It has been a long time since we've eaten at Mancy's, it was my husband's choice to celebrate his birthday. We dined early on Saturday evening and it was steady. Our server Kelly was the best! I couldn't decide on a drink and without hesitation she recommended the pomegranate martini. It was amazing, frothy and smooth and I couldn't resist ordering a second one! It's one of the best that I've ever had! We ordered the nut crusted Brie for an appetizer which had berry compote on top. It was good but could've been hotter. I actually took the rest home and heated it up again the next day and it was so good as I warmed it up! My husband ordered the steak and shrimp Alexander with a 1lb baked potato! I ordered the petite filet with green beans. Everything was delicious, our steaks were cooked perfectly medium! We also added mushrooms as a topping for our steaks. The steak was seasoned well, no need to add anything to it and I could cut it with just my fork. We were seated in a booth in the area to the left beyond the entrance. I liked it because it was cozy, dimmed lighting, and we witnessed several couples celebrating their anniversaries! I also saw others order onion rings that looked delicious and will have to try next time! We also asked about ordering dinner at the bar sometime and it's totally acceptable. I'm happy that we had such a good night and a delicious birthday meal. I only wished that they would offer a complimentary dessert for your birthday, the cheesecake was yummy!

The staff were very friendly. The interior is nice. It is definitely a classic steakhouse appearance. The lobster bisque was flavorful; they poured it tableside over lobster in the bowl. The steak was cooked great and flavorful. The creme brûlée was delicious! I would definitely come here again.

Great steaks and maybe the best French onion soup I ever had. The place has been serving up high quality meals to folks for over 100 years. Needless to say they have learned a few things along the years. Don't pass up an opportunity to eat here.

First time I've ever been here and it was great. The server was awesome and the food was awesome. The building itself was really cool. We went during lunch. I got the ribeye it came with au jus and creamy horseradish. Loved it. My partner got the strip steak. It was aged and it was absolutely perfect. Got the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. Perfect. We got the cheesecake for dessert. It was on the small side but still really good. The restaurant says it's over 100 years old at that location. It was a really cool atmosphere walking into. Five out of five stars would eat here again.

Reservation was a breeze on a Saturday night, though they were packed. Promptly seated, server was very attentive and knowledgeable. We had bread for starters, lobster bisque and french onion soup. Of course we gotta try the steaks.. we ordered three 16 oz ribeye steaks cooked to medium rare perfection, well seasoned with onions and mushrooms on the side. NY strip steak was tender as well.. The Chilean Sea Bass was delish! The meals were satisfying and filling we didn't have room for crème brûlée.. perhaps next time. Happy tummy once again!

I've been to many of the other Mancys and even the Mancys steak in Findlay. Right when you want into this place, just the building is magical. We were seated in the bar area. When we sat down I looked up at the ceiling and stained glass windows and was in complete awe. The cockatoo menu was very basic and we ordered h the r espresso martini since it's my sisters favorite. We had bread, salads and fantastic steaks. The food was hot, fresh and cooked to perfection. I'll be taking everyone here if they're wanting a nice steak!

We started with the whipped feta, lobster bites, and the garlic bread. The whipped feta is an absolute must have. I will be dreaming about this until I have it again. They give you toasted ciabatta and cucumbers on the side to dip. Even with the cucumbers, this dip is absolutely amazing. Very refreshing. We went with the miso glazed Chilean Sea bass & the chicken parm. My husband really enjoyed his Sea bass and I absolutely loved my chicken Parmesan. It had the best spaghetti I've ever had in my entire life. The sauce had a tiny bit of heat that really added to the flavor. I loved my meal!

We went again on Saturday. WOW!…read more Started with a Martini for my dining partner and iced tea for me. Both were great. The waiter (Josh, a five-star waiter if ever there was one) really knows how to take care of his customers. He really knows the menu, can explain the dishes along with their components and what makes them unique and paces each course perfectly. He even asked if we were BOTH done before any dishes were removed from the table. Nothing looks worse than one person still eating while the rest of the table has no plates in front of them. We started with the roasted carrot salad. The carrots were perfectly roasted and chilled with and amazing tahini "paste" and radicchio, perfectly dressed with a lemon vinaigrette. OUTSTANDING!!! Seriously, this could have been my entire meal! The tahini paste is great, and I made it once while making a tahini dressing for roasted Brussels sprouts. Tahini naturally gets thick (paste like) when liquid is added. To make the paste, just stop adding liquid to it and stop mixing until it gets smooth again. Seriously, delicious. We both ordered the chicken schnitzel for our entrees. It comes with a really nice side salad consisting of mixed greens, dressed again with a very mild vinaigrette. My only quibble (and it's a really small one) is I would have liked the schnitzel to be a bit thinner. That said, it was perfectly cooked, not at all dry and the thickness is up to the creator of the dish. I don't think there's a "standard" for this (ha, ha - get it!). Great breading and very tasty. The dessert... Again, had to go with the sticky toffee pudding! If this is on the menu, there's no way I'm not going to order it. GOD, it's just a perfect ending to a great meal, well, that along with a pot of French Press coffee. All in all, the meal came to $108.00 excluding the tip. Expensive, but WORTH EVERY PENNY! I spent that much a few weeks ago (maybe more) on a really awful meal/experience at a different place. You'll have to read my old reviews to figure that one out! Anyway, this place treats their employees like they actually appreciate them. They took them on a cruise! Of all the restaurants I used to work at, the best thing I ever received was a shift meal or maybe a cold beer because I was still at the place cooking apps at 1:00 in the morning and the manager wanted to go home but felt bad because I couldn't leave. Thanks for the glass of Miller Lite draft, Mr. Chi-Chi's manager guy! Everyone in the place, from the servers to the hostesses, to the bus folks and the floor manager had smiles and a sense of graciousness and appreciation to each and every customer. Try to find that at any other restaurant in Toledo. The food is top notch, made with very unique recipes and techniques you're not going to find anywhere else. The dining room and restrooms (at least the men's) are clean. I never had to ask for a refill on my iced tea or water. New silverware was brought before each course was served. The old plates were removed from the table after the staff asked if it was OK to do so. Proper training in procedure and etiquette is obvious. Again, just a great meal in every way - 10 out of 10! Can't wait to go back.

This place never lets us down. It's always great food, great service and never disappoints. There was a small wait at check in being Sunday with the after church crowd. The people waiting were all dressed up in their Sunday's best. Our hostess seated us and we ordered our drinks with our waitress. I decided to try the Spinach dip which was highly recommended by a fellow Yelper. I'm so glad I tried it because it was delicious! It's the best appetizer I had: Ever! It was hot and cheesy with bold delicious flavors and the pita was large and perfectly fried and crispy. I will order this every time we go! I decided on a burger because I was craving one. I opted for the salad instead of fries with their delicious homemade ranch dressing. My burger was so big, I could barely take a bite. I ate half and took the rest home. It was cooked to my liking: medium well and was good, no complaints. My husband's steak was the winner. He gave me a small bite and I started to regret my choices. I think I will get the steak next time. It was to die for. We had another wonderful dinner here. Our waitress was great! Our food was great. The price was great! We will be back next time we are in town. The reason it did not get 5 stars: bathroom needed cleaned and the ribs were not available. The waitress brought them out a few minutes later but they were a bit overdone. My real issue came with paying the bill. I used the Ziosk to pay by credit card and noticed the suggested tips by percentage were grossly off in calculation by several dollars. When I alerted a manager to the issue, she said it was a third party device out of their control. I began snapping pictures of the miscalculations and then she told me "Pictures aren't necessary." That made me very suspicious because this restaurant serves alcohol and customers may not be paying attention to the calculations. Overall, my concern with the financial integrity of this restaurant will make my unlikely to return, although the chicken fingers are quite good.

I still find the retro historic ambiance charming- with its over-the-top velvet wallpaper, ornate chandeliers, and white tablecloths on each table. I don't believe any decor changes have been made over the decades. It's part of the restaurant's signature charm and I love it. It was a rather hot and humid day in Michigan and I immediately noticed that the AC wasn't keeping up with the heat. Still, it wasn't overly uncomfortable. Even with a 6pm reservation, the restaurant was very crowded, so I attributed the heat to the crowd and some of the sizzling plates, in addition to lack of adequate AC. . Our server greeted us promptly and told us about the specials of the night. She took our drink orders and came back to take our food orders. My friend ordered filet mignon with a baked potato, with a beef vegetable soup. I ordered the Halibut Special, broiled in butter with shiitake mushrooms and a baked potato plus a side of steamed asparagus to share. While awaiting our orders, we were served exactly two pieces of bread ("dirty bread"?!) and a basket of bread or pretzel sticks. The bread wasn't even warm and I didn't eat it further after one bite. That was okay because I was saving myself for the entree'. When our entrees arrived, they looked appetizing. Upon taking a bite of my Halibut, however,I was underwhelmed. It wasn't horrible in any way but didn't impress me as anything amazing or crave-worthy. The asparagus, imo, should have had the stalks cut down further to cut off the yellow parts of the bottoms. It was a decent sized portion though. My friend's filet mignon was "good" according to her, though no further enthusiasm. It was a pleasant enough dinner though it was rather loud and difficult to converse at times. Our server was polite, pleasant and efficient. Upon being served the check, (I was treating for my friend's birthday), I glanced at it but didn't study it. Later, I was surprised to see a petty surcharge of .50 each for sour cream for the two baked potatoes that were included in the entrees. There was also an upcharge I didn't recognize for some type of cheese? I just don't like being nickled and dimed, so it irritated me. I left the restaurant thinking that I wouldn't hurry back and that I would order a pasta dish. However, it's definitely worth checking out for the experience if you haven't tried this spot. It's very close to Toledo and there's plenty of free parking. Check out pics below!
