Highland Park's Best Carnitas -- A True Neighborhood Gem!…read more This taco truck will always have a special place in my heart. I grew up in Highland Park, and my parents used to bring me here as a kid. It's one of those spots that instantly brings back memories the moment you pull up -- same truck, same incredible flavors. Their carnitas are hands down the best I've ever had -- flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right every single time. I've tried plenty of places over the years, but nothing compares. Ive always loved their burritos and tortas, but lately I've been hooked on their nachos, which are a newer menu addition and absolutely delicious. I'll even have my boyfriend drive me all the way from where I live just to get them! What makes this place truly special is its consistency. The food quality, the service, and even the prices have stayed solid throughout the years. In a neighborhood that's changed so much, it's comforting to know this hidden gem is still holding it down and keeping that authentic Highland Park flavor alive. They're parked right in front of a 7-Eleven, which makes parking super convenient -- definitely a plus in this area. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favor and check it out. Always great food, always good vibes. This spot will forever be one of my favorites.

Food: 3.5/5 Service: 3.5/5…read moreAmbiance: 3/5 Stopped by to grab carne asada burritos. I was hungry and haven't had a burrito for a long time so I had big expectations with their high review. It's a taco truck and there are street parking or close by business parking for quick stop. I ordered carne asada burritos to go. After a few minutes, I grab my food and went back to my work. When I took the first bite, I was confused and disappointed. The meat doesn't look like carne asada, I believe it's carnitas. I was the only customer when I order and how could they possibly got it wrong? Also burritos was on dry side and portion is small compared to my regular spot.

Maybe if you go more towards the houses you can find residential parking. The area is very nice, posh, and hipster. The bagels are a little bit on the pricier side at an average of $16 or so. I guess it's more like a sandwich with bagels as the bread but bagels are like $3 each at the grocery store. The egg, bacon, and sauces were fantastic. They were so packed with flavor and were warm. My only gripe was they didn't really have many options with no cheese on the menu. I asked for one without cheese and maybe they misheard me but my bagel had melted American cheese on it. It was kind of easy to remove but messy and my hands were super pokey afterwards. Great little sandwich nonetheless. It's moderately filling. Bottom line/TLDR: not many lactose free options but solid bagels.

These were some bottom tier bagels, weird and doughy and I even like doughy foods. Ordered our usual BEC and it came with tomato, and the classic lox (Lox Deluxe). Was basically $30 for two sandwiches and not remotely worth it for the flavor and quality of the bagels themselves. Service was fine, not rude but not friendly either. This would actually be my absolute last choice for bagel sandwiches in LA.

DO NOT COME TO THIS TRUCK!!!…read more I chose this truck late night last night out of 3 other Mexican food trucks on Eagle Rock Blvd and I regret it all the way. I would give 1 star but I'll give 2 just because the Asada Fries I ordered were decent. But for the prices they have??? Oh h*ll no. Who do they think they are charging people 21$ for a medium box of food. On the truck the price of the fries said 17.99!!!! That's already a lot but I decided to order them feeling like spending money for a good meal and when I order with the guy at the register you can just tell he wants your money. Obviously their business isn't going so well so they have to overprice. After reading the price on the truck the guy says ,"that'll be 21$". I'm in disbelief but I'm not cheap and have pride so I just gave it to him. These people are not for the community at all and I do not recommend. You'll be better off going to Leo's taco truck or the place in front of target. Listen to the reviews or you'll be money grabbed like me. I don't usually write reviews but I cant let that slide again. Not to mention the fact that I couldn't even get a fork with my meal and the make you get the sauce yourself. With prices like that you'd think they cater to their customers a little more. I promise you they don't care. Do not eat here.

It's cash only, but there's Chase and BofA pretty close by if you need an ATM. Parking is limited to Fair Oaks unless you wanna walk past all those antique shops up North on Fair Oaks towards this other taco truck which I like less than this one! There's an interesting Santa statue on the store to the right of this truck that I always think about. All of the taco meats are good. I don't even like cabeza, lengua, or chicharron but it is delectable here. They have pollo, carne asada, and carnitas too. There's also a pineapple beverage, horchata, or Coke cans to drink. There's a bar style table off to the side if you want to eat there, no seating options but the area is clean. *CASH ONLY* and well worth a stop at the ATM. Open late weekdays and even later on the weekend, great spot for a late night bite.

Now located just outside the parking lot at the Vons supermarket in Eagle Rock, it's easy to combine a trip for groceries with a quick snack or dinner in the parking lot. Their amazing tacos are still just as good, with the al pastor, asada, and chicken being my favorites, with a plentiful assortment of salsas, limes, chopped onions and cilantro, and radishes to top it all off. At 2.25 per taco, you can splurge a little bit without dropping too much cash (and yes, this is a spot where you should bring cash!) but they also have started taking Zelle. Be adventurous and order a couple different types and find your new favorite! This place offers very little in terms of ambiance, seating, or tables, but service is always quick and efficient even when the spot gets crowded--usually late at night and on the weekends. Be prepared to take your food to go, eat in the car, or stand around in the parking lot while you enjoy your food. Have plenty of napkins and hand sanitizer ready. Trust me when I say you will need them!
