Before I get to Marcello's HORRIBLE food, click the screenshot to read their recent health inspection report. Note the numerous disgusting violations including for INSECTS and RODENTS, and poor hygiene. As for the food, do NOT waste your hard-earned money. Marcello's is an overhyped, HUGE disappointment as per every member of our pizza-loving family. This includes Marcello's regular pizza and Corleone-style, which is just low-end, glorified Sicilian pizza, and their other food like cheesesteaks and hoagies. The good reviews must have been written by staff members and/or third-world foreigners who believe that boiled rat is a delicacy. SAUCE: Made with CANNED tomatoes that taste like a can. Extremely salty. Overall, very similar taste to Ragu's sauce. which must be the "secret" recipe that Marcello's brags about. CHEESE: Cheap and all but flavorless. More flavor comes from the microscopic amount of Parmesan cheese. SAUSAGE: Tastes like rotting rubber and salt. Feels like rubber, too. Any frozen pizza's sausage will taste better. Oddly, you get about 20 times as much sausage as pepperoni. OLIVES, HOT PEPPERS, MUSHROOMS, AND PINEAPPLE: Each is bland tasting and came from a can. PEPPERONI: Average tasting but that is tasty enough for me. But you only get two small pieces per slice! MEATBALLS: Reheated from frozen with the expected rancid flavor. BACON: Very little and burned to a crisp. CRUST: Glorified white bread. The cheesesteaks had flavorless cheese and cheap, imported beef that needs to be chopped into thousands of tiny pieces in order to be made edible due to the huge amount of gristle present. SERVICE: Very slow but very polite. PRICES: Average for the area considering the amount of food received. PARKING: Plenty of it. NEIGHBORHOOD: Nice but continuously declining as more low-class people move in. One star is one star too many.

    That's not arugula...

Hard pass. The Messina pizza was supposed to have arugula, prosciutto, & parmesan. Spring salad mix is not a hardy peppery green that can serve as a replacement to arugula. The corleone dough was so hard and chewy that trying to chew it hurt my jaw. What a waste of money.

First time ordering from here after following them on Face Book and my neighborhood page. I saw so many people raving about the food here, so figured I would give them a chance, and I am so glad i did! I really wanted a Cesar Salad and figured Id order one for myself with chicken and one without chicken for my niece who is vegetarian. The salads came with a fresh piece of garlic bread, and it was so tasty! We also ordered a small garlic knots and wow!!! Talk about flavorful! and worth the price! The pricing for everything was inexpensive and I am so happy about it. We also got some dessert! My niece had the tiramisu and I ordered a canoli. SO delish! She was smiling from ear to ear eating it and was saying how yummy it was. We both were very satisfied with the delivery. Another cool thing is they do Monday night raffles where you can win a dinner and desserts for 2, so they brought a raffle ticket for me when my food was delivered. i am looking forward to Monday and seeing if I win!!

It's a Wednesday and had a hankering for some pizza. I had been seeing pictures on Facebook for Marcello's all of a sudden. People were raving about the food so since I need food and it's close by who am I not to try a new pizza joint. We ordered the Taormino pizza & half-plain. The light focaccia like crust was outstanding. Cheese perfect, sauce bright and seasoned right. All the ingredients were super fresh and very flavorful, an amazing scrumptious Pizza. It looked heavy but au contraire light and delectable. To go along with the Pizza, cause you can't just have pizza by itself silly. We tried the cheesesteak. But not a regular steak you see it's a specialty cheesesteak they called "Eagles Favorite" It was loaded with cheddar and American cheese, fried onions, hot peppers, zesty ranch type sauce and friggin fries, yes fries. Why not, pile it all on foolish mortals. It was spectacular.Fresh roll, great flavors a little spicy kick to it but fantastic. Super friendly staff, very welcoming as well. Really glad I seen this place, now this will be a routine staple in our dining out options. They really wowed me and the food....Bravo! UPDATE 8/14/20: Stopped by to try a couple of slices and they did not disappoint. The plain was good but the taco was the one to shine here. Great crisp crust (on both) by all the flavors just melded perfect on the taco.

Got the corelone style plain pizza and fries. Both were great! Really love the sauce flavor and airy crust. I was hesitant to get delivery due to high delivery costs but after reading great reviews, gave it a shot and totally worth it!

I actually celebrated my birthday here last year and this place is always a hit, never a miss! We started with the cucumber and tomato salad and the country bread, and what a delicious combination! We also ordered a side of olive oil, and they seriously have some of the best olive oil I've had in a while. I definitely recommend getting some on the side to dip your country bread in. Trust me! We paired everything with a pitcher of sangria, which gives you about four drinks and was much more economical than ordering individual cocktails. I finally tried the chicken Parmesan, and boy, am I kicking myself for not trying it sooner! The chicken breast was thick, juicy, moist, and perfectly crunchy. Some places make their chicken Parm so thin that it barely feels like you're eating chicken, but this was an actual substantial piece of chicken with the perfect bite. Our waitress told me I could swap out the pasta and sauce that normally come with the chicken Parmesan, so of course I did! I got the rigatoni with vodka sauce, and it was DELIGHTFUL. The portion was massive, so I took leftovers home and yes, I absolutely ate them the very next day! My fiancé got the branzino and wanted something lighter so he could help me with the rigatoni. His plate was beautifully presented, the fish tasted incredibly fresh, and it was exactly what he wanted. Overall, we had another wonderful experience. This restaurant will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we'll definitely be back! A special shoutout to our waitress, who was absolutely delightful and told me I could change the pasta and sauce with my chicken Parmesan. You changed my life! You have no idea how happy you made me. I wish I had gotten your name, but truly, everyone there is always so lovely. Thank you for another amazing experience!

The arancini was so decadent and the garlic bread came with a head of garlic confit - both were perfectly appetizers. We also got the shrimp pasta and lobster pasta and both were delicious! The lobster pasta was very filling, so I recommend the shrimp pasta if you want something on the lighter side. The service was good, but there was a wait both times we strolled by (Sunday and Tuesday), so would recommend making a res. The only caveat is that I would not recommend coming here with a party larger than 4 people, the restaurant is very small and rustic and can't fit a larger party. It was fine for us as we were able to push some outside tables together (and it was a beautiful evening), but I do wish we could have sat inside.

Our server apologized for a delay in taking our drink orders. She was attentive the rest of our meal. I ordered a Charles deGaulle whiskey cocktail. Lemon, aperol and simple syrup added a refreshing twist. For entrees, my wife ordered the pacherri; a simple pork ragu with tender broccoli rabe, Parmesan, stracciatello and basil. The dish was delicious. I enjoyed my plate of sea-inspired tonnarelli nero. Bay scallops in crab ragu with fennel sofrito. Served with squid ink pasta that imparted a slight brininess. The pasta was cooked pangrattato style-- coated in panko bread crumbs and garlic. The dish had many flavors but they all came back to the theme. The short rib over polenta was probably my favorite thing on the table - it fell apart easily and the polenta underneath wasn't as heavy as I expected it to be. Even the grilled bread used for the bruschetta tasted fresh. Arancini with pork and veal ragu peas was great; the peas added a new texture to the traditional arancini. We also got fried artichokes as an appetizer. It was crispy and salty -- I could munch on that alone. For the entree, I got the veal braciole with tagliatelle and tomato sugo. The whole dish tasted homey, like what you would get at an Italian family's house. The veal braciocle was small, and I wished there was more protein and less pasta to be more balanced. For dessert, everyone raved about their gelato. Their pistachio flavor was clearly a favorite, as it had intense fresh pistachio flavor. It was also tan in color, as you would expect a pistachio nut to be, not the artificial green color added to other pistachio gelatos. I had the amaretto cherry flavor. It was good too, although I wished it had more cherries. A few people got their espresso, and really enjoyed it. They roast their own coffee on-site, so I am not surprised again how fresh it tasted. Tip: Pour a little of their fantastic coffee over your gelato to make your own fresh affogato. I came here with a large group and despite the tight space, we felt cozy. Service was spectacular. We had multiple food allergies in the group, and the waitstaff took each one very seriously, asking down to the detail if the allergy was by consumption or cross-contamination. Thank you to the staff for being so conscientious!

Everything was as perfect as it could be why is that because this restaurants been doing it for over 126 years they know a thing or two their customers and had to prepare plate delicious meals. He was exceptional at his run through the menu, his explanations on preparations handling questions. This was definitely not his first, not his second and not his third rodeo he's definitely a professional at what he does. Upon review of the menu we started off with steamed clams and a spicy marinara and actually asked for fra Diavlo hence they gave it an additional hit of spice. It had a nice kick. It was very tasty. My wife was going back-and-forth between their signature lasagna and a little weak weenie with crab Bianco and in the end she went with the baked lasagna oh my goodness the size of that piece on the plate we took half home. She certainly enjoyed her. For me, I went with the veal Catherine, the medallions veal with shrimp, lump crab meat, and fresh tomato and a Bianco sauce the plating presentation I can't describe you'll just have to see my photograph. I've never seen it like this before and it was extremely tasty. Very tender I would certainly get that dish again. And since I am not a pasta eater, I ordered a side vegetable of broccoli Rob. And we ordered a bottle of the Italian Montepuliciano wine, what was the perfect compliment to our dinner? And this was my birthday. My wife was surprising me she had already pre-ordered their homemade tiramisu with ladyfingers, which would wind up taking with us cause we were kind of full and had later that night at one of our favorite coffee houses in Philly and boy that dessert was perfect and I'm glad we waited.
