There is valet parking available but besides street parking, you can use a public indoor lot across the street for a few dollars cheaper. We were seated immediately and our server Pete did a great job with explaining everything a d getting us items that weren't readily available from the kitchen. The ambiance is a bit noisy but this is expected where families and friends are gathered to enjoy great conversation and food. Both were excellent in their own way, but I typically prefer sweeter drinks and would go with what she got next time. It was not only tasty, but beautiful too. Our waitress was well versed in meat, as one would expect from this type of establishment, and carefully described each cut available that night. They wheel out a cart with beef, pork, seafood, and other options to show you exactly what you'll be getting. My dining companion picked out the Small Filet Mignon and I went with the Bone-in Ribeye. Both of us were happy with our respective choices and they were cooked to perfection. I'm still a bit skeptical of restaurants that charge a regular entrée price for what would be an included side elsewhere; however, the Vegetables and Potatoes portions we received wiped away any doubt about ordering them. We went with the Asparagus/Hollandaise, served with a decadent sauce, and the Macaroni and Cheese. There was more than enough of everything we ordered to bring home food for another day. An overall wonderful steakhouse experience. This place has a great vibe, tremendous service, and top quality steaks. I was here for biz and took 2 coworkers in. We had an awesome table in the main room with a tremendous server. I got the massive and appropriately named "Bludgeon of Beef". My coworkers got the porterhouse and double porterhouses (one was super hungry and in desire of the meat sweats too!). I really enjoyed my steak. Besides being massive, it was extremely tender. Also loved the char they put on it. The sides were nothing to write home about (asparagus, mushrooms, hash browns), but hey, you're not here to chow down on sides. My coworkers also split a key lime pie which looked tasty (and like everything else was massive). Each of our steaks was ***just under* $100 (granted, the normal steaks are like $60). After failed attempts at finding other "recommended" lunch restaurants in downtown Minneapolis, John K and I "stumbled upon" Manny's Steakhouse and are seriously glad we did. From other reviews it sounds like this place gets busy, but during lunch on a Wednesday at 1:30, we found the place almost completely empty. Lucky us. The waiter was patient and helpful with decent recommendations across the board. It's the kind of service I like. We settled on two steaks: 7oz Filet with Bearnaise which was especially tender and juicy for filet mignon and a Peppered Bar Steak with Bleu Cheese and Cabernet Butter that was indeed covered in Black Pepper. 4.5 stars for the Filet and 3.5 stars for the Bar Steak. As a quick appetizer, the waiter brought us a Kobe Short Rib & Scallop Slider that lived up to his recommendation and the hype. The combination of smooth textured scallop and soft bbq short rib truly works well together. It was the best part of the meal and deserves a true 5 stars. Along with the steaks, we split a "small" portion of the Manny's "Loaded" Hash Browns which was not small in size (we didn't finish it), but was seductively addictive. By "loaded", Manny's means loaded with cheese, sour cream, chunky bacon bits, and chives. 4.5 stars for the Hash Browns. Other sides, included a small cup of Carpaccio and a tossed Green Salad with a healthy dose of Balsamic Vinaigrette. Both were A-OK and equal to 3 stars. No beer on draft, but there is a full bar. So I'm in the W hotel and the business trip is completed....the only thing left to do was eat dinner and then check out the next morning. With temps in the teens, heading out wasn't really appealing, so Manny's is in the same building and I had meat on my mind. The place was packed, but we were able to snag a table in the main dining area in less than 5 minutes...very cool. The waiter was funny, engaging, and great with suggestions....cannot remember his name though, but he'd been doing days up until 2 weeks ago, so you'd never know it. He brought by all the meat and the size of the cuts are HUGE!!!! 5 of us ordered our steaks and fish and a few sides. In addition I had 3 oysters as I love oysters anytime. A fews micro brews and some shop talk and our dinners arrived. I had the porterhouse medium rare and a few others had smaller filets, but my boss had the 50oz steak....yes folks...they have a cut that big aptly named "the Bludgeon of Beef." An insame amount of cow and my boss ate the entire thing!!!! They also has another item that was also insanely large that we didn't order which was the Australian Lobster tail which was also HUGE!! Add in the lovely and tasty macraoni and cheese, sauteed mushrooms, and creamed garlic spinach and it was a dinner fit for a king. To top it off we had coffee and dessert with an order of cheesecake and mouse...the cheesecake was INSANELY good. Was it expensive? A HUGE Disappointment! We've been wanting to go to Manny's forever. Recently, a group of 7 of us went to Manny's for Sunday brunch to celebrate a birthday. Surprisingly, the restaurant was not very crowded. That was our first clue. The second surprise came when our coffee order took about 15 minutes, with one of cups, an American decaf, coming half-full and tepid. When the waitress returned, she apologized (it was obvious she hadn't noticed what she presented) and returned sometime later with a full cup of warm coffee. After waiting what seemed to be an extraordinarily long amount of time for our entrees to arrive, she returned to the table to say that the kitchen wasn't being helpful. Several times, a server came to refill water glasses, rapidly pouring ice and water into our glasses, slopping water on the tablecloth and interrupting the conversation. Finally, our food arrived. Two of us ordered the steak and eggs. Both steaks, while not sizzling, were done properly, but so incredibly salty that they were almost inedible. The Eggs Benedicts were done satisfactorily. For all the hype and reviews wee had read, compared to our experience, we all wondered if we had been subjected to the "B Team" or unsupervised employees. I am from Chicago where we have plenty of steak houses, so I was not expecting to have my mind blown. That is exactly what happened...presentation, service and food was great. On a plus side, not being a dessert person, their whiskey bread pudding was the bomb! Served in a ginormous glass, it was warm and covered in Maker's Mark...and they went the one step further and actually left the entire bottle of Maker's Mark at the table for me to just pour as I saw fit. We were all ending our 4-year stint with jobs so we figured we would go crazy and have a lavish dinner. I was pleasantly surprised that our waiter didn't seem to care that we were a group of young 20-somethings; he still gave us the outstanding service to be expected at such a high-end restaurant. Our group shared a lot of sides, including the loaded mashed potatoes, asparagus and hash browns, which added a fun element to the classy meal. Everyone in our group got steaks, with the exception of my best friend and me. I opted for the sliced tomato and mozzarella salad (because they refuse to call it a Caprese) which was good. As if the steaks weren't enough to leave you full for a week, Manny's offers the most enormous desserts in town. Our group of eleven shared the cheesecake, hot fudge sundae and Manny's brownie with strawberries. They could have lasted me a year, but my word were they delicious. Dinner at Manny's last night for my hubby's birthday. He is a huge steak eater, so I wanted to take him to a great steak restaurant. We'd already been to Capital Grill and we went to Murray's last year, so Manny's was the next stop. I couldn't believe how expensive their cuts of steak are! You can't get a steak for under $40, yikes! I guess I'm not a huge red meat eater, and obviously don't have experience at fancy restaurants like Manny's. The service is excellent at Manny's, as it should be for the price. They start you out with a bread basket with two varieties, one raisin and one rye. Then the watier rolls around the meat cart showing you all of the different cuts that are available. My husband went with the porterhouse and I actually opted for the lobster cakes (which are on the appetizer menu). We also got an order of their mac and cheese. All of the food was delicious. The lobster cakes were amazing, I couldn't believe how huge the chunks of lobster were. And the mac and cheese... to die for. It was rich and creamy, with a great cheesy crust on top. My husband thought the porterhouse was good, but maybe a little too fatty for his taste. He still prefers the steak and atmosphere at Capital Grill. Make sure to come here for a special occasion, and they will treat you with free dessert! Because it was the hubby's birthday we got a free slice of their Bailey's mousse cake and it even had a candle. Service is a train wreck. Never do a business dinner here. We took 10-12 people to a customer / business dinner here the other night and it was horrific. To begin, it took forever to order some drinks. Then we got some bread (which wasn't very good). Then we waited forever again. Then, without asking everyone as the table -- it's noisy so we couldn't here -- the waiter agreed with one of the guys to bring some shared appetizers to the table. Unfortunately, the waiter didn't bother to figure out who was paying / hosting the dinner, so this was effectively rogue. Then it took forever for the appetizers to come. I got like one shrimp tail, a little hunk of smoke bacon (good) and a rather disgusted scallop benedict (just a bad idea to begin with). Then it took forever, forever to get the waiter to come back and take our dinner order. As usual, but even more so, the portion sizes are ridiculous / obscene. I had a bone-in rib eye, medium rare which came to me rare, rare and full of fat and gristle. I couldn't really eat it and -- unlike every other major steakhouse I've been to -- the waiter never came back right after serving to check the temperature on the meat. I didn't get to order any sides because, as usual, the waiter arranged that with someone at the table, without asking everyone and without consideration for who was paying. One steak, I think the baseball steak, came with garlic butter and there was literally a baseball-sized scoop of butter on top of it when it came. #disgusting Then it was dessert time. The portions are absurd again -- the key lime pie basically filled a dinner plate. Happily, people shared them. We had an after-dinner whisky and almost got sick because it was huge and I almost wonder if he snuck in a double rather than a single. As a poor college student and under-paid advertising assistant, there were many reasons why I did not frequent the Cities' premier steak house. So when your fiancé's boss says to treat yourself to a nice dinner for his birthday, you say YOLO and strut in like a baller. We were seated at a spacious, romantic booth and immediately ordered a bottle of Eroica Reisling (still the best I've ever had) and munched on artisanal bread as we perused the leather-bound menus. Our waiter came by with a huge cart of different cuts of meat and seafood, holding each one up and explaining it. Then he got to the oversized lobster, which was ALIVE, and made it dance as he described said lobster's inevitable future if we were to choose him. We ended up going with the Maine lobster tail (already dead, not the live dancing one), bone-in ribeye and small filet mignon with sides of the hash browns and broccoli with hollandaise. One bottle of wine in the bag, we were feeling p-re-tty good and looking forward to our meals. Clearly, we didn't know what we'd gotten ourselves into. The food came and true gluttony ensued. The meat and seafood entrees were enormous and delicious. The meats were perfectly cooked to our liking and the Maine lobster tail was buttery and rich and divine. Started with the Alaskan crab legs which they fly in every 48hrs and split and shell table side for you. Nice touch! Only negative comment was since it was late on a weeknight about 9pm the wait staff was hanging around some people they knew at a near by table and some very questionable conversations loud enough for others to hear. Manny's is the type of place where you don't want to be dining alone because the portions are HUGE. I was in Minneapolis for work and stayed at the W. My friend who grew up in Minneapolis recommended I go because whenever he goes back home, his entire family will make a reservation for dinner at Manny's. Knowing that, I knew I needed to give it a shot. I walked in around 5:30pm and got seated at the high top tables for 2 right by the bar. I was immediately greeted with some bread and water. Tip: ask for your bread to be toasted. You are served 2 types of bread: a raisin one and a rye one. As somebody who never likes raisins in anything, I would actually willing eat this raisin bread. The rye was pretty good too. I was told to order the ribeye cap or Spinalis, if they were serving it. This cut isn't on the menu. Luckily, they had some. I was also told to order the hash browns double stacked (without onions). When I tried to also order a salad to get my greens in, the waiter stopped me and said that I was ordering to much food. And he was totally right. The Spinalis was probably the most flavorful steak I have ever eaten. The crispy bits tasted like bacon, but it wasn't bacon. I was totally mind blown. The hash brows were enough for 2+ people and were very crispy. I also ordered a cocktail and dessert (seasonal apple crisp). They were alright, nothing special. All in all, I paid $170+ (including tip) for my meal. Definitely a very pricey meal for 1. The Spinalis was $80, cocktail was $15, apple crisp was $16, and the hash brows were $15. If you came with a few others, you can definitely split the sides. I thought that the food was very good, but I don't know if I would come back again knowing that I would shell out $170+ for 1 person. I highly recommend that you make reservations, well in advance. The service is top notch, and the steak I ordered was done perfectly to my request. Nice light char on the outside, but pink and warm in the middle. The filet came with house made bearnaise, and it was superb. The mashed potatoes were as good as advertised, a house specialty. I would absolutely order this again. The bacon appetizer was nice, very filling, you get actual bacon and not just bacon strips. It was a meal by itself. A good experience, but I probably wouldn't get it again. There's so much of it that it can overpower your meal. The elusive fifth star has to do with the slow service we received (it wasn't busy at the time) and the nice but unremarkable cocktails. In fact, our knives are their knives. (I bought them, in case you're wondering). When I say we experienced something new, I mean we had EPIC SERVICE. The service has always been fair/good. When we arrived, Manny's very friendly front staff informed us that they were running a little behind with their reservations. No problem. The W's bar is amazing and we ALWAYS have fun there...we went and had a drink or 2. Finally seated in a booth fit for 8, we 4 were so tired, we could hardly look at the menu. We planned ahead, but even 2 weeks out, the earliest we could get in was 8:45. (Yes, this place is THAT good). Our waiter saved us all!! Jimmy is the guy to go to! Anyone out for a great night, a romantic night...doesn't matter, you will love him!!! He was fun! Funny! Knowledgeable! I actually listened to him. He's got his sales pitches down...he was so good at his profession, I didn't care if I was getting pitched or not! He woke us all up, we found second winds, managed to have another drink or two and had the most amazing food you would only expect from this amazing place!! I'm the foodie. A huge critic. Not that I could do it better, but I am certainly no worse...no matter where we go. However, when you see the black and white photo-lined halls of this place, you'll realize exactly the class of people you'll be dining upon that evening. Royalty. Name a celebrity, they've been there. As a huge foodie, I immediately recognized Andrew Zimmern on the walls. Bizzare Foods fans unite! I snapped a pic of his pic on the wall and tweeted it. I'm not a Twitter fan. Maybe have used it once or twice, but thought in this instance, this was the way to get to him. It worked. He tweeted me right back and said "Manny's"!! Holy shit! This was icing on the already-perfect cake/night. I asked him to join us but he was out of the country... Thanks, Jimmy and the entire Manny's staff. We could have just gone to bed but so glad we didn't. Exhausted and all, this was truly the highlight of our weekend!! Looking forward to our next return trip. This is probably the best steakhouse in Minnesota. Everything there was great. No complaints. The inside of this place is really cool. I had the New York strip. It was the best New York strip I've ever had. Also had a side of hash browns. Those were also really good. Then for dessert for my birthday. They gave me a baileys cake. It was superb. Would recommend this place to anyone who likes steaks. read more

After a week in Europe and a long flight we were tired and hungry for something familiar... Manny's was just what the dr. ordered Sat in the bar with red checkered table cloth and had the ribeye. Prepared medium rare just as ordered with a decent char. Nice flavor and marbling. The hash browns are not what I would normally order with a good steak but these were a perfect complement-especially with the onions mixed in. Manny's sets the STANDARD for steakhouses in Minneapolis. The bacon as an appetizer is a MUST and the brownie is a great treat for anyone who hasn't been here before. The philly cheesesteak for lunch was good, but a little messy. read more
