I used to love this place, and while it's still great coming with a group just to enjoy the surroundings and each others company, every time we come we seem to like it less and less. The main problem I think is the service. For example, two people in our party ordered something that came with a house salad. One of theirs came out right away as an appetizer, while the other's came out later with the rest of the meals we ordered. Also, my boyfriend and I got a few appetizers as a meal to split. Everything would've been great but our food was clearly sitting out for a while waiting for the rest of the party's entrees to be done. Our calamari wasn't even luke warm..it was straight up cold. I expect the service deteriorates during the busier months of the summer and later in the afternoon/evening. In any case I went here with my girlfriend for lunch the weekend after Labor Day. The restaurant has spacious outdoor patio seating and bar. It appears they may also have live music outdoors. It was nice out and you get a view of the boats and the water. We ordered pre-meal drinks, a mimosa for myself and girlfriend got a Bloody Mary which she enjoyed. I couldn't taste the champagne nor any carbonation in the mimosa. The wait staff didn't make it around to us before our food came out but I had them make me another which was much better. I ordered the fried flounder sandwich with cole slaw she got a ricotta and spinach pizza. Both dishes were well made. The flounder was fried in strips. It wasn't too greasy and did not taste frozen. It was served on a roll with tomato and lettuce a side lemon wedge and tartar sauce, cole slaw on the side. The pizza was nicely done. Crust was crisp but not burnt, and the taste was pleasing but not overwhelming or too greasy. Marina Grill has an amazing bar located inside the restaurant which is huge but also a bar outside for those waiting for a table or just enjoying the weather. If you love seafood you'll love the menu. I ordered the Reef and Beef which includes steak AND crab cakes on top which were to DIE for. Very filling and you absolutely get bang for your buck. Let's be honest food down the shore can get pricey. But this is the perfect price! I highly recommend the seared scallops as well! It's a light dish but packed with flavor. Typical "beachy" meal! Intermediate manager -super nice. But still no food. I actually had to get up from the table to find someone to inquire about our meals. What was finally served was barely warm and not particularly good. We got shrimp cocktail, Baja bowl and blacked mahi mahi sandwich- all great! Unfortunately our service was not. The Marina Grille is right on the water so finding parking can be difficult, even on a weekday afternoon. I ordered a fish dinner entree--which came with a salad with feta cheese, a cauliflower side and deep fried yucca fries. Everything was great, even though it tasted as if the cauliflower and yucca were just covered with regular old bay seasoning. My boyfriend ordered the soft shell crab sandwich, which came with regular fries. He thought it was a little small, but for me, it would have been a perfect size. I must call out our bartender Michelle C. She had a great personality- Friendly, attentive, and genuine. Eager to help and she went out of her way on all aspects of dealing with us. We were at the outside bar on a Sunday evening in late July (Peak season) and the place was full. We decided to eat at the bar as opposed to waiting ~40min for a table. The Ahi tuna nachos were great! I had the calamari which was also delicious as the fish-n-chips; the first order came out cold so Michelle quickly had the kitchen prepare a fresh serving....excellent.
