    Meatball Sub

Our last day in Boston for the week and we were looking for a small breakfast place in the north end. The reviews were good for Mangia and we walked about 5 blocks in the rain to get here. It's a quaint little neighborhood cafe and perfect for us. Even though it was not quite 10 am I asked the owner if I could order the meatball sub. He was very gracious and said yes. He told me it would be 10 extra minutes since he had to bake the bread. My wife orders the breakfast sandwich on a bagel. Glad I walked in the rain here. That meatball sub was really good. Crispy fresh bread and giants meatballs. Only wish I lived closer. My wife loved her bagel sandwich as well.

Food is fantastic and the ambience is like being in Little Italy. The service made you feel like home. Must have.

Omg I'm obsessed with this place. Food is good and cheap-- we had breakfast. Lots of variety: breakfast, hot and cold subs, pasta, CHOCOLATE CHIP PANCAKES!! I'll have to come back and try those bc I just got an egg and cheese on everything. The owner is so personable and friendly. It feels like you're hanging out with an old friend. He knows everyone who comes in. If I lived here I'd come in all the time but sadly I'm a tourist!

Linguine with a vegetarian marinara and garlic bread

He was able to sit our group on short notice. There's not a lot of space in there but enough for our group of 15. He works efficiently and effectively and efficiently to get all of our orders and make them. All of our food was absolutely delicious! He also did have a vegetarian sauce for my pasta, and I got some garlic bread as a side. Delicious and absolutely would go again.

Great little hole-in-the-wall spot for lunch in the north end! Great sandwiches, great pasta, even serve breakfast! You can eat inside here socially distanced; and it's never packed. Clean, and the owner is super nice!! Makes everything himself. I had a meatball sub, and I don't care for the bread much, but everything else was fresh. Basic sandwich. My buddy had a steal Bellino however, and it was 9/10 BOMB. Definitely recommend. Definitely give this place a try and support during the pandemic.

I finally made it to Mangia x2 after having it on my list for a few months. I opted for the classic chicken Parm and walked out a happy man. The sandwich had a few less bells and whistles than the others I'd tried around the neighborhood but the flavor was just right. The marinara at Mangia Mangia is really well balanced and has just the right amount of tang. Another advantage is that this spot is a bit off the beaten path and you won't have to deal with large groups of tourists. Overall, the delicious sauce and quick service definitely won me over for a second visit to try the pasta.

These days, everywhere you go, places are charging around $20 for a burger. More often than not, they disappoint at that price point. And some don't even come with fries for that price! But that's where we are. I ordered the Capital Burger for $23. It was arguably the best burger I've had in my life. Like a French onion soup infused burger. The taste was delectable, the quality top notch, and cooked to perfection. And yes, it came with fries. Finally, a burger worth the hefty price places charge nowadays. Wife had the Ribeye Steak Sandwich which was flavorful and plentiful, as we brought half home for lunch the next day. And surprisingly, the wine list is VERY reasonably priced. Again, if you eat out often, you know the prices for a glass of wine have risen beyond ridiculous the last couple of years. So appreciate this place for not price gouging.

And, their beef blend is supplied by Pat LaFrieda - a well known New York beef purveyor. I'm also impressed with their creative mix of ingredients on their menu items! My Smoked Bacon Old Fashioned with bacon infused Woodford Reserve bourbon, maple syrup, Bitters and candied bacon started my dinner with a home run cocktail. Immediately brought to our table were a round of waters and a small mason jar of their in-house made pickles - ever so slightly sweet and well balanced. Hubs eyes are always bigger than his stomach so for starters he ordered Smoked Gouda Cheese fries with chopped Poblano Peppers, Eggs & Bacon deviled eggs with candied bacon and a cup of New England Clam Chowder. They were all very good. Their menu features 5 creative beef burgers and one in house made vegetarian burger. My Capital Burger was a delicious layering of caramelized onions, Wisconsin Gruyère and shallot aioli - so good! I opted for the side of mixed greens side salad with vinaigrette and it was light and fresh. Fernando was a rock star server and made great recommendations. We will return when in Boston again!!

Nothing to write home about, but adequate. Onion rings were excellent. I've never had rings with whatever they used to fry it in, but it was fantastic. Truffle fries were great, as were the dipping sauces. My daughter liked her burger (she got the Hell's Kitchen Burger, sans avocado), medium rare. She's a tiny thing and usually can't eat an entire burger, but she inhaled the whole thing. The Bad: I am apparently very naive - I thought the vegan burger was something they made in house and was interested to taste the combo of veggies they use. Nope. It was just that over-processed, disgusting Beyond Burger, with terrifyingly oversalted tomatoes and lettuce. I have never looked forward to something and subsequently been so let down. I took it back to the hotel because I saw ducks and thought I'd feed them the bun. Service: was fine. He was sweet and was attentive. Ambiance: fine. It was upscale burger decor. I think I'd recommend going once just for the sake of saying I went to a Gordon Ramsay restaurant. But be aware one alcoholic beverage, one non-alcoholic beverage, and two burgers set me back $100 (including tip). I would not go back again though. It was not worth $100. But at least now I know I don't need to visit the Chicago one!
