not take away from numerous perfect ones. I will return without a doubt, and I am confident my next visit will be perfect. Finally, if I have one other complaint, it is that when they bring the whole table steaks, they insist you cut into them while the server watches to confirm they are prepared correctly. I find this practice is more like what Lonestar or Outback would do, and think Mancy's cheapens themselves by doing this. I hope they change this policy. read more

Went to Mancy's for dinner during one of my numerous visits to the Toledo area, as we were looking for a something with a little more class and better taste than Chili's. The restaurant itself was pretty nice and we were able to get a decent table on a weeknight. Our server was very friendly and the wine list was pretty good - Ok, it was fantastic compared to a chain restaurant but I digress... I order a filet which had a very good taste - was cooked to my liking and was not tough or fatty at all. The salads were pretty good as well. My colleagues has different dishes, but were pleased in general as well. Overall, I would visit again on another trip as this is one of only two places in the Toledo/Perrysburg area that seems to have pretty good food. read more

First off, it's dark. Not candlelit dinner dark. Spooky haunted mansion at a theme park dark and decor to match. In an attempt to be "fancy" they brought iPads to the table to select from the wine list. I thought, " Well this is convenient, the iPad is going to send my wine order straight to the back." FALSE, you just simply push the selection on the iPad and hand it back to your waitress. You know what would be way easier? Just telling your waitress your order! A complete waste of funds in an attempt to convince you they are as fancy as they are trying to charge you to be. I ordered the filet and lobster tail, a salad, some potatoes for the side item. Incredibly expensive but if the quality is there I do not mind paying the extra money. My salad was sad and wilted with bits of brown. Yuck! They brought out the melted butter for my lobster early (a good 15-20 min early) and it was in some weird contraption that I realized right away was a warmer device for scented wax. Was I supposed to be amazed by how unique and fancy it was? A little metal stand with a shallow glass dish above a lit tea light candle. Not exactly meant for holding butter and not practical in the least but okay. I received my meal and the meat was bland and had nothing special about it. My lobster tail taste fishy, rubbery, musky and just plain off! After one bite I complained and they offered to make me a new one. But the fact that it was rubbery was the least of my concerns. I declined and they removed it from the bill. My potatoes also tasted a little like the were stored in someones musky basement. My husband was not wowed by anything on his plate either. He barely got down half his steak. It was an extremely disappointing evening and a waste of a night out. I will definitely not be heading back to Mancy's haunted mansion errr... Like many Toledoans, I've been going to Mancy's for special occasions for just about as long as I can remember. I've never had a bad experience here. The service is always wonderful, the servers go well above and beyond to make sure your experience is perfect, and are always knowledgeable about the menu and very willing and able to make good recommendations. My only issue is that I can't possibly eat everything in one sitting, but I really, really want to. Start with the wedge salad or French Onion soup - you won't be sorry either way. The wedge is covered with a generous amount of fresh, high quality bleu cheese. Mmmm. And I think the French Onion soup is about as famous as their steaks. My favorite steak is either the filet or the New York Strip with the bleu cheese sauce - yes, MORE bleu cheese! And on the side, a baked potato bigger than your head. If you're a beer drinker, make sure you try one of their special beers, brewed by Maumee Bay Brewing. I've since moved out of state, but insist upon going to Mancy's when I'm visiting family in town, and I hope I'll be back soon. read more

We drove from Chicago to Detroit, and specifically detoured to have a steak dinner here. The food was delicious and service excellent. The atmosphere is relaxing and it is great for both - high-end business and private dinning! read more
