As usual, I ordered my favorite bibimbap ( my daughter and son's favorite as well, husband ordered one of their beef soup and shared it with our daughter ). The food is a little bland compared to our favorite Korean spot but I am glad it is not salty, oily and spicy. They gave us only 5 small servings of side dishes. Fast service. The dining area is really small and very tight. Bathroom is clean. They are fast at bussing the tables. I'm glad that there is no line, no wait and a table is already available for us to eat.
I cannot stop raving about this place. We ordered a bunch of their cold noodles that absolutely hit the spot on a hot SF day. It comes iced and is cut table side. Order a bunch of dishes and be sure to share. There is sometimes a line but just put your name on the paper sheet hung behind the front door because it's worth the short wait.
After a long morning walk around San Francisco, my friends and I wanted to sit down and get our grub on. We walked past Manna in the Sunset and thought it looked good, so we doubled back and decided to give it a try. We were seated immediately, which was great. We ordered the seafood pancake, spicy pork, and sweet and sour wings. The seafood pancake had the perfect amount of umami and crunch, especially with the sauce that came with it. The spicy pork was delicious and came out sizzling hot, which made it even better. The chicken wings were also really good, the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Everything was flavorful, comforting, and hit the spot after a long walk around the city. Would definitely come back again!!!!
A must!!! This place is always so consistently FIREEEE. Our favs and must haves: soft tofu soup w/ beef (medium), galbi, bibim naengmyon, sweet and spicy chicken wings, and of course their banchan. Their in house kimchi is some of the best I've had. Service is always pleasant and staff is attentive. This place does get pretty busy during peak times but they're good about having you order right before you're sat so food comes out quicker. Cute little place with outside seating + heaters as well. One of my fav meals and places.
Order: Kimchi chige: standard soup, lots of silky tofu included along with meat but it was not spicy at all. Kimchi pancake: best dish of the night, tender interior yet the exterior can be a bit crispier. Enjoyed the vinegary dipping sauce. Kimchi fried rice: more sweet than spicy for the sauce, liked the egg on top though the dish was a bit wet. There is an always a line so maybe the wrong items were ordered? the meal wasn't satisfying. Wait posted behind the door to list your name and party size. It was packed but the turnaround time was about 30 minutes. Menus are provided for preorder if you're up next. Banchan are provided with free refills: favorite was the kimchi. Tip is calculated with the tax included so a heads up on that.
Food was great, service was great. A lot of reviews mentioned the banchan being good and to my surprise it really was! My BF really liked their kimchi. It's a small restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating available.
Yummy! I love seafood stew, and it came with a lot of clams and shrimp. Bibimbap was good too, I enjoyed the crunchy pieces of rice on the side of the pot and must eat the bibimbap with the sauce mixed in! We came around 5:20pm and there was no line.
Second time frequenting Manna, didn't honestly hit the same as the first experience as the service was not up to par for some reason :( Manna has been serving the neighborhood for decades and I can see why locals love this SF Korean staple; authentic, homey, cozy, affordable hold in the wall comfort Korean food! Some notes: there is a waitlist especially on weekends where you write your name down. For some reason the experience this time around was with poor waitlist organization, another party of two that arrived late was seated before us as we were next on the list. It's a waitlist not a latelist haha! Manna serves unlimited banchans so if you're like me, free appetizers so order the entrees to your hearts content! On to the food.... BBQ chicken: tender for what it is with a sweet heat moment. Pair it with the side of white rice for a filling sizzling platter goodness Yum Gae Jang (bean sprout stew) Soft flavor profile, didn't hit as other places, probably could use more fish sauce or even MSG. Was a good pallete cleanse for the bbq chicken and ban chan but would not order again.
Have been coming here since high school and it still does not disappoint! I think the popularity has blown up lately because I've seen lines the last few times I've passed by. Luckily we got a table right away on a Friday afternoon! Service is quick and efficient. Restaurant is clean and small, but comfortable. We ordered the lunch specials, 2 Korean tofu soups and soy sauce chicken wings! Both amazing, along with some of the best bonchon! Would absolutely come back!
This place was chefs kiss. Taste: I loved all the banchans and the cold noodles! So yummy. The price was reasonable too :) Parking: I won't lie, this was difficult. It's street parking so you need to get lucky. Service: Kind and accommodating
Loved our Sunday dinner here, saw outside by the parklet and ordered soft tofu soup with chicken and the stone pot bibimbap - both were fantastic and sizzling hot. Friendly service, and reasonable fast give how busy they were inside. Will be back!
I came here a few years ago but most recently wanted to try it out again. There's always a wait for dinner, so I recommend arriving early to grab a table inside if possible. Most of the time, you will be waiting outside which is always pretty cold at night. Theres actually very little space to move around inside so definitely keep that in mind when you visit. I got the Seafood Tofu Soup. I was quite taken back by the flavor since it tasted like they used miso as the base. Korean tofu soups typically use anchovy stock as base to give the soup a rich flavor. That was definitely a bit disappointing. They do give a decent amount of small seafood bits like mussel, clam, and squid. By the end of the meal, the soup ended up tasting very overly salty. The rice was very fresh though. This is such a popular restaurant in the area but the food quality is quite disappointing. You can definitely get better quality elsewhere for the same price.
My Korean friend told me there's not really great Korean food in sf and that helped temper expectations. This place is a cute corner restaurant with friendly service but the food is not great. Not terrible but not very good imo. There's almost always a line, I guess it's affordable and friendly service.
We went to Manna on a cold day, and it was the perfect place to enjoy cozy food in this weather! We ordered the kalbi, seafood pancake, soft tofu soup, and japchae. Every dish we received was delicious. I especially enjoyed the flavorful kalbi, and the tofu soup was ideal for the weather. The service was excellent too! They took our order while we were waiting, and our food arrived right when we were seated. Our server was very friendly and assisted us promptly whenever we needed anything. Manna has been a neighborhood Korean staple since high school, and it still hits every time. Prices are reasonable for the Bay Area, and the flavor is on par with good Korean food in LA. Their ban chan is also delicious! My favorites: Seafood dolsot bibimbap - the marinated seafood has better flavor and texture than the beef, and goes so well with the crispy rice. I also really like the flavor of their gochujang. Seafood pancake - perfectly pan fried and has large pieces of seafood and sweet spring onions. Japchae- seasoned very well, quite sweet and has chewy noodles Fried chicken- consistently great crunch and great flavor. I might prefer this over San Tung. My party of three was immediately seated with an incredibly kind server. We were able to get our order promptly and the food came out relatively quick as well. Though the place is small, it gives a more cozy vibe rather than crowded. Bulgogi: 4/5 Overall, really flavorful! Super thinly sliced, a little sweet, my only complaint was that it was a tad but dry. However, the fattier bits were really good. Bibimbap: 5/5 We were going to order the normal one, but the server recommended we get the bibimbap in the stone pot. When it came out, we let the dish sit for a bit longer before mixing it. The rice became SUPER crispy and it was amazing. We asked for extra banchan to add into the bibimbap, and added more of the red sauce than normal. I really enjoyed this dish, good ratio of the mix-ins. Sweet and Sour Chicken Wings: 5/5 This dish was the last one to come, but it was honestly the best. The chicken was so hot and the sauce was sweet and sour. This is a small place with tight seating. They do offer outdoor seating with heat lamps. Parking in the area is tough, though. Their seafood pancake was crispy and yummy - the best one I've had. read more
Manna is definitely a busy and delightful place for lunch! They added outside tables do we were lucky there was no line this time. Service is quick and friendly. Nice Banchan to start comes quickly. I had bibimbap and it was delicious - no 10 on the menu comes in that really ( really) hot heavy bowl and I suggest getting that. The rice gets browned and crunchy on the bottom snd it's so good. I love the red sauce and they give you a bottle so you can have all you want. I've also had the soft tofu soup which is delicious snd the Korean short ribs. Really good good and a spot I return to every time I'm in the neighborhood. read more
Great little Korean diner! Lunch special prices a huge plus. Banchans were on point! I had the GalBi, she had Bibimbap, we shared a Jap Chae. Totally delicious. East neighborhood, close parking, beautiful vibes, and wonderful flavors. It's strange I missed this place till now. A small little restaurant on the corner of the street - feels very intimate as tables are placed close together but it has a home-y feel to it. My family ordered the korean seafood pancake, bulgogi, beef bibimbap, and japchae. The server was very nice and the food came out in a timely manner. Everything was shareable and we left with fully bellies. read more

ok i happened to be around the area so i'm ready to finally give manna a chance after they remodeled. and i'm back. i stan again. BUT ONLY when it's not busy which is rare. i came on a weekday for a lunch at 1pm and i just got super lucky where there was no wait at all so i got a table to myself and the restaurant itself was a bit slower. service was good since it wasn't a rush hour and that it was nice and clean, thank god. no flies. bless. food. the tofu soup was lovely and fabulous and the side dishes was great. i love the radish and so i just really took my time to enjoy my food for nearly 45 mins without feeling rushed. good pricing for food and service so i'll return again to try if their kimchi fried rice and/or get the tofu soup when it's not busy. again i won't go out of my way to come here but only when i'm around the area but you're back on the roster manna :) read more

This was an off the whim choice and I am so glad that we discovered this place. Apparently this place can get packed for dinner pretty quickly so luckily enough I got in before the rush. Honestly, and I am not even exaggerating, one of the best Korean food I have ever had locally! - The Kimchi fried rice was sooooo delicious. The perfect balance of sweetness, spice, and kimchi. Also, good portion for sharing. 10/1000! - Soft tofu stew w/ seafood: Really flavorful, good amount of seafood and tofu. Generous portion of seafood. - Galbi Short Ribs: LOVED! Good flavor and super important that it's not really fatty. The quality is noticeable. - Chicken Wings: Crispy and well-cooked. The soy sauce had a nice tangy sweetness to it. We ended up eating nearly everything. Plus the service was really good, the food came out pretty fast. I highly recommend coming here. This place is pretty up there for great quality Korean food. read more

The mul naeng myun was so perfect for a hot day. The radishes on top were also super yummy and pickled well. The noodles were a little chewy for my preference, but that's just my personal taste. The servers were very accommodating and efficient. I would definitely come back again on a colder day to try their their tofu soup! read more

Manna is a wonderful place to grab Korean food in inner sunset! I came here for Sunday lunch with a couple of my friends. We got the galbi tang, kimchi fried rice and the kimchi chigae. The galbi gang and kimchi fried rice were super yummy! Although the kimchi fried rice was a bit oily - it had a lot of good flavor. My friend did not like the kimchi chigae. It had a very overpowering sour taste. The inside it self is pretty small - not that many seats but it's very cozy! The service was pretty decent. I also enjoyed their banchan. read more
Manna was fantastic, some of my favorite Korean food in the city at the moment! We tried: - Galbitang: The photo doesn't do it justice, this was my favorite galbitang in the city. The soup came out piping hot, had great depth of flavor, and was well spiced/seasoned. Really enjoyed the radish and egg, as well as the beef, which was super tender and had great textures (although not a ton of meat). - Sweet & spicy wings: The wings were pretty tasty; had a great crunch, nice sweet/salty sauce, but they weren't very spicy in my opinion. While these were good, they weren't anything special. - Kimchi fried rice: This dish was surprisingly good. I wasn't expecting much beyond a standard kimchi fried rice but this was spicy, salty, sweet, and super flavorful. Rice was well cooked with a nice sunny side up egg on top. It was a little on the oily side but so delicious, would definitely recommend. We we're stuffed by the end of the meal for a reasonable price. The place was quite busy when we went but service was still pretty fast. Overall, would highly recommend! read more

Living in the fog I have many different options to grab soup in the city. One favorite spots over the years has been Manna in the Inner Sunset for some Korean soft tofu soup. They have great service and I always feel welcomed here. read more
Had dinner here with a friend last night and we shared the dol-sot bibimbap (rice with beef and assorted veggies with a fried egg on top, cooked in a stoneware pot - $17.99) and the kimchi chige (a spicy soup with kimchi, pork, and tofu-$16.99). Both were delicious. I asked that the rice in the dol-sot bibimbap be extra crunchy and it was! The crunchy crust at the bottom of the pot was fantastic; brought back so many childhood memories of the crunchy rice we ate at the end of a meal! The red sauce they brought for the bibimbap complemented the dish so well; it added a bit of spice and a little sweetness that surprised me. I thought it would be just a hot sauce, but it wasn't! The kimchi chige was really good, too. You have to watch out when you take that first mouthful, though! The spice and heat surprised me so that I almost had to cough! But, stay with it ... the flavors meld together and are delicious! Of course, I can't leave off all the wonderful banchan they always bring out at the start of a meal. There are still five different items; can't remember how many they used to have, but five is a good number. There was the fantastic fish cake, broccoli, beansprouts, julienned potatoes, and kimchi... all wonderful. Of course, I'm sure I'll be back again! read more
Manna serves traditional Korean dishes, but it's pretty average overall. You can definitely find better Korean food elsewhere in San Francisco. The main downsides are the consistently long wait times and difficult parking. The service is just okay, as they're often quite busy. The interior is small, but they do offer outdoor seating as an alternative. read more
I've been dying for some good Korean food in sf and I've finally found it! I ordered their yukaejang, spicy beef noodle soup, which is one of my favorite soups! It was so flavorful and the broth and meat were even better than my Mom's. The only thing that I was missing is gosari aka fern. But I know that can be hard to find sometimes so totally get it. The kimchi and all the banchan was also 100%. Prices were fair and service was great. I'll definitely be coming back here!! read more
Added our name onto the waitlist. It was a busy Friday eve with the gig rolling in, so hot dishes really hit the spot. The beautiful scents radiating out of the dining room had us three excited! We got the chicken wings, seafood pancake, and beef tofu soup, everything here was delicious! Our meal was served with a variety of banchan: bean sprouts, broccoli, kimchi, fish cakes, etc. There is indoor seating available, the restaurant is on the smaller side and its very clean! Our service here was great and they were very attentive! The line here can get long so i would recommend coming early or putting your name on the list and walking around the area! read more

Finally tried Manna after years of wanting to go! It's tucked away in the busy Sunset area and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Cute and homey ambiance. The service was quick and attentive, especially since we went for lunch on a weekday--no long lines. We ordered the seafood pancake, galbitang, japchae, galbi, and both seafood and vegetarian bibimbap. The seafood pancake was excellent, with a perfect balance of seafood and batter. You can't go wrong with galbitang (comes with clear noodles), especially in this SF weather~ The japchae was tasty but a bit sweeter than expected. Galbi was delicous and devoured right away. We especially loved the bibimbap, particularly the crispy, burnt rice at the bottom. Overall, a great experience! I'll definitely be back! read more

I have finally made it here! The food is soo delicious! The service is top notch fast and friendly But let me tell you about the food: The short ribs is a yes! DELICIOUS so much flavor! The bogulgi yes! Made with perfection Jaepche 10000000% The best one I have ever had! The tofu soup is so good had it mild and it is definitely my comfort food I can eat all the time. The soy sauce chicken wings yes! It was made with perfection nice light and flavorful The kimchi is the best kimchi I have ever had and I normally do not eat kimchi but I completely enjoyed it! Restaurant was very clean, not much decoration, but it fit the modern minimalist mom and pop type of vibe. Service was great. Food didn't take too long. They checked in on us from time to time and were very kind. Food: They serve side dishes with your food and all tasted great. Especially the fish cake. The fried dumpling was really crispy and tasteful with their sauce from the side dishes. Ordered: kimchee jigae and bulgogi Kimchee jigae: is not as spicy but still a lot of flavor. I was craving korean food, especially kimchi fried rice! Their kimchi fried rice was very flavorful and had a bit of a smokey meat taste to it (even though there was no meat). Although it was a bit too oily, that could be reduced a bit! We complemented with Mandu Dumpling Soup! It tasted really great and comforting on a cold day. But I felt like it had too much MSG in the soup! I was really thirsty the whole day and had that parched throat feeling. Side dishes were pretty simple: kimchi, spicy oden, potato, broccoli, and bean sprouts. This place never misses - the flavors are so on point throughout every dish I've tried. I especially love their Beef Japchae - the flavor of the meat is very prevalent, but the textures of the glass noodles & vegetables add so much. When I have visitors in town, this is one of the top places I want to take them every time. They don't take reservations, so on a busy night at peak times, be prepared to wait outside for a while. Once inside, the space is small but not uncomfortable, and service is efficient & dishes come quickly. Highly recommended! read more

Yelp came to the rescue when we needed food after touring De Young Museum -- did not want Museum Café foods. Clearly south of De Young is the Asian district and we picked a Korean with the best combination of distance and rating. It did not disappoint. The Bibimbap was Dotsol -- meaning using the stone bowl. We just love that slightly burnt and crispy rice at the bottom and knew enough to scrap them off before it turned into charcoals. So good. I got the Seafood one. Companion ordered the non-dotsol version first and was polite suggested to switch. She was so grateful to realize the extra deliciousness the stone bowl brings. The other dish was Daeji BulGogi -- grilled spicy marinated pork. It was sizzling with mouth watering steam. It was just spicy enough for wanting more. There were only 5 appetizers. We kind of expected more. read more
Haven't gone to enough Korean spots around the city but this has always been my favorite. Really small restaurant so lines will form at times. -foOood- Chicken wings: So so delicious ! If it weren't for San tungs down the street, I'd call it my favorite Asian wings. Hits every taste bud and overall feels very clean. Kimchi fried rice: not just slathered all over from the kimchi but you can somewhat taste the "fried" in fried rice. Tofu soup was pretty good. Not a huge fan of it but it was delicious none the less Bulgogi was good. Meant to order something else but just the right amount of flavor to go on top of your rice. Honestly can go wrong with mana if you're feeling Korean. Usually is a wait time so be prepared and you willl be rewarded. read more

To be honest..my friend and I wanted to have dim sum but they were so busy and we didn't have much time so we walked around and luckily we found Manna! This place was small yet clean. Service was very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. Parking though so tough but it's normal for this area. Will definitely be back if I'm in the area read more

Great place food and ambiance here is quite fast and quick. It is a small restaurant so sitting is kind of tight.
