They will come with the cart and show you all the cuts, go through the specials and talk to you about how they cook their steaks. The place is big. The crown is bustling and you get people dressed in suits to people in hoodies. All with the love of steaks. Went there on a Saturaday night to celebrate a birthday. They sat us right away and the waiter was there shortly after to get us started with drinks. We ordered 3 filet mignons and a rib eye with one person ordering the sea bass special. One of the steaks was overdone and had to be sent back. The sea bass was ok. Big portion but not necessary very flavorful. We ordered truffle fries and hash browns which were ok. Nothing to wrote home about but good. The portions are huge. We couldn't finish the sides with five people. This was very evident with the brownie dessert we ordered. Almost a quarter of the cake with ice-cream, whip and sauces poured at the table. It was divine. Overall, a good dining experience and if you are in the mood for a steak, I would recommend Manny's. Definitely recommend booking a reservation in advance, the place was packed! We got seated immediately in what felt like a bustling old school steakhouse. It's not your trendy vibe but traditional place with a focus on service. Our server was awesome and was patient with all the random questions we peppered him with on wine choices, sides, steak type etc. Seriously there were as many servers as patrons, you will definitely be taken care of here! The food came out fast and portions were generous. Sides are family style so you don't need many unless you want leftovers. Food: -Table Bread: 6/10 - probably the only thing I was unimpressed with. While it's free, which is great, it's a couple of crusty hard pieces of bread that are cold -Filet Mignon: 10/10 - filet was perfectly cooked, amazing flavor and super tender. This ranks in my top 10 list, and just might qualify as my last meal on Earth if I get the chance to actually decide and am well enough at that point to take down a steer. Everything here is over-the-top from the food quality to the portion size and especially the pricing but you definitely get what you pay for so best to come here with an empty belly and an expense account! My first visit to Manny's was about 30 years ago. It was love at first bite and there have been many happy returns. It is definitely a place for a memorable meal and my family and I have celebrated many special occasions here over the years. Letting them know about a special occasion is likely going to result in something extra for your table...they are really good at treating you well and making your table feel like it is the most important party in the place. I love the clubby, big and in-your-face type of feel that this place has. From the huge portrait of "Buster", the heritage sire of their beef program hanging at the entry (with unadorned gonads the size of your head!), to the cart parading the display of food items available (the "Bludgeon" of Beef is impressive), to the sheer volume of food that comes to the table, all of it is meant to impress and it surely does. Another way to put it is that if you are a vegetarian/vegan set on saving the planet by reducing waste and angry at displays of masculine symbolization, you will be incredibly offended dining here. In the end, the food is the thing and what they do here is massive cuts of aged beef, perfectly done and portioned to kill you. It has never let me down in 30 years and if there were a Yelp Hall of Fame for consistently high performing restaurants, this would be my top nomination. The number one thing to consider before going to Mannys is how much are you willing to spend. This is the highest of high end steakhouses and will cost you a fortune With that being said, the food is top notch. I had the bone in filet which was great. My pals had various other cuts ranging up to the 119 dollar bone in rib eye which was also excellent The sides are fine. Not worth getting a whole bunch though as they are huge. One starch, one veggie should do the trick. Same story with desserts. I was lucky enough to experience Manny's last night for the first time thanks to my employer and it was unforgettable! The prices are HIGH, but I do think you get what you pay for here. We got all kinds of drinks (an old fashioned, the Exotic Dancer, some scotch), the large filet, 2 porter houses, the lobster tail, oysters on the half shell, mac n cheese, asparagus, and loaded hash browns. It was a feast. Not a single complaint about any of the food, and I have turned into quite the food snob when dining out. Now I'm going to be even more of a snob (sorry not sorry). The restaurant is dark and loud, so if that is not an environment you like, this is not the place for you. Well I finally made it to the famous Manny's and let's just say I can see why it's famous! If you want a restaurant experience in the Twin Cities that is a bucket level experience, Manny's is the place! It IS expensive...like next level "where's my limo driver" expensive, but for many of us this is a special occasion planned expense, credit card type of situation. That being said...do it anyway at least once :) The interior is high level steakhouse so dress accordingly. My sister's and I were celebrating my mom's 75th birthday, and she didn't want a party, so we all dressed up and went to Manny's to mark such an important milestone. The service was exceptional. Our server...Joel maybe(??), was a treat! Funny, charismatic, professional and warm and he made that evening even more special for us. The cocktails were expertly crafted, the food was perfectly prepared and timed out just right (which continues to be a problem most places so it's even more appreciated). Here are some highlights: Apple Smoked Bacon: SO delicious! Chunks of amazing pork that is flavorful, and tender and it is a very decent portion as well! Caesar Salad: Amazing! Garlicy, crispy lettuce and perfect dressing! One of our favorite things and a zesty offset to the richness of the bacon appetizer. Ribeye: A bone-in ribeye, perfectly seasoned and prepared that made my mom close her eyes with the most beautiful smile on her face! King Crab Legs: Splurge for sure!! So hard to find decent King Crab in MN and I just had to have them! They bring a cart and take out the meat for you right in front of you and you get a plate with wonderful big chunks of crab meat. Delicious experience but it is extravagant and probably a once-in-a-lifetime. I could probably afford to do it again but not sure I would although it was wonderful! My brother wanted to take my mom an and I out for a bit of "fine dinning" and Mannys was his choice. We opted to go for a late lunch to avoid potential parking challenges on a Saturday night. The presentation was lovely and they looked flavorful but tasted not so fresh and tasted a bit bland. My mom and I had no shells but my brother had 2 dumplings with shell pieces in it. One in which he completely spit out due to a lot of shell pieces. They were kind enough to offer to make new ones or take it off the bill for that reason- we opted for the latter. My mom's French dip was flavorless in my opinion. Nothing special and lacking any depth of flavor that I've had in other places. The loaded hashbrowns were delicious! Perfectly cooked with the right amount of moisture and crispness. And the thick cut bacon pieces in it was the best bacon I recall ever having! Our steaks were GREAT! Tender, seasoned perfectly enough that o didn't want any steak sauce with mine. I ordered a Medium- it was cooked a bit more than I'd prefer but still one of the best steaks I've had. I would've loved to see more fun vegetables side choices but being it was still the brunch menu, that's understandable. Would I visit again? Wow, this place was great. It was my first time going and I'm glad I got to experience it. I was told that they had a really good burger. Manny's Burger was fantastic...when it first arrived, it was crazy to see how big/tall this burger was! My immediate thought was that it was gimmicky, but when I actually tasted it, I realized how great it was. There were layers of meat and each layer had its own unique flavor. The meats were tender and juicy. I typically would always expect cheese on my burgers, but this burger was so rich, it didn't need it. This beast of a meal is definitely enough for two people. For a four dollar sign restaurant, I wasn't impressed. We had 9:15pm reservations and when we arrived early we were sat right away, great start! It's not a typical restaurant as only drink menus were brought and after drinks were ordered they brought the meat cart and explained all the steak options...also pretty cool. David was great at first and was able to answer questions, but once we ordered and received our food I feel like he disappeared, not so great for service. Food was ok. The burger was huge, but almost too much. Two patties, brisket and onion straws. We opted for no mushrooms. Bone in ribeye didn't have a ton of flavor. I added salt and asked for horseradish on the side, which was very dry and not spicy at all, actually it had a weird consistency. The sides were good! Wedge salad great, onion straws, bread and loaded mashed potatoes were good. It was a little loud, but not terrible. The booth was comfortable! For $300 I'd expect more for the steak. It was so fun to experience the premium steakhouse in town: The service was impeccable, from a change in our reservation size being handled flawlessly to the over the top meat cart. I felt both pampered and like I was hanging out with my best friend. This is a big part of what you (or at least I) pay for. The food was great. I got the filet mignon and a couple of glasses of house wine (generous pour!). As a table, we also got the elote and the loaded mashed potatoes. The steak knife could not cut through the meat. It was inedible. I've never returned a meal at a restaurant but I came extremely close on this occasion. The side dishes were delicious, as well as the dessert; however ridiculously large that three of us shared a cheesecake instead of ordering three desserts and getting the chance to try different things. But it all came down to the steaks. And this evening, Manny's did not measure up. We found meter parking right away for our 1:00 brunch on a Saturday. Our very knowledgeable server Erick was great! Who is there by the way on Friday and Saturday. But $28.95 for 5 pieces of medium sized shrimp cocktail? For most dishes, the idea seems to be to charge for really big portions. So $17.95 for a slice of key lime that can feed 4. Same for $19.95 asparagus and $18.95 hash browns. What if you only have 2 people? We walked out after paying $515 for two people and more food in the doggie bags than we ate.
